"Located in the heart of the high-rise district, The Hilton Aruba opened in 1959 as the island’s first large hotel. Designed by architect Morris Lapidus, whose most famous works include Miami’s Fontainebleau and Eden Roc, the hotel was nicknamed the “Grande Dame.” The 357-room resort was transitioned into a Hilton in 2015 and retains much of its midcentury charm along with modern conveniences—like the ability to order food and drinks directly to your palapa. The resort manages to never feel too crowded, even at high occupancy levels. It consists of three towers, named after the ABC (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao) islands, with many rooms offering stunning ocean views. Aruba’s signature cocktail, the Aruba Ariba, was first invented at this property, and the outdoor bar Mira Solo is the perfect place to enjoy one as you catch nightly live music and sunset views through the palm trees." - Jacqueline Dole
