"Baker Street is a mixed bag of celebrity waxwork-enthusiasts, architecture students, and tourists who took a wrong turn on Oxford Street. And Emilia’s Crafted Pasta could work for all of those people, and more. Handmade, good-value pasta between lectures? You got it. Nice sit-down dinner after a long walk in Regent’s Park? Head here. Meeting your friend's new partner? This works. It’s not the best pasta in London, but the warm, homey, plant-filled dining room sure beats a Vapiano. Our favourite is the bouncy radiatori that comes in a light tomato sauce and a dollop of buffalo mozzarella. Food Rundown photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Homemade Tomato Sauce With Freshly Chopped Basil (Radiatori) This is our favourite pasta on the menu. The sauce is everything you want from a classic pomodoro: bright and fresh, with a little sweetness. The folded, layered radiatori pairs perfectly, soaking up the sauce so you get nicely balanced bites. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Homemade Creamy Walnut Sauce With Chestnut Mushrooms (Casarecce) If you’re one of those people who tends to avoid white sauces because they’re ‘heavy’, this walnut sauce will convert you. It’s creamy, cheesy, and light all at the same time. The mushrooms bring a welcome earthiness and the crushed walnuts add crunch. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Truffled Cacio E Pepe (Casarecce) Pairing pasta shapes with sauces is a lesson that should be studied, and whoever paired this buttery truffle sauce with the springy casarecce should teach it. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Homemade Basil Pesto With Grated Parmesan (Casarecce) We weren’t fans of this pesto pasta. The pesto-heavy sauce didn’t have much else going on, and just wasn’t as good as the other ones." - Rianne Shlebak
