"For some reason, 1936 was a big year food-wise in Ithaca - both Purity Ice Cream and the State Street Diner opened their doors. Since the, the diner has been open 24 hours a day, serving up their classic American fare as well as Greek and Italian staples. Unfortunately, after a fire a few years ago that closed the business for several months, they reopened with a more limited schedule, only serving from 6am to 10pm every day.
