Did reservation for lunch high tea today for our 8th anniversary. The booking website have this choice where you place your photo so that they are able to recognize you when you come, so we did that. Arrive about 5mins past 1pm and reached the front counter and told the staff that we had a reservation,she asked us for our names then proceeded to joke around that if she gave us the nicer view table we will have to spend more than $50 per person, good start but not neccessary i feel, but at least she took the effort. So the photo we sent for reservation wasnt neccessary as they wont look at it and will still ask for your name. View was nice, we asked for chips and another staff taking our order bluntly said no we dont have. I told her you have fish n chips but i cant order chips, she said no. I told her please check with your chef as i would just like an order of chips on top of the 2 sets of high tea. She came back and said ok. Perhaps could improve on staff responses towards customers since a bowl of chips is $14++. The counter lady came back with a cake n candle complimentary. It was almost 3pm when another staff came with the bill suddenly and said here is the bill and we need the table by 3pm as another reservation are on their way. Ok, perhaps a really GOOD TRAINING SESSION FOR ALL STAFF on how to interact with customer is neccessary at this point of time.
Food was not that great, well except for the chips of course and my coffee as i ordered twice. Also some of the food is not available as the staff said that because there is a wedding so the food is unavailable. Well you could have told us earlier when the whatsapp confirmation was done right?
With the kind of standard you are potraying, perhaps either the food or service should be good, but neither are.
