1 Park Road

We had the most fantastic long weekend at 1 Park Road. The house is immaculate with excellent attention to detail, very comfortable and in a great location. The scenery is spectacular and travelling by bus is incredibly easy from here, but Windermere itself has a great selection of pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants. Hilton is the most wonderful host, we had everything we needed and were very well looked after. He has a wealth of knowledge to share about the area and makes a delicious breakfast! I highly recommend staying here and we would love to return soon!

Staying at 1 Park Road Guesthouse was perhaps the best decision my husband and I made for our 2-night stay in the Lake District in August! 1 Park Road came highly recommended from one of our favorite guidebooks, Fodor's, and our experience exceeded our expectations. Windermere was the perfect "home base" for our first visit to the Lake District—quiet, charming, and a lovely refuge from some of the more bustling nearby areas. Hilton was a courteous and knowledgeable host, giving us wonderful recommendations to make the most of our short time here (we got through almost everything he suggested, including visits to the best gingerbread bakery, a walk through the lush landscape, and memorable spots for drinks and dinner). Hilton is also a fantastic cook; we really enjoyed breakfasts at the Guesthouse. They were a great way to start our days. And the Guesthouse itself is a beautiful space; the bed was comfortable, the windows large, the room spotless. I can't think of anything that could have gone better. It's absolutely clear how lovingly cared-for 1 Park Road is. We are grateful for our time there and hope to be back in the future!

What a lovely stay at 1 Park Road. Easy access from Windermere railway station. Just take the left when exiting from the station, enter the town and fairly straight route to 1 Park road. Hilton is an excellent host. Right from providing the correct guidance, things to do, routes and room amenities, everything was meticulous. The room was excellent ,beautiful and had premium amenities. Amazing how Hilton manages everything so wonderfully by himself. The breakfast's cooked upon order and was wonderful with huge selection of breakfast choices. Do try Hilton's homemade jams, granola bars and yogurts.

The vibe makes me feel like I am at home. Hilton is a very thoughtful and welcoming host! And the breakfast was so nice! 100% recommend!

We have just returned home from a fabulous 2 days in Windermere. |The hotel is lovely and a home from home. |Every room is very tastefully decorated and furnished ( Hilton very kindly opened all the bedrooms for us to view, as we were the guests staying).|Breakfast was delicious, especially Hilton's homemade jams and lemon curd. There's a good choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, bread, teas, coffee and juice. |Hilton is a very attentive host and nothing is too much trouble. He also has a wide knowledge of the area, bus and train times and recommendations for bars, cafés and restaurants. |We will definitely be returning!

Just returned from a 2 night stay for my special birthday! Hilton is an extremely hospitable host and addressed all his guests by first names which was nice. My Fiance had arranged for flowers in the room, which were beautiful. Hilton also added a 'Happy birthday' banner which was a nice touch. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and spacious. The whole place was spotless. Breakfast was excellent. Great location. Hilton was very knowledgeable about the whole area and gave us great tips. We look forward to returning again. We feel that we arrived as guests but left as friends! Highly recommend.

Just returned home from my birthday weekend at 1 Park Road. As always Hilton was the perfect host. The house is beautiful and smells lovely as you walk in. The room was perfect, spotless and warm. Tea, coffee, bathroom products and extras available. The breafast is outstanding, so much choice. This is a great place to stay in Windermere and we hope to return soon.

We came back for a return visit as we loved this place and we were again not disappointed.||We stayed in a lovely king size room on the top floor. Lovely, clean and spacious. All the amenities you need. There is also off road parking as well outside and the host Hilton ensured we had a space. |The breakfast here was really delicious. Continental buffet and hot cooked food with local produce. ||We stayed here as I was taking part in a running event, the Lakeland 50, so was up earlier on the Saturday. Hilton didn’t hesitate to offer us an early breakfast. He also gave me a chocolate bar as a treat for when I finished.|Such a lovely, kind person. He is so passionate for what he does here and it really shows.||This place is within a 5/10 minute walk of bars and restaurants.|We had a lovely stay here again and definitely recommend if you are looking for a b&b in this area. |||
