Our first stop in Nantucket was Walter's Deli, and we're so glad we came! We ordered the Reuben and a cold lobster roll. They take your order efficiently, and the sandwiches are made quickly. Plus, they pack plenty of napkins, which is always a bonus. The Reuben sandwich was, without a doubt, the best I've ever tried. The flavor was perfect - not too bland and not too salty. The worker was incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. I would love to come back and try their other sandwiches!

Superb! Stopped by for lunch right after I landed in Nantucket. Got the Reuben and cold lobster roll. As far as the value goes, I think you get your money's worth by coming here. The efficiency in service, taste and the cost all make this place stand out amongst other businesses on the island. There isn't anywhere to sit and eat inside as it is a takeout only.

The space is a simple service counter setup with takeout only, but don't let that fool you, the food speaks for itself. We had a small mix-up with our order regarding the quantity and temperature, but the staff was helpful in clearing it up. Once we got back to our hotel and dug into the lobster roll, all was forgiven. It was hands-down the best lobster roll we've had on our New England trip, perfectly buttery, fresh, and really packed with lots of lobster.

Tried and true business. Delicious sandwiches and salads, fast and easy. No seating. Typical pricing for Nantucket (expensive).

We ate lobster rolls from 3 different restaurants in Nantucket and Walter's was our favorite. 1) it had by far the most lobster meat. 2) the lobster salad was simple, great flavor, and the fresh lobster meat had good texture 3) perfectly toasted and crispy bun with a buttery flavor, the bun was sturdy, not soggy, and a great vessel for the lobster meat Really, executing a good lobster roll isn't hard, Walters nailed it. Get a lemonade while you're at it!

I waited in line around 10 minutes to place my order on a Tuesday at 11:30. My order was ready in 5 minutes. I ordered the chicken pesto panini and expected green pesto, but it only had a tomato sauce on it. Plus the chicken breast was breaded. It was served hot with melted cheese. It was made with quality ingredients and tasted delicious. This is counter service and no where to sit.

Best sandwiches on island. You can't go wrong. High quality, great prices. And staff are awesome!! Highly recommended

I got the eggplant parm sub and it was average. The bread was not very good. Tasted like my school library's eggplant parm sub. It wasn't cheap either. There's so many restaurants on that street so I'd just choose another if youre vegetarian.

Outstanding! I went here for lunch seeking out a lobster roll, although honestly the entire menu looked amazing. The deli is really just a counter, so you order and give the server your name and they call you when it's done. There's no seating but there are plenty of benches around The lobster roll is mayo-based lobster salad on a buttered, toasted roll. I'm not the biggest mayo fan but this was excellent - not too mayo-y but very well seasoned, and the cool lobster with the warm bun is *chef's kiss.* It's also very reasonably priced for the quality and amount of lobster they give you!

I got the godfather, their Italian sub. It was pretty good, my only complaint would be that the bread wasn't the best. The service was fast.

I've been along the New England states on my quest for the perfect lobster roll. Most rolls have an abundance portion of lobster with either cold (mayo) or hot (butter) on a typical hot dog bun. Walter's in Nantucket was a special find for the three of us. We typically share what we like and do not like about our meals. All three of us agreed that Walter's lobster roll was (hands down) our favorite. It was distinctive from other rolls as it was prepared with a bit of a citrus forward zest and - served on romaine on soft, buttered potato bread. We loved it so much we ordered two more for our trip back on the ferry. Light, savory, with a balance of citron and softness. We enjoyed this game in Nantucket! Thank you for a memorable experience! We shall return....

Phenomenal lobster roll. We first got the hot one and it was so good we went back to get the cold one. Also, their 100% watermelon juice was so refreshing and had no additional sugar added.

The best sandwiches I've ever ever had. There is no way I'm coming to Nantucket without making a stop at Walters. Fresh sandwiches. Excellent service. Takeout only.

Excellent. Biggest lobster roll between Sayles, and raw fish market. 10" perfectly grilled brioch frankfurter roll with easily 6oz of lobster meat in chunks the way it should be. Best value of the three for price and quantity, Raw Fish Market was a bit tastier have to say.

New Yorker sandwich is my go to on the island. Good value here, have enjoyed a decent portion of the menu

A small very small walk up counter . Lobster roll $34.00. So worth it. No tables . Had to find a place to sit In this small town . The Roll was very good not cheap on the lobster. The only problem was TJ he girl behind counter took my canned soda out before my order went in, so it sat on counter till the sandwich was ready . But the Roll was yummy .

It was a nice place to visit..i ordered a chicken parm sandwich and it was fine..along with a bowl of soup..now it was all fine, and we ate it at a park bench outside and the sun was warming us just enough to make it comfortable..no issues or probs making a nice afternoon..no regrets about visiting a great place to get a lunch..simple and good..no regrets about visiting..they delivered on promise to make a good sandwich and soup..and learned more about the place i was visiting.....and think a lot of people felt the same..good move!..

Ruben was to die for. The staff was very friendly and the food was out fast. We went here several times because it was quick, easy and we knew it would be delicious.

Warm lobster roll was excellent, they gave a good sized portion of lobster. Recommend it!

Got the chicken cutlet roll and was around 15 dollars after tax. It was a big sandwich and tasted fresh. I did wish the chicken breading was a little thicker and crispier but otherwise tasted good!

We had Walter's after a wedding that went into the wee hours of the morning and boy was I grateful. The bread used on the panini was absolutely delicious and the caprese featured thick cut mozzarella. Sandwiches with meat seemed to be a mile high! I haven't had late night food in a long time, but I don't ever remembering having such fresh options back home!

No competition for Lobster Roll. I had 8 in total and they were perfect every...single....time. Decently priced and worth every penny. I came to New England in search of the perfect lobster roll and found it at Walters Deli. Thanks guys..and girls.

When they say the best spots are the little hole in the wall...this place is it! It's a small corner shop not far from the dock. There is no seating but just a counter that you can order from. I ordered the lobster roll and my hubby got the chicken cutlet sandwich. WOW!! The lobster roll blown me away and definitely the best I have ever had!! The meat tasted fresh on a bed of lettuce and the softest roll. I had a bite of my hubby's chicken sandwich and it was so good! Thick chicken breast and the sandwich was about 12 inches. Value for your $$. Worth a stop if you are visiting Nantucket!

We came to Nantucket for our honeymoon and I read up on some of the better places to get lobster rolls. This is the place. The warm, buttery bread and mayo-based chunks of lobster is chef's kiss. Not overly expensive as some other places and is a great grab-and-go spot.

Went to NE. Did a touristy thing. Tried lobsters rolls here, pauli's (Boston), and alive & kicking (Cambridge). This was definitely the best out of those. Still thinking about it. Roll is warm with cold lobster salad. yum. My fiancée was able to get a veggie sandwich without cheese just fine and she liked it.

Best Lobster roll on island. I get one at least once a week. Overstuffed with lobster salad on a crisp buttery bun. Delicious.

We stopped by the place to order some lobster roll when we were in Nantucket. The lobster roll was as good as it can be coming from a Deli! We sat on a bench across the street. The staff were nice and friendly.

Total crap. Nothing in the order was right. Oredered a salad and it was not delivered. delivery person said they did not have asalad! Why ther F was it allowed to be ordered on delivery.com. The wrong sub was sent. This is not FCKN rocket scienbce. Totally piece of sh#t performance on a thursday nioght Never order from these aholes!

The lobster here was delicious, but it gave me a mild case of food poisoning. Worth it? I'll let you decide.

Great prices for Nantucket Island. I had the Caprese and my husband had the meatball. Both were awesome! Bread was good and toasted, and filling plentiful. Sandwiches came out quickly and service was friendly. Would recommend this sandwich spot.

Had the meatball sandwich tasted alright only ate half and about 30 min later I had the worst heart burn I've ever experienced and then it followed with throw up. Knew it was a bad sign when I saw them heat the meatballs up in the microwave.

Truly one of the best (maybe the best) lobster roll we've ever had! Warm bun and delicious cold but not too cold lobster salad. Will be back again. Probably tomorrow.

Best deal on the island - the subs are great - Godfather? you'd think you were in Philly. New Yorker? close as you can get to a deli corned beef special north of the City. The guys making the sandwiches are always friendly even at 2AM.

I buy a sandwich for lunch at least once a week. Godfather; New Yorker; Rubin, or Chicken, Bacon, and Ranch; or Lobster Roll...it always good. I would not eat there each week if it were not good, and taht staff is always friendly. Its one of teh few restaurants on "The Strip" (Broad St down by the water) that I will always send people to without worry.

Amazing food for a lunch. Great prices and it was the best easy eats. The chicken panini was delicious

Lobster roll was pretty good ($21 ea). I prefer mine Hot with Butter, but this was fairly good for Cold with Mayo AND it was reasonably priced. The only reason why this is not a 5 star review is because the service was slow. The teenager behind the counter worked at a leisurely pace and chose to fix the juice machines and chat with his friends instead of preparing the food we had already ordered and paid for.

The best sandwiches/subs in Nantucket and some of the best I've had anywhere. Great bread, great quality, and very filling. To go only.

I am so truly obsessed with Walter's Deli. I've been to Nantucket 3 times now and always insist on a Walter's roast beef & lobster roll. Roast beef: LARGE portion of roast beef. Great adds include cole slaw, horseradish and veggies. Get the bread toasted. Lobster roll: good helping of lobster claw meat with a good mayo to meat ratio. The bun was buttered and toasted perfectly. Comes with cole slaw on the side! Definitely worth the price given it's Nantucket. Chicken sub: large in size but only okay in my honest opinion. I wanted to love it but the sub roll and breaded chicken made the sandwich dry despite the condiments I added. The staff is always friendly and patient. Not only does this shop make amazing sandwiches but also sell drinks, chips, and candy. This takeout shop is my favorite place in Nantucket. Highly recommend. I love you Walter, whoever you are.

Good sandwiches, grumpy staff which is consistent across Nantucket. I think by this time in the season everyone just wants people to get off the island and give them a break. I get it, but it's a service economy. Sandwiches were really solid though: I got the New Yorker and my wife got the Thanksgiving/Gobbler. Great sandwiches. Cookie not so great.

Had the best lobster roll of my life at this place! I am loyal to Cru but must say this is even better. You get an overall bigger and fresher tasking lobster roll here. I loved it!!

Great hole in the wall and good location. The lobster roll is a great portion and taste amazing. The price is as expected for a lobster roll though. Their sandwiches are all great and priced fairly. My only complaint is it's right by the semis picking up loads off the ferry and they have no seating so if you want to sit it's on a street side park bench listening to the trucks. I've already been there twice though so it must not be too annoying!

Came here for that lobster roll In nantucket. I must say it's the second best lobster roll I've had. I think when the lobster roll is filled with mayonnaise, it definitely is creamy but not that good compared to the lobster roll with butter. The lobster roll had a great amount of lobster compared to the first two I had in marthas, which is a plus. The guy who took my order was very friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely delicious! So many options to choose from, it may be a little overwhelming to pick, but thats a good problem to have! Relatively quick service and nice guys working there.

This is a great place to grab a sandwich or a sub on the way to the beach. They also have a selection of chips, drinks, cookies, etc. I am a big fan of their meatball heroes. The sauce is sweet, just like I like it.
