The 20 Best Things to Do in Bangkok

"Over the past decade, Bangkok’s art scene has mushroomed from a few scattered galleries into a vibrant, thriving community. Much of that transformation has to do with Aey Phanachet’s groundbreaking contemporary art space in Ploenchit. In 2020, Tonson Gallery became a non-profit and changed its name to 100 Tonson Foundation. This was the first Thai gallery to participate in Art Basel, the Switzerland art fair, and it’s been a champion of Southeast Asian artists ever since. Despite its high-powered reputation, the gallery is open to casual art-lovers as well as collectors. You'll find art aficionados seeking greater insight into one of the most influential galleries in the region. Even if you’re merely culturally curious, the centrally located, highly accessible exhibitions make for an enjoyable detour." - Diana Hubbell, Katie Lockhart

Tiny but cool gallery which was a very welcome surprise in the heat of the day. In the cool of the gallery we watched a series of Thai video art. It was a great opportunity to delve into the contemporary art scene of Bangkok. I will definitely return next time I'm in the city. Also, it's proximity to Benchakitti Park makes it a good way to spend one awesome afternoon in Bangkok.

Great exhibition space! Interesting contemporary artist choice. Thoughtful installations. Let artist experiment and express. Porch on the outside, warmth inside

100 Tonson Gallery earns it reputations for being the finest and one of the first Contemporary Gallery in Bangkok. The gallery is located on tonson street. The same street as the Embassy of The Netherlands. Despite the narrow street and I have to agreed with other comments on here saying the the cars passing by are quite dangerous as the foot-path are very narrow and trees are everywhere. Be very cautious on commuting via foot. The place deserve 5 stars from me despite the not very convenient walking on footpath, due to the arts works selected there. Sometimes there are live performances as well. Artworks exhibited are rotates around every 2 months. Owner and staff are super friendly and kind.

Seems like it would have been interesting, but the "moveable" maze didn't move at all during my visit, just stayed suspended from the ceiling so there was not much at all to see

This is a very sophisticated venue about contemporary art. You can access this venue on foot from MRT station(chit lom ).it takes 10 mins from the station, but be careful of cars .so many cars running on the street on the way to this gallery. Sometimes this gallery has a dance performance art. In that case, that performance will be held once or twice a day.it would be held at evening time,so you should check what kind of art exhibition are they having now before going.
