Typical visit for me: walk in, sit at an open booth, check the current (and ever-changing) menu, order a selection that I may not have ever tried before, get on the phone to Lucci's Place next door and order a pizza, walk next door to pick it up, order another selection, enjoy myself. The guys and girls that work there are great--very service-oriented and very knowledgeable. They have been working on a renovation for a few months and it's all very secret! So...changes are coming! I recommend this pub. OK it's 5 months later and.... They now have shuffleboard courts inside!

The used to be a fantastic bottle shop but unfortunately the remodeling that was done replaced the bottle coolers with shuffle boards. Looks awesome but was not what I came for so a huge disappointment for me.

I love 101 Bottles! I used to come here a lot when I was in college and I've gotta say, wow! It's changed so much in the best way. I love how they have opened the interior space up with all the seating. AMAZING music, great atmosphere, huge selection of purchasable brews and a whole lotta taps. Perfect Lil patio too. Great service, very nice helpful crew. 🍻 Happy drinking!

Lots of good stuff here. I just wish the beers were organized by brewery, or style, or something. Prices are pretty good. Largest selection in the area for sure. Good stuff from Maine, Epic, Avery, etc.

Great that they had a gluten free beer! Not great to be completely ignored by the bartender for like half an hour.

Love this place and their incredible selection of craft beers, ciders, wine, etc. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and you can also order all types of kegs and beers from them that are unavailable in most stores. Can't forget about the large draft list and cute little outdoor patio you can chill and sip your favorite selections.

I hadn't been to this shop in some time, but remembered it when I was in town visiting family. They still have one of the best beer selections around (and I absolutely judge my local beer stores harsher because of this). They have a limited but good wine selection. There is an area to eat inside, but not a restaurant - you can order food and have it delivered. There are a few places in the same plaza that have food as well. The bartender was very nice (we stayed for one drink) and the bar area looks great. Plus, there is a good sized parking lot.

Super awesome bottle shop in Kent. Hundreds of different beers in coolers. A really good craft selection and not just the same old beers. Also great is the small bar in the store. Get a pint and drink at the bar or shop. In warmer seasons have a pint in outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Great shop.

I used to come here all the time until I started noticing how poorly the employees were being treated by one of the managers there named Craig. One of the bartenders served this man his drink at the same time Craig did. The customer apologized many times saying it was not her fault for pouring an extra beer and that is was his fault he accidentally ordered twice, once from each of them. Craig ignored him and said it was the bartender's fault and that she's new and needs to pay more attention. All she did was serve him a drink he ordered from her. He also talks to customers like they don't know anything about beer and is not friendly. I stopped visiting 101 after that, which is a shame because they have a great beer selection.

We dropped in for a bit before a show at Kent Stage. It's a nice little bar. The bartender was nice. They have LOTS of to go beer in coolers. I want to drop in again and research a bit.

Want a wider variety of choices? Well they have a ton and are very friendly. I always find something new and always have those craft classics that aren't always everywhere. Even coming for a evening drink at their bar, it's always a good time

This review is long overdue. We live down the street from Bottles almost a year ago, and it's quickly become one of our "go-to" places to shop for and stop to have a drink. They've got an abundant selection of both beer and wine for purchase to-go. The good news is that they have the good stuff for when you want to have a few really good drinks, and they have the cheap stuff for when you want to have a few more drinks. It's also a really nice spot to have a beer, glass of wine, or bourbon drink. They have outdoor heaters on the back side and have sectioned things off inside for COVID protection. Finally, the staff is super knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. It's an all-around great neighborhood package store.

They have a large selection of alcohol. If you're in the mood to try a variety of different beers, go here. I buy their Belgium beers and Prosecco. Customer service is always attentive, polite & easygoing. They have a small bar inside too. (But I've never tried it. I get tipsy off of 1 beer). Lol

I have been coming here for a long time. This is a great place with good seating that keeps expanding over the years. Always a great beer selection. Nice small outdoor patio. And there are few college kids.

The staff is accommodating and chill they always point me in a good direction when I'm picking out some IPAs. Great spot in kent if you like a more chill atmosphere. I have found some of my favorite beers from their recommendations.

After a long 8/9 hour drive from Clarksville TN I had to stop here Justin and Kristin and the platform guys are very beer knowledge this is a must stop for your beer dreams

We just moved here from Hawaii I got to say my husband won't stop talking about this spot this is the spot to be for you beer needs I've came here twice and both times nothing but outstanding service and knowledge of beer I didn't get the first bartenders name but today Chris pick a stout out for my husband double chocolate chip cookies I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know we will be back cause it's the first thing my husband wants when he wants a beer !! And trust me this guy only drinks Heineken so for him wanting something different means a lot thank you 101 bottles on the wall

Unless you feel like driving to Parma or the East side, there are almost no local places that come close to the selection of 101 Bottles. Even then, none of them have the ambiance. I'm a fan of craft beer, and 101 Bottles has a strong selection. Strong, but not quite outstanding. They have a lot of the "not in grocery stores" labels, but there are some gaps that sometimes necessitate a longer drive if you're looking for a particular brew. The employees are conversational and knowledgeable, and the place is clean and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Remember the show, Cheers? Well... welcome to the closest you'll ever come to being a real-life, Norm. Bottles is a great place to kick back with some friends and enjoy a great selection of beers. Their constantly rotating tap is one of the best in the area and every member of the staff really knows their stuff--especially when it comes to recommendations. Honestly, it's a rather refreshing departure from the loud, crowded bars near Main St. 101 even offers a wide selection of wines and beers you can take home, as well as a few whiskeys, cocktails, and moonshines at the bar. Yet, despite how great this place is it's still low-key and casual even on its most crowded days. I highly recommend a visit to one of their events too. Whether it's 101 Fest or any of their tap takeover nights, each one is a great time and comes with a well-curated offering from a local food truck. In short, you should come for the selection and stay for the experience. I can't recommend this place enough and if you ever find yourself in the area be sure to pop on in. You'll be greeted with a smile and will be sure to leave one of your own by the time your night is through.

I lived on Columbus Street while attending KSU and would visit Bottles for beers runs. I was a 40 oz drinker with the occasional Red Hook ESB or St. Pauli Girl on fancy days. That was long before Bottles turned into a full service bar. The selection of to-go beers is impressive as the tap selection. Flights are available and they have special events for rare releases. The KBS bottle release event is 5 days away. On my last visit I scored a bottle of Bells Black Note. I prefer this place to Riverside and it is almost worth moving back down to Kent.

Great beer selection. If you're an IPA type of person, there is no shortage of unique and quality brands and flavors to choose from.

Carry out beer and wine store with a huge selection. There is also a small bar with beers on tap and a variety moonshine! Yum! Unfortunately, consuming purchases from the carry out is not permitted on the premises but I'm not sure of the reasoning behind that.

101 bottles is an extensive beer store and also has nice, low-key bar and outdoor patio that accepts dogs. They have a huge variety of craft beers as well as a small, affordable wine selection. Their beers include local beers, American beers, and lots of imports. Because of this, the price range is pretty broad. You can get really affordable beer or some pretty bougie stuff. Personally, I love the variety of ginger beer they offers because I am all about a good Moscow mule =)

Bottles is the place to go in Kent! The staff is always friendly, the beer selection is un-touchable and the fact that you can grab a 6 pack before leaving is truly the cherry on top! I only miss living in Kent the most when I'm reminded that Bottles isn't just a 5 minute drive anymore. GO TO BOTTLES! Also, make sure to keep an eye on their events. There's always something fun going on!

One of my favorite places in Kent. Very low-key & great beer/wine list & really personable staff that knows their alcohol. The place and the environment is awesome and the set up is cute. Outdoor area to sit with friends & bar inside that is also an alcohol store. Great place!

This is a great little shop full of beer and wine. The selection is good, and every time I've been there looking for something specific I was able to get help. I've only been to the bar side once, but to the shop multiple times. If you are looking for something specific, or from a specific area, it might be found here! Prices are comparable to anywhere else!

This is my favorite bar in Kent. It's very low-key and they always have something new and interesting on tap. It's a bit pricey, but I don't really mind - I've never heard of half the breweries represented on the menu, and I know they try to source locally when possible. They don't serve food, but you're welcome to bring in your own from any of the spots a few steps away (Lucci's Pizza sells pizza by the slice, Penn Station is right next door, and both Chipotle and Five Guys are also easy walking distance) and they're starting to host events on the weekends with food trucks from all over. But the best part is that dogs are welcome on the patio!!

I love this place...most of the time. They have a great and varying mix of local and hard to find craft brews and ciders. They have some decent selections of whiskey and moonshines as well. The décor of the bar is quaint and cozy. The establishment has always been clean. Atmosphere is eclectic. A few screens show whatever local game is on...Definitely not your typical college bar scene. Servers are good but are sometimes inattentive and often are talking amongst themselves. The main store has a great selection of craft and microbrews as well as a good selection of wines, meads and ciders. They do not have a kitchen but do have food trucks from time to time which is fun. Overall a great place for the beer enthusiast who wants to relax in a laid back environment.

I was recently tasked with providing hospitality for a pop up concert. I came to 101 BOBOTW because I work in the area. I was very surprised by the selection that they have. The beer market is flooded with tons of IPA style beers and thankfully there was an excellent variety of non-IPA styles to choose from. The staff was very friendly, and they took time in between helping lots of people (it was a busy Friday night) to help me pick out 7-8 different beers to appease everyone. Turns out I am now tasked with doing hospitality every month since my selection was so well received. 10/10 will return.

Very nice location with a great selection of microbrews and a moderate selection of wine. They execute well but many places do that these days. 101 Bottles has a unique offer for a liquor store which is the bar in the back. They have regional brews on tap at extremely fair prices. You can stop in to pick up a 6 pack and have a beer while you're thinking about what to take home.

Clean and neat and VERY friendly and helpful staff! I came in with my husband who was looking for something specific and not only did the staff show us where the product was, even proceeded to describe the flavors of each and his personal opinion of each and why. I LOVED IT!!! On a whim I asked about ICE WINE (YUMMMM) and he did the same thing. Showed us the varieties, told us his favorites and why, answered questions on other brand, told us about wine tasting night and was just ALL AROUND HELPFUL!!!! I WILL GO BACK!!!!!

I don't understand smoking laws in Ohio. The amazing fresh air on the patio is completely ruined with shitty cigarette smell. Great beer selection and a decent tap selection but don't plan on coming and enjoying the outside. Amazing beer tho!!

Dope ass place. In town for work and found this little gem for a few beers. Bartenders were cook as shit. Would definitely come back.

Great selection! Just about anything you are looking for-it's there. They even have a bar. The employees are friendly and very knowledgeable and willing to help find Exactly what you're looking for.

I had the horrible experience of trying to buy wine at 101 bottles of beer on the wall. I would absolutely never give my business to this place again due to the lack of customer service. The young woman checking me out clearly had no customer service skills and was beyond rude. Sad to say because it was my first time there the place seemed pretty cool.

The expansion is awesome and the beer selection is even better than my last visit. 101 knows beer! And the service was great; earning a 5 star review. The beer selection is phenomenal service is usually very good, with friendly, prompt and knowledgeable employees. Unfortunately, the service can be god awful at times. It's really unfortunate as I love everything else about the store and bar. I appreciate most of the staff, but every now and again, I encounter a server that's clearly not cut out for the service industry.

Love this place. Excellent selection of beers, knowledgeable staff, and a really cool bar and patio. There are a few other shops in Kent, but this place kills them all in my opinion. Best selection in the area. Great craft on tap.

Great place to grab a delicious craft beer! We love their local (Ohio) beer taps. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and offers great suggestions. Also a great place to grab a six pack of different brews! The patio is a nice place to sit on a warm summers night.

Lots of beer. Hipsteryish... good beer. Not hugely a bar, but they do have a small one to sit and enjoy a beer or three. Right by Fedex Penn Station and Lucy's Pizza.

As far as selection of beer goes, it is great. They have a solid bottle selection featuring some of the greats from every beer style. There draft list is always full of everything from a local favorite (peanut butter cup porter) to some not-so-easy to get such as the current I want, but can not have all the time-- Three Floyds. Now, here is where it gets bad. I have been here 5 times since they started draft service. Three out of five I had the unfortunate luck of dealing with the rudest, most dull, and arrogant bar tender ever. I tried to spark a simple conversation, asking about the taste of a beer on draft and he nearly treated me as if I killed his grandmother. He mumbled out an answer and then began to talk to his friend who was a patron at the bar. I can get over this, BUT, each time I was there I tipped him 40% of the check average (I am a fellow bartender and always appreciate a bigger than expected tip). HE NEVER EVEN SAID THANK YOU! This happened the firs time, so I thought maybe he was busy and forgot. The second time he failed to produce one speck of gratitude toward my generosity. So, just on principle, I again, one last time tipped him and he failed to thank me. I'm sorry my friend, but when you rely on people to tip you for a living, you must show gratitude with a simple "thank you". Is it that hard? Very disappointed with the staff at this place. I will never again step foot in the establishment when this snuffy, thick framed glasses kid is working ever. Not again, not ever. I hate to go on a rant, but I am furious about it because I enjoy this place, but just can't continue to give business to a person such as him. Good luck if you decide to go there to enjoy a beer and talk to a reasonable bartender.

I like this place. I've always liked it for retail, it's been my go-to source for top shelf craft brews. Best selection in the area. You want a six? - they have it. You want a big single? - it's here. Want to mix and match? Go for it. Want a growler? Take a guess - they have 'em. Pretty much anything you want (even craptastic domestic swill). Also a wide variety of quality ciders (try the local Griffin's), plus wines and liquor. Since they opened the bar, it's become a great place to just chill. Cool, friendly, knowledgeable bar staff, and a nice range of rotating new kegs to try. Samples always available. It's classy-cool in a way you don't typically encounter in a small, middle-of-nowhere Midwestern college town. Plus it was the first place I found where I could buy Lagunitas. I really like Bottles. Go there and be happy. Cheers.

Best place to enjoy craft beer in Portage and Summit county. The beer selection changes and is simply amazing. It's also just a warm and chill place to enjoy a beverage with friends or by yourself.

Great, great place. A very clean venue with knowledgeable staff - you can find a lot of great beers and almost every vino bottle you wanted here! I wouldn't have written a review -- but I recently learned they put in a bar and immediately jumped in my car and took a gander! The beer selection is top notch. You will not find your commercial beers (e.g., Coors, Bud Light, Miller Light) but only great, delicious beers in crafty glasses!! Think double chocolate stouts, triple IPAs...AND at great prices! The bartender had great recommendations, fun facts, and enthusiasm when we walked in and were the only customers. However, my only complaint would be that, as the bar filled up with her *regulars*, it was hard to feel included or waited on. Free pretzels on the bar feels like a bar should be -- all in all: get there if you can! And early, its a small area and fills up. Welcome Bottles 101 Bar to Kent!!!

First trip: My husband and I stopped in to try the new bar and we were blown away. The selection is dynamite and we had several tasting paddles. While the service was not friendly at all we still had a wonderful time. 2nd trip: New drafts and this time a different bartender who was friendly, knowledgeable and really on top of it. He made our time a wonderful one. TIP: They will fill any growlers!

This place has an awesome variety of beer. The place is great and the staff is knowledgable. Now, when I say an awesome variety of beer, I mean for an independent shop in a little city in Ohio. I've been to places with more variety, particularly in Kentucky, but this has a lot of stuff in a tiny place. And, to make it better, they have beers on draft and a small bar where you can get them, then opt to take them home in a growler. They usually have a good variety, but there are times where it will be like ALL IPAs or just one type of beer with maybe a stout or too. Usually I'm able to find a few I like though. They have a lot of wine as well as beer too. Definitely the best place in the Akron area to find neat, craft bottles.

This place surprisingly does not fit in with what I typically expect to exist in Kent - and that is a good thing! According to my beer/stout/ale appreciating friend, the selection is varied and deeeeeeeeelicious. I myself had a few glasses of wine, and was a happy camper. They even had bar pretzels to snack on! The workers were friendly. The place looked nice. Bathroom was clean. Long drinks list. Definitely a good experience! I don't visit Kent often, but this will be a place I would go again if in the area!

The selection is great - something for everyone. And their wines aren't too shabby (they actually had some ice wine I was looking for as well). This is a Kent staple since it was here years ago while I attended KSU. So glad they have a patio and expanded their services!

I have purchased my fair share of wine and beer from 101 over the years and feel they have great prices and a huge selection. You can get excellent beer/wine advice by any of the people who work here. They recently opened up a bar area and it is awesome! The atmosphere is cool and quiet, the on-tap beers are all high quality, and you can have flights to taste a larger number while you're there. If you're looking for Bud or Miller Light you'll be sad because they don't sell those here - just the good stuff. They have a Lambic on tap and a hard cider too for those of you who don't drink beer. Wine and wireless access will be coming to 101 soon. This is going to be my new hang out guaranteed!

I love the bar so much. I come here for amazing beer and the small atmosphere. However, the service is not great. They are generally rude. Love this place. Will not stop me from coming back.

Massive selection of beer from all over, with really knowledgeable staff. Only real complaint is maybe a lack of cider, but thats just me. Store is big and open, but the recent addition of a tasting bar in the shop just makes it excellent. and also the closest bar to the Kent campus which doesn't hurt.

Outstanding selection of microbrews and very knowledge staff. Great tasting room with a good mix of styles - for a hophead like me, I was in hop heaven! I also purchased some unique 1/6 barrel kegs for the kegorator - always reasonably priced for some beers you can't get elsewhere.

Still the best place for beer in Kent, an excellent beer bar, and now Wi-Fi. What's not to love?

Everyone that works there are super friendly and knowledgeable. Their beer might of been slightly more then grocery stores but with the service and selection you get here is worth it. Their bar on the other hand is cheaper then the competitors around. Their bar has 24 taps which they constantly rotate with new beers (the old beer goes to 101 laundry). Keep in mind, this is a place to enjoy and appreciate good beers, not to get drunk. The seating is a bit cramped but everyone is friendly and the music is at a decent talking volume it isn't an issue. All in all this is my favorite place to drink, buy and discover good beers/wines. (The bar only serves beer not wine). Another note, they have no minimum at this place so if you only have credit and want to have a single drink it is not a problem.
