I only had a couple of hours off from my conference at the nearby convention center and happily ate brunch at the bar on a Sunday morning. Service was great as the bartender also hustled to keep everyone else in the restaurant awash in brunch drinks. The views from the rooftop were lovely even from the bar and the outside tables looked great (albeit a little chilly) the day I was there. I had a yummy vegetarian benedict and my friend had something equally tasty but I don't remember what. Since we were going back to work, no cocktails for us.

The food was so good everything was fantastic but the service! :( To their defense they claimed they had no idea there was a graduation today. So go on a day there isn't a ton of people that you know will be hitting them up and you should be good. The steak salad was phenomenal but honestly more steak than salad which made hubby happy since it was more meat than I wanted. He had the pork tacos which had a ton of meat and very tasty. I thought the steak was better.

Service was great we met multiple people that worked here Food was pretty good everyone was impressed. no music from what i can tell its just extremely loud because of so many people. Tbh ranch was not my type. 10/10 though.

Stopped here during my travels. This roof top restaurant is super cool with inside and outside seating. Outside they have fire pits for when it's cold outside. I ordered the Salumi Pizza and half wedge salad... SUPER DELICIOUS The service was perfect and the restaurant was super packed. Highly recommend... great views from the rooftop.

One of my favorite spots for happy hour when I'm traveling here for work! Really good food and drinks. The service is friendly and you can't beat the rooftop view of the city. The sliders, truffle fries, and pizzas are delicious and good portion sizes.

The food is always spot on. We started with the calamari. Then we shared the large portions of the gem salad with a pizza. It was happy hour and the service was super friendly and attentive. Always an amazing view of the city.

Came here and had a wonderful evening on the rooftop! Walking in, the location is actually a hotel and you're directed to the elevator to go to the rooftop. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, but if the weather allows it, I highly recommend sitting outside. They have floor to high windows that make up the "walls" so you can see outside clearly. And, when you're coming around sunset, it is absolutely beautiful. My partner and I got two drinks and their poke and it was pretty alright. Their menu is a bit bigger than other places I've seen with both small bites and fuller meals. Service here was pretty nice and fast too! Overall, I would love to come back again to enjoy some dinner, rather than just a small bite!

Really cool location. Really cool idea. But the Metropolitan Tavern was a bit of a let down. Everything from the cocktails to the food and even the service was, as the kids say these days, mid. Mediocre. Underwhelming. It left me wanting more. The service was super slow. Two members of our group waited nearly 30 minutes to get their first drinks. And every dish was pretty disappointing; the salad dressing was flavorless, the sliders desperately needed some kind of sauce/aioli, and the pizza was very bland. We were "gifted" a complimentary spinach artichoke dip and no one liked it enough to have more than one bite. We were there on a busy night, so maybe we didn't get their best. But ultimately, I wouldn't make an effort to try Metropolitan Tavern ever again.

My husband and baby and i came here for the fourth of July event on the rooftop and it was amazing! The buffet was pretty good wish their was a tad more options but thats ok! The view is spectacular and the service of the bar was amazing!!! It was a nice relaxing event to watch fire works with live music! Highly recommend the fourth if July event if ever your wondering and highly suggest trying their food

This is a very pretty rooftop restaurant inside a hotel. The staff were great and very attentive. We ordered buffalo cauliflower, broccolini, burrata margherita pizza, and a green river wagyu burger. The burger was not the favorite dish. It was just okay. The other food was very tasty. We also enjoyed some of their mocktails.

View is very nice. Got a reservation for 7:45pm for the sunset. There were so many empty tables and not that busy. Artichoke dip was good but the pita bread was too burnt. Spaghetti carbonara was too salty and I think I got diarrhea from it.

I was lucky to find this hidden gem. It is located on top of the Hotel Eastlund, directly across from the Hyatt Regency near the Convention Center. I highly recommend this restaurant/bar. This place is a roof top location with a nice view. They have indoor and outdoor space. They have a few outdoor fire pits that they light at night. They also have a daily Happy Hour 3-6pm and 9-11pm.!! The first night we discovered this place we had a small appetizer with some bourbon. Interesting fact they serve 2oz of bourbon for a great price. The second night we returned we had a great bottle of Red Blend with a Happy Hour priced pizza. Both nights we had a great time with great food and drinks at a good price. Both nights the service was great. And both nights this place was busy.

Had a work dinner here and was not disappointed! The restaurant has a great rooftop view of Portland and was so cozy! It got a little noisy and hard to hear since we had a larger group, but I think a smaller dinner party would be perfect for this location, especially on a Friday night. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. She checked in consistently and was great! The drinks were great, I had the Mango Basil Lemondrop and it was SO good! The food was also pretty good, I had some of the Marinated Skirt Steak Frites and one of the specials, Shrimp and Grits. The shrimp and grits were definitely the winner out of the two entrees. Overall this place was really nice and a fun spot to have dinner with my coworkers. I would definitely come back!

Absolutely delicious food, plentiful mimosas and a fantastic view even on a rainy day like today. Server was kind, and the host got us seated quickly. Love this spot!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Metropolitan Tavern, and it was an experience that left me thoroughly impressed. Located just a short 3-minute walk from our hotel, this restaurant is perched on the rooftop, providing an immaculate view of downtown Portland that truly adds to the ambiance. Prior to our visit, I made reservations to ensure a seamless dining experience, and it proved to be a wise decision. The timing coincided with their happy hour, and this is where our server, Kristian, truly shone. Thanks to her attentive and friendly service, we were able to savor the delectable cocktails that Metropolitan Tavern has to offer. I must mention the Mango Basil Drop and the Huckleberry Smash, both of which were delightful and perfectly crafted. Moving on to the appetizers, we opted for the Yucatán Pork Tacos and the Fried Calamari. Each dish was a flavor explosion, showcasing the skill of the culinary team. The blend of textures and flavors in the tacos and the crispy yet tender calamari was truly a treat. For the main course, we delved into their offerings with high expectations, and we were not disappointed. My son enjoyed the Salami Artisan Pizza, which was a tantalizing combination of ingredients that delighted his taste buds. My husband, on the other hand, ventured for the Snake River Ranch Wagyu Burger, and the choice was certainly well-made. The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and accompanied by a medley of flavors that made each bite memorable. As a family with specific tastes, we often have high expectations when dining out. However, I'm pleased to say that Metropolitan Tavern exceeded our culinary standards. The attention to detail, the impeccable service from Kristian, and the carefully crafted cocktails and dishes all came together to create an extraordinary dining experience. It's safe to say that Metropolitan Tavern has secured a spot in our list of favorites, and we'll be looking forward to returning on our next visit to Portland.

The cocktails and the outdoor patio are worth going for.. We had a party of eight and half the people enjoyed their food and half the people did not like their food at all so it was a toss up on the dining experience.. the pizzas were not so great were underwhelming and the ingredients were limited amount so not much flavor. The truffle fries were way overcooked and very greasy one person at the table had a hamburger that was so greasy when he bit into it grease was running down his hands and the inside of the patty was raw.. The calamari was delicious. The cauliflower bites were very good. Everyone at the table agreed that the seasoning was pretty much nonexistent on all of the dishes... Our waitress was very nice!... I won't go back for the food but will go back for cocktail hour out on the patio...

We got the fish and grits and the tacos and espresso martinis. The food was sooo good! The service was very kind and attentive. The view of Portland was definitely the highlight! Going back asap.

Went here for lunch and I ordered the Salmon Hash w/ a mocktail to drink. My friend had a salad that was apparently not very filling. She did order it with chicken but there wasn't much chicken. She also had a mocktail. We sat outside and the view was nice from the other side. I was seated where there was a view of the Denny's sign. I didn't like that the tables were so close. I felt crowded in and when the server would walk by she would bump into my chair because there wasn't enough space. The server was attentive and helpful. I enjoyed my time here.

A nice rooftop bar/restaurant on the top floor of Hotel Eastlund. I liked that they had a good amount of seating outdoor and inside. The bar area is in the center of the restaurant and that's open seating. We had a drink and a snack before going to our other event. The Huckleberry Smash was a refreshing drink for a nice day. The Burrata Margherita pizzawas ok, it was a bit dry for me. The service can be hit and miss as the bartenders get pretty busy taking drink orders for the restaurant.

Super cute restaurant downtown Portland offering good food and sweeping views of the city. Their brunch and dinner options stretch beyond the menu, so make sure you ask about their specials. I tried the "April Special" which was shrimp Alfredo with veggies and to my delight, it was delish! The food is a lil pricey but the portion size is generous. They have a number of signature cocktails, wine and brews to choose from, and the vibe is fitting for any occasion.

I ate here 2 nights in a row as it was conveniently located near Hyatt where I was staying. Food was good, service was great! Jen was our server the 2nd night, she was great! Location is fabulous if it's not raining. First night we sat inside, 2nd night outside. Inside is a little noisy, outside is great! Enjoyed the Steak Frites-delicious! Yucatan Pork Tacos were good but a little spicy. Metropolitan Pizza was tasty; especially liked the crust. Truffle Fries are a great appetizer. We finished with Apple Crisp. It was just okay; they need to peel the apples. Overall great place; would definitely come back if in the area.

We made reservations for brunch on a Sunday and requested to be seated on the patio rooftop. Upon arrival the host asked if we had reservations and told her we did. She seated us indoors next to the window. It was fine, we had a view of the convention center and the city. We assumed the patio rooftop was not opened, though the host could have told us about it as we were looking forward to it. The only good food item was the complimentary donuts they provide. Unfortunately neither of us enjoyed the food at all. I had the biscuits and gravy, my two friends had the metropolitan eggs benedict and the chicken sandwich. My dish was too salty, the others had no flavor and was underwhelming. We also had endless mimosas and a bloody Mary. The bloody Mary was not enjoyable at all. Brian was our server and he checked in on us quite often ensuring we were okay and topping off our mimosas. There is valet parking available if you can't find any street parking. Street parking is usually free on the weekends unless there is an event then it's $3/hr. Its best to carpool if you can. Overall I dont believe I will come back again.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the restaurant was terrific. Great view of the city and the food was delicious. Happy hour prices were great!

I had a nice dinner with colleagues on the roof. From the locals I talked to the rooftop location as reliably been a good spot to eat. First, the view is excellent, and the decor compliments it nicely. It is a wonderful place to have a long conversation with friends new and old. I enjoyed the cocktail I ordered, one of the house cocktails with whiskey. My wedge salad with burnt ends really hit the spot. Not too heavy, the wedge, burnt ends and accompaniments were well balanced and presented. My colleagues seemed to like their meals as well. I gather there are a lot of great restaurant options in Portland, and some of my local friends encouraged us to check them out. However for my first night in town the Cosmopolitan hit the spot.

Absolutely beautiful rooftop spot! It was a little confusing to find but, now I know to go in through the hotel parking garage. It is valet parking only, $10 for the 2 hours we were there. The menu was limited during happy hour but still a good selection. We had the Kobe sliders, spinach artichoke dip, beet hummus plate and truffle fries. It was phenomenal! There is a really good view of Mt St Helen on the patio. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. It felt like we had 5 waiters, everyone there was hustling! I will definitely be back!

The Metropolitan was one of the unexpected highlights of my recent trip to Portland. Located on the top floor of Hotel Eastlund, where I was staying, this semi upscale tavern-with-a-view was home to good beer, delicious cocktails, super friendly service, and incredibly reasonable prices (especially for a nicer hotel). During my first visit I had one of their delish house wood fired pizzas as a late dinner/nighttime snack. It was huge and only $18 during non happy hour. They also have twice daily happy hour, during which the prices get even better. I ended up going twice! The first time I tried their calamari. It wasn't deep fried (which is how I like them) so I probably wouldn't order it again. The next day I returned and had the happy hour tacos and their INCREDIBLE fries. The only thing I didn't like about this place is they're not open for breakfast. It would have been nice to have a good breakfast option within the hotel (and the "bakery" on the main floor doesn't count). I'd definitely come back here even for happy hour if I wasn't staying at the hotel. It was that good!

Come for the views and the drinks not the food. Laura was great and so kind. However our food took over an hour to arrive and when it did, it was cold and tough. Steak frites were well done, we asked for medium. The steak was so tough we couldn't even chew it. The pizza tasted frozen. The tacos were soggy and falling apart. The Kobe beef sliders came on the driest of buns. Half the items we wanted to order were randomly sold out after we had already ordered. I was really excited to go here with friends from out of town after seeing the great views for my birthday. Unfortunately was a total let down and damper to the weekend.

Great place if you are looking for: - cold pizza - being denied happy hour pricing despite arriving 15 minutes before happy hour ended - getting ignored by waiters when trying to pay and leave since your baby needs to sleep

We arrived here for lunch on a Saturday around 2 pm. While we were quickly greeted and brought to a table, it did take almost 10 minutes for a server to come over to greet us. They were not busy at all. I think there were like 4 other tables and a few people at the bar. I was honestly about to get up and leave when she came over. She did quickly redeem herself though because she was super friendly. Since it was still brunch time (perk) I asked for the waffle with chicken with some water and a beer. When the food came out, I was underwhelmed with the portion size and honestly the chicken tender was just okay. It was a little tough and the flavor was just okay. I will say that the scrambled eggs were a real winner though, they were super fluffy! Yes, I ate the food and I did enjoy it, but I would not order that meal again. I would go for the atmosphere and view though. They have a cool rooftop with awesome views.

No offense to our local SB favs but we seem to always find the yummiest food when we travel to other locales! ( could be that we use Yelp a lot ) This time was no exception. We are rarely disappointed dining in Portland (OR) but the Metropolitan Tavern really took it to 11 for us. The Metro was just a few blocks from our hotel near the convention center, (which isn't usually considered the best area for dining in town). We looked around a number of places nearby but finally landed in the Metro Tavern. The menu looked appealing with a good variety of different things to suit most appetites so we gave it a go. The setting is quite good atop the Eastlund hotel with great view in several directions from the glassed in deck. We were there for lunch and I was in the mood for some pizza ( when am I not) so I went for the Salumi Pizza with salami, pepperoni and hot-honey. I absolutely loved it and the hot honey used just sparingly enough was a fantastic compliment to the savory cheese and meats on the pie. The crust was excellent as well not too thick and not too crispy :-) We also got the Yucatán spiced pork tacos with habanero/carrot salsa. Absolutely delish and just a bit spicy, not too much for sure. Ours were actually served on homemade kinda crispy tortillas so almost like little tostadas, which gave delightful extra layer of slightly crunchy texture. They also offer sandwiches, burgers( which looked awesome), salads and a few other assorted items. Not super extensive in any one direction but the quality sure seems to be there in what they serve. They have a full bar to boot, with specialty cocktails, local wines and some great craft beers ( of course) on tap. If we're ever in that part of town again we're going back for sure.

Food and drink usually take a back seat at restaurants with beautiful views, it's no different here. The Bucatini Carbonara was more than decent as were the tacos and fries (barely a hint of truffle though), but the bread pudding was weak and the sangria just terrible. The sliders and one other share dish were just meh. My friend loved his Manhattan. The blue-haired server and a newbie provided excellent service! So come for the view, be careful where you park your vehicle, and temper your expectations on being wowed by the cuisine and you'll be have a nice evening.

The stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful the room was very nice and very cozy they even offered snacks which have a few higher prices but I digress. We stoped at the restaurant in the hotel for some nourishment and the waiter was very friendly and very helpful. Upon receiving our food the Kobe sliders and Parmesan fries were delicious. The one issue I did have was with the spinach artichoke dip it had a facial hair in it and we did not finish it for that reason. The extra star is literally for the waiter avina for being so kind the food was decent at best. I also noticed that they only serve certain foods at certain times which is disappointing some of the foods I would love to try beyond the happy hour menu. Other than that this was a moderate experience and should be worth trying

There is no denying that this restaurant is beautiful with some of the best views around. But the service, food, etc. needs some help. Some of my friends, and I attended brunch here prior to an event at the convention center. The brunch menu is pretty small as well as the portions. The pepper shakers have holes so small that the larger green pepper does not come out. We mentioned this to the waiter, and all he did was bring us another of the same pepper shaker. No Pepper!! How can they not know this I guarantee other people have complained about this numerous times. They don't serve toast/biscuits with any of the breakfast items which is extremely odd. You have to order it as a side for extra money and then they don't even have jam/honey. We asked for it, and it took the waiter about 15 to 20 minutes to find it. Strange! Prices are expensive for what you get and the coffee is not good. No Stevia either.

Food was good, I definitely will come back especially during happy hour. I'm staying here for the night and tried the food this time and work closely so I will definitely be back to try other things but the truffle parm fries and tacos were good. Service was decent, kinda slow and messed up my order but fixed it.

I'm super disappointed by the treatment and service I received here. From the greeter to the service to the food. Our waiter was extremely rude and the glares received at this restaurant made me want to leave. As a woman of color, I'm used to stares on the street but not at a dining experience. I would not recommend

This is a great place in Portland for some nice food and a good selection of beer. In this area of Portland, there are not a lot of dining options, which is interesting because this is the convention center district. We reserved for a party of twelve. Many of us had the Jambalaya and it was spicy. Pretty good. Not excellent but pretty good. A little dry. The server was not super friendly and not super getup but good enough. Great atmosphere! Inside and outside dining.

This place has a great view. Go have a drink and watch the sunset, eat literally any place else in Portland for a better experience. It's loud, the food is rough. Think Sysco truck, just barely warmed up. I wish I had read through the reviews to see that the positive ones were about the view, never the food. It was a bummer on what was supposed to be a great celebration. Don't do it!

I was in Portland, attending a work event, and this amazing little restaurant was across the street from my hotel. The ambience was lovely! Very upscale and clean and inviting. It was on the top floor of another hotel so we had a nice view out the window. I ordered the salmon dish, which was very flavorful! The salmon was grilled to perfection, and sat on a bed of grilled zucchini and mashed potatoes, and it was partnered with a grilled lemon! It was so good. I ate every single bite and was not sorry! Our waiter was attentive and friendly and engaged in some of our stories. She was funny, and we felt she really cared about our experience at the restaurant. Highly recommend this establishment, if you are in this area of Portland.

Last time I was here, it was the other restaurant that closed during Covid-19. I was so happy to here a new restaurant opened up because this is a great location with an amazing view! I came here with my boyfriend for happy hour. They have pretty good deals and the most expensive things are only $12, with the exception of pizza which is $12 for a cheese pizza and then $1 extra for every additional topping. We got the meat and cheese plate and some cocktails at 5:30pm on a Saturday. I booked a reservation, but it wasn't busy which was a bit surprising. I don't think many people know about this place yet and it's rooftop! Overall this place is pretty nice for celebrations or a date night. They also have brunch with bottomless mimosas which I'll need to check out next time!

Great view, great food, tasty drinks, great service! I recently discovered this place does brunch on the weekends. I kinda want to keep this a secret but I want to make sure this place does well so I can continue to enjoy it! We received complimentary doughnuts when we sat down. I'm not super into sweets but I did try one. Pretty good. I think I was more a fan of the lemon and raspberry sauce on top (nothing against the doughnuts. I just prefer savory to sweet). I ordered a bloody maria and it was decent. Rating of 6 of 10. Tasted just fine but nothing above and beyond. For brunch I ordered the salmon benedict. SUPER TASTY! The English muffin had cream cheese on it!! Lots of salmon and topped with capers. Service was spectacular from all staff we encountered. I already can't wait to go back!

The only good thing about this place was that our waitress was so sweet and the drinks were good. We came to celebrate my friends birthday and this place was a MAJOR let down! The food was very below average. We waited over an hour for our food. After 50 minutes they told us the calamari (an appetizer) was sold out! Someone that wasn't our waitress came over to tell us that it was sold out and she was very passive aggressive. We told her we didn't have time to wait another 30 minutes for food and gave us an attitude. she brought sliders out after 1 minute and they were so cold. We told our waitress and she took it back but we really didn't want anything else from this place. She brings out the new sliders and they were not good. The bun and grilled onions were still cold. I hoped they wouldn't charge us because of the inconvenience but they still did. The pizza tasted like a frozen pizza, the tacos were soggy and the tortilla was falling apart and the steak was over cooked and tough to eat. Overall this place is not worth it!

Wow. This has got to be the worst Thanksgiving meal I have ever had. Really awful food that came out almost cold, served 'family style', with everything running together in the middle of the plate. Prime rib was thin and dry, slathered in brown packet gravy and no way ways it 10 ounces. 'Watergate Salad' was a gloopy runny mess that tainted everything around it. Polenta cakes were just burned beyond being edible. Butternut squash soup was warm pureed squash with no cream or seasoning whatsoever. Family-style sides came out on one platter, scooped unceremoniously onto the plate with ice cream scoop, elementary school cafeteria-style. Rolls were cold and dry with no butter. Server never came to refill our water glasses. Cost was almost $200 for 3 people.

Nice spot very close to the convention center. We were in town for a conference and ate lunch here. I made a reservation through open table. Be sure to make a reservation if you can, they were turning anyone away without one! We sat outside on the patio, which has a nice view of the entire area! The pizzas were giant! I had the Herbivore pizza without olives. They took a bit of time to bring my pizza out after the other orders because they had forgotten to make it without olives. We also had one other issue with things being on a burger that were not supposed to be. They quickly fixed everything though. It sounded like they were just opening back up when we were in town, so I think they were still working out some of the kinks.

At the top of a very nice hotel, with great views, it is a shame that the food is not better. Tried both dinner and brunch and both were extremely disappointing. Service was meh and the server comped us a glass of wine, knowing it was problematic, and that things were forgotten. For brunch, the salad we asked to have dressed on the side was sopping in dressing, and we were told it needed dressing to hold it together. (it was removed from our bill, which was fine, but not what we had hoped for as a healthy salad.) The potatoes with the tofu scramble were cold and flavorless. And the tofu scramble was nothing like I had ever had - very runny and blah. Really loved the hotel - the tavern not so much. They need to take a lesson from the café on the lower level which has some very healthy & flavorful options.

It's worth noting that the restaurant takes around 25-30 minutes to serve the food. However, my experience with Metropolitan Pizza was disappointing. The pizza was undercooked and burnt at the same time, which left a bad taste in my mouth. Even though I was offered another dish, I was too disappointed to try anything else. On the other hand, one of my friends tried the impossible burger, which was decent, but it still left her feeling a bit unsure. So, it's a bit of a gamble when it comes to the food at this restaurant. But the restaurant itself is lovely and offers beautiful views.

Stopped in before going to the Van Gogh Immersive Experience. Glad I made reservations. We arrived at 4:30pm, about an hour before the Blazers crowd arrived (there were maybe 3 occupied tables when we arrived... the place was full when we left an hour later). Our server was great. Very attentive. They seemed to be over staffed at first, but then we realized that there was a Blazers game that night. The Happy Hour is great. - The truffle fries are PERFECT. My boyfriend doesn't normally eat the fries, but neither of us could stop munching. They're not too truffly and are fried to perfection. - The Kobe beef sliders are good. - The carnitas tacos are good. - The oysters are "exactly what you want" according to the boyfriend. - I CANNOT BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT THE DEVILED EGGS!!! These are some of the best deviled eggs I've ever had. They're super savory, and have a good deal of bacon in the filling UNDER the egg. Wonderful presentation. Our drinks were delightful. I know this space has been quite a few things over the years, but I hope Metropolitan Tavern sticks around. We've got a Blazers game next week, and I've already made reservations for Happy Hour beforehand.

We came here for Mother's Day. Great view but it has just a boring feel. The food was alright a lot of unseasoned food I've never had so much bland food so we had to pretty much just pick what we was willing to deal with and stick with it. It's made up by great servers and the company you bring. There are better brunch spots.

Pricey but good, very friendly ppl Salmon Benedict - for 18 bucks I expected much more salmon but it was very good, eggs are perfectly poached and salmon was super fresh tasting.
