"Pierogi Street, Humboldt Park. It began as a food truck, carting oh-so-tasty veggie + meat pierogis to the hungry masses. Now it's also a Sick Fisher-decorated eatery tucked along California Avenue, where more rad storefronts seem to open each day. The menus is simple, straightforward and fool-proof: pierogis, polish sausage, pickled beets and pretzels. Grab a seat in the sunny, open space crafted from beautiful, rough-hewn recycled lumber from Rebuilding Exchange."

Yelp
We love Lucy's for the convenience and the portion sizes! The chicken is very crispy but a little too much for me to be honest. The flavor of the bacon jam sandwich is so good! Not sure what they use but I enjoyed it. Overall, great concept but I don't think it's the best chicken sandwiches in a city with so many options.

Yelp
This cheeseburger is amazing, delicious, the sauce is incredibly good, didn't get the fries, but maybe next time, definitely a great burger, must try.

Yelp
Me and the wife tried this place based on a list with the best chicken sandwiches in Chicago. I'll have to say it was a solid sandwich, a little spicy, but the slaw balanced it out. The fries were tasty as well. Is definitely go back

Yelp
Chill neighborhood spot in Humboldt Park neighborhood. My boyfriend and I frequent when we're craving a chicken sandwich, burger or fried pickles. I have to shout out Manny - he is always so friendly, helpful, welcoming and funny. Lucy's recently started serving beer and mixed drinks on tap which is a plus. Seating on the street, inside, or a nice big back patio to enjoy.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite lunch spots! Nice staff and great food. I ordered the Bacon Jam Chicken Sandwich. Wow! This thing was humongous and delicious! It was a huge chicken fried breast topped with a lovely sweet sauce and bacon on a tasty bun. I loved it! The chicken was tender and full of flavor. Highly recommend! Must try.

Yelp
Great little place for some really amazing and simple food!! Came here on a Thursday for an early dinner and there was nobody in there which was great as I was alone. Their menu is simple and easy to decide on something. I ordered their spicy fried chicken sandwich and golden fries. It didn't take too long and it was steaming! Chicken was cooked well and was super juicy with great flavor - not too spicy but just enough it made you wanting more. Fries were yummy but seemed to be the bottom of the bag kind of deal with little pieces but still delicious. They have a few tables up front and in the back and then one giant table for singles or pairs in between. Two bathrooms down on the right. Overall a great lil place I'd be glad to comeback and have!

Yelp
Service was pleasant. Loved the way they decorated the place. Ordered the Bleu Burger which was fantastic! Also had the Porky Fries which were very good. Can't wait to try their chicken.

Yelp
Okay here we go--backyard BBQ at its peak. What do i mean by this. Back yard grilling--what do you think of when you think of it? Not sure? Need a memory lane stroll--order Lucy's. The simple menu leads one to believe that they have to be pretty talented at wielding together nostalgia and fresh simple ingredients. And I am here to tell you that is true. Favorite Pick-- golden fries. Plain and simple. THEY ARE GOLDEN in hue and a nod to the not-too-crispy not-too-salty perfection that everyone wants in a fry. They also have the skins on them which add texture and more golden-y color. I got delivery and these withstood the normal delivery downgrade. Consistency all around the box and not greasy. I grab a handful knowing they alll gonna be gucci. Second pick is the pulled pork bbq sammie. The acidity from the slaw and the sweet bbq sauce and pickle combo were to die for. Just enough bread to soak up the juice and not be soggy. Thirdly the juicy Lucy burger --I'm a big burger fan. I've had all chicagos finest and so I have high standards. This is a very very nice burger. Cheese Baked into the middle and still remains "lighter" feeling for a burger. The traditional toppings are not too cumbersome and very fresh and this is the secret sauce that they add to the burger is a nice touch.

Yelp
OMG THEE MOST FLAVORFUL FOOD IVE EVER TASTED Found this place on Yelp and the pictures got me and I'm glad I stopped with my son and he's blown away also lol. Great customer service and every bite is packed with flavor!! Literally I can say this is THEE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH IVE EVER HAD!!

Yelp
The restaurant was nice and clean and there was plenty of seating available. The service was a 5/5 but the food was less than ok. The cheese sauce on the fries had no flavor at all and the chicken sandwhich lacked flavor as well. The chicken sandwich tasted a little over cooked. It was clearly a chicken thigh, but the chewy/dry parts were still left on the meat and should have been trimmed off prior to dredging. Additionally, the chicken had hard dried out parts. They get 2 stars because the cashier was great.

Yelp
OMG this little spot has it going on! Everything was fresh and delicious down to the milkshakes!

Yelp
Between me and my boyfriend, I think we both agree that this is now one of our top fav fried chicken places in Chicago. Located right by Humboldt park! Street parking was fairly easy to find during a Sunday afternoon. This joint gives off vintage vibes. They have patio space in the front and in the back - perfect for the spring/summer time! Ordering was very easy. Their menu is large enough for everyone to see - no squinting necessary (for someone who is nearsighted). They serve burgers, chicken sandwiches, sides, milkshakes with or without booze, how fun. Bacon jam chicken sandwich: This sandwich. Chef's kiss! I've had alot of fried chicken in my life but this was pretty darn good. You get a pretty big piece of chicken on the sandwich. Now looks may be deceiving because the chicken looked pretty heavy but it was actually lightly breaded to perfection. The chicken piece wasn't overly thick or overly breaded where it was overwhelming. The overall sandwich wasn't super greasy either. The combination or the bacon, bacon jam, and chicken was phenomenal. If you are into the sweet and savory combo then this sandwich is definitely for you. I had good amounts of bacon bits and jam with every bite. The bun was nicely toasted and not soggy at all. Golden fries & Lucy's secret sauce: Fries were just as great. Crispy and not soggy. I paired my fries with a side of Lucy's secret sauce.

Yelp
absolutely scrumptious burger & fries, and pulled pork sandwich was amazing (had a taste of my friends'). it was also just a really cool spot to hang out for a while as we ate a great meal together. BIG fans of the music and art in the space. good service too!

Yelp
I am from out of town and I visitied this place over the weekend with a friend. First, this place claims to be the best chicken sandwhich in Chicago. That is a lie. The sandwhich was disgustingly bland, they do not have salt and pepper on the table to add any flavor to this bland tasting food. The food is extremly over priced. This is a common tactic for restaurants who believe the hype from the people in its neighborhood. One chicken sandwhich alone, no fies and no drink cost over $12. My friend had the Buffalo Blue chicken sandwhich. Unless you like a soggy sandwhich, stay away from this one. They put so much sauce on in that it makes the bread nasty and soggy. Just two chicken sandwhiches and two orders of fries totaled over $40! Yes, you heard me. No drinks included. I ate only 1/3 of my sandwhich. If I pay a lot for food I am going to do my best to eat it. That should tell you how bad the food was. I would simply describe it as expensive trash. My friend told me when you come to Chicago expect to pay "Chicago prices". That is such a B.S. response. I did complained to the establishment about the outrageous prices. They need to know when their food is good and when their food is bad. They also need to know when their food prices are fair and when their prices are extremly high. People of Chicago should never be comfortable with being taken advantage of just because you live in Chicago.

Yelp
Give me all 5 of those stars. Excellent spot. Menu is outstanding and food is great. Burgers were awesome. I went with the chicken sandwich but had a taste of the juicy Lucy. Well cooked and very flavorful. The chicken sandwich was seasoned perfectly and tasted excellent. My only regret is I should have ordered an extra dipping sauce. Fries were tasty and the service was excellent. I really liked this place.

Yelp
Biked about 30 miles round trip for the sole purpose of coming to this place (and of course the bike trip in and of itself). It was pretty delicious! I love a good crispy fried chicken sandwich and this is definitely one to try. Not very oily, crispy, and flavorful! I ate it in a few bites i think.... The only thing I would say is that i wish it was a bit...or a lot more... spicier? Or at least have the option to do so. Either way, I can't wait to come back again and try it again or perhaps try some of their other tasty looking options on the menu!

Yelp
Delicious food! I love a good chicken sandwich. I have high expectations for them and Lucy's meets them. I have come back frequently and tried every version they have. I loved all of them. The coleslaw is not a very good side but the honey butter sauce that comes on the side is. Service is nothing special, you order at the counter and sit wherever you want so it's not bad, it's just not much interaction. It's not very fancy either but it has a nice old school vibe to it. I'll be back soon to try a Juicy Lucy!

Yelp
I never heard of Lucy's until I saw it on a friend's Instagram and it looked amazing! I saw that they serve Fried Chicken and Burgers so I knew a burger review had to happen. I ordered carryout around 5:30pm on a Saturday and I think it was ready in like 5 minutes so I rushed over to pick it up. The drive was only about 10 minutes for me. I ordered the Classic Burger with Cheese Fries and Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The burger was good and it's very comparable to Small Cheval and The StopAlong. Loved the pickles and the onions as they had some crunch! Bun was a little dry and I thought the patty needed some flavor as it was a little dry. I thought the spicy chicken was good and it had a small kick, not overly spicy (I have a high spice tolerance). The chicken filet was big, but I definitely bit into some gristle, which I hate. Wished the slaw had some more creaminess. The fries were solid though! They were very crispy, salty, and I thought they traveled extremely well. Cheese sauce was solid too. Prices were cheap for Chicago, portion sizes were huge, and service was solid. Overall, Lucy's is a good place to eat at a great value. The burger is probably better dining in as I thought it was dry doing carryout. I wouldn't totally go out of my way to get Lucy's, but I would stop by again if I am in the neighborhood!

Yelp
I just saw this place when I was walking and I tried the food. The food tasted great! For the price, the food was pretty worth it. I would say its fresh, flavorful, and hits the mark in terms of convenience! Since the burgers are wrapped in the triangular paper, there's no worry about spillage! Even though we ordered about 30 min before closing, they were still able to accommodate our order. Overall, a great experience for the price! They're so generous with ingredients. Thank you, Lucy's!
google avatar

Rebecca G.

Yelp
The food and service is tremendously welcoming and worthy of another visit next time we are in Chicago! The classic burger is just what I was craving and the fries are made fresh right there so ate every last one of those golden little nuggets of tater!
google avatar

Ellie K.

Yelp
Lucy's was YUM! I got the tenders and fries as well as fried pickles. The tenders were juicy- crispy outside soft inside, Fries tasted fresh and fried pickles were delicious! I expected the fried pickles to be more like round flat pickle slides but they were pickle spears so they were more pickle-y than I expected. Just something to keep in mind. The service was bit on the slower side, but overall I will definitely go back and order those delicious tenders and fries (the fried pickles were good too but perhaps too much?)!!!
google avatar

Tim M.

Yelp
Duh-mazing! (The kind of amazing that makes you say duh) I had the signature spicy chicken sandwich with fries. It was delicious, juicy and fresh. I had to keep checking that it was cooked because I could not believe that it was that tender. Fresh cut fries so good he would think they had hired a fry specialist just for me. Decent selection of beers, regular soda and kind of off-the-wall selection of bottled sodas. My buddy got the BLT burger, and it looked so good. I was tempted to steal some of his. Guys don't normally do that, but I did anyway. Menu has a variety of different things, and I plan on going back and knocking every single one of them off the list. A definite must try!

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood and stopped at Lucy's for the first time in a while. What have u been doing sleeping in this place?!? The service was wonderful, the woman at the counter was welcoming, had helpful suggestions and was very pleasant. The food was phenomenal and we ate it in a clean causal setting. Highly recommended

Yelp
Lucy's in Humboldt Park is super cute and has a casual music diner vibe that make a great spot for catching up with friends. Seems like you can't go wrong with whatever you choose! Got a burger and cheese fries, very filling for a decent price.

Jackie P.

Yelp
I used to love Lucy's! What I have noticed over the past couple of years is that if you order delivery, you basically get screwed. The fries I got tonight were so overcooked, they were inedible. The past few times I've ordered, I got the bottom of the barrel fries-like the bits and pieces at the bottom of the fryer. I'm sorry, Lucy's, but I've tried at least 3 times now and that's on me. But it's on you to get simple things straight. Bye.

Yelp
Wish I could leave a no star review. Customer service is horrible. Never been to this location and wasn't even greeted... came with my wife & kids and sat down so we can get out of the way. Waited 10mins to be told that we were suppose to order at register, like I was suppose to know... maybe if they paid attention and weren't on their phone we could have been properly greeted and instructed that we must place order at register before seating... I'll never come here again. Staff are young and disrespectful... also the location is super small and gloomy, the ambiance felt dull...
google avatar

Jose C.

Yelp
We came here for a quick dinner bite. The young ladies here were dry welcoming with smiles and with positive attitudes. They seemed more busy with takeout orders than actual dine in customers, but they handled it all well. They apologized for the wait, but I felt it was a fair time. The wife and I both ordered their Original Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It came with American cheese, two thick ass pieces of chicken and cole slaw. The chicken was so fat that it was hard to get an actual bite from top to bottom. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The cheese was unnecessary, and doesn't nothing for this sandwich. The cole slaw is could, but would help if the chicken was actually spicy, so the cole slaw could help your mouth cool down. But it wasn't spicy. They do bring out a very spicy sauce that you can pour on the chicken, but I feel like the seasoning should have some heat to it. We also ordered fries, they were good and tasted like something you'd get a hot dog joint. Overall, we enjoyed are meal as it was very filling, and they had great customer service. Not sure when we'll be back, but we'll make it back eventually.

Jon D.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed Lucy's food and their employees have always been friendly and nice. But I can no longer support this business. The continuously allow their delivery drivers to put their deliveries over the safety and well being of others in the community by allowing them to park in the bike lane. There is an alley directly behind the establishment which I have seen deliveries being made. It makes no sense to allow this behavior to continue when there is a solution to the problem, using the alley for all deliveries. Until this behavior changes, I will no longer be coming to this establishment for anything.
google avatar

Eda X.

Yelp
Excellent service, plentiful delicious burgers and appetizers. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's solid. Fast turn around for seating and just an overall comfortable causal burger joint to dine!
google avatar

Yelp
Not too impressed......waitress was kinda unwelcoming (not rude but not hospitable). Food was...just ok. Chicken was crispy but flavor was just ok. Being a southern girl, high expectations for fried chicken. double patty burger was good. The patty had a hole in the middle where the cheese oozed out which was a nice surprise. But in all honesty, doesn't beat au cheval or small cheval.
google avatar

Naquiyah C.

Yelp
Got to say the burger was massive!!! Reasonable pricing for great quality food Got the signature chicken and was not disappointed at all!! It was packaged well especially the drink. I have had drinks spill or open up in the bag but they had a great idea of wrapping it separately and it came all intact!! Will be ordering from here more often for sure!!
google avatar

Raymond W.

Yelp
Was dropping my daughter off for a party in the area and stumbled upon Lucy's. What an incredible find. Not a huge place but with the outside seating it'll do. Their burgers and fries was amazing. Their selection of draft is enough to make you indecisive. Overall a be very pleasant surprise.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a great local spot. Cute decor and good burgers! I wish I was aware that if you order through grub hub/Yelp app for pick up, the prices are $2-$3 more per item! That adds up fast when you put in a big order especially when you pay more and are picking it up. I'm this isn't the restaurants fault because they have to give Grub Hub commission but it's something to be aware of if you plan to pick up , call in your order.
google avatar

Mandy R.

Yelp
It was ok. My husband is vegan and enjoyed the impossible burger. I got the spicy buffalo Bleu cheese chicken sandwich. The chicken was mostly fat and breading, though, so I was disappointed. The spicy sauce was tasty but not overly spicy. The Mac and cheese was bland, though I actually enjoyed it. Who doesn't like cheese pasta anyway? The fries were good but seemed to be a lot if tiny pieces. They were salted appropriately. My husband liked the fried pickles but, again, it just felt really heavy unnecessarily. He would have preferred just pickles. We were underwhelmed overall especially given all the positive reviews. And it's not cheap.

Jaime R.

Yelp
Tried both the spicy chicken sandwich and cheese burger, great sandwiches! Had a tasty fruity cocktail that really hit the spot. Super friendly counter staff
google avatar

Al S.

Yelp
Exactly what I needed after a rough day. The spicy chicken sandwich with a Stiegel hit the spot. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, and fast service at a reasonable price. It's like high quality fast food. Perfect for lunch time

Yelp
I read a few reviews on yelp and bookmarked this place. Since I was off on President's Day (on a Monday) it was closed. FYI Lucy's is closed on Monday's. I was a bit disappointed but I return on a regular day it was opened. When I walked inside I was greeted by two cute smiling friendly faces. I ordered the famous signature award winning spicy fried chicken and fries. The chicken sandwich alone is fulfilling and delicious. Lots of delicious flavors, crispy and juicy. The sandwich and fries is worth the money. Just a note: The chicken sandwich alone is huge and sure to fill your tummy. A classic cozy retro restaurant with a bit of an old school vibe. The playlist playing inside will have you jamming in your seat. I really admire the old school casual vibe in this place along with the delicious food A true hidden gem located in Humboldt Park Great Service & Food Nice Music from the 50s, 60s & 70s

Yelp
Came here for the Buffalo chicken sandwich. It was good, liked the balance of the blue cheese with the Buffalo sauce. It didn't really taste like Buffalo sauce, but it was spicy. Buffalo sauce seemed like it lacked some butter and vinegar. Blue cheese was on point and they load you up. Only reason this gets a 3 is because the chicken itself and the sauce was room temperature. I don't come to eat room temperature sandwiches, that food better be served hot. Cool looking patio in the back, host was extremely friendly. Would recommend, just ask the food to be served hot lol.
google avatar

Nolan F.

Yelp
9/8/18 Mmmm love those milkshake and fries!! Milkshake not terribly thick and I like my fries crispy yet soggy. Spicy chicken sandwich was okay. I think it was smaller and had more breading than I had hoped
google avatar

Marcus S.

Yelp
Below average over priced food. 18.50, including tip, for a burger and soft drink. Absolute waste of my hard earned money. Culvers and Wendy's do way better burgers for considerably less money. Very disappointed. Additionally, not the most hospitable staff. Clerks processing orders. My suggestion to you - FORGET ABOUT IT! P.S. Lucy, pull your head out of the sand. Up quality of food and sense of hospitality.
google avatar

Mayo M.

Yelp
Lucy's has one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. We went with the original double meat... WOW! First, it's humongous... chicken is literally extending 3-4 inches beyond the bun in every direction. As far as the taste.. it's incredible. Crispy exterior yet juicy and tender chicken.. brioche bun that someone is able to support all the chicken.. slaw, pickles.. it's a magnificent work of art really. Can't wait for my next!

Yelp
Great fast friendly service and always a delight to visit this local fried chicken restaurant. I consider this place a gem and would recommend it Food - I usually get the classic Lucy's Fried Chicken sandwich. It's huge with the right balance of slaw and cheese. I also enjoy the jalepeno cheese fries. Always hits the craving Value - Just a little over budget friendly but still reasonable Decor - Comfortable indoor, outdoor, and back patio vibes provide a variety of seating options with decorations that make it feel like a proper fried chicken joint Service - The service has always been very friendly. I have yet to have a bad experience Worthy of revisit - Yes. Most def... I have been going here for years and still would recommend it. Any one who tries to compare this sandwich to chick fil a or any other fast food place has no idea what they are talking about.

Yelp
Placed a murder via Grubhub and delivery was on time. The note attached to the bag was super cute, great detail. I had the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and aioli sauce. Meal was soooo yummy, but a bit messy. The cheese didn't add much to the sandwich, it could come without it

Yelp
Typical Friday night - or so we thought . Came into Lucy's for dinner - we've never been . We ordered the chicken sandwiches , fries, and fried pickles (which btw is WAY too much food for two people). After sitting down and waiting for our order we noticed that a man stole someone's purse and walked out - as soon as we recognized the cashier immediately bolted out the door and tried to catch him. Unfortunately he didn't catch the guy but was super helpful in helping the girl out . So that alone gave this restaurant a 5 star . But I know you guys came for a food review - the food is AMAZING. The chicken sandwich is cooked perfectly and just the right amount of spicy, the French fries are fried really well and there's a heaping amount , the fried pickles are Spears - so for once you're not getting all fried dough but actually getting pickle. Without a doubt will return.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with the food at this location. Huge and perfectly cooked fried chicken breast sandwich. Service is always good and the place is nicely decorated.

Yelp
Tried Lucy's for takeaway a few weeks ago - it was busy which gave me high hopes. We ordered a burger, cheese fries, and the fried chicken. It was a long wait and upon getting home realized they didn't add the chicken. I was annoyed but went back - to make up they gave us another sandwich, the chicken bacon jam and more fries. The Fried Chicken with Bacon Jam was sooo good! The best sandwich there in our opinion. Great next day leftovers heated in the oven (even the fries). Will be back again but steering more toward the chicken side of the menu.

Yelp
This is now one of my Top 5 burger places in Chicago! I've been on a quest since I moved here, so it's great when another gem is found. I found this place when in the area and in search of a good, not overly expensive meal. I saw on Yelp(!!) that it has a casual vibe, so off I went. First, the lady at the register was SO nice, friendly, hospitable...everything you'd see if a friend had you over for dinner. Second, they're known for their burger and spicy chicken sandwich. Both looked fantastic. I opted for the burger as it came sans pickles (not my jam). I skipped the fries and immediately regretted it after seeing that they have equal sized pumps for ketchup, mustard, and...wait for it...garlic aioli!!! Are you serious?! They know me so well! I got a bottled Mexican Coke, too, which is always tasty. Everything was great. Ambience was reminiscent of Nashville; old records and colorful. I'll be back soon!
