10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits

Quickly became one of my favorite whiskeys and they make an incredible old fashioned! My wife and I swung by after lunch as I love checking out distilleries in places we visit. We received a warm greeting and browsed their cocktail menu as we were both in the mood for a little something. The old fashioned was recommended and it did not disappoint! Easily one of the best I’ve had…it was so good, we came back the next three days to have more! My wife wasn’t drinking at the time but they had a great assortment on na drinks so we could enjoy some libations together. The atmosphere was great, the staff were super friendly, and it’s a great story behind the start of it all. This is a must stop if you’re in town!

Love this place! From their spirits, to the service, their ambience and swag.. it's ALL GOOD. This was my 2nd time here and we stopped in before (dinner) then again after.. also enjoyed one of their cigars! Taylor was FANTASTIK💯✌🏽

We had a great experience at 10th Mountain! The Bourbon, the Rye and the Cordials are our favorite. The staff is always inviting and super friendly. We will be going back! Update: Stopped again and Andy was great, thanks for always being a great place to stop!

Dropped in for a drink. Got a maple syrup old fashioned. Drinks are $25 each, but the bottles was only $50, so i did take a bottle home with me. Drink was very good though.

Mark the store Manager was extremely nice and helpful and knows what he is talking about. I was in the Army for 30 years and retired this March so I’m happy to support a Military themed/owned store and idea!! The gjrls in there were very helpful and nice. I HIGHLY recommend this store.

We were there on Friday night. 7/11. Great bar. The band was jamming and the drinks were great. Only downer was the woman bartender. Very arrogant and looked put out each time we ordered. Maybe she was having a bad day.

Will add to the string of arrogant staff reviews. Was legitimately interested to hear the story and try the whiskey at the Vail farmers market. Unfortunately both staff members at the tent weren’t interested and I was ignored. Will update if I ever try the whiskey but now seems like a long shot.

We had an awesome tasting experience here! We tried the vodka, the moonshine, the bourbon, the rye, the brandy, and the cordial. One really interesting bit was that you really could smell a hint of sage in the sweet cordial. It was a major toss up which one we liked best but we ended up leaving with a bottle each of the vodka, the brandy, the cordial, and some glasses. Our staff member Chris was super friendly and kind. Great atmosphere, fun merchandise, and awesome spirits. Keep it up guys!

First Time Here We walked by this place a few times while in town. It's just past the Covered Bridge and next door to Kemo Sabe. Stop by for a Bourbon or Whiskey Full Pour for $12 and an amazing window view of the creek while sipping on our drink. We came here for a last stop of the trip. It was a perfect end to reflect back on our Vail trip and the amazing family time. Stop by to do the same!

Best ambiance if you are looking for a little bit of nature with your cocktail- large windows open up to Gore Creek. Can't be missed if it's open.

Just took my wife here and had an amazing time. The female bartender was extremely knowledgeable about all the whiskies they offer. Extremely friendly and professional . The 115 pour is incredible. Awesome place. We will be back.

So many options, even if you don't like whiskey! A bit pricey for a cocktail or pour of spirit but the service was great and tasting room is open and inviting. They have specials on the wall that are seasonal and change up often. I believe you can taste the spirit before ordering a full drink but I jumped right in with their Easy Way Down moonshine cocktail. It was a bit rough, as a lot of moonshine drinks are. i wish it was a little smoother, but it is what it is. They have a large area for merch including infused maple syrup and clothing. The building is very cabin esk and gives that mountain feel. Cute place to stop for a drink while shopping in vail Village.

I went in on recommendation from a hometown(Kansas city) bourbon page and was not disappointed. The bartender was super helpful and walked me through a sampling of all of the barrel aged spirits. He then gave me some special to the store bottle options for purchase which were all delicious but a little more than what I was wanting to spend. All in all it was a great trip in and if you're in Vail and want to try some local spirits, this place will not disappoint.

Love the folks and the spirits up at 10th Mountain! Everyone from the greeters to bartenders were a pleasure to interact with. I've been a couple of times, and they always have a big table set up out front. If you stop by, they'll offer free sample pours of any kind! I thought this was a huge win. I'm the gentleman out front, Clark, is one of the main people of the village! He seems to know everyone there! Ask him anything about the spirits or village and he will help! The shop itself is well decorated and cozy inside. There's a few nice wood tables, and a big tv out back for sports. They have quite a few fun things to buy, I got a flask and my girlfriend a hat. The whisky barrels and glassware looked very nice. I also opted for a previously sampled bottle of Rye, with its smoky and spicy finish. I enjoyed it over the bourbon, not something I often do! I found their Cordial to be delicious as well. I will be back very soon for a bottle of that! On the social media side, Morgan is very responsive and kind, and clearly trying to grow the brand. I didn't get the names of the two gentleman in the bar on Sunday, but they were great too. Thanks, and I look forward to new creations!

Such a cool spot! Love having so many options for the create your own drink! Fun to hang out with friends, and, the bartenders were knowledgeable & fun to chat with!

If I were to open my dream whiskey tasting bar, it would be exactly this. Perfection!

This is a comfortable rustic venue with a sitting area, and high top tables that show off the different whiskeys and the award medals. Spirits include bourbon, rye, brandy, potato vodka, and cordials. We tried the award-winning golden amber rye that tasted a bit spicy. It was very nice. Ask how to do the tasting. It's similar to wine tasting, but a little different. Cocktails are also on the menu. We tried a bourbon with Fireweed, a flavor of Thai chilies and mango with honey. It was good. Also available is Maple Syrup that has been aged in the 10th Mountain American Oak Bourbon barrels. Check out the quality gear and souvenirs such as cigars, cycling shirts and 10th Mountain signs. Located near the free parking garage, look for the stairs that go up to the tasting room.

Great tour! Connor was very gracious and knowledgeable. When it came to tasting, we learn a great deal from him. Can't wait to visit again!

What a great place. First of all, the staff is so nice: Andy, Cass and Ryan. We have a young family and everyone could not have been nicer while mom and dad sample some terrific samples. The old fashion was fantastic. Unfortunately, because we live in Illinois, we can't ship product back home. Went to the web site and we'll most certainly have all the mixtures sent home. Great place to stop by and have a cheer.

Like so many other craft distilleries, the spirits are just OK. However, they have a great tasting room with fantastic views, the staff was very friendly, and the military appreciation was awesome. I would highly recommend stopping in for a spirit tasting, a cocktail, and/or buying a bottle of Whiskey for your collection.

I would absolutely recommend this place!! Our group loved all of the drinks we tried and had a wonderful time! The server who helped us was able to answer every question we had and even recommended some awesome drinks! The whole atmosphere is very comfy and inviting. I would recommend going in the middle of the day when majority of people are skiing. At night it does get very busy!

If you're in Vail, this place is a must stop at. The ambiance is fantastic, the staff is knowledgable and truly outstanding! And the Bourbon? The bourbon is even better. Don't leave without a bottle!

What a nice finish to our day here in Vail! The group of us had a taste of everyone of their selections. I had a hot toddy with their cordial...very nice, very smooth tasting. The hubby had the whiskey. They have a few other choices of licor of and they will add your choice of flavor. Small space and it was a little full when we arrived so we had to sit to get accommodated, but overall excellent service!

Experience was great! First time there and thought it was a treat. Cost was about $30 per 6 tasters, and well worth it. Our group had varying interests so it was fun to be able to try vodka, moonshine, whiskey, borbon, brandy, and cordial with the tasters. But they do allow you to pick and choose if you don't want to try them all. They also offered some mixed drinks that looked interesting. No one in our group tried them but they sure sounded good! People in our party also walked away with some bottle purchases. In our party, the favorites were borbon, cordial, and whiskey.

Vail Village is such a beautiful and charming place to visit. The 10th Mountain Whiskey Tasting Room is exactly that. It's a comforting tasting room with a warm feel to it. There is a couch and comfortable lounge seaters in the back along with other seats along the wall peering out towards the water. It's such a great place to grab a drink and spend time with friends. They make five different spirits. You can taste each one individually for $4. A full glass is $8. You can also do a tasting of all of them! Besides the spirits alone, they have a few special infusions. They are not a full service bar so they don't serve mixed drinks. However, they do have unique infusions. I tried a lavender peach vodka. It was very tasty but did not taste very much like vodka. It was heavier on the sweet end. The BF tasted an old fashion rye infusion. On the other end, his was very strong. Besides drinks, they have some small snack bites like nuts and popcorn!

Did the flight and then a couple more shots. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Great products!

Great location that we just happened to find. Connor was amazing and super knowledgeable. Tasted the top 5 items and enjoyed the barrel 50/50 of rye and bourbon. I normally do not like sweet cordials but had to buy a bottle of the peach vanilla nectar. We will definitely be back and looking for locations that carry these products.

I stopped in here with some lunch after grabbing a sandwich nearby to experience a fun cocktail. Our server Andy inside was friendly and knowledgeable about the different options and made good recommendations. The inside was cool as well with some outdoor seating. The prices were a bit on the higher end but it's important to remember the area and the homemade beverages. I'd recommend a visit in!

What a cool place. The 10th Mountain whiskey tasting room has a hutte feel, very cozy inside. Just like coming in from a ski tour and needing to warm up. We tasted the rye, bourbon, and cordial and all were very good. Tip/ they have a 10% military discount.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM THIS COMPANY. The alcohol may be good, but they have yet to deliver the single bottle of Bourbon that I ordered more than two weeks ago. They cannot even tell me where the package currently is. Customer Service is poor. The Company's response when I asked for a tracking number was as follows: "While your order is in transit we lose a little visibility as it makes its way." This is unacceptable service. It's unacceptable not to know where a product a customer paid for in full is located or when it will arrive. Maybe one day i will receive the alcohol I ordered. Not too hopeful. Funny thing is, i can't get a refund until the alcohol is delivered per their customer service support. Guess I am shit out of luck.

What a charming place in the heart of Vail Village! I was amazed how warm and authentic it is. A mix between old west and industrial decor - they have bar stools and tables made out of oak barrels. Staff was incredibly friendly and helped us craft the right drinks we wanted. The bartender was really knowledgeable and engaging. All they serve is their own traditional spirits which makes for a smaller cocktail menu, but high quality. You can choose from their speciality cocktail list, or mix and match to make your own. The Alpenglow Cordial was incredible - flavoring vanilla and carmel. Next favorite is the Bourban. It seriously tasted like drinking a sweet and savory butter! We loved it so much we ended up buying two to take home. The country band, Austin Rose was also playing - creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place!

This is a great spot to sit, relax, drink whiskey. Just go! Seriously, really neat inside. Nice bar tender. Great tastings. We wound up staying way longer than anticipated, just a cool atmosphere with really good whiskey. What else do you need? We wound up taking a bottle home.

The whiskey is delicious and the tasting room is in a great little spot in Vail! The seating outdoors was particularly nice in this current environment and we all enjoyed our whiskey on the rocks. Indoors was very clean and nice, as well as on brand! Felt like a great place to taste whiskey! This whiskey is one of my favorites and I'm always happy to have a drink on the patio. Nice work 10th Mountain. We are loyal to your whiskey!

The service here was friendly. We stopped on the 4th of July so it was pretty busy while everyone was in downtown Vail. There were a number of pretty tipsy people doing shots off skis. The whisky was decent.

Yes, we love the craft (the bourbon, rye, moonshine, and vodka are worthy of every single medal they have won ... and MORE). We're very excited to pick up some locally in Atlanta if we ever go home ... AND, it's the people that make the 10th Mountain Whiskey experience so amazing: Mark (our perennial favorite), Katie & Chris (hearts as big as their smiles), Melissa & Andy (new for us and old friends already) made every visit memorable. Even Steve was a joy! The whiskeys and vodka we can get anywhere ... the crew is only at the tasting room! We're huge fans!!

I've been to 10th Mountain 3x this summer and have had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Mark each time. Not only is he very knowledgeable, he is also very personable, funny, and entertaining. Hopefully next time we come Mark will be working! Can't beat employees like him!

As we walked up, we were greeted by Mr Pippin Yoda, a sweet German Shepard, this set the mood for a friendly tasting experience. The atmosphere is relaxing and the spirits are delicious! We try to seek out local distilleries whenever we travel; I highly recommend stopping by and saying hello to Mr Pippin, and whoever is there to help him run the place!!

Superb location ~ Who could resist stopping in? Peeking in @ the expert staging of the products, barrels, & merchandise made me curious. Inviting Old West decor hit a high note for Ambiance. The friendly professional Ambassadors lead me through a tasting (Flight of 5 ~ $20) like none other. That sofa just got more & more comfortable! Alpenglow Cordial ~ To-Die-For!!! I agree with the suggestion to serve a bowl of ice cream with it! Now that would be the icing on the cake! A couple of hours later, I was walking on air to my condo.

Came here on a whim and couldn't be happier! Met with Mark who gave some fantastic recommendations (I'm not a whiskey drinker but the vodka was fantastic). My husband enjoyed the Rye and Whiskey. They also have a pickle vodka that is pretty amazing (even if you don't like pickles, just try it... trust me!)

Great whiskey spot to stop in. Mark, the tall handsome guy, was a wonderful host and talked us through exactly what we should have. Love that weekly they have different whiskey infusions so there is always something unique to try!

The service was absolutely phenomenal I can not recommend this place enough!!! The drinks were so delicious, the tasting of the whiskeys and spirits themselves... SO GOOD! We got some bottles to take home and stopped here twice in one day while we were there in vail. Ryan was so personable we felt like we knew him for years after just the day!

I took my dad here to whiskey taste as a birthday present last night and we had a really great time. It's a laid back, cool environment and we were exited about the live music that was happening. Great music, even better whiskey (and vodka!). There were five tastings total- two vodkas, two whiskeys, and a dessert whiskey. They are a fairly new company and already distributing as far as California- I look forward to buying bottles back home. Mark was working behind the bar last night and was a highlight of our visit. He was extremely knowledgeable of the products and a lot of fun to interact with. Thank you Mark! And thank you 10th Mountain Whiskey!

Our evening at 10th Mtn was mostly positive, but an unfortunately interaction with an angry, inebriated employee spoiled it. For most of the evening, the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. We tried a number of different whiskeys and spirits, including the vodka, bourbon, rye, cordial, and moonshine. We enjoy high-end whiskeys, and the various 10th Mtn offerings were respectable. Again, we appreciated the bartender's knowledge of their spirits, and that part of the experience. Near the end of the evening, a person who'd been drinking on the other side of the building started yelling. At first, it was just odd . . . then my wife said, "I think he's yelling at us?" It was strange, and not what you'd expect in Vail? Then it got stranger. This guy gets up and goes behind the counter. For all I know, it was probably the owner. In any event, it was a wholly inappropriate way to interact with a guest. We will not be back, and I unfortunately cannot recommend.

One of a kind delicious cocktail. I had the berry cocktail with bourbon.. I think it was strawberry basil and honey? Sooooo good!! On a recommendation from a friendly guy at the t shirt shop we headed in for a drink. I'm not a real whiskey drinker but fiancé is so when my friend and I had time to kill we stopped in here. Highly recommend to stop here when in Vail. The owner was very friendly and helpful when ordering and chatting with him.

Great service. I went with a large group and we ordered various drinks. We loved the berry flavor with vodka and with bourbon. Would highly recommend as a stop when you visit Vail.

Love 10th Mountain! Stopped there three days in a row for pre dinner cocktails while in Vail on a girls trip. The Bourbon and the Moonshine were our favorites. The staff there is also wonderful. Mark, one of the employees, remembered us after day one and was just delightful with his dry sense of humor. Would highly recommend this rustic distillery for drinks or to pick up a bottle to take home.
