1166 Backpackers

Amazing Hostel. Many many thanks to the staff. The were kind, super sweet with us, offered us ideas to visit and good places to eat. The beds are super comfy the dormitory isn't too large. The common area as also super cute with tea and coffee freshly made each morning for us from the staff. The hostel us super close by the temple and all cool shops of North Nagano wich has the cutest vibe. The station is also easily accessible by foot, simply 2 roads or take a direct bus. The neighbourhood is quiet at night making the nigh there even more enjoyable. The shower is spacious and there is a dedicated study room for extra calm. I highly recommend this hostel to friends and Backpackers.

We had a really nice stay at 1166 Backpackers. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. We felt very comfortable! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a small, quiet but very social accommodation

Honestly a great place to stay, as a first-time traveler in Japan, they made me feel welcomed. They also help with your itinerary as well, providing information books on the attractions around nagano. Their amenities are great and well taken care of, and theres a heater in almost every room. They also provide hot water bottles for you to sleep with as well, so the cold isn't a problem here. The hallways can be a bit small, so just a bit of a warning with those with large luggages. Overall, I had a fantastic stay, and I recommend it to others.

The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. It kind of felt like home. The staff were very kind and helpful. They had plenty of suggestions for activities and places to eat around Nagano. I highly recommend the hostel for your budget stay in Nagano.

Stayed at this wonderful guesthouse in Nagano! Host was awesome, providing you with information of where to and how to about Nagano! They are very friendly and helpful! Making my stay very pleasant! Room is double decked and it’s clean! Toilet and pantry are cleaned daily! Love this place! Will recommend this to anyone and everyone who likes to meet people and definitely awesome for backpackers!

The hostel is excellently located and the staff is absolutely wonderful. They are super helpful and very nice. The beds are comfortable and the common area is very welcoming.

Stayed here earlier in June and I loved it so much I went back again after my first stay. It is located close to Zenkoji and the main strip leading to the temple. It also has a bus stop to the JR station (also walkable from the hostel) within walking distance. The rooms were adequate and well-maintained for backpackers with the staff friendly, informative and very helpful. If you're around on Sunday I believe they have a potluck which I recommend you join! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and will return whenever I'm in the area. Best wishes!

staff were the warmest most welcoming bunch I've met through all of Japan! they sat me down, recommended me places, helped me plan my itinerary and even looked up the bus/train timings so I could see everything I wanted to see! never had this even at more expensive hotels :))
