Just recently, I had the pleasure of attending the opening night of Jim Dine's exhibition at the renowned 125 Newbury Art Gallery. It was truly a fantastic experience. Jim Dine's work has graced prestigious institutions such as the Tate in London, MoMA, and numerous other American and international museums, and upon witnessing his art firsthand, it becomes clear why he is so acclaimed and sought after. As a pioneer of pop art, Dine's influence is profound and unmistakable. The gallery itself exudes a sense of simplicity and refinement, providing an ideal setting for Dine's captivating creations. During my visit, I had the opportunity to engage with one of the directors, who impressed me with her extensive knowledge and professionalism. This exhibition is undoubtedly a must-see for anyone with an appreciation for artistry and innovation.

Fantastic. The “Gottlieb/Rothko: The realist years” exhibition was stunning.

Logopanic – Lauren Quin at 125 Newbury jeez. We hate to give bad or even mediocre reviews, but I don't really know what to latch onto with this show. It was VERY well attended on a Thursday afternoon–maybe a tour or maybe it is a very popular show. The work is just SO saturated, psychedelic in a Alex Grey sort of way. I was trying to latch on to the artist’s relation to space or form but that was all eclipsed by this over-the-top, pop-abstract sensibility. The staff is always so nice here and it is exciting that Pace has a project space, but is the purpose of a project space to just give young-ish people with the right art school accolades solo shows before they get more permanent representation on the east coast? i dunno...it could just be me and that I was grumpy because of the crowds, but the work was...BIG and COLORFUL. I guess it’s just very L.A. and out of place in New York on a gray day.
