We had already eaten dinner but decided to try this claypot chicken rice because of the good Google reviews. The chicken itself was decent, but the claypot rice was just average — definitely not the best you can find in Singapore.
What really spoiled the experience was the service. The auntie taking orders had a bad attitude. We ordered a claypot rice for one pax (S$7) with extra Chinese sausage (+S$2), total S$9, intending to share. When the food was ready, I politely asked for two small bowls. She replied rudely that for a “one pax portion” only one bowl is given.
This is unreasonable, especially at a well-known hawker centre like Old Airport Road that attracts both locals and tourists. Not everyone wants to eat a full portion — sometimes people just want to try. Why be so stingy over one extra bowl? It leaves a poor impression and doesn’t encourage customers to return.
