"Taste MTL: Restaurant Week is Here! As if the Montreal restaurant scene weren't exciting enough, 125 restaurants decided to come up with a special fall menu and draw people out of their houses in defiance of the weather. The concept behind Restaurant Week is fairly simple but oh-so-fantastic: 125 restaurants, one pre-set menu, and 3 price points ($19, $29, or $39 per head). This is a great way for Montrealers to experience restaurants that they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise, and a way to discover new flavors. Make sure to look at the event's website to consult the menus and pick your favorites. Reservations are strongly recommended. Also good to know: Many restaurants offer a special $19 menu for late-night orders, after 9:30pm. Bon appétit!"

Yelp
idk abt how good the poutine was--it was my first and last time. But can say that we sat there in the middle of an absolute downpour, and with the way that the shop is open to the street, is was a fantastic vibe and mesmerizing to watch the rain. also nice there's a lil drug store near by where you can go buy yrself some lactaid if you lack certain enzymes

Yelp
I was with a group of people who wanted poutine for dinner, but in our party we had 2 with gluten issues, one being severe. Fortunately, she uses a website or application that provides useful information. Poutine can be a challenge, because sometimes the gravy contains gluten. Fortunately, Poutineville, in general, gets good marks. Unfortunately, there are 5 of them in Montreal, only 3 of them rate well on gluten-free - this one was the best and most convenient, and we all had a very satisfying dinner, with a variety of poutines, and zero issues. We started with several types of drinks which included non-alcoholic and alcoholic, and of those it was a variety of beers and cocktails. These all came out quickly. My cocktail was quite strong. Apart from those ordering gluten-free poutines, the rest of us ordered from their "International" menu. Mine was the Portuguese, which focused on chorizo. Again everything came out quickly. Now, were the poutines authentic/traditional? Some were. Were they delicious? Absolutely. But I was amazed at just how many garden peas were atop my poutine. I have nothing against peas, just surprised at it. With so many places in Montreal to get poutine, this wouldn't necessarily be high on my list in general, but it definitely worked out very well for this particular group of friends.

Yelp
I love poutine! As an American no one does poutine like Canadians... every time I go to Canada I look for an excuse to eat poutine damn near every day. The reviews were good- so we hopped an Uber and went 20 mins for dinner. They were busy- I'll give them that, but when we saw the pile of dishes on the bar that hadn't been bussed and the tables full of people without plates in front of them and line at the door we should've known to go ahead and leave. We had a party of six and we were seated after about 10 minutes. We waited another 10 minutes and had our order taken. Then the real wait started. 45 minutes later and we still did not have our food. We checked with the waitress and then suddenly two of the meals we ordered arrived. Clearly, they had been sitting in the window for quite some time. The plate itself was hot, but the food was not. My mother-in-law got a veggie sandwich that was literally a quarter of an inch of grilled vegetables and some cheese on a giant bun. I wouldn't judge them on that alone. It's a poutine place not a sandwich shop and definitely not someplace for vegan food. She got regular fries, and they were soggy, logged with grease, and cold. Finally, my poutine came out... it was literally just a side order of poutine and I also ordered a pogo. My poutine was ice cold. Not even a little warm. I couldn't even eat it. I couldn't get the server's attention to have her take it back and heat it up or bring me something else. At that point, I would've been happy with a salad or something cold, as long asI got to ear after 12 hours of travel. Everyone at the table had their food and was finished and my pogo still had not arrived. She comes after the third time of me asking her and another server and brought me a plate that was so hot she couldn't hold it, but the corndog itself was cold. I didn't even bite into it, I touched the outside, felt that it was cold, and broke it open, and it was not even warm on the inside. Clearly our food was prepared, it just was never ran. I don't know if they had a shortage of servers or what, but at that point stop taking DoorDash and Uber eats orders and focus on your diners. Food was going out the front door, but nothing was coming to our table. Nothing we got the entire meal was hot or fresh. I handed my food back almost as soon as it came to the table, and they still tried to charge me for it. The food was inedible to begin with, but who wants to sit and eat when your entire table has already had their meal and is ready to go? What a shit experience. So here I am in my hotel eating a pb&J I scraped together from the breakfast nook.

Yelp
Poutineville is a great spot for those wanting poutine and only poutine (not necessarily authentic poutine, but poutine nonetheless). How many times can one write 'poutine' in a review, I wonder? We got the classic poutine with cheese curds and gravy, as well as the option with pork on top. The fries were excellent, the sauce was flavorful, and they have plenty of 'internationally-themed' poutine options! Only reason I'm knocking off a star is related to the service and interior, which were both nothing to write home about.

Yelp
There are quite a few poutine spots in the area but decided to try this one. The reviews were really good and there were so many varieties of poutine. We placed an order ahead and the order was ready for pickup in a timely manner. The poutine was really good. Everything was very flavorful. You can make whatever modifications you need on the different types of poutine so it is to your liking. You also get a hefty portion so there's a good chance you'll have leftovers. My only critique would be the amount of cheese curds on the poutineville poutine. There were significantly less curds than on the farmer poutine. Other than that, they were both delicious.

Yelp
I've only ever had poutine in Montreal, and I went back to have it again! From an American standpoint, this restaurant kind of gave me a family, friendly vibe with your standard poutine and milkshakes. You can also play board games while you eat! Handicap-accessible single stall bathrooms in the back.

Yelp
When in Canada, poutine is a must. Stopped here after a concert late at night and glad they were opened. The service was ok and can definitely use some attentiveness. We ordered the China large and classic large to split amongst 5 people. The fries weren't as crispy as I thought it would be and the chicken in the general Tso was severely dry. I would stick to the classic. Overall not bad.

Yelp
I was glad that we experienced it. First time in Montreal and it lived up to expectations. The gravy was tasty and I wish it was not as salty but what do you expect with ham?. But the fries went soggy fast. Who ever invented it must like mushy food?

Scott M.

Yelp
This was my first poutine experience. It was great. The owner was very helpful guiding us to choose the right one!

Yelp
Great place specializing in all things Poutine. I went there as their base poutine is gluten free which is a requirement for me. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and was a great server. I had a great meal.

Yelp
Gotta have poutine while in Canada and Poutineville does it so well! There are pages of options to pick from! I love the world options with different elements from national favorite dishes. The poutines are cheesy, savory, and so delicious. Each regular portion is huge and very filling! The restaurant is big and spacious so lots of seating is available.

Yelp
I have an affinity for Poutine.... The selection made it hard to select, but I went with the Canada. Gravy was great, fries were awesome. no complaints.

Yelp
Stopped by when I had a 16 hour layover in Montreal. The service was lovely, and the server was so nice! Chatted with me for a bit about life in Montreal and recommended I go back for a full visit. If I ever make it back, I'll definitely stop here again!

Yelp
During our recent trip to Montreal I realized that I never really had poutine. So obviously we had to try it while we were visiting. Poutineville happened to be close to out Airbnb and had good reviews so we gave it a try. They had some options that you could order or you could make your own poutine. Some of their options were international flavors which was a neat idea. They also had the choices of regular fries, sweet potato fries, tots or mashed potato's as the base. My significant other chose the large portion of make your own which was regular fries, gravy, cheese curds and chicken. I chose the standard portion of the Portuguese menu option. The base was sweet potato fries and the toppings were peas, cheese curds, chorizo, feta and gravy. Both meals were delicious and I wondered how I have not tried loaded fries for dinner before! The toppings were fresh and generous on both meals and we both had plenty to take home. A fun dinner, glad we were able to try it.

Yelp
After seeing reviews, we had to check it out. Great service and some of the best poutine we have ever had. The grilled cheese was awesome as well!!

Yelp
Good service, good food, casual atmosphere, tight space can be very crowded. They were very busy when we went on the weekday both tourist and locals go to this place. That's how you know. This place is very popular. Poutine it's not something that we used to eat but since we are visiting Montreal, we wanted to give it a try . As a matter fact, most of the restaurants in Montreal serve poutine. Amongst all those restaurants, we decide to try poutineville. We ordered a traditional poutine , and a pull pork poutine. We couldn't finish all. Definitely like the flavors and the local beer is refreshing. Street parking only if you drive , otherwise, it's very convenient if you come on foot.

Yelp
Pretty good and quick poutine service. We went with the Montreal poutine. Very filling and decently priced. Probably would have liked more spice or flavor, we added jalapeños. Casual ambiance. But all in all, good poutine. Maybe not the best but definitely hits the craving.

Nohelia O.

Yelp
The poutine here was very good. The portions are big enough to share with someone else and be full. The service was excellent and the staff was great. If you're looking for different types of poutine they have one here for anyone.

Yelp
Let me caveat this and say that service was absolutely amazing . . . but the food was filling but unsatisfying. We were full, but we didn't feel good. Poutine was a good experience. I think I would have regretted not trying the dish as a signature food item in Canada, but it's simply not for me (and for the price, it was not worth it). FOOD We got a custom poutine with Philadelphia cheesesteak, pork, beef, cheese curds, tomatoes, grilled onions, with pepper sauce, and then a Farmer's Delight. Since we were hungry, we had a few good bites, but we would not recommend getting a whole dish as a meal. Splitting with a friend (or four) would be ideal as the dish becomes dull after a few bites. We ended up finishing a quarter of it before packing it to-go. Our walk back to our hotel left us feeling full but unsatisfied, but nonetheless in a good mood because of the amazing service. SERVICE Our waiter (I believe his name was Nick) was incredibly sweet. He took his time to explain how ordering at the restaurant worked and gave us his recommendations. He was also quick to help whether we needed hot sauce or our check. Overall, we would rate the dishes a 2/5 and service a 5/5, but this meal just wasn't for us.

Yelp
This was the last spot we ate at in Montreal. It was actually Poutineville Bishop. I chose the place due to the good reviews. I ordered the lie specialty... Poutine with braised beef and red wine sauce. My partner order poutine with chicken wings, spicy sauce ahh jalapeño. We both enjoyed the meal. It was quite filling. I would definitely visit again.

Yelp
Excellent poutine, milkshakes, everything! While they were quite busy at lunchtime on a weekday, my group of 7 was seated right away and our drinks arrived quickly. My daughters' milkshakes were simple and freakin good! Our food took a while to arrive but they were severely understaffed due to a couple employees calling out sick. Though their menu's vast with burgers, salads, hot dogs, subs, and more, their poutine is a MUST with several pre-selected combinations and over 50 "Create Your Own" options. My hubs thoroughly enjoyed his "Quebec Sugar Shack Poutine" of meat galore which came with bacon, ham, sausage, cheese curds, a fried egg, and maple gravy that wasn't too sweet. Then my savory "French Onion Poutine" super satisfied with cheese curds, caramelized plus crispy onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and wine sauce. I highly recommend this spot! NOTES/TIPS: **Street parking was easy **Gender-neutral restroom **Huge kid's meals, excellent service, fair prices, full bar

Yelp
Awesome service and food. Food came out quick and the server was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions. It was our first time having poutine and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
Snowy evening in the city, many spots were closed in the area to brace for a storm (and the holidays). Thankfully, this spot was still open, with barely anyone inside for dine-in service. Opted for something different and got the "Montrealer" ($14). An assortment of fries, smoked meat, mushrooms, swiss cheese, fried pickle, and some sauce. Definitely more of a cheese-fries dish than a poutine but good nonetheless. Plenty of cheese over a large helping of crisped fries. Loved the fried pickle on top that had a thin coat of breading. Wished there was more smoked meat in the dish, as it felt skimpy on that end. Washed it all down with a local.draft beer ($7ish) Do like the fact they have vegetarian options, as well as plenty of non-poutine items. A solid no-fuss option in the city.

Yelp
I wanted to try poutine while in Montreal and was told this was the place to do it. It's hard to gauge whether this is bad poutine in general or whether it's my own personal preference but I absolutely hated it! I had it delivered and threw out the whole thing after a couple of bites (I got the spicy one that has blue cheese). I guess it's worth trying if you want to experience local cuisine, and apparently this is where one does that, but it's not for me lol

Yelp
1st time trying this dish. Wow. Quebec style. Food was hot and fresh. Staff was awesome.

Yelp
Our last meal in Montreal on a Monday afternoon! We already enjoyed La Banquise but Poutineville had our eyes rolling back. The Montrealer was to die for: crispy, gravylicious, cheesy, meaty, and mushroomy. The fried pickle was a nice touch. So good. A gem that you don't need to line up for.
google avatar

ErUta N.

Yelp
The smashed potatoes weren't my thing a little heavy and seemed to unbalance the taste and the Montreal smoked meat looked like it was cut from a deli vs the fresher offering at La Banquise. The cheese curds were really good and squeaky. I'm more of an order something simple and well done (NY Cheese Pizza, Black Milk Tea) vs a dish with a bunch of stuff on it, but the "France" poutine was really well done! It tasted like French onion soup, but in solid form and as someone who likes French onion soup that was a great surprise. I'd go for the interesting takes on poutine vs the staple here.

Yelp
The service, poutine, and drinks were all amazing! John was an amazing server and attended to our every need. I would definitely come again and the drinks are $9-$10!

Yelp
The service here was really good, guy was super nice I had a conversation with. The poutine was really good as well with huge portions, so much I had to go back my next trip to Montreal.

Yelp
Got: classic poutine, gyro sandwich, veggie sandwich Price: $10 + $4 for large poutine and add-ons. $9 for each sandwich Value: nice sit down spot with fair prices. Can get expensive if you want lots of poutine add ons Lemme start by saying that the poutine is great! They have two options for your potatoes (crushed or regular fries). The crushed potatoes are in a scalloped shape then crushed with more exposed surface area. They have a dedicated paper where you can customize/add toppings to your poutine. There's a sweet potato fries option and vegan cheese option. They have a gluten free and vegetarian option for gravy (their traditional one). Their sandwiches were slightly salty and the bread was overly fried. The bread was crispy but slightly too hard. We also got chicken wings which were meh. They weren't crispy and were dry. Soggy in excess sauce. Overall, their poutine is great. The crushed potato option is novel and adds variation to the traditional fry shape. Their other food is ok but nothing superb. I personally wouldn't make poutine a whole meal but I'd recommend for good, customizable poutine.

Yelp
This was the suggestion of a local and it could be the best or the worst - i don't know because i only have poutine once every few years. What i can say is i thought it was good - had some heat, was flavorful, and the curds squeaked when you ate them which i have been told Is the sign of a good poutine.

Deedee J.

Yelp
Poutineville Bishop: the waitress brought the wrong item and argued about it. We both heard what we ordered, but didn't want to deal with her attitude any further so didn't press it. Not ideal. Fiancé said his poutine was underwhelming. Ambiance-wise, the restaurant was empty, but it was after the lunch rush so we didn't think much of it.
google avatar

Yelp
Great experience... English friendly, good food and nice, cold beer. It's what you want when you think of Montreal atmosphere
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
Excellent variety of poutine. Healthy portions. Fast service. Loud and busy atmosphere.
google avatar

Austin C.

Yelp
Poutine was good here; the best I've tried in Canada. We had their four cheese poutine as well as their Italian poutine ( the one from the cultures around the world section ). The four cheese was super flavorful with all the cheese that it had on top. However, if you order this, make sure you're with a large group. This will be very difficult to finish in your own because of how rich it was. The Italian was less flavorful but equally good. It reminded me of a meatball spaghetti but replacing the spaghetti with french fries. This one could be viable eaten by one person. It was better balance than the four cheese. Service here is also great. Servers are friendly and food is sent out quickly.

Mathis L.

Yelp
Good poutine and good price. Atmosphere could use some work but overall the staff was friendly and would go again.

Gian G.

Yelp
Such a huge range to choose from, the flavours are so rich and delicious, I'd highly recommend

Charles I.

Yelp
The Poutine wasn't bad. A little soggy for my liking but there is a Chocolate place across the street that made up for it!!!

Michelle M.

Yelp
We drove from Burlington VT just to eat lunch. We bought 2 large poutine bowls and 3 adults could not eat it all. The food was fantastic.
google avatar

Eugene W.

Yelp
This was some LEGENDARY poutine. I got the smashed potatoes, standard gravy, cheese curds+swiss, gyro+smoked meat. Their smashed potatoes are deliciously crisped - definitely better than normal julienned fries. The gyro is delicious, the cheese curds are delicious, the dish isn't too salty. Everything was well-balanced (as well-balanced as an unhealthy meal like this can be). GOOD STUFF. Best poutine I've had so far as an American.

Barnabas K.

Yelp
Food and service was good. Definitely filling we had the Montréaler and crispy chicken poutine
google avatar

Vik R.

Yelp
This was my wife and son's first time having poutine. They were skeptical and weren't too impressed with the description. Poutineville changed all of this. They literally had a moment. I wish I could capture their faces when they started partaking in my order. The food here is phenomenally good for a food court location. Loved it.
google avatar

Brian E.

Yelp
Very good, some of the best poutine I've had. Server was great, very friendly and funny. The hangover poutine was great! Definitely recommend if you're in the Montreal area. The prices are a little high but the portions are huge!
google avatar

Rabbiya A.

Yelp
All the poutines at this establishment are excellent but our favourite is called Poutineville! It comes with Fresh Curds, Mozzarella with Braised Beef & their red wine sauce. We always opt for Crushed Potatoes! This one makes it to my top five poutines in Montreal! The portions are huge!! Quality of ingredients is consistently great as well! Would definitely recommend this place for a legitimate poutine experience!!
google avatar

J. A.

Yelp
I love poutine so if it's a restaurant dedicated to the dish, then I have to try it. Poutine options seem endless and they have a great draft beer selection. Service is great and the food came out quick. One of the better poutine restaurants in Montréal in my opinion.
google avatar

Baldemar R.

Yelp
Pretty straight forward! Great poutine and friendly service! Visiting from the states and made it a mission to come here and see what all the reviews were about! Not disappointed
google avatar

Larry H.

Yelp
The facade is deceptive. The FOOD on the other hand is DELIVIOUS... and the DRINKS! I had a coconut martini that was ABSOLUTELY delivious! If you don't like the standard list of offerings... you can construct your own. You are provided with a list of ingredients and a pencil. They also offer burgers, hot-dogs, subs and a sundry of other items. Not expensive... and the plates are much larger than expected.
google avatar

CheBerks P.

Yelp
The service was great and we enjoyed the poutine. We tried 2 different types. We would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Gabriella S.

Yelp
Stopped by this place on a weekday afternoon, and it was empty. Got two of the world poutines. Not bad, not great, nothing special. The food was slightly cold, and our ice cubes had black spots inside (something dirty inside the ice cube).
