The whole “town” feels empty and abandoned. The backpackers is unstaffed, book online and you’ll get a code to get in. Manager Terry was helpful and responsive when I called him. There were no other guests.||I stayed here after a week in the Great Ocean Walk, so I could catch the bus in the morning and be clean when I did it.||The place has definitely seen better days, but it was adequately clean, and they have free wifi.||The hard water has done a number on the shower heads, so the shower was only good because I hadn’t showered in a week. Enough hot water though.||If you see it as glamping, it’s pretty great. Also if you want to probably have somewhere to yourself.

Booked this while riding my bicycle down from Warrnambool towards Geelong. It was a good stopover point for the first night. Nice place, but a bit empty since it was off season. Was weird to arrive to a completely silent hostel at sundown. Everything I needed was there though. Kettles, plates, instant coffee, hot water, clean bed linens and a towel. Charging points in the room with an extension cord. Met two other guests later in the night and had a great time anyway. Place is a bit well-worn but not filthy. Life saver on my ride. Happy travels!

Experienced an unforgettable stay, where every moment is graced with the breathtaking views of nature's finest. Beautiful and peaceful entertainment that caters to relaxation and tranquility. Enjoyed complimentary coffee and tea, ensured comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. We booked a unit which is clean and comfy. While the owner is not on the premises, they have provided clear and comprehensive instructions to access our room. Should anyone require any assistance, they are readily available on the phone to ensure all your needs are met. We went to the Princetown Wetlands Boardwalk in the evening for short walk, which is located in walking distance. Highly recommended and exceptional value for the money paid.

Loved having a comfortable place to come back to after a gruelling walk. Comfortable lounge chairs, comfortable bed, hot showers, flushing toilets. Amazing!!! Kitchen suitable for cooking with a fridge, oven, kettle, toaster and appliances. A great place to make friends.

I had an incredibly stay at this hostel and could not recommend it enough. |I stopped at this hostel while I was doing the Great Ocean Walk and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. As the local pub and general store were closed, they helped me organise snacks and a delicious dinner or roasted lamb and mashed potatoes. |The hostel was spotless and they have a lovely outdoor area overlooking the fields around, which would be perfect for a BBQ in summer. |They own 2 sheep which were lying around while I was having brekkie and there is a huge kangaroo colony not far from the hostel as well. |Absolutely recommend. |Thank you so much for all your help and kindness during my stay!

Being so remote we were not expecting much and were pleasantly surprised. The lounge area was very homely and the owner seemed very nice. However, while it may be due to the weather, it was very cold during the night. To be fair to the hostel extra blankets were provided. Breakfast is included which was a nice touch but the kitchen is simplistic. While it didn't bother us, the lack of free WiFi is worth noting. Overall, it's a nice hostel to see the 12 apostles from and has adequate facilities for a short stop over.

On first glance this hostel looked to be the best that we had experienced, after being told about the free breakfast and cupboard to help yourselves from, lovely outdoor cooking area and view into the garden of sheep. The lady that showed us round was so lovely! We were in a large dorm which was sort of split into sections of two bunk beds which gave us group of four a bit of privacy. There were lots of spiders which put off one of our group but we sorted that out. A group of tourists took over the entire kitchen and at breakfast took the only toaster to their table and all of the bread and jams which isn't the hostel fault but made it a bit awkward for the rest of us. We used the washing machine which turned all of our clothes a rusty orange, totally ruining them. The lady asked why we used it because it was broken but there was no sign and it took our money! When we arrived the lady said the door to our room had fallen off so was out of use which meant walking past thr poor people st the other end constantly. The bathroom was clean but I got up to shower at 7am and the water was ice cold which really was not pleasant. There was a girl shouting in the communal area at midnight which woke up me up so expect it to be very loud out. We woke in thr night absolutely freezing so more blankets would have been good. Also there is no Wi-Fi which was not ideal when we had been on the road for a couple of days.|The hostel is a 10 minute walk to see wild kangaroos which was excellent. There aren't any supermarkets nearby so bring food with you if you plan to cook, otherwise there is a pub down the road.
