The two stars are solely for JP from maintenance and the cleaning group, who truly deserve recognition. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Zivanka, Claudia from management, and JP. The entire cleaning team is professional, polite, and does an excellent job keeping the building clean. One young lady from the team always took a moment to greet my dog, which we really appreciated. They are also very considerate when vacuuming near pets and always maintain a positive attitude.
During our first week, we experienced a ceiling leak due to an air conditioning issue in the unit above, but JP and Zivanka acted quickly and resolved it efficiently. The office team also responded promptly and communicated clearly.
However, there are several issues worth noting. I recommend avoiding units on the first floor near the garbage disposal area, as the chute often goes out of service and garbage left in the room can cause unpleasant smells and at times, you can even find cockroaches in that area.
Another serious issue is the lack of proper monitoring of people entering the building. On multiple occasions, I have seen homeless individuals in the lobby, some kicking the automatic door opener or making loud noises. A few times, people have acted aggressively when seeing my dog, even though the building is dog friendly. We’ve even been asked to leave the elevator by individuals who were afraid of dogs which was uncomfortable and upsetting.
Over weekends, when the garbage chute is full, some residents leave trash outside their doors instead of taking it to the garbage room, creating strong smells and hygiene problems. The playground also causes a lot of noise, especially in the evenings. In addition, I’ve noticed people leaving food around the building and even using drugs in certain areas, which raises serious safety concerns.
Our shoes were kicked by a maintenance worker without any notice while they were left behind our door for just a few minutes. This was surprising, especially since many neighbors keep their shoes outside or place plants in unsafe locations. Many times, I’ve also found toys or items that have fallen from higher floors due to a lack of attention.
The ground-level parking area is not secure; our locked bikes were stolen within the first month, and there are no security cameras. When we asked about this, the response was simply, “You have insurance,” which was disappointing.
The neighborhood also doesn’t feel safe late at night, especially on weekends. Rent is quite high considering all these issues, and there’s little transparency about rent increases, some tenants experience small changes, while others see hikes of over $200 without explanation.
There have been several cases of missing packages that were unfortunately stolen rather than lost, as there was proof of delivery from Amazon or other carriers.
That said, the building does have a few positives: it’s pet friendly, offers both ground-level and underground parking, includes a playground, and upper-level units have nice balcony views.
Long story short, the rent is much higher than the quality.
