Very pretty location, clean rooms and clean and cozy lobby area downstairs. Breakfast isn't offered but there is a fridge and coffee amenities, so you can bring snacks or drinks. I expected it to be loud, being right on the roads, but it was very quiet and peaceful. Very pleased with the quality of everything, and I have a lot of love for old historic buildings!

The Magnolia suite was nice. Check in was easy and hassle free. Great communication before check in. Nice and quaint. Only issues I had. No fridge in the room so could not keep my drink cold and perhaps some light snacks available in the common area.

It’s a lovely place and it was easy to get into following the instructions which was a relief as we arrived at one in the morning. However, there was no breakfast of any sort. Luckily we had some biscuits/cookies with us. Very surprised and disappointed as it’s advertised as a b & b.

We have stayed at the 1425 Inn several times. It USED to be a Bed and Breakfast. In the morning there was a lovely hostess who served us coffee and made us breakfast. She made sure there were fresh snacks throughout the day and answered our questions and gave us advice on what to check out during our stay. There were lovely pieces of art from local artists on the walls and it felt very cozy and homey. Now it is under new management and all the art has been taken down and it feels stale and cold. We stayed Friday-Monday and the same bagels that were there on Friday were still there Sunday morning. No one picked up our dirty dishes the whole three days and the bed in the Vista room was so hard we got no sleep. We left Sunday night instead of Monday morning. It is no longer the cozy bed and breakfast it used to be. We didn’t see a single soul the whole time we were there. You check yourself in with a code and make your own coffee with a Keurig and have the same bagels for three days. Would not recommend.

We were in a pinch to find a place that wasn't a fortune because of USC homecoming. I found this online and was able to book last minute. ||The hotel was very clean and quaint. No issue getting in once I read the self check-in text. A little strange to not have anyone on sight for questions but no big deal. ||The room was nice (Jackson), a huge closet to store our things and give us more space in the room. Bed was comfortable and shower had great pressure.||The breakfast was basic, some bagels/croissants, coffee. Again, no biggie. Only thing we missed was access to ice or a fridge. We'd been traveling and had a bottle of wine we'd have liked to chill but there were glasses and a wine opener available. Getting a table top ice machine would be a simple fix. ||Either way, we'd stay again.

Wonderful location and a very cute and unique building. If you like history and vintage home. Such location is hard to find and the host Pam was very friendly and helpful for everything the minute we check in and answer all the questions we had. She made you feel like her home and you are the family came over visit. The room is very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Highly recommend if you are in the area visit.

If ever you need a place to stay in Columbia SC, this is the place. Fuss free, secure. I will definitely book here again.

Bed…. NO BREAKFAST. Not even continental, really disappointed! The rooms were nice and clean, but there is only one small trash can in the bathroom, none for your room and no large garbage can or dumpster outside for you to take your trash to from your room. I had to use grocery bags and pile it up in my room until I left. There is a microwave, coffee, and water down stairs in the main area for you to use, but there isn’t a fridge or ice, so you cannot bring any food and your drinks will be hot. Really confused by this as a “long stay” place….

Yelp
I had a lovely stay at The 1425 Inn. It truly felt like a home away from home! I was a little early to check in, but warmly greeted by Bill and Carol. They let me put my bag down in a room while I stepped out for lunch. I returned later to a clean and beautiful room (The Gervais) on the bottom floor. It had a very comfy bed, desk area, small TV, closet, and bathroom with both a shower and claw footed tub. Besides the cozy room, there was a big living area that always had soft drinks, water, snacks, and even wine at the ready. For breakfast, I enjoyed some yogurt and fruit. One of my favorite parts of the inn was all of the art on the wall. Most of it is for sale from local artists and you're invited to walk around the different rooms that are not occupied to take a look. There was a small parking lot in the back. In the evening, I had dinner on Main Street and opted to have a nice walk which took about 15 minutes. Perfect location! I only stayed for one night but would certainly love to return for longer.

Yelp
I had my bridal shower here in the lobby/living room area. It was absolutely gorgeous! Shanna attended to our every need for planning, setting up, and cleaning up. The food they served was delicious! I couldn't have asked for a better shower.

Yelp
Calona Hackett 1/5 a minute ago on Google I reserve three rooms the night before our wedding. I let Ms. Shanna know ten ladies would be staying the night and the next day we would be getting ready for my wedding. I told her we would do a brunch maybe and 17 people would be there. I let her know photographers and makeup artist would be there. She let me know that was fine and we could use the house to take pictures. She told me she would not rent the house out Saturday night because of my guest being there the night before. Ms. Shanna completed lied the real reason she didn't rent the house out is because there was a very big festival that day and she wanted her guest to move about freely and for us to hide in our rooms. She told me I couldn't have brunch after my food was arriving. I was very upfront with Ms. Shanna before I booked and I told her everything so there wouldn't be confusion she NEVER told me about a festival and she never told me I couldn't have a brunch. She completely ruined my photos we had planned and almost ruined the day. I felt like I was treated that way bc I'm African American. Her inn keeper came to the door with a KNIFE in his back pocket. Luckily the conversations with Ms. Shanna and I were recorded. Very unprofessional, she never sent my emails, her word is not bond. I'm highly disappointed in the inn. I had several options I went with her because she was open to my vision, sadly, it was all deceit

Yelp
My boyfriend and I travel to Columbia for work quite often. I was tired of booking at less than desirable chains around the area and found this inn for an affordable price. Great location and very cute inside! I loved the décor and old time movies playing. Parking is easy and convenient and the rooms have everything you need. Oh and you get a homemade breakfast that is SO delicious - and all the snacks you could want. I will 100% be returning.

Yelp
My Sunday school class has gone to the inn at Christmas time every year for the past seven years. Every year there is no hesitation in going back there because the inn is beautiful, the people are friendly and the food is fantastic. Thanks to the staff and owners for memorable experiences with our friends and family

Yelp
October 26 was suppose to a magically day for my friend, unfortunately this wasn't the case. We rented out the inn so that we could get ready on the day of her wedding. On Friday night everything seemed fine . We were able to get in, setup and get relaxed before the big day. The next morning is where everything changed.. Ms. Shana saw the makeup artist getting setup in the loft and immediately said she couldn't do that after it was already discussed with my friend that she was able to utilize the entire house if needed. After the makeup artist broke all her equipment and moved them into a room. Ms. Shana came back again and said that the bridesmaids gifts cannot be on the table as there is a festival going on and do not want these out. My friend was in complete disbelief as all the stuff we were doing was discussed and acceptable prior to us coming. This ended up turning into a complete disappointment and Ms. Shana had no words to say on why she would agree one day and turn around and take it all back. My friends wedding could of been a complete disaster because of Ms. Shana. I would not recommend this because they are very unprofessional and do not communicate when they want things changed.

Yelp
What a charming comfortable home away from home. If you are looking for a hotel or the usual services of a hotel, then this is not your place to stay. The 1425 is much more than a place to stay or sleep, from the moment you pull up to the curb and walk through the front door, you feel like putting your keys on the entry, taking your shoes off and starting your evening home routine. There is no sensation that you are in a hotel or in a facility that offers a bed and a few services. You truly feel as if you are home. The check in process was incredible, Shanna immediately made sure that if anything was needed or required from us, that she would see to it that it our needs were met. With that offer, two glasses of wine were poured and offered up as a welcome to the 1425. Still waiting to be told where the elevator is and a simple thank you for staying, we were instead told that we can go upstairs to the rooms, we can tour the Inn, we can sit in the living area, go out front and enjoy the peace of the night and the gentle rain that was falling, or whatever it is we do to make ourselves comfortable. And that we did. We went for the option of sitting on the front porch and enjoying conversation with the owner and forgetting even for just a couple hours that we were away from home on business. The room was beyond comfortable, the bed more than invited me to stay in it, and the day was greeted with Shanna having a very generous breakfast offering, some calm classical music in the background as I noticed that I was the only one that had decided to start the day prior to 8:00am. Everyone else still had their doors closed and we're obviously much smarter than I and have elected to enjoy the rooms and the comfort that comes with the 1425. I will without hesitation stay here each and every time I make my way to South Carolina and I suggest you do the same.

Yelp
I have stayed in B&Bs in Canada, the US and Europe. This delightful B&B met my expectations for a pampered and private stay amongst eclectic antiquities with a charming host. Thank you David!

Yelp
We recently had a beautiful stay at the The 1425 Inn! The Inn itself was gorgeous yet comfortable: the canopy bed was absolutely luxurious; the local art was a great touch; and the decor was classy yet cozy. There was wine, coffee and snacks, books, games, and reading nooks and a beautiful quintessential southern porch complete with rockers. But what made our stay special was how "Southern Family" the Inn felt. The Innkeeper was so accommodating and warm! We felt welcomed yet we enjoyed the romantic privacy. Thank you so much! Will return soon!

Yelp
There is much to like about this place: large, comfortable rooms, art gallery, charming homestead, friendly staff Etc. however, our big disappointment was the skimpy, cold breakfast. For that much $$$, a real bummer! Better breakfasts at some chains!
