Our first trip to the South was an absolute delight, thanks to the impeccable hospitality of Annelise and Jack at 15 Church Street B&B. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into their beautiful home with a warmth that defines Southern charm. We stayed in the comfortable, spacious blue room on the third floor, which includes a private bath. The climb upstairs was not an issue and only added to the historic charm, especially knowing it was Jack's childhood room. Each morning began with a delicious, homemade breakfast, with the 'hominy surprise,' an original family recipe, being a particular standout.||Evenings were equally enjoyable, with Annelise and Jack hosting a pre-dinner wine and beer reception with light refreshments. The B&B's location is ideal, putting us within an easy stroll of Charleston's historic downtown and the Battery. We greatly appreciated Annelise's recommendations for local activities, including the International African American Museum and the Two Sisters walking tour, which enriched our understanding of the area's history. Annelise and Jack's generous and kind-hearted spirit made our stay truly memorable. We wholeheartedly recommend 15 Church Street B&B without reservation.

This was my 2nd time staying with Jack & Annelise, the first being in ....2012 and each visit was OUTSTANDING! For me, going back to Charleston really is going home and staying at 15 Church Street only enhances that experience because it it TRULY like staying with family! ||Breakfast was varied and delicious and you get to set the time which is nice. 15 Church seems to still attract an especially nice group of people so the social hour was a very pleasant aspect of staying here it really was.||I think 15 Church Street may very well be some type of epicenter or nucleus of congeniality lol because I could hardly take 12 steps from it without running into great people to converse with. The maxim "a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet" was surely coined in Charleston, SC! ||Jim E. Oct/Nov 2025

Our stay at 15 Church Street was perfect! Jack and Annelise are wonderful hosts, and their house is in a perfect location. It was an easy walk to King street and the French Quarter. This is a rare opportunity to stay in one of Charleston's neighborhoods without being too close to touristy/ loud areas. The house itself was very comfortable and was more than enough room for my party of three. Could not recommend 15 Church Street enough!

Our stay at the historic 15 Church Street B&B was exceptional. Jack and Annelise's hospitality made us feel like we were visiting with friends who just happen to have a beautifully decorated home. The 6pm wine and social hour on the porch each night was a nice way to mix with our hosts and other guests, as well as an opportunity to be given valuable information to make our stay in Charleston most enjoyable. The location in the lovely historic part of the city couldn't be better. We were able to walk to most places. Bobbi and Jack

What a wonderful, elegant B&B. Jack and Annalise were gracious hosts sharing their beautiful old home in the heart of the historical section of Charleston. Accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious with several options offered. My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay! We highly recommend 15 Church Street B&B.

Jack and Annalise are the ideal couple to host this bed and breakfast in their historic home that Jack grew up in. They were very welcoming and offer very warm hospitality to their guests. My wife and I were made to feel instantly at home. They host a 6pm social time on the veranda with provided drinks and cheese each night. We learned from them about the history of their home and community. Breakfasts were well portioned and delicious. The room was very clean and well supplied. If you want a place that has an historic background and warm and welcoming hosts, this is the place for you!

A wonderful bed and breakfast, beautiful inside and out, including not just the lovely home, but especially the hosts. The every evening gathering on the huge welcoming porch they hosted with wine and cheese and relaxed, intelligent conversation was a highlight. We were upstairs in the Blue Room which was spacious and quiet with a private bath. The bed was comfortable, always an essential for any stay anywhere. Charleston as a whole is very walkable. 15 Church Street is half a block from the battery, near several historic houses you can tour, churches (and churchyards), and within a 15 or 20 minute stroll of more restaurants than you can shake a stick at. The surrounding neighborhood is charming, and peaceful. We felt safe walking after dark.

My wife, Lisa and I stayed with Jack, Annelise, and their 4- legged sidekick Juliet at their home on 15 Church Street and it was one of the best experiences we have had in Charleston in 30 years of visiting this beautiful city. The location is close to the waterfront and within walking distance of all the prime attractions in downtown Charleston. The house itself was beautiful and well maintained with some of the prettiest heartwood pine floors I’ve seen. Parking is off the street and convenient to the house. Breakfast served daily is outstanding with a variety of selections. I’m kind of a snob when it comes to grits, beer, and coffee. The grits were some of the best I’ve ever eaten…yes I know it’s a southern thing, but Annelise fixes them just right. The best part of the stay was Jack and Annelise makes their home feel like it’s your home and we felt very comfortable. Both are extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area and are locals of Charleston. We really enjoyed our conversations together and best of all, they invited our good friends, Mohammad and Lynn from the former 1837 B&B over for social hour. How is that for southern hospitality! We highly recommend 15 Church Street B&B with Jack, Annelise, and Juliet to anyone wishing for the true hospitality of Charleston. We can’t wait to visit again!
