Highlights

Teatro Italian Food & Wine is more than just a restaurant. It's an experience unlike any other, a journey through the regions of Italy. What sets Teatro apart from other restaurants is its unique history as a former theater. When we had the opportunity to take over the space, we wanted to embrace its theatrical roots. Thus, the name Teatro was born, derived from the Italian word for theater. And from the moment you step inside, you'll feel transported to another time and place. It’s not just about the ambiance - the food at Teatro is truly exceptional. From handmade pasta to perfectly grilled meats and seafood, every dish is crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. But what really sets Teatro apart is the staff. Our team is expertly trained in putting the guest first, having a conversation, and helping guide you through your culinary journey. You'll be introduced to a universe of Italian food that you may not have ever seen before, with new dishes and flavors to discover each time you visit. And the experience doesn't end with the food - It's all part of an ever-evolving relationship between the restaurant and its guests, a journey of discovery that never ends...

Yelp
Decided to try this spot for my boyfriend's birthday as we had planned a quick Flagstaff trip. We are so glad that we chose this place for his birthday dinner. I cannot say enough--customer service is top tier. Our waiter went above and beyond tending to us. When we arrived they had birthday sign ready on the table for him. He offered excellent drink and food recommendations. He was amazing. Not sure if it was mentioned enough (being totally sarcastic) but they hand make their pasta !!!!! And WOW is all I have to say. I had the pumpkin ravioli with the Italian sausage--highly recommend this fall. My boyfriend ordered the rigatoni and he was in love. My boyfriend order the pork osso buco and we both were sent into another dimension at first bite! Not even joking! The meat was fall off the bone tender and packed with so much flavor. The celebratory dinner came with 3 different flavored gelato that rounded out our dinner experience nicely. Very refreshing. Since my boyfriend and I are cocktail snobs--I will also say their cocktail selection is top tier. We were both blown away with our choices. I definitely recommend any of their spritz selection--I am biased loving elderflower so the Hugo spritz was my favorite. My boyfriend ordered their signature cocktail La Strada. We both highly recommend this cocktail. Very complex but also very balanced cocktail and also aesthetically beautiful. We will be back if we ever make a trip to Flag!!!

Yelp
Bad management!! They change chefs and staff a lot!! Not worth the price!! Stabilize your business then I'll come back and give you a review again. Food is ok. The other establishments they own are very and a lot less expensive.

Yelp
I visited Teatro in Flagstaff for a surprise dinner to celebrate my mom. We made reservations, so upon arrival, we were seated right away. Overall, the staff was very friendly, helpful at answering our menu questions, and the food was delicious. We ordered a bottle of wine, a n/a mocktail, the Nduja Mussels, Rigatoni alla Norcina, Butternut Squash Ravioli, and the Branzino. The drinks took longer than expected to arrive. It seemed like our server was also the bartender so making drinks for other tables while also tending to our table. In terms of the food, the mussels were our favorite! We were disappointed in the size of the 2 pasta dishes we ordered. For the price, we were hoping for a little larger portion than what we received. The branzino was good but I wouldn't order it again. Overall, if you're looking for a tasty upscale dinner in Flagstaff, check out Teatro!

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner! Haven't heard of it before and we always love trying out new places! The inside of the restaurant is very nice, the decor all goes well with the vibe of the restaurant. Our server Cody was great! Really took the time to explain the menu, highlight some drinks and some of his favorite dishes. Pasta was amazing! All the ones we got were so good! Also can't complain about their tiramisu it was awesome! Must check this place out!

Yelp
This place was very delicious, and overall my review could have been 5 stars if the service had matched the food quality. Please note I'm incredibly forgiving when dining out and highly appreciative of most experiences, but this one was a bit much into the negative, even for me. So 3 stars it is. Again, each food item we had was great. The hanger steak dipped into the pasta cream sauce was out of this world. They should make that a dish itself. Wine and cocktail were good. We had a rez for 7:45p but I was starving so we walked in asking if there were any openings. We were told no at first. Then we asked if there were any spots are open at the bar, were told no. And I didn't realize it at the time but they did have an empty patio with tables so not sure why that wasn't offered? But maybe already was booked but not yet seated? Either way, it wasn't the end of the world and I was just about to cancel our rez because I couldn't wait about hour and half. We missed lunch and needed some food :) The host did tell us there are 2 seats at the bar that are the "undesirables", his words lol. I looked at them and took the risk since they are basically lower down from the main bar area. It appears maybe it's the ADA option for wheelchair seating. But it's still at the bar and in the middle of the restaurant so how bad could it be?? Plus, if they are actually ADA seats they really should get the same service as anyone else at the bar, right??!! I think so. Well I'm here to report that the undesirables truly are just that. If you sit there, be prepared to essentially be ignored by the bartender and have to catch their attention for anything you need. I mean anything...oh you want more water? Well even though your glass is clearly empty and placed in the line of sight of the staff, it will sit there empty until you force an interaction. Same went with ordering drinks, ordering dinner, being checked on during the meal, etc. and these seats are AT THE BAR. Just slightly lower. It's insanity. Anyway, like I said the food was delicious but for the amount we spent there, would have been nice to be treated like other guests at the bar area-- tended to. So for that, I give the 3 stars as it's just ok. I wouldn't go back. And I do appreciate the host making an effort to get us into the restaurant ahead of time, but note to staff/ manger-- maybe just educate your bar staff that people who sit at the "undesirable seats" are not in fact undesirable people.

Yelp
Wanted to love the place since the service by Lexie and the decor/ambiance were great, but the food wasn't on par as the other aspects. Plating was also pretty simple, not matching the stunning inner decor. Overall pretty small portions for the price. Loved the light, crispy bread and the fig/brie/green apple bruschetta. Meatballs and sauce - juicy and tasty. Beet salad had tasty yellow beets with balsamic & burrata, but could have done with double the portion of spring mix. Branzino - well seasoned fish skin but fish was overcooked and orzo was too lemony - hard to taste the orzo. Beef tagliata - beef didn't seem seasoned at all and it was requested as medium-rare but was on a range of medium to medium-well. Lamb papparadelle - ordered by our party, I think pretty tasty with good pasta, but lamb is not my favorite. Gelato - tasty but tiny portions.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Amazing food at a reasonable price! Been coming here for years. Gnocchi is my favorite and Mark the new bartender was fantastic

Gregory B.

Yelp
Second time in 2-3 years after first stopping in just after they opened. Remarked then about how well kitchen and front of house were churning out a great experience. Unusual for new place. Well, they are still knocking it out of park, and if they are suffering staff or skill shortages, I didn't see it. Early dinner just after they opened. Graciously seated even though I was 45 mins in front of my reservation. Tonight I started with the beet and burrata salad. Outstanding. The golden beets were just right and the burrata was fresh. Then moved on to the Osso Bucco. Falling apart from braising just as it should be in a marinara sauce. Finished with a three-way of gelato and an espresso. Really top shelf dining experience. They have such a solid Italian wine list, I was wishing they offered some Coravin by-the-glass experience of some of the finer wines on the list. Actually was thinking about who to invite on my next visit to "justify" ordering a bottle of the Oderro Barolo! Final shout out to my server Cody who was perfectly attentive while also covering the bar; and to the hostess that sat me. I watched her all night taking an owners mindset to her job. If there was no one to be seated, instead of hanging at the front door and looking at her phone, she was hustling around the dining room busing tables, putting out set-ups and checking on guests. Very impressive.

Yelp
This establishment truly is a little gem hidden in downtown Flagstaff. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enchanted by the quaint and romantic interior. The lively kitchen added a delightful energy to the atmosphere, making our evening even more enjoyable. The food was good. The homemade pasta was a highlight, and the calamari, though on the smaller side, were absolutely delicious. We were also impressed by the excellent collection of wines, which complemented our meal perfectly. The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the dessert. The gelatos were the stars of the evening, providing a sweet and satisfying end to our dining experience. The staff was attentive and friendly, contributing to a memorable evening.

Sydney K.

Yelp
The mussels are incredible... it's the only thing giving me hope that there are other things on the menu that are fantastic. The branzino was fine, nothing special and everything it was served with lacked flavor. The pasta's were both much smaller than we anticipated and left us hungry.. they also both either needed more salty cheese or just straight up salt. They were good, but had potential to be great.. I would likely only come back for the mussels for happy hour as an app and a beverage..

Yelp
Dinner was really good. Good ambiance, great food and especially 5 star service from Lexi (hope I write her name correctly). There was a slight misunderstanding however Lexi came out, apologized that she misunderstood that we wanted to share our main course dishes so they didn't come out at the same time. But honestly that did not bother us at all. However she kept coming out to check on us and offered champagne as an apology. Thank you for that. We really had a great experience and will be back next time we are in town.

Yelp
It's been a year and we are back! I knew when I returned to Flagstaff I wanted to come and have dinner as soon as possible. The girls got into NAU so we are in Flagstaff much more lately. We enjoyed a delicious early Sunday dinner. As always, the staff is extremely polite and accommodating. They really make this feel like a special experience. We sat inside this time. We had a booth near the back and the window to the kitchen where you can watch the cooking staff make the pasta. It was kind of cool because we also heard the kitchen and I felt like I was in a "Bear" episode (A lot of "Hands" and "Yes, Chef" going on back there. This time we ordered: - Flagstaff water - brought to the table in a clear, glass bottle and refilled by the waiter often - Meatball Skillet - pork and beef meatballs, marinara, whipped ricotta, grilled baguette - Branzino - lemon orzo, blistered cherry tomato, asparagus, white wine, capers - Lobster Tagliatelle - heirloom tomatoes, garlic, shallot, maine lobster, white wine, chile oil, fresh basil - Pappardelle Ragu - slow cooked lamb ragu, pecorino romano We were all very happy with our meals! I was waffling between the lamb Ragu and the Branzino, and finally chose the Branzino. It was absolutely delicious. I loved the crispy skin and the orzo was so fragrant and perfectly cooked. When they brought my dish to the table, the garlicky wine & lemon caper sauce smelled divine and I knew I made the correct choice. The fish was cooked just right. The beauty about the spot is that the food menu is so small yet every item looks so good. It's nice because it isn't overwhelming and I know I'll be back to try some other items that looked really good. The wine menu on the other hand is extensive. They also have a nice cocktail menu. If you walk to the back of the restaurant past the window to the kitchen, there are two gender-neutral restrooms. Beyond that there is a nice back patio if you feel like sitting outdoors. This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Flagstaff so there's lots of shopping, cafés, and other fun sites to see right outside the front doors.

Yelp
My husband and I have dined at this restaurant a couple times, and the food and ambiance have always been excellent. On this occasion I had butternut squash ravioli. My husband and I shared a beet and burrata salad. Both were very good. I enjoyed the music played at Teatro: quiet vocals and instrumentals. We shared dessert: tiramisu and the gelato sorbet sampler. The tiramisu was huge and was best shared by two people. The tiramisu was disappointing: mostly whipped cream and not enough cake. The fruit sorbet was a little tart and excellent. We will return to this restaurant. We were very happy with our previous meal, although I can't recall what we ate.

Alison H.

Yelp
We made reservations at Teatro for our anniversary dinner, the restaurant is lovely, small, intimate with simple yet beautiful decor. However the lay out is quite odd. You have to scoot past the outside tables to get to the tables near the wall. Several times I watched patrons have to get up to let others by. The service was great, the hostess acknowledged our anniversary and there was a hand written note on the table. She took my coat and our server came by immediately and explained the menu. The menu is small, but everything looked delicious, I ordered the rigatoni with Italian sausage and my partner ordered the butternut squash ravioli. We also ordered the bread.. it was pre cut and stale. You could tell it had been sliced hours earlier. It wasn't warm and the butter was so cold it wouldn't spread. The butter itself was delicious but we ended up leaving it on the table. It was too difficult to work with! The food came out on beautiful plates however the food was lukewarm, the rigatoni was fresh, but was chewy and thick. The sauce was pretty bland and needed a lot of salt. My partner enjoyed her ravioli however I felt the sauce was again, bland. We were offered a free desert and that was so nice! I also ordered a mocktail and it was a really delicious grapefruit situation, it was really refreshing. Overall the service was lovely, but for the prices I expected more from the pastas.

Tina S.

Yelp
I can't say enough about delicious everything is at this place. We had well seasoned calamari to start, chopped caesar salads and rich delicious entrees. Our dessert of flourless chocolate cake was also a shining star of the meal. Our server was friendly and had great recommendations. I loved the lighted flower trees that created a soft ambiance. Will always go back when I'm in Flagstaff.

Sasha M.

Yelp
The restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It was super clean. The staff was attentive and friendly. It is a great place to go on a date or a celebration. You can even dress up because that's how pretty it is inside. The food portions are not necessarily shareable, but they're just the right size. All the ingredients tasted really fresh. It was delicious the bruschetta we couldn't get enough of them. That lobster pasta was also really good although I prefer more of a cheesy sauce.

P R.

Yelp
Great food and service. Had the ragu - excellent. The house made noodles were great. Good wine selection - had a reasonably priced Barolo.

Jenn B.

Yelp
What a gem. I had to be in Flag for work on a Friday and stopped by for a late lunch. Service was excellent. The food was delicious. The cream sauces were lovely and I can recommend the butternut squash ravioli with sausage. The sauce was so good I ordered some bread to sop the sauce up with the Italian way. I would eat here again.

Lynn S.

Yelp
came here for valentine's day from out of town! food was great and the staff was friendly. I love their ambiance!

Amy K.

Yelp
Hands down, most delicious Italian dish I've ever had-- butternut squash ravioli with Italian squash as in a decadent cream sauce. Two people in our party of 6 had this dish and everyone agreed it was an eye opening Wow dish! We also loved the beet and burrata salad, and the the lobster tagliatelle that was more mildly flavored but still delicious. Attentive and professional from Matthew was excellent. There was initially a mix up with our table but they handled it well, like a gracious host. Stylish, well designed interior with nice lighting and a small bar area. We will definitely be back when we are in Flagstaff enjoying the cooler weather!

Christy L.

Yelp
I'm visiting from Phoenix. I cannot believe I paid over $25 for 7 spoon sized raviolis and $4 for a sausage add on that has less than 4oz. It tastes fine but seriously??

Carolyn A.

Yelp
We had such a great time here. The staff was very friendly and had great recommendations. They allowed us to take our time looking at the menu and asking questions and ordering when ready, there was no sense of urgency to turn over the table. We enjoyed the bruschetta, a lamb pasta, butternut squash ravioli, and seared sea bass. Noodles were cooked al dente, but I'm sure could ask to be cooked longer to preference. Will definitely recommend and return when in town again

Dean B.

Yelp
Fantastic dining option in downtown Flagstaff. Nice bar, good selection. Upscale white tablecloth atmosphere. Service was great, had a hostess, a server, and a bartender. All very nice and very attentive. Starter, main, and dessert were all delicious. Very nice wine selection, including by the glass. Will return. Would recommend.

Yelp
We had a reservation, showed up a little early, got seated right away. Great. It took 15 minutes until our waiter Roy showed up to take our drink order. He apologized for the wait and took our drinks. No problem... 20 minutes later I'm halfway through my coffee based cocktail when my cousins glass of wine finally shows and Roy again apologizes for the long wait and takes our order. Okie dokie, we're chill people so whatever. 45 minutes after that Roy comes back again and confesses he forgot to ever put in our order and can't remember what it was. We told him what we ordered again and mentioned it had been over an hour since we were seated and had nothing to eat so far. No offer of some bread or something to tide us over, just a half joking apology for the wait. Almost 2 hours after arrival we finally get our food. Turns out over the time he forgot about us repeatedly they ran out of all flat noodles so my cousin's dish had rigatoni instead of pappardelle, which Roy didn't bother to disclose before it arrived or mention when dropping it until she asked about it. I will give credit to the kitchen that the food itself was good once we had it. See picture for wrong pasta without warning. We were very hungry so one of us ordered a Cannoli. We should have known better. 20 minutes later and the Cannoli finally showed up. In the end they did comp our entrees and asked us to give them another chance sometime. I doubt it though, I'm not willing to risk another 2.5 hours for a meal that should take maybe half that.

Alane O.

Yelp
Everything about this place is five stars. The ambiance is shiek; romantic without being pretentious. The pan selection with paprika, dill definitely worth the carbs, but we haven't even gotten started yet. The staff is extremely attentive. With a reservation we were even seated early despite it being and extremely busy Saturday night. The dishes are plated perfectly, served on gorgeous pearl plates ordained with gold cutlery. The sage cream gnocchi was amazing and perfectly cooked. The sorochvili pasta may sound heavy but the pork cheek and the fact that it is made in house helps balance the dish. And the desserts....ah. The tiramisu is out of this world. Come prepared to keep your pinkies up and your drinks strong.

Helen H.

Yelp
Fantastic service and ambiance. I was a little nervous with the quaint town vibes but the food was excellent. The burrata salad with beets was divine. Pleasantly surprised! The wine list was fantastic and the restaurant was so clean and inviting. Would definitely go back.

Lori A.

Yelp
We stopped in for a couple happy hour drinks and had a really lovely time. The bartender was professional and attentive. The restaurant and bar area are very clean the ambiance is very nice and modern. I love their glassware and the gold silverware. We will definitely be back another time to try the food. The rest of the staff were super friendly too.

Tiffani S.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to this restaurant based on all the amazing reviews. I did get the Tuscan chicken based on the reviews and it was really good ....just not amazing. I wanted to like it so much bc it's really is cute inside, has a great vibe in a cool location and space in downtown. However, when you are paying $30+ for a meal you expect HOT food!!!! It was not. All four of our meals were lukewarm- super disappointing. The Ricatta bread was subpar. The lobster pasta was cold ish and not good. The Tuscan chicken was really good for fried chicken. The rigatoni was pretty tasty, very heavy and would be have been good if it had been hot. Lexi was a very good server - so sweet and did a a fb job. All in all not worth the $350!

Becky R.

Yelp
Everything was excellent and the flourless chocolate cake was exquisite. The service wa considerate and very professional- Roy was amazing. Thanks for a lovely, impromptu evening!

Gabi M.

Yelp
Wow - We were super impressed by Teatro and look forward to returning again and again on future trips to Flagstaff... We heard about this gorgeous new-to-us restaurant from a friend and of course checked out the Yelp reviews that came before this one. We also learned that Teatro is a concept created by THAT PLACE PROJECTS, the hospitality group that also owns Tourist Home, Annex, Tinderbox, and Corn & Flour. TPP has done an incredible job with all of their concepts and Teatro is no exception! I went for lunch on a Saturday with my husband and son after making a last minute reservation on their website. At first glance, the restaurant is beautiful inside! They did an amazing job renovating from the previous concept. The Teatro theme rings through in a classy way. I love the visible kitchen area and well appointed restrooms. I didn't get to check out the patio, so I'll have to return to do so soon. I went with a Greek Salad and added shrimp for some extra protein. I also had a few bites of my husband's Caprese Sandwich. Both super fresh delicious. My son was exhausted from attending nearby NAU soccer camp all week, and he's not the most adventurous eater to start with, but he enjoyed his penne pasta, fresh bread, and once he tried the shrimp from my salad, we ordered more for both of us! Service was attentive but the food did take awhile - to be expected at a higher end restaurant. Grace was our server and she was fabulous. We look forward to returning to experience Teatro's dinner scene (without the kids) sometime soon!

Olivia A.

Yelp
Lovely little Italian spot in downtown Flag. Loved coming here after a weeklong camping trip and getting a delicious plate of pasta and a large glass of wine!

Loretta R.

Yelp
The food, service and ambience were amazing and well done. We were surprised to find this place in flagstaff. I would return again for a special occasion.

Kabi N.

Yelp
Not the best experience at all. Waited for an hour to get our food. Came out cold. Staff was nice that's all I can say. Do not recommend.

Dave

Yelp
We came here for dinner as Teatro came highly recommended. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our waitress was very friendly and took our order. The Caesar salad came quickly and was quite good. Then the experience went south. It took another 30 minutes to get our main courses and both were sub par. My chicken Parm was 10 seconds away from being creamated and disguised with melted cheese and a bit of sauce. I was unable to cut it with the serrated knife. My wife's scallops were lukewarm served on a bed of half cooked, salty pasta. Our kind waitress took them both back and said she would put a rush on getting them remade. Twenty minutes later our replacements came out, made as they should have been the first time. They did comp us dessert and I have no idea about their staffing or lack there of but my chicken Parm was a kitchen crime that never should have been served. I hope this was a one off experience but we're not willing to try this place again.

Jennie W.

Yelp
Great service and amazing pasta! Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion!

Devon D.

Yelp
Service is awesome and the restaurant is beautiful, light, and bright. I have not dined yet, we just stopped and had a Martini at the Bar, which was perfect. I plan to do so on my next trip to Flagstaff

Paula D.

Yelp
I am all about fine dining and discovering new chefs. I was bored with all the restaurants in town. So tonight, after reading all the reviews on Teatro Italian Food & Wine, I took a leap for mom's 75th birthday dinner. Teatros did not disappoint. This new, at least to us, fine dining experience is now on our family's celebration list. I have to say, any waiter or waitress, who puts up with my sampling of wines off the wine list to find the perfect pairing is worthy of a 25 - 30% tip. Yes, I have a finicky palate when it comes to wines. After three tastings, I settled on the pinot noir. I ordered the grilled rack of lamb COSTOLETTA D'AGNELO (Grilled rack of lamb, polenta, rosemary pomegranate balsamic reduction) which was cooked to medium rare perfection and the polenta ... I wanted an extra side - yum! Mom had the amazing SPIGOLA ALLA GRIGLIA (BRANZINO - Mediterranean seabass, fennel cream sautee). My son and Robbie had the SPAGHETTI NERI PROFUMO DI MARE (Fresh squid ink spaghetti pasta, tiger prawn, mussels, calamari, Scottish salmon, cherry tomatoes). Richard and Navi had the TAGLIATELLE AL RAGU DI AGNELLO RUSTICO (Fresh Tagliatelle pasta, slow-cooked lamb shoulder ragu, pecorino romano). My niece Sami had the GNOCCHI AI FORMAGGIO PROFUMATTO (Gnocchi pasta, grana padano, gorgonzola, stracchino cream, fried sage). Dessert did not disappoint! TIRAMISU (lady finger, coffee, rum, mascarpone), STRUDEL DI MELE (Apple, Raisin, Walnuts, Vanilla Sauce, Poppy Seed Gelato), and the PANNA COTTA DELLO TEATRO (berry sauce, biscuit crumble). The panna cotta was the best I've ever had. Mom really enjoyed her Tiramisu. What an amazing dinner. I was thoroughly impressed. In the end, mom, the birthday girl, said, "I felt like I was having a wonderful meal in another country."

Yelp
Been a while since I've had good Italian food. The Oso Buco was the best. We sat at the bar and the bartender was a server.

Jake S.

Yelp
The food was delicious. It's obvious that the sauce is made from scratch. The waitress was a pleasure to talk with and made sure our lunch needs were taken care of. If I am back in the area I will definitely be visiting this restaurant.

Marlo F.

Yelp
One of the best Italian restaurants in the states I've ever been to & the service was outstanding. Lexi was an excellent server who went out of her way to make dining experience extra special. Teatro Italian Food & Wine will not disappoint.

Alice F.

Yelp
The That Place Restaurant Group seldom disappoints, and Teatro is another example of their great hospitality. The restaurant's vibe is bright, lively, and a little loud, a nice contrast to Tinderbox, Teatro's dark and elegant older sibling. Service is some of the best in town, especially the sommelier team. We had two different somms on our two visits, and both were inquisitive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food and their wine selections. On the food, let's start with the antipasti. My favorite was the Teatro ravioli, which unfortunately didn't make it onto the current menu. Hopefully, they'll bring it back for special occasions! The tartare was good, but I thought the bread was cut too thick, making it hard to eat elegantly. The insalata mare e monti was my only misfire, as the tiger prawns were not cleaned properly. For the pasta course, the gnocchi is decadent--so much cheese! I should have asked for some bread to swipe up all the extra sauce. The tagliatelle was also delicious, although I would have liked the pasta to be slightly less al dente. For the second course, it's hard to pick a favorite. The rack of lamb was perfectly cooked. The costoletta alla milanese, breaded pork cutlet, was crispy outside, moist inside, and a big portion. The potato cake alongside the filet is worth the whole dish, and the filet was good too! For desserts, the tiramisu is the showstopper. What a beautiful presentation! I'm always happy to support this restaurant family, so I'm glad they have another hit.

Yelp
Booked a table here with a friend who lives in Flagstaff and recommended trying it out. Certainly fine dining in Flagstaff which is nice. The wait staff are awesome, very polite and knowledgeable.. The owner was also the Maître d' that evening and served us our wine, which gave us the opportunity to talk about the restaurant and what their plans are. Not only this, he was out in the kitchen helping staff with clearing plates and washing up when not speaking with patrons.. His hands-on attitude really shows that they want to be serious contenders in town and have a great restaurant with great service. Food was excellent, as was the selection of Italian wines. Overall this was a very enjoyable experience.

D H.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible food and outstanding service!!!!!!! The restaurant is quaint and modern with retractable glass windows when the temps permit! The burger, cheese, salads, along with mixed drinks, local beer, or any of your other favorites are amazing!! When in Flagstaff, this is a must visit for lunch or dinner!

Nicolle B.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent! Highly recommend if you're craving good Italian while in Flagstaff.

Mike D.

Yelp
Two types of review for this one, read which one applies to you. Review 1 - you are paying with an expense account or you're on a date where you are not paying: The food was good! It's a tasty meal in a nice restaurant which you will enjoy. 5 stars Review 2 - you are paying and value your money and expect fair exchange for that money: Give me a break. There is a fine line between marking up prices to maximize your returns and then there is just ripping off your customers because you can. Teatro walks over that line with no shame at all. It starts with the wine list where you'll find markups of 4x-5x from retail which is beyond what a typical restaurant marks up (2-3x). Then there's the bread...standard fare at most Italian restaurants, here it is $6 for 3 small pieces and some herb butter. The bread was good...it was worth $0 extra. Maybe $1. Other appetizers average about $25. The recommended burrata was fine. It was worth about $12. Let's move on to the $20-$25 pasta dishes that are not enough to consider a meal. The gnocchi was good and the tagliatelle was bland. It might have been saved with some added salt but this is one of those restaurants where they don't put out salt because they think they can do no wrong apparently. Well, they can. Service didn't come around to ask for salt prior to it getting cold. Pastas are worth $15. For the entree we attempted to order the eggplant and we were told by the server that the kitchen stopped serving it because it got sent back so often. Yikes. We opted for the duck and wished we just got a dessert instead. The best part of the duck dish was the apple chutney as the duck breast itself tastes like it was cooked in a sous vide (perfect temperature) but never had the fat rendered which is important with duck. It had a thick, rubbery, chewy fat cap as a result that made it difficult to eat. The dish had potential but disappointing execution. We skipped dessert and were presented with our $193 bill for the items pictured. Overall it is a lovely environment and the food was actually decent. If it were priced fairly ($140 range maybe?) I'd have been okay with some of the issues. But if you're going to charge like a Michelin operation, I'd expect you to deliver on it. Teatro does not.

Yelp
In a sea of burger bars and pizza joints, this is a hidden jewel. Ambiance is a chic metropolitan look. Service was warm and friendly. Food was well prepared and presented Italian fare. The Zepoli are a great treat for dessert. I'd go back again tomorrow if I was going to be in Flagstaff.

Yelp
Food, service, and atmosphere is a perfect 10. Some sort of whistling or a high-pitched noise in the back kitchen area was very distracting.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing. The bread is a must order. We ended up getting a second round, it was so good.

Yelp
Pretty setting. Extensive wine list. Food was extremely over salted, making both entrees unpleasant.
