1636 North

New Year's Eve dinner with my family was delicious!! Thanks to Offsite 222! All I have to say is that 1636 North, now it’s called Offsite 222, is a must-visit restaurant in Springfield, Massachusetts. The hospitality is top-notch, and the restaurant's owner is fantastic. When you enter the restaurant, they have music playing and have a projector and a television. According to the owner, they have a movie night. Also, they have board games like Uno, Sorry, and Jenga while you wait for your food. You’re vibing, not even complaining about the wait times. Did you know the owner went from selling food from a food truck to a restaurant? Wait, they’re expanding to open a coffee shop and a school for small businesses. I truly love how she shared hospitality businesses. Back to the atmosphere: I genuinely love it, and the owner loved that I enjoyed our meals on New Year’s Eve. We ordered as follows : Appetizers: 1. Philly chicken and cheese eggrolls: I highly recommend!!! It was scrumptious 2. Sweet and Sour chicken wings and lemon and pepper wings: listen, can I say they were cooked to perfection! The chicken wasn’t overcooked and seasoned just right 3. Macaroni and cheese: listen, my children left no crumbs. They said it was the best. I had a bite, and let me tell you, I wanted another bite, but my Kris said, nah, you had enough. I highly recommend the Macaroni and cheese Entrees The food love is real!!! The herb crusted lamb chops and Cajun pasta with a special sauce were SCRUMPTIOUS!! They were cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The sauce let me know I had to ask for extra lol. It was delicious. I will always get this meal the next time I visit Springfield. It was the best lamb chops I had!! Believe me, I had good lamb chops—no doubt about it. I finished the rest the next day. I said damm i wish I had more Dessert The cheese cake !! Delicious, I was full, I couldn’t even walk. I loved everything. I highly recommend visiting the off-site 222 the next time you visit Springfield. I do recommend calling to make reservations. They don’t serve liquor, but you're welcome to bring your own.

I tried to call the number, but no answer. I looked online to see their menu and I came across the fried lobster which sounded amazing which shows that it’s $30 including a side, but they only give you two options of a side for that particular meal. Mac & cheese is one of them just so we clear. So since I wanted to try this place so bad I drove 17 minutes out in the rain which the rain don’t have anything to do with it but when I’m feening for some food and want something, I’m gonna get it. I’m gonna go for it. I go inside and it’s a very nice setting beautiful place. I ordered with the young gentleman upfront… fried lobster, My side of choice was mac & cheese supposed to be cheese mac & cheese, and a side of which the yams is five dollars so altogether online looking at in my order was supposed to be coming up at least $38 even. It took about 45 minutes for my food to be ready. He told me to pay when I come pick up the order. So I’ll come back within 45 minutes. I asked him how much it is. he gonna tell me is $45. I said how was that if online it shows 38 type ish. He replied : well I’m not too sure but I’ll go ahead and let them know . Me: OK so when are you gonna let them know now? I have already paid my $45. But I think he did was honestly it charged me for the mac & cheese separately because it is $10. So I drove 17 minutes all the way home the yams nothing to brag about. I was very disappointed when I opened up the mac & cheese because I did see a Curly coil hair in there. Mind you I’ve been upset already from the $45. I’m already home. There’s not much that I could do about it because they don’t answer their phone. So that whole piece to have to hair part I cut n tossed that. As I take my first scoop of the mac & cheese is not hitting for nothing Usually cheese already have flavor and if you got nine cheeses in there, you don’t definitely need to add no salt. The only thing that was great was that lobster that fried lobster that’s the first time I have fried lobster it was good. The lobster alone I’ma give a seven out of 10 everything else which is the yams in that Mac & cheese Like 1.5…

It was good for food to eat before none hit. Very strange the day i went because they do reservations or order out but there was barely anyone there. Def the food was hot fresh of the fryer.

The food here was outstanding! Small local business where you can tell the people here care! Just look at the pictures of my food! I love the liberal use of truffle throughout the menu. I had the lamb and my server informed me it's only cooked all the way thru, no way to order mid-rare but suggested I get it anyway if I like lamb. Boy was she right. The marinade did that meat right! Very juicy and tender. Salmon cooked to perfection. Lovely plating technique. We'll be back to try more food!

We stumbled across this place accidentally, and I'm glad we did! The fettuccine alfredo is a must try! And the fried shrimp was cooked perfectly and included a pineapple Hennessy glaze dipping sauce. While the collards had too many onions for me, that was the one miss in an otherwise divine meal. Everything was well-seasoned with a sneaky amount of spice that tickles your tongue. And did I mention the cheddar biscuits?! I would go back just for the cheddar biscuits. The friendly server brought the food to our car and everything was well-packaged. All and all, one of my favorite accidental finds!

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. They have board games you can play while you wait for your food. The service was really attentive and welcoming. The prices are also reasonable.

Our waitress was incredible, she made us feel very special. The food was great, huge portions. Definitely recommend!

The service is AMAZING but the food is even better. The lemon pepper wings is my favorite after the jerk chicken (not pictured). Definitely should check this spot out if you haven’t yet.

Great place for dinner. It's small but intimate. The menu is not too large, yet it has great options. The service was top-notch. She was very attentive and took great care of our group of eight. Let's start with the grill bread with olive oil and herbs. Perfect char and great taste. Crab cakes is a meal in itself. Would have loved a bit more of the remoulade sauce, but no biggie. The lamb chops with a side of collards were full of flavor and very tender. All in all, the 1636 North is a must try. You will not be disappointed. I am looking forward to our next visit.

The food was okay not great. They don't serve alcohol so we went to the jazz spot on the corner. The server was sweet and efficient.

OMG... They had fried lobster tails. I never saw that before so I ordered it. It was fantastic! I also had a Cajun Truffle Fettuccine as a side and it was also fantastic! Highly recommended!

This spot is a 10/10! The food is nice and fresh and the portion sizes are amazing. Can't wait to come back into town to try them out again.

I drove 2 hours from NY and was 20 mins late and they didn't let me in because I didn't meet the 15 min protocol. I'm highly upset on Father's Day, I will never return...

Food is all cooked to perfection! Service was extremely exceptional! I guarantee anything you order on the menu will taste amazing.

Wow! What an unexpected gem. I saw their menu posted in their window, and popped in to see if they were open. A cheerful woman greeted me and offered seating inside or out. I was torn between shrimp or lamb chops, and when I let her in on my dilemna, she shepherded me toward the lamb. I sat at one of the outside cafe tables and watched the city happen around me. She showed up quickly with a plate of warm, buttery, savory biscuits, water and complimentary Perrier or any soft drink. Turns out, my greeter was the co-owner with her chef-husband, and they decided to expand from their food truck to a physical restaurant, and took ownership of this location on March 9, 2020 - the day before the pre-Covid times ended. They had to scramble to remodel by themselves, and were saved by delivery and pick-up orders. They are doing strong weekend business, but I encourage anybody to visit them on a weekday (Thursday for me). Back to my food: the herb crusted lamb chops were seasoned and grilled to perfection, and the asparagus I chose as my side was perfectly crisp-tender. I had to ask about dessert, and the Ferraro Rocher torte was spectacular. Go! Eat! Enjoy! Support this lovely couple who lovingly put delicious food on the table!!

I walked into this venue yesterday to help a fellow Comedian by bringing my sound equipment for his show. I introduced myself to one of the owners "I think he was an owner", I proceeded to compliment the venue and said, "hey I'm not part of the show tonight, I'm just here for the sound, but I'd love to support your venue, can I please have a menu" 15 minute later I get a menu and ordered food, 20 minutes after that they tell me they don't have what I ordered from THEIR menu. I ask them what my choices are, I order the most expensive item from those choices and 3 hours later, the show ended and I never got ANY food. As I'm wrapping up my equipment, I over hear the owners complaining about money, so I told them they need to start by blaming themselves. If their service is any indication of their business mindset, they're going to lose more than money. I'd never attempt to give them my business again and I highly recommend AVOIDING this place. Advice: Treat EVERYONE like they have thousands of followers (because I do) Treat everyone like they will give you the review you deserve (Like I always do) Treat EVERY customer with respect, before you're left with NO Customers OR respect.

The food here is delicious. We ordered the salmon, linguine, asparagus, truffle Mac and cheese, and the fire grilled curry mango shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. This is my husband's and I new spot, for sure. My belly is so full and we are so happy. We are true foodies, so this helped make our stay at home date night special.

Food is delicious. Full of flavor. Huge portions. Service was great. Have ordered take out from them as well and they never disappoint.

We really enjoyed our experience. Food took a little longer but that's because everything was made fresh to order. I'll take that any day. Costumer service was very good. Atmosphere was nice. All around great experience.

On 5/7/2022 a visit to 1636 North was like no other. My family and I were in search of a fine dining experience after attending the AIC University Graduation ceremony. After searching Google and weeding out several other options we decided to go to 1636 North. Upon arrival we saw an empty restaurant with one employee attending to front of house operations. We requested a table for 5 and were quickly denied on the grounds that they were fully booked with prior reservations and if we wanted a table we would have to make a reservation for another day. Sadly disappointed we headed to the Mexican restaurant across the street, in which we sat in the bar area with a view of 1636 North. After finishing our meal at the Mexican restaurant, I decided to pop back into 1636 North because I noticed the lack of activity, being they claimed to have been fully booked. Upon looking in the establishment I noticed that the restaurant had one table with 2 customers. I kindly asked if the white gentleman that were seated, if they happed to have placed a reservation as the restaurant was just as empty as my initial visit. They kindly replied "No, we just came in." Astonished by this, I began to inquire as to why my family and I were discriminated against and what made the other customers, request different than ours. Needless to say I was told to leave by the employee who's picture is attached. If you are thinking of eating here please don't support this business who clearly discriminates against people of color. It's a shame to see that in 2022 we are still faced with issues from the Jim Crow time period. What good is the food if their practices towards customers of color are that disgusting?

I wanted to support a Black-owned restaurant when I visited Springfield, and I'm really glad I found out about 1636 North. I got a table outside, which had a nice view of cars passing by on Worthington Street. The owners were my servers that day, and they were really friendly, offering me water and a bottled drink. I ordered the deep fried lobster tail with waffles because I'd never had it before, and I was really happy with the blend of sweet and savory. The price was reasonable (compared to Boston at least), and I was full when I was done. I hope to try more of the menu when I return.

I was so happy to see they offered delivery. The flavors were outstanding, you can taste the quality of the food. Portions are very reasonable. Definitely adding them to the rotation

Not sure how to rate the place. Food was pretty good but the place was little weird. First the staff was surprised that they had customers( kept wondering what do the know that we didn't ) Then it is byob which some might like some may not. But it only had 4 tables , could hear load talk come from the kitchen. For now I would say this restaurant is fair.

Hidden gem. This place is small and simple but the food is fantastic. Everything we ordered was perfect from the wings to the lamb chops!

Lovely setting with excellent service. We were seated outside. The view was very pleasant. Even though the place was busy the service was very good. The food was quite good. Drinks were excellent. Highly recommended as a good place to have a relaxing evening
