For more than 10 years we have been loving to stay in the Carlton area with Ian and Betty (and Daisy). It is like coming home and enjoying a peaceful stay in a wonderful clean and very comfy bedroom. We stayed this time 6 nights … yes! And we have been exploring Melbourne which is changing every time we come. The Victorian markets, the botanical gardens, Fitzroy swimming pool, Brunswick, smith and Lygon eating area, cycling to Sint Kilda, cycling along the Yarra to Richmond and port of Melbourne … and day trips with Vinetrekker to the Mornington Peninsula or Yarra Valley … so many beautiful memories from our trip! And yes do not forget South bank and the lanes with the royal arcades (and Hopetoun for a cake and tea). But especially adore this beautiful bed and breakfast and welcoming host! We hope to see you again!

Spent 5 nights in this wonderful bed and breakfast. Ian was a fantastic host who we looked forward to chatting with everyday. Enjoyed the ability to have breakfast on our own schedule and found the room, bed and shower to all be very clean and comfortable. Location location made this a super place to stay from easily walking downtown to exploring the Italian district right behind us. Poppa Gino’s resturaunt 5 min away was excellent and if you love pastries you must go to Brunetti’s an easy walk away. Overall would recommend family and friends to stay here in an instant.

Once again we stayed at Ian's BnB and again, not disappointed. Room 4 is the Queen bedroom, large, plenty of room, double opening doors onto a balcony, ensuite bathroom, plenty of towels and toiletries. 'Continental' breakfast included in room cost. Conveniently situated in the Carlton area, within walking distance to city central, trams a few minutes walk away, oodles of eateries within a few minutes also. The outstanding Melbourne Museum and the Victorian era exhibition building, within 10 minutes walk, airport Starbus drops off and picks up at the door. Best value in town!

Spent 5 nights in this charming and relaxed B&B. Ian was a wonderful host making sure we were well looked after. Breakfast was Help Yourself and we had lovely yoghurt and fresh fruit every morning. Our room was at the front of the building, the best room in the house! It was great climbing out of the window onto the balcony with my cup of tea in the mornings. Loved the location just around the corner from Lygon street for delicious Italian food.

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay for three nights.|Our room was clean, breakfast was good, the neighbourhood was quiet and interesting, with many restaurants in the next block on Lygon Street. |Ian was a very friendly and helpful host.|We really enjoyed our stay, this was a real find!

Well last night of an 18 night stay and I can only say it's touched the spot. The location is perfect for eateries and getting to the city. Our room was loveky and comfortable spotless clean. Ian and Betty are just loveky and will look after you and make you feel at home. Would definitely recommend.

A real locals hotel. Tucked away in a quiet area of Carlton - a suburb of Melbourne - Ian has a lovely offering in a gay friendly environment if that is your requirement. Really well designed hotel and ultra comfortable. This is a truly exclelent choice.
