17 Burgate House Hotel B&B

This is such an amazing find. From the moment we arrived to the very last moment Ashley made this feel like we were good friends and went above and beyond each day to make our stay perfect. The garden is a real sanctuary to chill with a lovely cup of tea. Rooms so beautifully decorated,spotless and beds so comfortable. As for breakfast Ashley and Allan had everything we could have thought of and attention to detail perfect. We will definitely be back. Thank you Hazel and Hilda xx

From the moment I spoke to Ashley on the phone to see if the car park could accomodate our van I knew this was going to be good. We were welcomed with tea & amazing home made cake in the most beautiful garden. Our room was a great size & immaculate. Really nice touches like dressing gowns were an added bonus. Really comfy bed & pillows. Now onto breakfast. This was divine. Home made compote & greek yoghurt was really good. Lovely fruit juices,cereals & fruit. Home made jam & marmalade too. Cooked breakfast was one of the best we have had & cooked perfectly.

Alan and Ashley are charming hosts who do everything they can to make a stay 17 Burgate a comfortable and memorable experience. 17 Burgate is a beautiful building which is newly decorated and spotless. Breakfast was delicious and served at exactly the time agreed. We cannot recommend 17 Burgate enough. We hope to return. Thank you Alan and Ashley.

Definitely a five star rating. The accommodation is spotless with a modern decor. The hosts Ashley and Alan are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. They want to make sure you have the best stay with them. The breakfast is beautifully presented and delicious and with homemade marmalade ! Great location too. Would definitely recommend this b and b if you are visiting this area.

If you can find a good B&B, stay there rather than a hotel. Well we have found one in Pickering.|On arrival we were met be Ashley who showed us to our room which had a separate sitting area with TV and a fridge. By the time we had unpacked Alan had brought some freshly baked cakes, a lovely touch. They had also provided a small bottle of sherry - so thoughtful.|We had to order breakfast the day before but the quality was outstanding, be it full English, croissants with ham and cheese or home made preserves.|The room was quiet, spotlessly clean and a perfect place to spend 3 wonderful days in and around Pickering. Thoroughly recommended.

This was another fabulous visit and as our previous visits we couldn't fault at all.|Ashley and Alan are wonderful hosts with the warmest of welcomes and fantastic home baked cakes and tea on arrival. Nothing is too much trouble and breakfast is tasty and plentiful. |There is a beautiful garden to relax in and the centre of Pickering and the railway are only a short walk.|We will definitely be back again soon.|

Right from the initial telephone call to ask about availability until after we left and had to follow up to recover something we left behind, our hosts really could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Excellent quiet room overlooking the garden with one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in, delicious breakfasts with a really good choice of locally sourced products and home-made preserves (try the marmalade!) and great advice on how best to explore the area. Nothing was too much trouble. Pickering is a great base, with the steam railway and a bus (much cheaper!) through the moors to Whitby and with its own fascinating local museum. we really enjoyed our three night stay. Thank you!

This is a First Class B and B and more.||Everything about the accommodation is perfect. I tried hard to find something I could mark down or criticise --- impossible --- the attention to detail is obvious throughout.|A fine welcome from our host was just the beginning of a great stay at 17 Burgate|We arrived four hours early and called in at the premises to see if we could leave our car. Not only could we park our car in the rear private car park but our room was ready and we were allowed to occupy it with an invitation to meet back at the B and B for a complimentary afternoon tea in their beautiful garden.|When we returned at 4pm we were served with a mini traditional afternoon tea with some delightful cakes.|We returned to the room to find a small decanter of sherry on our table and water/milk in a small fridge which were all greatly appreciated.|After spending the evening at a fantastic restaurant called "Willowgate Bistro", which is only two minutes from the accommodation, we returned to our room and had a great nights sleep in an extra large bed with amazing pillows and Egyptian cotton sheets.|Our large bathroom contained large fuffy robes and everything you could need.|Breakfast was one of the best we have had at any B and B or Hotel for sometime.|Ashley and Alan (Owners) should be very proud of this fine B and B in a lovely townhouse in Pickering which deserves all the accolades it gets.|We were lucky on Saturday 28th June to be able to make a last minute booking for the one night but after this experience we will return asap for a much longer stay.||Many thanks Ashley and Alan.
