17 on Bird Guest House

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by this establishment. There is a reason they do not upload pictures of the "cottage flat". It is terrible, and not fit for occupancy. If you ever get offered a "cottage flat" , do not take it. You have to walk through other houses and courtyards to get to it. The door is faulty and you have to body slam it to get in. The aircon was not working so it was a sauna. But, the worst part was the dead cockroaches and insects next to the bed, and it was not the cleanest. When I called reception about all these issues, the person was very dismissive and unhelpful. I can understand that all the rooms were booked out and they could not provide me with alternative accommodation, but a sincere apology and an offer to clean the room and remove the dead bugs that were around my bed would have gone a long way. Needless to say, I left the hotel in the middle of the night. Oh, and avoid the "cottages" in general if you value security. Apparently the main hotel is nice, but the three-bedroom and two-bedroom cottages are not in the main hotel behind security gates. They're actually just houses opposite the hotel, with absolutely no security.

We spent one night at 17 on Bird, and was very impressed with them. The communication was above the usual, all was sorted right from the beginnng to the end. The room was lovely, clean and we had a good night rest. The next day we had a lovely breakfast. The staff was friendly and efficient at all times and it was such a pleasure to stay there. I would however suggest that they have a look at their Lamb Shank on the menu as it was not up to standard.

The service was phenomenal. Our room was neat and the perfect place for us to rest for the night. The food was lovely and well worth the price. They were so friendly and accommodating. Will definitely visit again.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received from this establishment. After entrusting them with my belongings and keys for cleaning, I discovered that a valuable clothing item had gone missing. What bothered me most was their nonchalant attitude when I reported the issue. The response I received was dismissive, simply stating that the cleaner didn't see it. I know for a fact that the item was left in the bathroom. The lack of concern and accountability is alarming. The fact that they didn't take my concern seriously is unacceptable. I expect a higher level of responsibility and customer care from any establishment, especially when it comes to safeguarding personal belongings. Unfortunately, this place fell short.

Highly Recommended! Rooms is well equipped with clean bedding and aircon. Manager was friendly and professional. Staff was friendly. Price was well in range for amenities. Stay was pleasant.

Stumbled on this gem by accident, after turning away from two other places of accommodation. Extremely friendly service. Comfortable, neat and clean rooms. Stayed in a family room with small kitchenette and everything you could need. Unfortunately just an overnight stay as we were on the road. If I’m ever looking for accommodation in Beaufort West again I would definitely stay at 17 on Bird.

Personnel are very friendly and helpful. Rooms is clean and specious. Breakfast is healthy and more than enough to satisfy any member. Thy cater for all food preferences.
