17 on Bird Guest House

We always stay here when we have horse riding events in Beaufort. Super clean rooms, great beds and bedding. Nice hot showers. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable from cleaners to host. Would definitely recommend this place.

I unfortunately could only stay at 17 on Bird for one night - as I was on my way to Gordons Bay. Absolutely awesome place to stay - great service, comfortable and relaxing. BUT the thing is that I ordered the Lamb shank from the menu for dinner - well, let's not play around, it was out of this world, so delicious!! Then for breakfast, same treat - just a very satisfying experience - thank you kindly. Got to get to 17 on Bird :-)

This bnb is really nice. It's clean, staff friendly and helpful. We had a loud guest in the room next to us but it didn't take away from the overall stay.

The service was phenomenal. Our room was neat and the perfect place for us to rest for the night. The food was lovely and well worth the price. They were so friendly and accommodating. Will definitely visit again.

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by this establishment. There is a reason they do not upload pictures of the "cottage flat". It is terrible, and not fit for occupancy. If you ever get offered a "cottage flat" , do not take it. You have to walk through other houses and courtyards to get to it. The door is faulty and you have to body slam it to get in. The aircon was not working so it was a sauna. But, the worst part was the dead cockroaches and insects next to the bed, and it was not the cleanest. When I called reception about all these issues, the person was very dismissive and unhelpful. I can understand that all the rooms were booked out and they could not provide me with alternative accommodation, but a sincere apology and an offer to clean the room and remove the dead bugs that were around my bed would have gone a long way. Needless to say, I left the hotel in the middle of the night. Oh, and avoid the "cottages" in general if you value security. Apparently the main hotel is nice, but the three-bedroom and two-bedroom cottages are not in the main hotel behind security gates. They're actually just houses opposite the hotel, with absolutely no security.

This is a small gem in a rough town. If you have to stop in Beaufort then look at these rooms. We were impressed by the rooms since our previous visit to Beaufort was an awful stay in another place down the road. 17 on bird were very helpful, the cottage was clean and tidy and the garden was perfect for the dogs to stretch their legs

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received from this establishment. After entrusting them with my belongings and keys for cleaning, I discovered that a valuable clothing item had gone missing. What bothered me most was their nonchalant attitude when I reported the issue. The response I received was dismissive, simply stating that the cleaner didn't see it. I know for a fact that the item was left in the bathroom. The lack of concern and accountability is alarming. The fact that they didn't take my concern seriously is unacceptable. I expect a higher level of responsibility and customer care from any establishment, especially when it comes to safeguarding personal belongings. Unfortunately, this place fell short.

The overall service was very good, fantastic bed. the location is excellent, i even walk to the shops. police station is just a stone throw , which give more security assurity
