"Heritage Tea House, Sheung Wan Upper. I stopped in this tea house for the first time recently for a quick break before getting back into a busy day. I tried the White Peony tea which was aromatic and calming. It was only $40 (HK) and served with a small dish of dried fruits, nuts and a lotus seed paste bun – really good value. I was also given a sample of the Royal Iron Buddha tea to try which had a strong pleasant medicinal flavor, I'll be going back for a full pot of this. You can also buy teacups, teapots and nicely packaged teas in here."

Yelp
Cool little tea shop that serves tea drinks with steamed milk or brewed specialty tea. If you come here don't pass up the pastries. I found the baked goods to be really good. The tea drinks were good also but are on the expensive side where a beverage is around 60 hkd. Definitely a good place for an afternoon tea. Baked goods: 4.5 stars Tea: 3.75 stars Value: 3 stars Environment: 4 stars Overall: 4 stars Recommendations: fog scone, chiffon cake

Yelp
Great brunch!! Totally vibed with the area, and a change of scene from the normal cha chan tangs i had be frequenting on my hk trip. Was served three ricotta pancakes ($118 hkd) with blueberries, syrup and bananas. Although the portion was small, the fluffiness of the pancake and light sweetness of the syrup made the dish de-lish! If you go before 11am on mon-fri you get a choice of one of four drinks- i opted for the lemon tea with charred lemons (makes a big difference!!). They also had mint infused water near the bar area, and a separate two floor area for seating, accessible by walking out and around the left corner into a separate below space. Mason jar lights dangle from the ceiling and a light teal wall and yellow flowers brightens the room. My friend and I sat here for a little over an hour sketching the space. They give you a buzzer that beeps when ur food is ready for pick up- my pancakes took around 20 min, as there was a group of 5 in front of me. The bathrooms clean, the service is good, and their playlist is indie coffeehouse! Not crowded on a Monday around 10. A great place!

Yelp
I'm almost ashamed to say how many times I visited Teakha during my short stay in Hong Kong, but I can say that the third time was just as good as the first. My friends and I fell in love with this cute little shop. The staff had great recommendations for food and drink and they were very friendly. Between our many visits, we enjoyed Thai iced tea, avocado toast, Persian Style fig and Orange Pancakes, breakfast Peach crisp, red Jade with Yuzu honey tea, caramelised lemon tea, keemum Rose milk tea, and tea eggs. Everything was outrageously delicious. The shop was busy every day but somehow everyone got served very quickly. The only minor con is that there's no restroom. So, go before you get there and you'll be just fine. ;-)

Yelp
It's hard to find a true calming sanctuary in such a busy city, but Teakha is the perfect hiding spot. Come in for a tea and sandwich? Their new place comes with their very own bakery so stay tune for a list of their delicious sweets! Their Thai Iced Tea is the best. Hygge is life at Teahka!

Yelp
One of my favorite brunch spots in the world. On our visit to Hong Kong, we had the good fortune of staying in a hotel right around the corner from Teakha in Sheung Wan, and we returned to this charming little restaurant over and over. Everything we ordered was truly outstanding and world class. The granola is the best I've ever had anywhere in the world - decadent caramelized banana and a medley of textures. The French toast, avocado toast, and green tea ice cream were outstanding. The service was great, and there are two charming seating areas - including a secluded room with a large table in the basement. What an amazing find in an amazing neighborhood full of interesting stores and concepts. Teakha gets my highest recommendation- can't wait to return in my next HK holiday!

Yelp
Very small place. Fits around 8 people inside; there's outdoor seating. We got the Thai cheesecake, hot yuzu tea and roselle mint tea. Thai cheesecake was nice and smooth, buttered textured. Can't really taste the Thai tea, it's baked with some of the Thai tea leaves. This was a little disappointing. Hot yuzu tea was delicious, but ask for a spoon to stir it. I made the mistake in finishing most of it and had all the syrup on the bottom. Roselle mint tea was well presented, it came unsweetened and it's a sour minty; not everyone's taste but I was ok with it. Staffs were friendly and we had a good time.

Yelp
Teakha is lovely small cafe with the best Masala Chai in town! The mix of Keralan spices with Assam tea is the best comforting drink. My other favourite picks would be the Sea Salt Yin Yang which is a premium version of the "yin yeung" you get from local cha chaan teng. For something cold, I'd go for the Iced Thai Milk Tea that's a tad sweeter than normal milk tea but has a smokey aroma to it. Tip: Add HK$10 to your drink for one of their buttery scones, available in Longan, Matcha with White Chocolate, Pineapple Honeycomb, Ginger, etc. In case you want something more, they have a Rose Lychee or Chai Cheesecake which I can only say is okay. Their brunch selection is good though and my pick would be the pancakes with bacon and banana drizzled in maple syrup! -- voodie rating: 8.5/10 -- HK$60 for a drink HK$10 to add a scone with your drink HK$50 for a cheesecake

Yelp
I came to Teakha after having this recommended to me several times. The place is really small, only one table and a few counter seats, but they have more seatings outside and in the building next door, if it's too hot to sit outside. Hong Kong is too hot at the moment so i opted for counter seat. I got their green tea cheesecake since this seems to be a favorite, and the Keemun rose tea. The bill came out to be HK$103 which i thought was super expensive. However, when the order came i knew why they are pricey. This was no ordinary tea served in a plastic cup. The rose tea was really nicely presented with milkfoam and rose petal + honey on top of it - probably the prettiest drink I have ever had. The green tea cheesecake did not disappoint too! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, so much that i went back the next day to try the Osmanthus black sugar keemun tea with honey comb. This is slightly different in presentation than the rose one, but taste-wise it's pretty similar. Love it, highly recommended.

Yelp
While visiting San Francisco this past week, a colleague asked me which local businesses I love most in Hong Kong and Teakha was top of mind. Saying that I love this place is a grand understatement. To find a centrally-located café in Hong Kong that is relaxed and chill is like finding a needle in an urban haystack. Does it even exist? Well Teakha's space is built with the art of simply hanging out in mind, with an expansive menu of teas and a super cool outdoor patio complete with logs to sit on and water misters to combat that lethal one-two punch of HK heat and humidity. How cool is that? It's also dog-friendly. The staffers directed me to a DIY water refill area so I could fill up my portable water bowl for my furry sidekick Sasha. As for human treats, I always order the spicy Masala chai and the yogurt parfait with housemate granola and fresh fruit is exceptional. I don't often put something like a yogurt parfait in the same OHMYGOD category as say, a decadent cheeseburger, but this parfait is just that crave-worthy. Check out Teakha next time you're in the area - and chill out for an hour!

Yelp
Little quiet dandy place, brings out the modern-hip hong kong for the more reserved individuals. The whole idea of them revolving around freshly brewed tea and homemade cakes is simply simplistic. We had the matcha cheesecake, chiffon matcha and a strawberry/earlgrey? cake. My favorite was the strawberry one whilst my other friends preferred the chiffon matcha. I'm no cake enthusiast but this place really lets you relax behind the busy streets of Hong Kong.

Yelp
This is a really chillaxing place. Would love to come here more often. Before you go crazy about how "Poho" (YEAH I calling it Poho) is overhyped, let's sit back and take a look at what did I enjoy about this place. The integration of the shop and the public space, and hence the community. I liked the outdoor area, where you sat on a wood log on a back alley (twist: a decent and clean back alley). They had this really cool (literally) "mist fan" that keeps you happy outdoor under the sun. It's also dog friendly, so my new met sharpei friend Sasha enjoyed the time too. Teakha specializes in tea... yeah so I guessed I'd order some. Picked Masala Chai, and it blew my mind! I didn't remember the last time I had a tea that would make me feel different, but this one certainly did. It's not your traditional Chinese, Japanese, or English tea. It has a very strong favor but not bitter at all. Now, it's my lucky day to have the staff actually taking photoshoots of their new dish, Masala Chai Brownies. I got it, they're brownies. And I knew that I was on diet, but I just couldn't resist ordering one. It was good, and not heavy at all. Definitely got all the balance right. On the side note, the government disgusted me by warning (and maybe fining too, I don't remember correctly) that they occupied the street (i.e. the back alley). And now I have finally been here, I can totally say that it is ridiculous. It's a back alley of a deadend road detoured from a quiet main road in one of the most hipsterish neighborhoods in HK. And if it's not Teakha, the back alley wouldn't be as clean and as tidy. Meanwhile, there are illegal landfills and land developments in country park in New Territories, and the government never practically steps in to stop them. Public space is hard to come by in HK, and make the best use of them is even harder. Keep classy Teakha, we love you.

Yelp
I found Teakha on foursquare and decided it would be a good place to stop in and do some work while in Hong Kong visiting a friend. First, note that Teakha (like the name implies) is a tea house. There is no coffee on the menu. There are plenty of deserts though. The shop itself is separated into two separate spaces. One is where you order, you can also sit at the few spaces they have at the counter. The second is next door and is tables only. While Teakha does provide free Wi-Fi, note that it doesn't work at all on the second floor of the seating location. Tea time: - Masala tea (HKD48) - Green tea cheesecake (HKD42) - Hojicha cheesecake (HKD42) The thing that drew me to this place was the cheesecake. Photos I had seen were very enticing. The tea I thought was good, pretty spice-y (not spicy, but a tiny bit), and not sweet. The green tea cheesecake was, unfortunately, not as amazing as I hoped it would be. The green tea flavor was barely noticeable and the cake itself was a bit dry. The hojicha cheesecake on the other hand was delicious! Super creamy and had a nice roasted tea flavor (actually pretty strong, so not for someone that doesn't like a strong roasted taste). The space itself is quite nice. It definitely has a "trendy" vibe to it. If you're not looking for a place with Wi-Fi, it's a nice place to sit with a book and/or do work unrelated to the Internet, as there is no time limitation. Some of the servers are quite nice, others are neither warm nor rude.

Yelp
¡ Awesome pineapple bun sandwich with egg and pork floss !! I love this little place and the staff is nice. My masala chai was great

Yelp
Relaxing spot. Always good drinks. Food: Have tried the Hojicha, Keelun Milk Tea, Chai Tea, Masala Chai. All good and very smooth. Breakfast and lunch have both been good here as well. Recent discovery of the pineapple bun sandwich with ham, egg, tomato and pork floss was verrrry good! Very crunchy bun and surprised the flavors matched well. The green tea cheesecake has a very strong tea flavor, and isn't too sweet. Smooth consistency, and not to heavy. Environment: Teakha is also a great spot when there is good weather, as you can choose to sit indoors or outdoors. One of my favorite places to go. Though it's popular, I love that they still have tucked away, hidden feel and they always take the time to make your tea and boil each portion in a pot.

Yelp
Adorable little hole in the wall! I heard so many great things about this place before deciding to come here. it's a lovely little place in Sheung Wan that is more difficult to find than I expected. No kidding, it's hard to find. Don't be shy and ask locals for help! They are lovely and would gladly assist your lost soul. Not only that, but there are a bunch of new tea places in Sheung Wan so that ups the difficultly level...but this place takes the cake! Or should I say tea? It was my first time here and I decided to get the pumpkin spice cake and the mexican hot chocolate (?). I can't remember the exact name but the hot chocolate was definitely spicy. It was a strange taste but I would come back to try another drink another time! The cake was cute and festive, perfect for the Christmas season. They added festive items to the menu which was why I definitely had to give those a try! The atmosphere for Teakha is pretty hipster, cute, and cool. I'm not sure how else to describe it! There are little tables and chairs inside with a homey sort of feel. While outside, there is a large space where you can find tables, potted flowers, a sofa, and a clutter of magazines. Remember to walk up to the cashier to order! I made that mistake my first time here. Hopefully the next time I come here I can try the item that everyone recommends, the matcha green tea cheesecake. Sadly, they were all out when I got there but I'll make an effort to stop by the next time I'm in Hong Kong!

Yelp
Cute little tea shop in Sheung Wan that's known for their pastries and steeped teas. The interior is tiny but adorably set up with a few of their products (cups, apron, books, etc.) to your left, a small table seating 2 people comfortably with a bunch of counter seats around the shop. You take a few steps down from the sliding door and are greeted by the employees you see behind the counter with a bunch of pots, kettles, cups, tea bags steeping, and pastries right in front of you. NOTE: COOKED TEAS TAKE 20 MINS TO PREPARE!! Ordered a COOKED TEA which they mention takes 20 mins to prepare. The Sea Salt Yin Yang which is a black tea from Sri Lanka. Yin Yan because it was half milk tea and half coffee with condensed and evaporated milk with a sprinkling of sea salt. This was something new and oddly enough the best one I had from their shop. My friend had the Thai tea and this was lovely as well but quite common to have. We took our drinks to the outside which had a low wooden bench which you can use with seat cushions for your pleasure. It can sometimes be rainy in HK so they also provide some natural insect repellant for when the mosquitos come. Sitting down you can have a nice time sitting with a makeshift wooden crate/box table infront of you to set down your food/drink while you just sit back and check out local life happening right by you. We were lucky enough to see a bunch of street art ( more of which are just around the corner so you can take your drinks to go) and an old man with his shirt half up (which was actually delightful and humorous to us and did not hinder us from having a good time). DEFINITELY WANT TO COME BACK FOR: SEA SALT YIN YANG, KEEMUN MILK TEA with RED DATE AND HONEY, the KEEMUN VARIATION WITH ROSE TEA, Green Tea Cheesecake, Hojicha Cheesecake

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem in Sheung Wan! I loved the environment of the cafe and their outdoor seatings. A lot of people rave about their matcha cheesecake so I gave that a try. It was good but I thought it wasn't as great as everyone says (since I had a high expectation from all the raves about it). It was definitely a good cheesecake but I wish there was more matcha flavor in it. As for the drink, I got the caramelized lemon iced tea and my friend said it was supposed to have a roasted kind of flavor. However, my experience with it was it tasted like an ordinary lemon iced tea. Me eating the cheesecake first might have affected the taste of my drink. It was still really good overall. I would totally come back and I want to try out all their unique drinks!

Yelp
Tucked away in a dead-end street in Hong Kong, this hidden cafe creates a comfy and hip ambiance that attracts a young crowd. I thought it's quite weird that they split up their seating areas and the bar, but whatever it works out. This place is really comfortable and cute, and the food is da bomb. I got their rose milk tea and I loved how they put the rose petals on top. The tea was also covered in milk foam which gives it a mystic look.
google avatar

Matthew L.

Yelp
The masala chai and roselle scones were both delicious. The tea room is located in a back alley with nice outdoor seating, and the staff was really nice in explaining the flavors for each tea. A great stop for anyone near SoHo or central to take a break, indoors or outside. The chai is delicious either hot or cold, so come in whatever weather.

Yelp
Teakha is one of my top favourite places to hang out in HK. The owner, Nana Chan, is an individual who supports community issues, and has put her heart and soul into this venture. She has travelled extensively to source the best teas for the shop. My favourite is the caramelised ice lemon tea, and the cakes are delectable. The setting is in a small shop adjacent to a public area, in which a young, artistic, and friendly crowd gathers on rugs, stools and a synthetic grass lawn. Come here to see a different side of Hong Kong, a mix of local and western community and if youre lucky you might even see a indie musician or a talented artist drawing for the guest!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this out-of-sight cafe on Tai Ping Shan street. I ordered what I can only describe as the perfect pick me up: Sea Salt Yin Yang iced milk tea at Teakha. This is a twist on the traditional HK cha chan teng drink of a mix of tea and coffee using Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka coffee (roasted by Coffeelovers) and condensed milk! I give it a 4 rather than 5 only for mid-high range pricing and the fact that cards aren't accepted yet which can be a little inconvenient but the staff are nice and I reckon I'll be back to try some food at some point.
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
Teakha is an adorable little back alley cafe in SoHo that offers a reprieve from one's boutique-ing and shopping grind. They offer a variety of large batch teas in pots and single serving items as well. They also offer a handful of baked goods from cheesecake, scones and tarts. The baked goods were reasonably priced but the teas were more expensive than what I would find back in the states. $7 USD for one serving of rose oolong tea is a bit much, but they do take their tea more seriously here.
google avatar

Yelp
such a cute place! the decor inside and out is super cozy; nice place to relax and chit chat in the chaos of this city. Definitely recommend the masala chai and sea salt yin yang. So so good! The chai took a bit of time around 15 minutes to prepare but definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Anchisa P.

Yelp
Tea café in Sheung Wan serving tea and tea-based dessert. I like the green tea cake here as well as the scone. Desserts have good texture though the tea smell could be stronger. The drinks i.e. tea are so-so / a bit disappointing considering it's a tea place
google avatar

Janet K.

Yelp
Small but cute location. Tried their chai tea and green tea cake! The chai was not super fragrant and more milky than "spicy" and the green tea cake was light and fluffy but seems to be pretty average. This place is always packed so I came during the weekday when there's less people. The weekends get especially packed. I wouldn't say that the wait is worth the tea/cake. Tip: they have a outside area where they have a patch of artificial grass where you can sit and chill. Good vibes.
google avatar

James N.

Yelp
LOL, was with the reviewer who posted right before. I have to reiterate how long the wait was. The numbers didn't really add up. 5 PEOPLE WORKING - 1 worked on tea - 1 worked on pastries - 2 chit-chatting - 1 went to use the restroom then came back after a while... 20+ minutes wait time This Keemun Milk Tea w/ Red Date Honey was not worth the wait.

Yelp
I did not realize that "hipster" coffee shops are a global thing but here's one in Hong Kong :) It's not a bad thing, I just find it amusing. Getting here was a little tricky. IF you're taking the MTR then you need to get off at Sheung Wan and go on a little walk. It's not super close to the station and it's located (to me at least) in the middle of nowhere. I'm not super familiar to the area so I found it surprising that amongst the marketplaces and super packed streets, there's this quaint little area of serenity. It's right next to a monastery! Teakha is also next to some really trendy, "hipster", more westernized shops. It's really adorable! The shop itself is located in an unassuming white building with the name Teakha printed faintly on the front door. They have the main shop to order and sit around, but they also have a separate room with a larger table to sit in and outdoor seating. Walking in, you are greeted with the smell of the teas and spices they're cooking. They have a really old school way of cooking their teas....and that's in pots. You can see it clearly as you go up to order and pay for your drinks. Next to the pots are the beautifully crafted cakes and pastries on display. The menu is in english and the workers can all speak a decent amount of english. I got their coffee milk tea drink (iced) with their green tea chiffon cake. The coffee milk tea was interesting, you could definitely taste the coffee and tea as two separate flavors. I liked it but I think if I get the chance to go back, I would go with the tea. The green tea chiffon cake was marvelous. I don't like cream in cake but the cream in the cake was light and airy. It also wasn't super sweet which made it enjoyable to eat with the cake. The green tea flavor was also strong in the cake but I loved it. It was great place to stop by and just rest for a bit. And yes, if you were wondering, they do have wifi and a bathroom. I'm glad we got a chance to stop by here since it's a highly popular spot and got my friend and I to explore a little more of Sheung Wan :)

Yelp
I spent two of my greatest times in Hong Kong in Teakha's outdoors space. I was introduced to the place by a very good friend, while we walked around the now super hyped area of Tai Ping Shan Street. The street is now packed with charming cafes and galleries but Teakha was a first comer and they set the area's hipster style trend. They define themselves as a cafe and zakka store (from the Japanese, anything that can improve your home and life) and serve teas and pastries. I have tried their Jasmine Blossom and their Roselle and Fresh mint teas. They are organic and handmade and you can see them brewing your tea at the counter. Breakfast and brunch are also served, with a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. Besides the food, the best thing about Teakha is their seating space, both indoors, in a two-story annex and outdoors, with just a couple of chairs. On my first time there I found Teakha the perfect place to grab a tea and read or work at the upper side of their annex. It feels homey and it was particularly quiet. But that's only on weekdays, as weekends is absolutely packed and you may not even been able to find a free seat. On my second time a friend and were walking around Tai Ping Shan and noticed the huge crowd around the cafe: there were bands playing and stalls selling juices (including highly recommended Pure Swell!), handmade accessories, clothing...it was organized in conjunction with Teakha and at the end of the show, they brought some delicious food and invited the singers and participants to eat. Everything looked so good that my friend approached them and asked if we could try some of it and they kindly invited us to pick some of the delicatessen! So yummy. For the whole show we seated at a small table enjoying our tea, the music, a good conversation and, at the end of it, some savory eats! What else could you ask for...? Thanks Teakha for creating such a great atmosphere and making my Sundays unforgettable!

Yelp
Too old to sit outside on the fake lawn which could be actually nice and chill. Caught a flu so I have ordered a mine herbal tea which is soothing.

Yelp
Teakha is an adorable, quaint, rustic cafe shop that rests on the corner of Tai Ping Shan Street. I was brought her by my friend who is also my yoga instructor. We wanted to go to Cafe Dead-end but it was jammed packed with people so she brought me here and I was so over joyed! It's such a cute little shop, with super minimal seating indoors and some seating outdoors. When you walk in you smell the flowery and aromatic notes of teas brewing in the back with scones, pastries and little delicacies baking. On the walls are little antique, trivia that keep your imagination wondering as if you've entered a wizards tea shop. I ordered the yin-Yang, halg coffee and half tea. It was their signature and I always go to signature by default as the restaurant is claiming it as their best seller why would you order otherwise right? I also had a mushroom Quiche and my friend ordered a strawberry scone. My yin-yang was soooooo good. I had it iced due to the sweltering heat and after yoga, my body needed to cool down. I dug into my quiche and it was perfect. It wasn't too eggy like most quiches are. It was fluffy and the crust was chewy and crispy, perfect combination. The filling of the quiche complimented perfected with the mushroom in it and everything just melted so amazingly balanced in my mouth, I was in love with this place. Washed it down with some more of my yin-Yang and tried my friends strawberry scone. Delicious! Not too sweet, chewy and crunchy at the same time. Subtle notes of strawberry and pastry dough. Perfect! This was my first experience at Teakha and it is definitely not my last!

Yelp
Why on earth did my boyfriend have to wait over 20 minutes for a cup of tea when there were only 2 other customers in the place? I ordered a Thai Tea, while he ordered the Keemun Milk Tea with Red Date Honey. I got my drink immediately, so I tried to wait a few minutes because I saw one of the workers working on a drink. This drink probably took 10 minutes to prepare, but sadly it was actually for the table next to us. After this, she started on my boyfriend's drink, which took another 10+ minutes. Honestly, I am not usually one to critique a bit of a wait, but this was a bit ridiculous, considering there were only 2 tables with people, and there were FIVE people working at the counter. One person was working on pastries, one was doing the tea, and the other THREE WERE JUST STANDING THERE. I know people have their own roles/jobs, and I understand that it takes a while for tea to steep, but could you not work on two cups at once? The Thai Tea was pretty average/meh, but I finished it way before my boyfriend got his drink. The tea that we had long awaited was actually quite nice, which partially made up for the long wait, but still...I can't believe we had to wait this long when the place was so empty.

Yelp
I had the Roselle Mint Tea, which was essentially hibiscus tea with a slight minty flavor. Could be more minty though, but overall pretty decent. My boyfriend had the Local Harvest Marigold, which was interesting, to say the least. It was very fragrant, but had a grassy taste to it. It had a great atmosphere in the upstairs loft, which was completely empty when we went and felt very intimate and cosy. However, this place is really expensive. The total came out to $103, which I found ridiculous for two cups of tea. Would I go back? Maybe if they lowered the price. Otherwise, I'd be better off just buying the tea leaves and making it at home for way cheaper.

Yelp
Usually not a fan of sweet cake-types, but this is the best green tea cheesecake I've had. I also wouldn't typically order chai drinks (too sweet). But the best masala iced chai. Stop by after browsing Cat Street!

Yelp
Consistently well-made desserts and a great assortment of teas! As charming as the space is, it could be a bit inconvenient and risky holding your drink/dessert and trying to find a seat.

Yelp
Fun place and can be very relaxing mid week. Weekends it is chockers full of everyone craving a nice cuppa and cheeky slice of cake or muffin. Wish this was in my neighbourhood!

Mick W.

Yelp
The staff here went above and behind to help me get my hands on some of their marigold tea to take home with me. I'm so incredibly grateful to them. Aside from their willingness to help a girl out, their tea is amazing, and so is their food.

Yelp
One of my favourite places in Hong Kong. Great tea. Good matcha financier and cheesecake.
