Having visited countless properties, wineries, and restaurants in the Finger Lakes, this restaurant truly stood out. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt genuinely welcomed—an experience that is not always guaranteed. The ambiance and the view from the patio at sunset made for an unforgettable evening. However, what truly set this place apart was the exceptional hospitality of Amanda and her team. They remembered my name, and several staff members inquired about my day of winery tours, adding a personal touch to my visit. I will undoubtedly plan to stay here during my next trip to the area. And while the food was excellent, it was the thoughtful service that made all the difference.

Joe Waugh

Google
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. We recently visited, and the menu had completely changed. The food was amazing, staff is always super friendly, set on the water lovely atmosphere. Best seats are outside. Try everything!

C. Ellis

Google
I had breakfast and dinner here when I was staying at The Inn. The ambiance is decadent and the service is top notch. Amanda is the bees knees. The food is nice but not amazing. The breakfast potatoes are too salty and the rest of the food is a bit bland.

Google
Food is amazing. Service is great except waiting time. I did feel that we were forgotten. We were waiting probably 20 minutes (maybe longer, was feeling definitely longer) sitting at the table before we met our server. After that everything was perfect. We spent $300 for 3 persons dinner.

Kelley L.

Google
When we arrived for our reservation there was a sign at the desk saying the server would be right back to seat us. We waited almost 20 minutes for someone - the lined backed up and people behind us were even asking the inn desk if anyone was working at the hostess stand to which they replied "they should be with you at any minute" and we continued waiting. Once we were seated things went smooth. Food was good but not deserving of 5 stars in my opinion. Chicken although flavorful, it was dry. The French toast had an odd flavor that I couldn't place my finger on and definitely wasn't listed on the menu, maybe a batter seasoning? Fries were the best thing in my opinion that I tried. My guests enjoyed their dishes. Love that they serve local wines here. Tried the semi-dry Riesling and it was PERFECT. Beautiful view of the lake. May or may not be back.

Google
We stayed at one of the inns up the street, we had dinner here and sat out on the patio. The view of the lake was beautiful. Food and service excellent. It was a little cool out so the hostess turned on the heaters we didn't even ask. We also had breakfast here twice and the same great service. The grounds are well kept and there is an area by the water with chairs to sit and enjoy the sun set

Kim Stamberger

Google
Went to brunch with a group of family/friends; 6 of us. Open Table reservation service was easy to use and responsive. Service was a little slow but our waiter Damar was friendly and personable. Menu options are good and all meals were delicious and well-prepared.

Jessica Sorrentino

Google
Communication is key - had the slowest service ever. We were a group of 10, which I understand is large, but everything took too long with no communication through out the experience. Portions of the food were small. Drinks took 30min. Food took about an hour. Worst was that the bill took half an hour… we had to ask several times, asked for updates on when things would be out the whole evening. I think there was little attention because it was an auto grat 20% because there were 10 of us. The food was great but very small portions for the price. If you’re going to charge high end prices, you need to deliver high end service. Which in this case means bare minimum. Also a guest staying at the hotel - very disappointed.

Yelp
Had a fabulous dinner last night at the Aurora Inn and loved sitting in front of the fireplace. This was truly the BEST service I've EVER had at a restaurant. Special thanks to Theresa for a lovely evening and a Diet Coke!! Hope to return to take advantage of accommodations and Spa. Don't miss 1833 @ Aurora Inn.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Staff was incredibly friendly from the hostess at the door to the waitress. The food flavors are unique bold and delicious. There wasn't one item we have a single critique or complaint about. I had the iberico pork which was out of this world. And the artichoke appetizer was unlike any artichoke preparation I've ever had, so divine. My friends enjoyed the butternut risotto and the bruleed cambazola with the bread to dip and the onion jam- ten's across the board. Eaten as many restaurants all over and this ranks highly. Hoping I'll have a reason to return to the area just to eat here again!

Yelp
Good service, food was delicious! Went for Thanksgiving dinner and it was complete with all of the traditional fixings!
google avatar

Cody H.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. The wait staff was attentive and friendly and made the entire experience very enjoyable and memorable. Being vegetarian, it's sometimes hard to find an excellent fine dining experience, but they nailed it.
google avatar

Yelp
Service and our brunch was magnificent. First time having the shakshuka and it did not disappoint. Will definitely return soon!!

Yelp
A great Thanksgiving experience. First, ambience- a traditional Virginian-like dinning room that is well preserved, warm, classy and very well maintained. The greeters, waitresses, runners were very corteous, speedy, and ready to help without being in your face at all times. Second, for food, the Thanskgiving dinner is a set menu with 3 different options for appetizers, entrée and dessert. The srhimp appetizer was delicious, a great blend of olive oil, garlic and a hint of spice. My main dish was the steak, very well prepared at medium rare by default, a layer of manicured mashed potatotes, salted mushrooms and a sauce with a hint of red pepper. This dish was absolutely fantastic. My dessert was the pecan pie, done as it should, reminiscent of home baked pies. They have a vast selection of wines. We paired with a local Cab, which was too light for a Cab and for the rich meat. Reco to go European or West Coast reds. All in all, highly recommend this place for a special occasion. They also offer verious table sizes and arrangements, so your celebration can be something special, like ours was!

Yelp
A special lunch in a special place. My wife and I had our wedding reception here in the 80s, and we thought it would be nice to visit again and enjoy the dining room. We ordered a bottle of Pelligrino water, and an orange/pineapple mimosa and a melon spritz. The cocktails were great. For brunch, we had the classic breakfast, and the crabcakes Benedict. Everything was great other than the egss which were quite runny when we had requested just set. In any case, the farm to table offerings were tasty and fresh. We talked with the host at the front desk about the architectural changes that have been made over the years since we were there, and he was quite knowledgable. It made for a nice afternoon.

Yelp
Very nice date night restaurant. Server was extremely attentive to our needs. Food was prepared well. Outdoor seating with wonderful view.

Yelp
Location and view was lovely. Waitstaff was friendly. Cocktail was delicious. Focaccia bread with kalamata butter was heavenly. Why only 4 stars? The shrimp on my shrimp and grits was lukewarm. Didn't match the temp of the rest of the dish. Some of the other diners were loud complainers. Just entitled like "get my drink faster" to the staff and "it's too sunny can we adjust the umbrella...no can we move tables?" It did not allow me to just relax and enjoy. Folks, we are coming out of a pandemic and enjoying a beautiful place. Please be kind. You shouldn't be in a hurry in a town like this.

Yelp
This was a LOVELY evening and we will definitely be back. I loved everything about eating here. From the details on the napkin holders to the frozen ice cream dishes that the dessert was served in, I was WOWED!. Excellent service, fantastic atmosphere, and AMAZING food. My table had wine and cocktails- all were off the charts tremendous. But the food is the real star here... I had the bolognese and it was the perfect dish. Delicious from first bite until the last. My dining companions had the tenderloin (which was absolutely out of this world) and the scallops (I didn't personally try them, but they looked beautiful and I was told they were divine). We shared the charcuterie board which was excellent all around (loved the fresh currants!) and had various ice creams for dessert. The salted carmel pretzel ice cream was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. This is an absolute must-- we drove about 30 minutes from where we were staying to get here and the drive from Waterloo along the lake was breathtaking. Highly recommend! Great dinner!

Yelp
Came with friends to celebrate our graduation and the drive was worth it! The location is beautiful and our dishes were delectable! Would love to visit again and stay at Aurora Inn and walk around town.

Yelp
Loved our entire experience at 1833! The staff is amazing! So kind and so knowledgeable! The atmosphere was clean and formal. The food was amazing! I personally did the meal course option but you can do el La carte. Dessert was amazing as well

Yelp
Another visit to the Kitchen and and they did not disappoint! This night we decided on: ~ Delicata Squash vegan chorizo, root vegetables, winter greens, local apple ~ Pasta Bolognese hand-made pasta, sirloin, pork, tomato, garlic, parmigiano-reggiano ~ Beets concord grape gastrique, local chèvre My squash was out of this world! The presentation was incredible and the taste was like nothing I've ever had before and I definitely want to experience again!! The pasta was cooked perfectly! But the true stars were the beets. They were warm and tenderly cooked but not overdone and the chèvre just melted and made for an insanely scrumptious bite! Highly recommend all these dishes to anyone who visits the Inns of Aurora! As you can see from the pictures we have dined here quite a few times and the next dinner is always to the same exquisite level as the last!

S M.

Yelp
Caveat emptor If you are ill and have to cancel a reservation early in the day, this restaurant will charge $50/person. We've had good experiences here in the past but I don't think we'll ever make a reservation here again.

Yelp
We had the privilege of having brunch at the 1833 kitchen and bar on a Sunday. Perfection is the only word to describe the entire experience, from the food and especially the service and see very knowledgeable and friendly waiter, Darien. We had the mushroom and bacon omelette, cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and the petite salad, which was enough for two people, which could not have been fresher and more delicious. Darien offered us taste of wine, so we were not familiar with, and spent time discussing foods. This was a special occasion for my friend, and being in this lovely place, looking out the window, and having perfect customer service and outstanding food made it all the more special. We highly recommend this restaurant, and will return!

Yelp
The lovely old Aurora Inn is on the side of beautiful Cayuga Lake. The little town of Aurora makes the setting complete. The 1833 restaurant has an atmosphere of peaceful quiet with a feeling of s throughout. The seating is comfortable with views of the lake. The brunch/lunch menu is varied with breakfast fare, sandwiches and full meals. We had the Crab Eggs Benedict and the Steak Sandwich. Both were delicious. The service is also excellent. We had made a reservation on a Wednesday, but didn't need it. However, I would advise one for Friday through Sunday. The meals are on the expensive side , but we'll worth it. All in all it's a great experience.

Susan F.

Yelp
Great food and top notch meal! Great service and excellent view of the lake! Nice variety as well!

Yelp
Dinner at 5:30pm on the patio, overlooking the water, was a definite repeat worthy experience. Our server Katie was full of great suggestions. We listened to her, & ended up with a most memorable meal: 1833 NE IPA - a light & citrusy IPA, made in Aurora at Aurora Ale & Lager Co. So good that my (usually non drinking) group ordered it every time we were here & couldn't stop talking about it! Table bread - warm, soft focaccia w/a garlicky local red wine butter started us off perfectly Shrimp Souvlaki - a skewer of perfectly charred shrimp, veggie tabbouli, tzatziki & local feta Iberico Pork Loin - cooked medium, this was the most tender & moist pork I've ever tasted. Served w/a red pepper sauce, smoky potatoes, & tender asparagus, this nightly special was a winner! Lamb Chops - another impressive dish! Braised fennel on a potato celeriac mash, studded w/blackberries, & tender juicy lamb. Chocolate Pretzel Bombe - moist cake, chocolate shell, caramel sauce, whipped cream - yum Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp - this seasonal crisp was very strawberry, & only lightly sweet, & the house made chocolate mocha ice cream was super yummy on top Black Cherry ice cream - house made, yummy! Triple Berry Galette - this warm & flaky pastry had jammy berry goodness inside. But the surprising touch was the Vanilla Sambal ice cream requested on top! House made, this ice cream started off vanilla-creamy & ended w/a sambal-kick! Genius. Katie was perfectly attentive, all throughout the meal. The breeze & views off the open air patio, the wonderful food, & the top notch service made this a most memorable meal. Everything was so impressive, we came back for brunch the next day, & dinner the next, & were impressed again & again: Brunch: Braised BLT - the BEST BLT everr! Soft bread, very ripe tomatoes, smoky top notch bacon, crispy lettuce, generous w/the mayo. Crispy fries! Really good. Get. This. Seasonal Chop Salad w/chicken - cubes of NY cheddar & hard boiled egg, lovely dark leafy greens, grilled chicken, smoky vinaigrette. Dinner: Bolognese - meaty & savory, fresh pasta, super good Eggplant - an entree of all veg, topped w/local feta We didn't get dessert that night, but we heard that the house made nightly ice cream was piña colada, & the sherbet was purple carrot orange! Highly recommend, for dinner or brunch! Make a reservation though, because otherwise they will be booked solid!

Yelp
We had an outstanding Thanksgiving dinner at 1833. It was highly recommended by several friends for a nice holiday meal out. We made our reservations on Open Table for opening on Thanksgiving Day-11 am for the special meal service. They called to confirm a few days out. My husband, mother and two daughters were seated quickly with a view of the lake. It was a 3 course meal. I had a butternut squash tart for an appetizer, scallops for the entree and a mini chocolate pie for dessert. Everything was perfect- the serving sizes were larger than I expected. We ordered a bottle of sparkling rose for the table. Our server Maggie was outstanding. There was a nice kids menu- it is pretty fancy here but my baby slept and 4 year old was well behaved and I felt comfortable there with children. So far this has been one of my favorite meals since moving to the region. We are already planning another meal here soon.

Yelp
We had breakfast in the quaint Aurora Inn both mornings. I ordered the Mediterranean toast both days because it was that good. Black bean hummus, kalamata olives, tomatoes and feta with a side salad. I'm going to have to try to figure how to make this myself. My boyfriend got the baked French toast, I had a taste of it and it was so good and def on the heavier side of things. Plentiful side portions of bacon too. We went downstairs to look at the beautiful lakeside room, this would be a beautiful venue to get married at. We look forward to coming back, lovely little tucked away town

Yelp
I had dinner last night and breakfast this morning. I was going to leave a 5-star review but after this morning's breakfast, I want to leave a minus star review which I compromise to 3star review. For dinner, food and service were all good. We had no complaints. Thumbs up for everything. I didn't care for the wine we ordered but that's not anyone's fault. For breakfast, we started off well. But!!! My coffee cup wasn't clean but trying to get the attention of the waitstaff took forever. My grilled skillet was so salty. An order of EXTRA EXTRA CRISPY bacon came out droopy, not crispy at all. They took it back but came back out after we were done with our food. I was really disappointed.
google avatar

Deirdre P.

Yelp
Top notch. I've been here thrice and cannot wait to return. They have a new dinner pairing menu which is a must try. Very professional service that genuinely seems happy to be there. The outside patio currently has construction taking place that blocks the lake view but regardless the ambiance is clean and sophisticated. I promise you, this experience will be memorable.

Pat O.

Yelp
Tasting menu with wine pairing was off the charts delicious. Plating was beautifully done. Go.

Melissa M.

Yelp
My fiancé and I absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was amazing and well-thought of. The drinks were also great! The only downside was the wait-time, but other than that, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Ellis K.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here followed by a great breakfast. Pork dinner was incredibly delicious with all sorts of flavors going on. Wife's scallops with corn risotto was delicious. Breakfast skillet was hands down one of the best breakfast dishes I have had. Baked french toast was like a breakfast bread pudding. Service was very good with our server offering to make a special drink for my wife's birthday- plum sorbet, lemonade and gin, and it was tasty. Wine list good with several local wines to try. Will likely grab breakfast here on our way home it was that good!
google avatar

Alexander B.

Yelp
Wonderful place for yummy food with an amazing view of Cayuga lake. Highly recommend the steak! They cooked everything perfectly and we had a great dinner.
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
Very cute restaurant, fairly priced and delicious brunch! Best brunch in the area. I highly suggest the baked French toast, though everything was delicious
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Excellent service. Delicious food. We really enjoyed our experience. Ang and BJ and their support staff attended to every detail to insure a memorable meal.

Autumn H.

Yelp
We enjoyed breakfast with our large family including young children at the 1833 Kitchen and Bar. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious! The waitress even brought a blanket out for my son who was cold. It was such a special treat to be able to take our children to a very nice restaurant, and we felt very welcome! Great experience!

Che L.

Yelp
We went here for our anniversary brunch. We loved the atmosphere. My crab cake Benedict was delicious! Baked French toast was good and not overly sweet. My husband's steak and eggs platter was good but not exciting.
google avatar

Paula A.

Yelp
Stopped here for brunch on 2/26/22, and it was wonderful. Had a seat with a lovely view of the lake on a beautiful sunny winter day. Had a mango mimosa that was delicious and filled to the brim, very generous pour. And then the proscuitto eggs Benedict. They were delicious, in large part for the superb hollandaise sauce, probably the best I've ever had--silky, smooth, and with just the right amount of lemon to give it a bit of zing. All in all, a wonderul meal.
google avatar

Holly L.

Yelp
We ate both brunch and dinner outside at 1833 on our anniversary while staying at the Aurora Inn. The outdoor setting can't be beat, with beautiful views of Cayuga Lake and a lovely breeze. The service was great- attentive without being overbearing. Cocktails were excellent, as was the apple galette we had for dessert. The rest of our meal - an arugula salad, salmon appetizer, pork chops and trumpet mushroom entree - were solid but not memorable. Still, I would go back for the overall experience.
google avatar

Lena B.

Yelp
My husband and I had brunch and dinner here and the service and food was AMAZING. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. They work hard to sanitize between customers and keep everyone safe and comfortable. I highly recommend this place for any meal.
google avatar

Anita Y.

Yelp
An awesome dinner there for our anniversary! Dinner on the patio overlooking the lake was the perfect spot. Great & friendly service with great food. They treated us the champagne to celebrate our anniversary! Located in a beautiful historic town in the Finger Lakes.
google avatar

Leo B.

Yelp
What a charming restaurant in downtown Aurora! The ambience takes you back to the 1800's. Wait staff easily handled a group of six. All of the entrees came out at the same time. Salads are large and the meat addition or option is substantial. Would come back in a heart beat and will sure to visit when we return to the Finger Lakes region.
google avatar

Sam E.

Yelp
Had takeout from 1833 and I overall enjoyed the food. Got the salmon and steak entrees along with the chowder. The chowder was excellent with large pieces of seafood. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a great crust. The salmon was good but the rub on top was a little too overpowering and I had to scrap most of it off. Oh and the bread and butter was to die for!! Would definitely try 1833 again!!
google avatar

Akarshita S.

Yelp
We had dinner and brunch at 1883 during our stay in Aurora. Our dinner experience was mostly good. The service was a bit slow and the salad was not seasoned properly but apart from that everything was wonderful. The chicken entree was amazing and the dessert was nice as well. The brunch experience was much better. I really liked their mimosas and eggs benedict. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here if I visited Aurora again.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
What a lovely experience! Beautiful dining room, interesting menu options, delicious food and friendly service! Great find!
google avatar

Peter H.

Yelp
It was a bit of a drive to get here from where we stayed but worth it. What a beautiful Inn restaurant. Service was impeccable and they bent over backwards to accommodate my gf who is both gluten and fairy free. The homemade focaccia bread and herb butter were excellent. My gf had the lamb chops that she enjoyed. I had the strip steak that I too enjoyed. My only recommendation to the chef. Go easy on the salt. Everything was just a bit too salty for my taste. We ordered the side mushrooms and pea pods which we enjoyed too but just a tad too much salt. The view of Cayuga lake and the Inn is stunning. We were able to transition to the outside deck to sit when it became clear no more threat of rain. The staff ran around to make that happen and all greatly appreciated it

Dan G.

Yelp
Fabulous Valentine's dinner at the Aurora Inn's restaurant, 1833! Great atmosphere, service and food. My sweetheart had the arugula salad and diver scallops, she loved both. I had the outstanding seafood chowder and a perfectly cooked tenderloin. We're are booked for breakfast at the 1833 tomorrow morning...
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
It was a lovely brunch, the food was well-presented, and tasty! The ambience was relaxed with a great view, and the price very reasonable. Only issue was the French Toast, which turned out not to be a breakfast item, but more of a dessert offering (way to sweet). We think the menu should have done a better job of describing it. My wife couldn't eat it for that reason. Will know better next time : ) Other than that, highly recommended!
google avatar

A M.

Yelp
I adore everything about 1833 Kitchen and Bar. The food is absolutely delicious and well thought out. They have gluten free rolls if you'd like them for the table you just need to let your server know. The wine menu compliments the dishes and desserts. We have chosen to spend many special occasions dining here. The atmosphere is cozy with beautiful views. The balcony is a lovely spot in warmer weather to enjoy lunch. Dinners are lit by candle light and in the colder months the fireplaces add even more to the ambiance.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Dinner was amazing! Chowder... delicious. Wine suggestions, delicious. Didn't go overboard to the point it was disruptive but clearly attentive. My steak was cooked to perfection and my husband had the bolognese and it was only second to home cooked... Stopped in for night two and I'm sorry to admit we were the couple asking for the espresso martinis because I know they're a pain but thank you so much for not only making them, but for introducing us to a new vodka. We were so, so, so pleased and I can't wait to come back!

Austin S.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had. Great wine list and service. Excellent ambience for my Valentine's Day date

Unni P.

Yelp
This is one of only a few restaurants in the Aurora, NY area. It is inside the main Aurora Inn. We asked for an earlier dining time that what we had booked and they were very helpful in accommodating that for us. We dined outside and had a decent view of the lake. We were watching the sunset earlier so it was pretty dark when we ate. I only wished that they had some more lighting outside by the table we ate at. The food was good, the steak tasted really good. Same with the chowder. The drinks were very good as well.
google avatar

Jared S.

Yelp
Good food and good service. We had a wonderful seat overlooking the lake. They even took us early from our reservation time. the town of Aurora is impossibly cute! (The interior renovation does look a little bit like it was done by JCPenney...)
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Seems they can take the reservation but they can't keep the reservation. Don't have "outdoor seating" as an option if you can't actually guarantee outdoor seating.

Jessica K.

Yelp
Our friends recommended this place. We drove 40 min from the hotel we are staying in to get here. It was delicious. The waitress was so nice. The atmosphere is so cute. I would highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Cathy M.

Yelp
We drove quite a distance to go to breakfast here, as Facebook kept "suggesting" it and it did look beautiful, so we decided to take the drive and give it a try. We waited 35 minutes for pancakes and eggs; we had to ask what was taking so long. The dining room had cleared out and we arrived moments before breakfast ended, so we truly are confused as to why the food was so delayed. Further, nothing tasted good. The eggs were dry, the pancakes were so heavy and did not have the light, lemony taste as expected, the fruit dish consisted of some canned fruit, the "house made potatoes" were bagged hash browns that were overly salted and cold (you could feel the lard in your mouth), and the latte was terrible (and we've had lattes from all over the world so yes, we do know what a latte is supposed to taste like). We were the only ones left in the dining room and still waited over 15 minutes for our check. While the view of the lake was nice, it was extremely cold sitting by the windows and we could feel a breeze coming in. If you are going for the beauty of the Inn at Aurora, I highly recommend the place because the inn, and the restaurant, are gorgeous. If you're going expecting a high quality meal, as advertised, I do not recommend this establishment at all. We were so disappointed in so many ways. Maybe it was a really off day?
