Hot room, ac not keeping up even at night, one of the least comfortable beds or pillows I ever slept on. Great location and friendly staff but will stay elsewhere next time. Nice toiletries. Hotel seemed empty, I have not seen another single guest during my 2 days here, but that may be season related.||No upgrade was offered despite the hotel being empty and status.||

Really welcoming hotel, nice comfy bed and no noise, right in the middle of all the HAPPENINGS and the location is amazing. The staff , specially Verenice were truly one of a kind. Excellent!! If we return, we will for sure stay here, their partner hotel has excellent breakfast on a rooftop setting

Really a great experience all around. Service, location, room amenities, bed and pillow quality, furnishings. Others have commented on the noise from the "battle of the bands" in the Jardin de la Union, and the mariachis were at it when we arrived about 9:30 pm on a Saturday (and continued until after midnight). However, our room was in the back of the building (although on the lobby courtyard), and once ensconced in our room, I couldn't hear a thing. And I'm a light sleeper. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to others.

I had a wonderful experience at 1850 Hotel in Guanajuato. Upon arrival the front desk attendant Alex Hidalgo made us feel valued and welcomed. He greeted us with a genuine smile, checked us in efficiently and made an effort to make our stay enjoyable. The bellhop Omar was also very welcoming and handled our vehicle and luggage without any issues. We stayed in the Alexia room. The room was clean, comfortably air-conditioned, well prepared and comfortable bedding. I enjoyed the L’Occitane bathroom amenities. The scent is amazing and leaves your skin feeling refreshed. The location is centrally located in the main plaza and easy walking distance to all attractions. The rooftop bar offers a great variety of cocktails and amazing views of the city. Our room included breakfast at Casa Valadez. They offer fresh made bread and many delicious breakfasts entrees. I personally enjoyed the mole with chilaquiles and green juice. I highly recommend the hotel to singles, couples and families.

Such a beautiful Hotel, pictures do not do it justice. Alex and Bernice both were warm, welcoming and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Their entire staff was friendly. The room was so clean and beautiful and had all the essentials and more! The icing on the cake were the morning breakfasts! Location was the best. We will definitely stay here again, loved it!

Google
Very unique, well done boutique hotel located right on the square. Room overlooked the busy square in Guntajuato, with a small balcony. The wooden shutters helped keep the late night mariachi music at a minimum. Room was exquisite, bed perfect. Berenice was a fabulous host. Highly recommended

My wife and 17 year old son were treated like family. Alex, Omar and Paola were considerate and generous with great recommendations for our 3 day stay. On arrival greeted us as if they knew us forever and daily made sure we were enjoying our stay. We look forward to going back as the result of their professional service!! A week later we’re still talking about the great experience we had. We highly recommend this historic hotel for your stay.

Yelp
My driver was growing frustrated, not just by the language barrier between he and I but rather, for his inability to find Hotel 1850. We'd circled the town multiple times before a policeman advised him that the hotel is on a street where cars aren't allowed. Hotel 1850 is located right on the Jardin de la Union, the most central gathering place in all of Guanajuato. Yes, you can't get there by car but hotel staff is happy to meet you one short block away to guide you and your luggage directly there. And from there? Well, this is the perfect location for everything you may wish to do in Guanajuato City. I spent 3 nights here, at a cost of about $227US per night and that included daily breakfast for 2 at the restaurant beside the hotel. My room was nicely decorated, immaculate, featured a safe, mini-bar, ample hot water, and good water pressure. A rooftop bar plays loud music so I was pleased to be on a low floor but there's also a lot of music in the Jardin out front. Happily, closing tight the windows in the room drowned out all outside sound. The hotel itself is quite nice and safe, with a doorman and workers always right up front. Staff were warm and hospitable and versed in English. I didn't ask much of anything but they made it clear they could make arrangements for wherever I might wish to go or anything I might wish to see. On site spa services and a gym add to the offerings. I chose Hotel 1850 after doing a lot of research and was pleased to learn that I'd chosen well.

Yelp
Location, location, location! Perfect place to sleep, rest, and walk all day. We are right next to the theater, within walking distance to the university and basilica. Tours offered everyday and everywhere either via car or walking. Customer service here is prime( celeste and morning lady who always had a great recommendationl), reserve your ride from the airport and to san Miguel de Allende directly with them. Also they give you unlimited water bottles and the property is classy and elegant. Plus breakfast is included-.variety breakfast which is a lot more than a continental meal. Don't hesitate!

Yelp
We had a great experience here at this hotel. It's in a perfect location in the center of town. They went above an beyond at this hotel the staff were very caring and hospitable. The room was very clean. We will definitely be staying here again. Breakfast was also included from a classy restaurant next door. Starbucks is also next door so that was a plus.

Yelp
Unprecedented customer service!!! We were traveling to Guanajuato for a family wedding and hence had to make our reservations by phone (very good English speakers). Staff was so helpful, even arranged for transportation to and from the airport, toting our luggage to and from the van (7 adults, vehicles are prohibited within the Plaza / Jardin de la Union due to heavy pedestrian traffic) about 2 blocks from the hotel. One day we walked to the market (on our own) and it was quite a hike. When we wanted to visit the mummy museum, they suggested we take a taxi, good thing we did, it was further than the market. When needing a gift card for the wedding, they showed us exactly where we could find one as we had tried several shops on our own. This hotel was a little more expensive, but we chose it as it was within a short walking distance to all the scheduled activities, and the Pipila monument. I am so glad we did! Every tip we left was well deserved. Our group stayed in rooms Renata (inner, no window), Victoria, Pilar, and Isabel all with balconies overlooking the Plaza. Staff welcomed us every evening, even as late as 3am one night! Music went on past midnight, multiple early church bells ring daily, but the wooden shutters drown out the noise well, (earplugs are supplied) but we were so exhausted from walking everyday, we had no problem sleeping! Bedding was nice but a little excessive for us South Texans (we removed the duvet) and their AC isn't like ours, but we were very comfortable. Extremely clean. Lighting in shower could be brighter. Coffee and water in our room were complimentary. Daily complimentary breakfast at 2 different hotels, both delicious. Check out was at noon, but they happily held our luggage until we left at 4pm. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I hesitate to do this review as I want the hotel to myself. But I'll be fair. This hotel is great. Excellent location right across from the little garden or ficus trees and all the partiville. Came here for first time with the wife for our 21st anniversary. Waiting in our room was a hand written card wishing us an excellent 20th. So funny. Also a nice little tart paste. So good. The room is roomy. Has a great flatscreen TVs with Satilite tv. Excellent shower and bathroom. It's literally 15 feet from a huge party of music restaurants a garden pop up craft tables But what's crAzy when inside the hotel room you can't hear anything or barely anything. This place is comfy and I may only stay here when I come to GTO again.

Yelp
Hotel 1850 is a boutique hotel directly across from the Jardin de la Union. It includes a delicious breakfast next door at Casa Valadez, one of the top restaurants in Guanajuato City. The rates range from $180-$300 (depending on room choice). Lorena and the rest of the staff will take good care of you. It's our favorite hotel in all of Guanajuato & we stayed at Casa Del Rector, Edelmira, Villa Maria Christina, & Casa Virreyes. Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful terrace.

Yelp
Be prepared to be pampered! Hotel 1850 is the place to stay if you want to be centrally located. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the entire staff is a solid 10 in customer service. You are made to feel welcome!! Our stay included free breakfast at Casa Valadez restaurant which offered a large selection of breakfast dishes, all delicious! The parking in GTO can be challenging but the hotel staff took care of our parking needs at a very reasonable cost. We stayed in room Sara which features a vey comfortable king sized bed. This room does not have any windows but is perfect for sleeping in as its almost soundproof. Perfect for two persons but not ADA compatible as there is a two step level that leads to the restroom/shower area. Several nights we returned from our days activities to find a special treat. The best surprise was an assortment of macaroons, unbeknownst to them, we were celebrating a birthday! All in all the best part of this hotel is the staff. They were so attentive, always a smile and seeming to guess our every need. The day we left we had an early morning flight. Wouldn't you know it, the staff had our car ready, helped us with our bags and had even packed a lunch to go!! Bravo Hotel 1850!!

Yelp
Just left today, I had a WONDERFUL stay in Mexico, but this place was not at all responsible. This hotel was a PARTY scene last night. My wife and I had to wait a VERY long time to get into the elevator, since there was a line trying to get to the top floor where there is a club. There is a 4 person maximum in the elevator, but when we got to the elevator the guard starts pushing extra people into the elevator with no concern about coronavirus. I'm not sure which security guard because he was bald. But so unprofessional. When we got to our floor, the men in the elevator followed us to our room screaming nasty things because we asked them to not touch us. The security never called us to see if we were ok. I called down to the front desk and said that there was people harassing us and they did nothing. We felt so unsafe. The next day when we left our bald security guard got us a taxi to Silao that charged us $700 pesos. How does a nice hotel have such a crap security making everything horrible? Do not come here, if you see a bald security guard in the lobby, he is a troublemaker and just leave. Lots of nice hotels where you won't be ripped off. But this place is horrible. Stay FAR away. Unless you like being ripped off.

Yelp
Awesome hotel! Stayed here November 2018 for 3 nights Beautiful attention to detail. Excellent service! The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable they also have a wide verity of pillows to fit your preference. The best part is the breakfast vouchers they give you one per person to have an amazing breakfast at their next door restaurant, very good and the service is just as excellent! Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
That was our first time visiting Gto and a friend recommended this boutique hotel. We not only were amazed by how beautiful the place was, but also the attention we got from everyone there. I guess the only thing they do not have is a swimming pool, that would have been amazing.. lo recomiendo 100%, nosotros nos quedamos en la habitación Maria, la vista es extraordinaria, solo que en la noche se pone muy ruidoso, les recomiendo llevar algo que cubra los oídos y nos hubiera gustado que nos avisarán de este inconveniente, pero fue era de eso todo muy lindo

Yelp
There was nothing we didn't love about this hotel. It's gorgeous- the art and architecture is so much fun. The staff is over the top accommodating. We agreed the shower was worth the price of the room- the location was just perfect. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Beyond Great customer service! Came to celebrate my sisters birthday as well as a first timer at the festival internacional cervantino and i must say that it was beyond my expectations. Every single person that worked at the hotel was so polite and helpful. Always greeting us with a smile and with courtesy. Clean and great atmosphere. I got the double bed in which was very spacious. Location is walking distance from everything. Definitely will be returning back.
