WORST hotel in beirut! Definitely NOT a 5 star!! FAKE!! Arrived late last night and checked in after a long flight. I thought I was checking into a 5 star hotel but it feels like a 2 star max! The room stinks of dampness, the carpet is dirty, the walls the plaster is all coming off and the tables are stained. There is no toiletries in the bathroom and even for showering only one gel supposed to be for shampoo also all in one. I was moved to different room but same standard the only difference was less of a bad smell but it's still bad!! I have travelled the world and never come across a "5 star" like this! It's old and nasty and cannot wait to leave. Unfortunately I came to beirut for a operation and instead of coming back to the hotel room to rest thinking the standards will be as stated I will need to find somewhere else to go rest :( p.s the staff at the front desk refused to upgrade me despite low season and very low occupancy. This is very bad customer service which also adds to the lack of labelling this a 5 star should be 2 star max! And that's me being generous. Update.. woke up this morning where I can see better and there is actually mould on the walls!! Not healthy for any guest! I plan to leave this hotel immediately!!!!

Excellent location with walking distance from almost every worthwhile sightseeing site, restaurant, and Beirut landmark. The staff are very professional and amazingly hospitable. The front desk receptionists, Ms. Nadia and the other gentlemen, the manager, Mr. Raydan, and the service staff made our stay at 1866 very comfortable. My family and will definitely stay at this hotel every time we visit Beirut.

Extremely disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. The first room smelled horrible, the carpet was wet and dirty, and there was only one towel with no amenities. We called reception and were told to move to another room, but when we got there, the cleaner was still inside spraying perfume to cover the smell. We decided not to sleep there that night, and didn’t come back the next day either. To make things worse, my diamond ring went missing. My fiancé spent the entire night with the staff trying to locate it and even came back the next day to review the cameras, but it was never found. I had to call over ten times just to get someone to answer, and after all this, the “compensation” offered by management was a discount or upgrade next time, which is honestly insulting after such experience.

Rude and unprofessional staff. Their listing is misleading, i booked the city view with photos over looking the american university, i was surprised to have a room to the opposite side with an awful construction view. When i complained they didn’t bother to change my room to make my stay a better one. Additionally, me and my friend stayed in the room and we had two cars. On the check out they waived the parking fee for one car only and refused to waive for the other car even though we were both their guests. When i called the receptionist she was very rude and didn’t bother at all. I think the hotel is overrated and not worth the money at all.

Very very very poor and bad hotel Zero star hotel Very bad communication specially with Jowel & Mr. Marden salha, they let us to pay extra for a little dirt in a bed sheet , not knowing that it will go with the dry clean. The room was Old. The bed sheets was very very smelly and some dirts on it . The room smell bad humid when you enter . The water comes out from the bathtub in to the room . Really miserable Lots of other nice options in the place

The rooms are not amazing but ok. 1866 is about the view, location and service. The people in the hotel are kind and friendly. I recommend staying here definitely 👌

Not the expected experience! Very dirty and old room, with extremely bad odor as if there is mold. Couldn't sleep had to change rooms at 5 am and we checked out early as the ACs are not very well too. We didn’t even get an apology. So not worth it

Horrible center. I was looking for a stall in the restroom that has toilet paper and the cleaning lady told me “there’s no toilet paper; the administration does not put toilet paper in the restrooms.” ?!?!?!?! What kind of place is that
