1884 Paxton House Inn

Beautiful idyllic guest house - perfect for couples staying in Thomasville. Luxurious and comfortable. Beautifully designed inside and out. Outside garden and picnic area with adorable cafe lights. Main house is absolutely gorgeous and luxurious - full of Southern charm. Cottages have cute little fridge and coffee area, great work desk area, large comfortable bed, TV and wifi, and large comfortable bathroom. Very close to the Arts Center and restaurants like George & Louie's. We stayed during our visit to the Thomasville Wildlife Arts Festival. Keep in mind the parking lot is small and just in front of the cottages - so best to have just one car.

Excellent communication with host property owners, making it very easy to stay and enjoy the accommodations. Stayed in the Hansel 1 Cottage, which was fresh, clean, well-appointed, and comfortably cool. The bed and bedding were European quality.|The main house and grounds are beautiful. This is not a bed and breakfast per se, but a wonderful cottage lodging option with easy access to downtown and the many restaurants, shops, and services nearby.|Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood with little traffic and noise, the property has many shaded outdoor places and porches to enjoy. Parking is easy. Although we did not utilize the golf cart amenity, we believe there is one offered for guest use, which is terrific.|We will be back for certain. This is a gem in Thomasville.

The experience of staying at a bed and breakfast for the first time was beyond memorable. So homey and personable. The cottage was immaculate. I loved the fact the bedding was not down/feathered. It was nice waking up and being able to breathe. The breakfast was delicious. Carol and her staff were warm and inviting. We can not wait to come back soon.

The atmosphere and surroundings were nice. The owners and staff were great. The food was amazing! Especially the grits; however, we did have a few complaints about the grande suite we stayed in. The bathroom was kinda cramped and the king bed sunk in the middle leaving us with little sleep the night we stayed.

My husband surprised me and booked a room for the night for my birthday as we love to go up to Thomasville for dinner, drinks and shopping. He could not have picked a better place. Carol was the epitome of the best host and an amazing chef. Our breakfast was delectable! We cannot wait to come back!

We had an excellent stay for our anniversary weekend. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. The owner Carol was a delight and her breakfast was outstanding! Highly recommend.

Simply perfect! Amazing house with wonderful service. The house and cottage were pristine and beautifully decorated. Carol and Beverly were warm and welcoming. The experience exceeded my expectations. I will be back for sure!

this is a must stop if you come through Thomasville Georgia the Paxton not only has amazing architecture built in the early 1800s but is been very well restored and kept and by the same owner for the past 30 years, she and her husband run this Bed & Breakfast. She personally greeted me at 9 p.m., with a big southern smile, and the most amazing service! This would be a perfect fit for any romantic getaway, or just a simple business trip. Either way you can't go wrong with the Paxton, Enjoy!

I absolutely adore this house and all the details. Lovely is how I'd describe our stay at this charming, beautifully preserved bed and breakfast. The suites are so secluded, we felt like we were the only ones in the house. The staff was so pleasant and gracious hosts while we were in the common areas of the home. Breakfast was especially nice with a couple different options to choose from. Everything looked and tasted better served on their china. Don't expect blackout curtains found at hotels. Bring a sleep mask if you need it pitch black after sunrise. :)

The Paxton is the best place to stay in Thomasville, and the Grande Suite is the best room at the inn. The suite has a king bed with large fireplace. There is a second fireplace in the adjoining sitting room. Tastefully decorated. The host and staff are very sweet and helpful. Just a great place to recharge your batteries.

Wonderful experience at the paxton house. I absolutely love that most rooms are decorated in the old Victorian style. The house has been redone in ways that obviously preserve its historic feel. During my visit the whole house was rented out for friends and family for a wedding in thomasville. We really had complete run of the house and felt totally comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was always unique and satisfying, and the staff stays around for any late risers. There are a few friendly cats that live outside and will sit on your lap on the porch if you let them. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Not perfect. Lovely in so many ways - bedding breakfast, the decor, the staff, the house itself. However, it is an old house - bed was hard, some old wood smells, doors don't fit, some things are chipped or worn, parking is challenging.

Last minute accommodations turned into a fabulous respite. Slept like a queen and enjoyed breakfast fit for royalty. Sorry Cordele, Thomasville is my new stopover city and Paxton House the favored Inn.

It was the first time staying at a bed and breakfast for my husband and I. We stayed over a weekend in March 2017. We absolutely enjoyed our stay there. We stayed in the Hansell cottage which was so cute. I loved having our own little cottage and bathroom. The breakfast was delicious! They'll make your breakfast customized and serve it to you. The house was of course beautiful and the owners were so nice and welcoming. My parents saw how much we enjoyed it there that they are now going and staying at the Paxton this weekend for their anniversary. I can't wait to go back there myself.

I can't say enough great things about this charming B&B!!! Carol was the most gracious host and went above and beyond any B&B I have ever stayed at. The breakfast was beyond any five star restaurant I've ever been to! I highly recommend the incredible locally sourced cheese grits and farm fresh egg frittata. They were even kind enough to honor my son's request for m&m pancakes and made his stay that must more special. We stayed in the Garden Cottage and were more than impressed by its charming decor. The main house is beautiful and stays true to its plantation style exterior. We look forward to many more stays here. Thank you again Carol and Beverly!!

Just had one of the most exceptional experiences ever at the Paxton House this weekend. My daughter graduated from FSU and we decided to try staying outside of Tallahassee for a change instead of all the generic motels in the city. We've spent many trips in so called five star hotels and I can tell you we've never been treated better than this. I needed four rooms to accommodate our party so we booked the Garden Cottage. If you are in need, please don't hesitate. I promise you that the facility is first class and the staff is amazing. Our hostess was totally efficient in customer needs as well as her staff. The breakfasts that were included were not only five star but offered with great originality. Carol the owner and chef was absolutely on top of her game. I have never taken the time to write a review on Yelp before but it would be a crime not to let people know what a gem is sitting in this beautiful town.
