Came here for breakfast and it was great. They had the usual breakfast fair with we interesting mexican inspired meals. The service was fast and the staff were very kind. The interior decor definitely fits the old time feel and contains very antique style accessories and photographs. The cafe is a few minutes walk to a park and is located in a great neighbourhood.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very unique with memorabilia from what I assume the historic original location. However, the atmosphere could not make up for the worse service I have yet to encounter.
1. The restaurant was half full, but an order of 1 omelette and 2 cups of fresh fruits took 40mins.
2. We didn't get condiments or water until we practically finished our meal.
3. We tried to pay for the bill, but the server left a blank credit card machine on our table so we were stuck at our table for another 20min.
It is a real pity because I went in really wanting to like the restaurant, but I will not back.

A delicious breakfast always, we've been regulars at 1886 for years. We went with a large group of 25 people this weekend and the food was amazing as usual. Our servers were exceptional. I recommend Kenny's Special (with a side of sausage). So good!

One of the best Breakfast Places in Calgary Downtown. Menu is changed a little after moving into the Sheraton Hotel, but good food, good ambience and great staff 👍🏼👍🏼

The breakfast was delicious but the highlight was the service. Our server Negrecia was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly and attentive. Never had an empty water glass and made wonderful menu suggestions. 10/10 would recommend.
