The 1891 Steak house and Bistro

Don't go here. The place is smoking (no ventilators in the nearby kitchen it seems), we got plastic cups, and the wait was insane. I got mashed potatoes but instead got a baked potato style that was smashed and my daughter got my other half... the Can of Coke was also $2.99. The fries were also burnt which may explain the smoke. If you look around as well you will see most tables without food, we were not the only unsatisfied customers from the looks of it. The food was not worth the wait, sadly.

Excellent service!!! Ambiance was okay but located in an open area to the side of the hotel lobby. Food was "meh".....steak was large, but thin and grisly...like something you'd get at a cafeteria style buffet place.... not worth the price at all.... dessert was same...frozen, buffet style, not fresh. A new food supplier and this place would merit a visit.

The food and service are awesome. On a cold night, this place hit the spot to be at. This was a busy night, and I was able to have a table right away for the two of us. We ordered right away, and then it wasn't long dinner was there, our steaks were at the right or perfect temperature no fat or grisl. No steak sauce needed 😋 👌 totally delicious..

What a great steak dinner! I had the classic South Dakota State Plate dinner. The Chislic starter is a classic - and the peach kuchen with coffee the best way to end the evening.

The prime rib was excellent. The folks were having fun golfing at Willie B's. Looking forward to the video gambling this month. What fun this will be all under one roof.

Excellent Ribeye. The best I have had while visiting the west. Staff is very friendly. A quaint classic environment. I would recommend if you are ever near Hot Springs. So much to enjoy in the area also.

I had the chopped steak with mushrooms and caramelized onions, a baked potato and green beans. My wife had the breaded shrimp with a baked potato and green beans. We both had a very pleasant meal the food was very good and we enjoyed the staff and the atmosphere. We don't get to Hot Springs, SD very often but we know now where some good food can be found.

Great service with awesome food. I think the thing that is most confusing is it doesn't look like it is open. The ribeye is cooked in seasoned to perfection. The menu is reasonably priced.
