Yelp
This was my first time eating here & I can honestly say that the service was great! I was undecided on getting either a sandwich or a burrito. The cashier instantly recommended me to get a burrito and asked which one I was looking at. I told her I was looking to get the Lance Burkhart burrito and she said that was a great choice and recommended to put avocado in it, which was greatful to add on because it was amazing!!! Let's not forget the burrito dipping sauce they put on the side, which made it so much more flavorful! I can say it was 10/10 & I would come back to Cracked Eggery if I am back in the area, because I'm from Philadelphia! GO BIRDS!!!

Yelp
There's an abundance of food on the plate. I ordered the The loaded tots. Amazing amount of bacon eggs were delicious and the tots were great. Highly recommended service was good and the order was done accurately the place is quaint, but comfortable to sit in

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick breakfast before a morning meeting and found Cracked Eggery on Yelp. I'm so glad I gave it a try! The restaurant has a super cute, well-branded vibe. There's limited indoor seating available if you'd like to dine in, though they don't ask whether your order is for dine-in or takeout. Most guests while we were there seemed to be grabbing food to go, and the place stayed steadily busy the entire time. I ordered "The Mayor" sandwich with an orange juice and a side of garlic Parmesan truffle tots. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out, not bad at all. The tots reminded me of Burger King's hash-browns in terms of shape and texture, crispy and tasty. But the Parmesan and truffle gave them a twist. "The Mayor" is a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich served on a sweet challah bun with their signature "crack sauce" (I asked for it on the side). The sandwich was hearty and flavorful, the bun was soft and slightly sweet, the bacon was crispy and smoky, and the egg was fluffy. I didn't care for the crack sauce, but I did enjoy the white sauce that came with the tots. Overall, Cracked Eggery was a great choice.

Yelp
Cracked Eggery in DC's Shaw neighborhood totally delivered on every level. I went in with high expectations and left completely satisfied--and very full. I ordered The Stoney, which was a flavor bomb of scrambled eggs, cheddar, thick-cut chorizo, caramelized onions, and chipotle aioli on a soft brioche bun. Every bite was rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced. I also tried the Jeff Spicoli, which was a lighter and fresher option. Both burritos were clearly crafted with care and packed with flavor. But the real surprise hit? The garlic parm truffle tater tots. These things were next-level--crispy, golden, and absolutely drenched in garlicky, cheesy, truffle goodness. I couldn't stop eating them even after I was full. The vibe inside was casual and upbeat, and the staff was friendly and fast despite the steady crowd. Would recommend to order ahead as we waited 20+ minutes - but worth the wait!

Yelp
Something new. It was my very first time going to cracked eggery. I purchased the garlic pram tater tots. Also, the animal breakfast sandwich. Everything was fresh made to order. The breakfast sandwich was kind of disappointing. Because it was kind of dry, I wasn't expecting that i through a sauce came on the sandwich. It wasn't bad don't get me wrong everything was fresh the bun was soft the bacon was crispy the way i like it. The totes was ok I'll definitely go back to try something different. They also had on a menu burritos and breakfast bowls. I walked in the restaurant was very clean very spacious It was plenty of seating. The lady took my order as soon as I walked in the restaurant. She was very nice, professional I didn't have to wait very long for my food.

Yelp
phenomenal breakfast burrito called the Johnny Utah Burrito with Skirt Steak, Scrambled Egg, Pico de Gallo, Shredded Cheddar, Tots, Lime Crema Served with House-Made Queso & Tomatillo Salsa --- still piping hot by the time I brought this home to my apartment and satisfied all of my morning cravings

Yelp
Tried Cracked Eggery for a breakfast bite, and let's just say--I left more full of bread than satisfaction. I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese with their signature Cracked Sauce. What I got was a breakfast sandwich in disguise--basically stacked on a thick hamburger bun that overwhelmed everything else. The sausage patty? Paper-thin. The egg? Present but lost. That Cracked Sauce? Definitely an acquired taste--and sadly, I didn't acquire it. I also grabbed some tater tots (solid), a fried egg (fine), and bacon--which caught me off guard with how sweet it was. Not the savory crisp I was hoping for. Maple fans might be into it, but it wasn't my jam. To be fair, I think this is one of those "try it and see if it's your vibe" places. So far, it's not mine--but I'll give them one more chance. If the next bite doesn't hit, I'll chalk it up to a flavor profile that just isn't for me.

Yelp
Burrito was yummy but definitely a touch overpriced. I'm a Texas girl so have definitely had better but a good option in the area. Service was fast and super close to Howard!

Yelp
Amazing food!!!! Ordered the basic, the animal, cuagamonca bowl and garlic parm tots... absolutely amazing! Great portions. The coffee was not good. Ended up driving to a different coffee shop instead. Please reconsider your coffee selection. It's the only thing stopping me from calling this my favorite breakfast spot. Service and ambiance were great.

Yelp
Food was amazing. The customer service was on point (Leticia). I spent $22 for a half smoke, tots and a drink but I'd definitely

Yelp
Great choice for a quick, casual breakfast with a slight twist on the classic egg sandwich! Cracked Eggery's menu boasts more than ten egg sandwiches served on the softest, richest challah bread and with a variety of toppings ranging from fried green tomatoes and bacon to smoked salmon and cream cheese. If you're not in the mood for bread, they also have phenomenal bowls. I usually opt for their Bittersweet Symphony, which, as the name implies, balances out a slightly bitter bite from the arugula with hot honey and peach jam. They round out the dish with a generous helping of roasted butternut squash, quinoa, and creamy ricotta, as well as, of course, a perfectly fried egg. If I want a bit more greenery in my breakfast, I also love their Everyday I'm Brusselin', which includes roasted brussels sprouts, sweet potato, quinoa, arugula, and balsamic vinaigrette (think Sweetgreen Harvest Bowl but for breakfast). However, regardless of which sandwich or bowl you order, you have to get their tots -- they're smashed to maximize the surface area for a nice, crispy shell, and they pair beautifully with any seasoning you choose to pair them with. They have a few tables where you can enjoy your tots and sandwich / bowl, as well as a long row of barstools along the window. The service is speedy and friendly, and it's the perfect spot for either a quick dine-in breakfast or to-go meal.

Yelp
My son and I enjoyed breakfast here. He got the burrito and I got a bowl. The food is hearty and we both left very full and with some leftovers. The model is a simple fast food style model where you order from a limited menu and your food is ready quickly. I think most portions include two eggs and a lot of the items also come with hashbrowns. The service interaction was limited but of the little interaction there was, it was pleasant. The inside is a bit tight, like cafe and bar seating. It's a cute place to people watch if it's busy outside.

Yelp
Solid breakfast spot that's filling and relatively affordable. I got the Abe Forman and the old bay tater tots. Both were delicious. I added a little bit of hot sauce at home to my sandwich and it was perfect. Ordered through door dash so can't speak for the inside but they got my order right and the food was still warm went it arrived at my house.

Yelp
We were in town to handle so business and our flight landed early so we chose this spot for breakfast. Wanted a place close to our destination and this was a good option. When we walked in, we were a bit confused at first as Noone acknowledged us and we thought we'd have to order in a screen. Finally someone came to take our order and we each got a sandwich, no drinks. While there is some seating, it's not extensive and seems to be laid out more for quick eating and moving on which I don't have a problem with. What I had an issue with is that none of the tables had been wiped down so we had to clean off our tables ourselves. My son and I got the Major sandwich and my other son got something different. Sandwich was good and very hot and filling. The bacon on the sandwich was thick and well cooked with a hint of sweetness which rounded out the flavors nicely. My bottom bun was falling apart which made it hard to hold the sandwich. It's a busy spot with loads of delivery people constantly in and out picking up delivery orders. Great location for a quick bite on the way to work or if you live close by.

Yelp
Cracked Eggery is good but could be a bit more flavorful. I've been a few times. On my recent visit, I got the Green Eggs No Ham, which has scrambled eggs, tomatillo salsa, chives, and goat cheese. The sandwich looked great, with a golden bun and fillings peeking out the sides. There wasn't too much salsa inside, though, as some spilled out into the container. It tasted good, but needed a bit more flavor -- maybe more salt, or more salsa, or one extra ingredient. I had the same opinion on previous visits and with other sandwiches -- they look great, taste good, but just lack a little something. The Shaw location is pretty barebones, with a handful of seats. It's just counter service so nothing special.

Yelp
Cracked Eggery is one of my favorite breakfast spots in DC. It's nothing over the top. They have a variety of egg sandwiches, specialty tots (no fries), and a few breakfast bowls. I typically order the Inigo Montoya with bacon instead of chorizo or the Animal. For tots, the garlic parm truffle is my favorite. However, if you're not a garlic or Parmesan fan they have 5 other flavors. Again, very simple menu but they make everything so well. When I feel like going out for breakfast, this is usually one of the first spots that comes to mind.

Yelp
Haven't had a bad thing from this place! Have had St. Elmo's Fire twice, Loaded Tots, and breakfast burger, and The Abe Froman burger- sub with Chicken sausage. St Elmo's is my favorite and the Abe Froman is my husband's favorite!! Really good sauces! Only criticism is I wish my eggs on the bowls were over easy consistently. Sometimes it's over hard, I've only had one that was over easy. Maybe I should ask for it specifically. Not a huge space but usually has seating available if you wanna eat there!
google avatar

Yelp
Saint Elmos fries with avacado is a nice compliment to the Briggs style breakfast sausage egg and cheese.yumm

Yelp
Pick up was a breeze and the sandwich was huge! I enjoyed the Paulie Cicero and especially the garlic parmesan tots - those were delicious! Perfect hangover / comfort food

Yelp
Ordered this via Uber eats and let me tell, it was absolutely delicious even though it didn't come as fresh/warm! I can only imagine going to the actual location physically and having a bagel right then and there. My girl and I tried the southern charm, the animal, and garlic parm truffle tots. Everything was so good! I ordered the animal but actually liked the southern charm more. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast sandwich! I am looking forward to trying more of their items.

Yelp
I do not recommend this place at all. We had a big group order at my job this morning and I ordered the "Willie's Hash" with "no cheese". I checked the "no cheese" box option and they still gave me cheese. What's the point of not listening to an online order? I clearly couldn't and didn't enjoy my meal. I was already limited with what I could order because they only offer pork bacon which I don't eat. They do not offer turkey bacon which should be criminal tbh. Not only that, they do not give you the option of saying "no bacon" on their sandwiches nor do they have a "build your own" option. Personally, I prefer Uptown Cafe but hey.

Yelp
OVERALL: does the work when you're hungry but leaves you wanting more flavor FOOD: don't get me wrong, the sandwich was good, but I was expecting something more. Maybe more flavor. The egg itself was pretty bland and the bacon serving was limited. The bun was nicely toasted... SERVICE and VENUE: n/a this was delivery
google avatar

Laura H.

Yelp
This was a delivery order which came promptly. Loved the burger (I ordered a cracked burger) and the garlic parm tots. The burger was super yummy - just perfect. The tots were cold, but they revived well in my toaster oven. I would order delivery from them again.

Yelp
Quick, clean, awesome. I loved my sandwich. I had the Inigo Montoya and was very happy. Will go again soon. Thank you.

Yelp
Food was slamming. Came here Saturday and had to come back Sunday. The team is killing it the last two days. They are a well oiled machine. Jeff spicoli burrito 9/10 loved it. Also go the Green Eggs no Ham with Sausage 10/10. Staff here holds it down for it being so busy. Would love to see one of these in NYC where I'm from.

Yelp
We were headed to pick up a package on our way out of DC and searched Yelp for a breakfast spot and found this place. The parking is a total nightmare so be ready. The service was neither bad nor friendly. Just basic. We ordered two bowls the Korean one and the Buffalo chicken one, and one sandwich, The Animal! We ordered to go and ate it in the car because seating is very limited and it's not really giving the hang out vibe. Especially if it's busy. The Korean bowl was delicious and all the flavors complement one another, my daughter gave her bowl with the Buffalo chicken a 10 out of 10 and just said she wishes it was hotter, temperature wise. The animal was an 8 out of 10 . It's in a need of more sauce because with the thicker egg and hash brown it was a little dry and the egg wasn't seasoned. Or at least it didn't seem to be. Great spot, good food, if I was on foot or felt like Door Dashing an order I would go again. That is all!
google avatar

Gillian Dawson Y.

Yelp
Delicious brussel sprouts salad and salmon sandwich. Will go again easily. I just wish they had a more relaxing seating area to eat. The counter staff were very friendly but were still getting used to their touchpad ordering system.

Yelp
My go-to breakfast spot when I'm in DC. The service is always friendly and helpful. Quick and delicious. I'm always surprised that although it is busy, there's plenty of spaces where to sit and enjoy a quick morning bite. Looking forward to return!

Yelp
This is one of our go-to breakfast order spots at work. Our order for 4 people is always correct and ready on-time. The sandwiches are fresh and filling. We've tried a variety of them and none has disappointed. Southern Charm is my favorite so far. The tots are good too. The best we've tried is the garlic parm truffle. These tots are better than most and not overly oily.
google avatar

Thomas G.

Yelp
This was great quick, casual breakfast. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a quick meal-in or grab&go. I ordered the Soul Bowl, and while it was delicious, I found it to be a bit heavier than I anticipated and more of a lunch dish. The flavors were spot on though and the service was friendly.

Britney R.

Yelp
Had it last month and it was amazing, going back for more! The burrito was stuffed perfectly and the tots were seasoned well, my favorite was the cinnamon sugar tots.
google avatar

Christine Y.

Yelp
Great hearty breakfast egg sandwiches for DC-inflated price. A group of us checked out Cracked Eggery when it opened. At first, we were a little thrown off by the price- over $8 for a breakfast sandwich seemed a little pricey. However, the sandwiches were quality, the kind you would get at a brunch restaurant. Also, all the staff there were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back if I had the chance, but probably won't go there just to go get the sandwich.

Yelp
2nd time here and instead of trying the bowls, we tried the sandwiches. Very filling... so be prepared for a bit of grease but very tasty. Quick service at the counter and casual ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
YUMMY !!! Don't pass this place up this is a must try if your in the DC area! Very filling serving size you can honestly share one sandwich since there loaded! The ingredients tasted so fresh and everything was cooked just right. Whenever I am in the DC area I will definitely be having breakfast here again! I had a few custom request for my sandwiches and they were so nice and accommodating about everything. We got our food in less than 10 min, overall a great experience here that left me craving more. It's a small bright and open space quick grab and go ambiance with a few seating arrangements in the front to enjoy your breakfast.
google avatar

Whitney B.

Yelp
This is my first time at the 8th Street location and it's cute, with minimal seating. As always, the food is so so good!! It seems they may have expanded the menu a bit as well? Not sure. Not pictured -- but I also tried the French toast and it was amazing!! Service was spot on too, like always, Please bring a location to Richmond !!
google avatar

Jahaan T.

Yelp
I've ordered from here twice now through DoorDash since it's close to my job! If you need a FILLING breakfast without ordering a whole lot, this is the place for you!!! Natalie's OJ is a MUST every time!! It does have pulp but I'm a pulp lover so I order it every time. So refreshing. The first time I ordered The Animal. It is a sandwich with bacon, egg, cheese, sausage AND hash browns all in one! My only complaint was that either it didn't have enough of the 'cracked sauce' or that it was all on one side, so it came off a little dry. I was full almost halfway through. The second time, I ordered Mr. Briggs Stuff. This sandwich had a halfsmoke, egg, cheese, chopped onions, and mustard. Perfect (!!!) brunch combination. The halfsmoke was a good size and not too small. So cohesive and delicious. The buns are soft every time. Everything worth the few extra pounds I might've gained!
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
Came here for dinner because I had a hair cut at The Burrow and needed a place to wait - the place is clean, quiet and has seating for about 20 people. I ordered the Green Eggs, No Ham b/c I love goat cheese and I could definitely taste that. The bun looks like it was brushed with butter. There was some tomatillo salsa but I didn't really taste it - so wouldn't mind more of that.
google avatar

Shari D.

Yelp
I looooooove it here! My co-workers and I are here as often as we can be. There are a lot of options for breakfast, and the service is always stellar! They have a cute setup, allowing you to dine in if desired. My favorite dish by far is St. Elmo's Fire, it's the perfect blend of spicy, tasty and filling! I also love the fact that I can redeem points, which often times means I'm not paying the full price for my meals!
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
In my opinion, there aren't enough egg-centric fast-casual experiences and Cracked Eggery is among the top. I had the St. Elmo's Fire bowl, including fried egg, buffalo-flavored chicken tenders, blue cheese, cheese and tots (possibly more). Loved it. Will return. Located a few blocks from Howard University.
google avatar

Jerran N.

Yelp
Saw this place on TikTok and figured I'd give it a shot. Wait wasn't long. Food came out hot. While it may be for some it's just not for me. I can totally deal without the sauce as it is a little too sweet for me. The bread is amazing, along with the bacon but the sauce overshadows the sandwich for me. The same goes with the tots as the presentation is amazing but the egg and sauce mixed in don't do it for me. $40 bucks for two sandwiches, tots and drinks which isn't bad, just not for me.
google avatar

Monique J.

Yelp
Sandwich was really good everything just melted in my mouth. Only thing I had a slight problem with was there being too much bread.
google avatar

Shakira W.

Yelp
First of all, I love a sandwich lol This had a great portion of smoked salmon and the blend of flavors melted this altogether so perfectly. I devoured this sandwich. The service was super quick with a call-in and the ingredients tasted so fresh. I wanna try the half-smoked next time..
google avatar

Cornelius B.

Yelp
Ordered the Loaded Tots, it was very good. I suggest trying this place if you are in the DC area.

Yelp
Starting out as a food truck, this Shaw location is Cracked Eggery's second location in D.C. Specializing in egg sandwiches, they serve them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. After ordering takeout for a group of friends on a Friday in June, here's our experience: 1) Food: They have 14 different sandwiches most with fried egg on top, six bowls, 10 different tater tots, four items on the kids menu, a few sides and salads, drinks and Compass Coffee (they have a location next door so it makes sense). Each sandwich is really good, but if you like a sweet-savory combo, order the Southern Charm with a fried egg, pimento cheese, bacon, fried green tomatoes, arugula, and lemon aioli. My five-year-old daughter enjoyed the kid's egg and cheese, which comes with a small fruit cup and a hash brown. 2) Space: It's in a development full of restaurants and shops. With large windows, lots of natural light pours in, hitting the tables. Neon signs decorate the space, including one that reads "Shaw," honoring the neighborhood. 3) Service: It's friendly and you can tell the staff are proud of what they are making. 4) Ordering: For some reason, their online system didn't let us order ahead so we ordered when we were 15 minutes out. It was ready on time!
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Long line = good sign? Food was good, overpriced for eggs, but it's the city. We did have to wait a long time to get our food after ordering and also to find a table. But we did like our meals.
google avatar

KC W.

Yelp
My partner and I popped in here on a random whim for a quick brunch, and it turned out to be a great choice. The woman at the cashier was so friendly and welcoming as soon as we (and everyone else) walked in the door, and she was super patient as we read through the menu trying to make a decision. We decided on the Mayor and the Inigo Montoya, as well as garlic Parmesan truffle tots. The Mayor was like the quintessential American breakfast flavor profile, while the arugula in the Inigo Montoya made for a good "healthy" balance LOL. I really liked both, but honestly the Mayor might have been too much for me if I ate a whole one for myself. I wish the bun was just a little bit softer and fluffier, but otherwise no complaints. The tots were crispy and delicious too, with no flavor overpowering the others. We got lucky with parking but it's definitely not the easiest to find in this neighborhood. But after a good first experience (and my fav compass coffee next door), I'll definitely be back to try more sandwiches!

Yelp
Omgggg!! No really, OMGGGGGG!! Who ever thought that a breakfast sandwich could taste soooo amazing!! The Cracked Eggery has really stepped up the breakfast game and has completely redefined breakfast sandwiches! I was placed my order through Grubhub. Iselected the Southern Charm sandwich and the honey butter tots! The sandwich was so huge, I couldn't even finish it all. Not your normal bacon, egg and cheese, the Southern Charm comprised of a fat bun, topped with bacon, egg, arugula, pimento cheese and a lemon aioli! The flavors were indescribably amazing! Definitely not like any another breakfast sandwich that I've had before! The tater tots were also very good! I really wish I could have grabbed another sandwich to take back to Baltimore. I definitely wouldn't have survived the drive. I guess that means another trip to DC in the very near future!!
