Yelp
I came here in between a friend's ceremony and reception and wanted a nice cocktail with a bite to eat. The pictures online of the interior looked pretty fun, so we decided to come here for a late lunch. It was pretty empty on a Saturday at 3pm and we quickly were able to get seated. We got seated at a nice booth and I ordered a pepperoni pizza along with a cocktail. The pepperoni pizza was tasty and hit the spot! Cocktails were ordered and tasted good and strong. They also had a list of brunch cocktails to order from too (not sure if this is just a weekend option). Service was relatively smooth and fast, probably helped that there was only 1-2 other tables during the odd time we decided to pop in. I would definitely come back to enjoy the cocktails and ambiance and try some of the other food items on the menu!

Yelp
"It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen." What is Bright Side? Is it the sparkly vibey cocktail bar and restaurant it claims to be? Or a dark and loud sports bar with pulsing electronic music? Why not both? We made reservations for Saturday night and it was packed and crowded when we arrived. We were seated next to a column by the bar and it was very dark, could not read the menu, and extremely loud (conversations and music). We asked for the bone marrow croquettes but it was not available. Instead, we ordered the Tiger Prawns (calabrian chili & ramp salsa, preserved lemon broth, prawn chips). My companion said the prawns had a strong fishy flavor and I thought the texture was mushy. We also thought the prawn chips were an odd accompaniment. We told our server and she said she would tell the kitchen because it was a new dish and they wanted the feedback. I ordered the pancetta wrapped scallops (asparagus tartare, mirin & pea veloute, flying fish roe) which was overly salty. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and generally the dish was good, but a lighter hand with the salt was needed. I loved the fish roe, but because it was so dark, I didn't know it was part of my dish. My companion ordered Chicken Katsu (napa cabbage & broccoli slaw, szechuan cucumber salad, kimchi mayo, sesame, scallion) and after tasting their dish, I thought the roe was from theirs. The chicken was very crispy and its sides were flavorful. The crowd thinned out a little, the music toned down, and the atmosphere changed to more of a supper club. On our server's recommendation we tried the Carrot Avocado cake (fluffy carrot and avocado cake, vegan golden raisin buttercream, pistachios, vanilla-coconut turmeric glaze). This was pretty good -- not overly sweet and the plump raisins and crunch of pistachios were nice textures. The cake was soft and lightly spiced. So to look on the Bright Side: pretty setting, locally sourced ingredients, everything made from scratch, friendly staff. They also subtracted the prawn shrimp from the bill without us asking and thanked us for the feedback.

Yelp
My daughter had her birthday there today 02/24/24. She has 5 siblings and boyfriends/ Spouses. She brought a cake that she spent 75$ for. They also told her they a lot of vegan selections. They made her pay for a cake fee despite she brought the cake. They were all disappointed with the food which they didn't have vegan and prices were crazy. They didn't care they were having issues with food and instead of letting them sing happy birthday they took the cake and brought it out cut. They charged a cake fee! The 2 that eat vegan only had stop on the way home and get food to eat. They ruined everyone's day and the cake which cost Nina 75$ and no one got to see it or sing. No one was happy with the quality of the food they ordered. I would not plan on a great event going to the Bright Side! Serves vegetarian dishes days on the menu u

Yelp
Elegant brunch spot. Upscale hotel lounge feel with relaxed and eclectic appeal. Nearby parking, full bar complete with a curated, hand crafted cocktail list. I sipped a Bobby's Bloody that was slightly spicy and super salty. Garnished with an olive and lime wedge. Open and airy with no reservations as they seat a lot of people. We sat in a cozy booth right near the front window. Great people watching on W. 25th. Server was friendly and polite, talked to us about the menu and made recommendations. I loved the Crowaffle. Just a touch of sweetness from the waffle (-waffle) perfectly complimented the Leoncini ham and the Grand Cru cheese. Buttery croissant (Cro-) spread with luxurious Dijon mustard. Must try!!! You get a cool palmy resort type vibe as you enter. Big gorgeous bar. Lots of seating. Private reserve area and BONUS...dance club in the lower level (Bird of Paradise).

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick drink on a Friday. Heard great things about the cocktails... but this was by far the worst old fashioned I've ever had. I even asked them to make it a second time because I was sure they gave me the wrong drink. Overall the place is nicely decorated and clean, and the prices are just ok.

Yelp
We came for brunch on a Saturday with a reservation but it didn't seem like we needed one. There were folks dining in but there were still tons of tables open. It's a beautifully designed space. Really nice lighting, chairs, and even the ceiling! To start, I got a Bellini while my friend got an espresso martini. Delicious! We also shared latkes as our appetizer. They were well seasoned too! And large! For entrees, my friend got the French toast with sausage while I got the lobster eggs Benedict. Her French toast was basically bratwurst style...not at all what we expected based on the menu description. It was good, but the menu was misleading. My Benedict was absolutely BLAND! Disappointing :( I did like the fries and the portions for what you got were actually generous. I was full for hours! The staff is really nice and I liked the vibe of the restaurant. It would be a great place to get cocktails before dinner. Parking around here is parallel and a bit tough to find on a weekend. But we managed to park a few blocks away.

Yelp
Love the renovation of the old Bar Cento space... (I do feel nostalgic for Bar Cento!)... cocktails are top notch and the bartenders very knowledgeable and friendly. They're very into Mescal and they do a nice job with lot of different kinds. We haven't eaten here yet apart from the award-winning carbonara breakfast pizza (a holdover from Bar Cento for those who remember it)... atmosphere leans chic, fun place. We've been back a few times and will be going back in the future...

Yelp
My husband and I dined here recently with another couple. My husband thought his burger was decent. I thought my sunny-side pizza was mediocre. The highlight of the experience was the cocktails. I loved everyone's cocktails including my own. I loved mine so much, that I actually can't recall which I ordered . The atmosphere has a modern meets retro vibe. As stylish as it is, I think it lacks the warmth I typically like decor-wise. Our server was very sweet! I'd come back for cocktails in a heartbeat but prefer to venture elsewhere for food.

Yelp
Had dinner with friends here Saturday evening. Service was good, cocktails were great. I enjoyed the pizza but the beer salad was "odd" I guess I would say. The peppers weren't working with the amount of them versus the small amount of beets and smaller amount of cheese - the ratios were off and it was just an odd pairing. Wish it was better because I love me a good beet salad! The carrots with the yogurt and pomegranate were delicious - highly recommend! Love the vibe and decor in this restaurant and the bar is so huge so it's always a good spot to go with a group and know you'll be ok to get a spot. We will be back for cocktails or brunch in the summer months soon!

Yelp
Very friendly greeting. Ken our server extended the same. Atmosphere is very positive and upbeat. Their menu clearly marks Gluten Free and Vegan options. The French fries (pommes frites) come with ketchup, garlic aioli, curry aioli, and spicy chili aioli. Forget the ketchup these aioli's are amazing. The fries are fried in duck fat so no where near as greasy and apparently duck fat is healthier. I opted for the cauliflower crusted spicy chicken pizza. This has jalapeño basil chicken and pork sausage, sun dried tomatoes, garlic cream, basil, and perfect final topping is the Calabrian chili honey. We truly enjoyed our meal and will come back again and again.

Yelp
Made reservations for two for Easter Brunch. We were greeted upon arrival and seated promptly. We ordered drinks, albeit from our phones, I prefer a paper menu at brunch, to me brunch is about lingering and pursuing your menu. Needless to say we ordered, starting with the cinnamon roll, it was picture perfect, a tad too overcooked for my liking, but delicious nonetheless. Next up, the egg Benedict, swapped the bacon for avocado. The English muffin was house made, quite a bonus. My husband went for the crowaffle sandwich, a croissant waffle batter that was truly amazing. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Just my opinion, but the crowaffle, needs to be an option with the eggs Benedict, I think it would be s game changer. Great service, moderately priced and great for a group.

Yelp
Came for brunch, we loved the crowaffle sandwich and mushroom omelette, and of course the fries! The new renovations look great offering a bright and open concept toward the front of the place. Service was also great and fast. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews.

Yelp
Very awesome food! I loved the fresh fig pizza, and the bright side salad! I didn't like the drink I ordered, and my server was kind enough to get me a new one, but not before making fun of me for ordering a drink with Mezcal in it when I didn't like mezcal Everything else in it- rum, banana liqueur, guava, lime, mint, and jalapeño- sounded delicious!!! Maybe I'll order it next time with reposado instead of mezcal! He recommended a spicy margarita and I did love that. He was very nice and I do enjoy a good roasting! Some things that are out of the businesses control so won't affect the review: the ambiance inside is quite loud. We decided to eat on the patio, so while we were enjoying our meal, some super drunk guy was walking past and was bothering us asking questions. We did our best to ignore him, and a server did stop by to ask him if he was ok, and get him to move along. He did eventually leave and she came by again to ask us if we were ok. That was very thoughtful, and again, completely out of their control, just sharing because I probably would avoid a patio situation on W. 25th moving forward, so keep that in mind if you like avoiding interactions like that. I'd love to return, their brunch menu looks bomb so I look forward to trying it!

Yelp
This was SUCH an upgrade from the old space. The interior is absolutely stunning and perfectly decorated! It's large, bright, open and super inviting from the outside. The large bar in the middle makes getting a seat a little easier. The food is always delicious - the frites and apple salad are my favorites. I love a good cocktail and while they have a cocktail menu that looks good - they've always just fallen short in that area to me. My drinks were always just a little off - I stick to wine there now! The service has been spotty for me the times I've visited - from extremely slow to verging on rude.

Yelp
Bright side has incredible ambience and decor, with solid food! My friends and I shared a basket of the fries, calamari, and the chicken and sausage pizza. We enjoyed all of them, though none of them were particularly special or unique. We appreciated how the fries came with four different sauces, all of which were quite delicious. The service was good, they were on the slower end, as it took a while for food to come out. We also tried some of their cocktails, which were very yummy, and they switch them out seasonally.

Yelp
I experienced something very awful. A bartender below the dining area. Was extremely disrespectful and nasty, long dark hair and seemed like she didn't want to be there from the beginning. Would not recommend.

Yelp
This is a beautiful restaurant with an eclectic menu. The space is huge and super hip. Everything we ordered was tasty. The only complaint we had was that we gave the server our order together and asked him to course it, everything came together. Otherwise, delicious and well curated.

Yelp
My friends and I went on a Sunday morning for brunch and it was delicious. I got the bright side burger and it was juicy delicious. My favorite part was the bun - toasted to perfection. Very reasonable priced restaurant as well with fresh ingredients in all meal options.

Yelp
Came here Friday night for dinner around 0630PM and got seated easily without a reservation. They have a huge space with beautiful decor and is the renovated old bier market. Cocktails were unique and yummy but a tad expensive considering we felt that we tasted more flavoring than the liquor. We ordered one cocktail each and then drank wine after that. Personally loved their Rose - Chateau de Berne - 2018 Rose, Mediterranee, France. Food came super duper fast which was impressive, maybe too fast. Friends all thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Spicy chicken pizza had a crispy crust and wasn't that spicy at all actually for people who can't handle spice but I would've liked more spice personally. I wish the shrimp were a little bigger being "jumbo shrimp" being almost $4 a shrimp. Overall great experience and would return for more pizza and sides.

Yelp
The atmosphere, bar and decor is what I enjoyed most about Bright side. Service was also good. Came for brunch and had the scrambled eggs on toast with potatoes. Potatoes were nice and crunchy. Also at the table was the avocado salad that they said they enjoyed but just looked like a boring salad. I would like something more wow about the flavors. Would recommend alternative options/more options for brunch and not so pizza or salad heavy. Or maybe a special. I did not drink but my company did and enjoyed a belini and espresso martini. There is also a patio area with picnic tables, doesn't really fit the inside vibe may be better to go back to the old tables. I would come back and check out dinner, dinner options looked good.

Yelp
I love the interior changes that the owners of Brightside made! The open concept is really nice, and the back area of the restaurant is more lit and bright! We were expecting a wait, but were seated immediately on a Saturday evening. I'm so glad they kept the pizza on the menu! My friends and I split the Ramp Pizza, a pesto based sauce pizza with mushrooms and potatoes. The size of the pizza was perfect for 3 people to eat as an appetizer, 2 slices per person! The cheese was gooey and stringy and the pesto combo was amazing. I ordered the Grilled Pork Belly that came on top of barbecue black beans, chimichurri and crispy shallot. There were parts of the grilled pork belly where it was really salty, but the barbecue black beans were a bit sweet so it helped balance out the saltiness of the pork. My friends ordered the spring harvest pasta and the gnocchi. The pasta was just okay, with the noodles being way undercooked than al dente, and the gnocchi was mediocre also.

Yelp
What used to be Bar Cento is now Bright Side and what an improvement it is. The food is genuinely delicious, with plenty of vegetarian options. Ample seating so you don't have to wait an hour to sit down and the bar by the entrance is also phenomenal. The wait staff seemed a little overwhelmed by the crowd but our bartender did her best. Interestingly enough it seemed there was plenty of staff who were milling around but that's besides the point. The service we received was stellar so five stars as far as I go. The mixed drinks were had by others in my group and they seemed to like it and the prices were reasonable. We had the fries, the corn bread and couple of pizzas and everything disappeared just as quickly as they came. Probably one of the better pizzas in town I would add Wonderful new addition to the city. Highly recommend

Yelp
My partner and I came to Brightside on a Saturday night for dinner around 6pm and were able to secure a table easily without a reservation. They have a huge space, with many rooms, and very unique decor. The interior is very well designed, and it has a fresh, trendy look. We were seated in one of the back rooms with modern tables, but the front of the restaurant had a large bar and was very lively. Our room was a bit quieter, which we enjoyed. The service was fast. The waitress was nice and timely and the food came out really quickly. My biggest qualm with Brightside is the food. I got the Sunnyside pizza, while my partner got the The Bright Side Square Burger & Frites. The food definitely left something to be desired. The Sunnyside pizza was the better of the two, although it was bland. The egg was well done and did and to the flavor. The Bright Side Square Burger & Frites was small. My partner asked for medium rare but the meat was cooked at well done, and the sauce on the Burger was mediocre. Furthermore, the fries were supposed to be Rosemary Garlic fries, but they were just regular potato fries with leaves of rosemary and a clove of garlic stuffed in with the fries. There is a chance that we had not ordered the best items on the menu, but the food that we got was bland. Also, the prices are definitely not the cheapest, and just not worth it. We also did not get any cocktails, which seem like they would have been good. I think that this place would have been very nice for a quick stop-in for drinks, but not for a sit-down date night.

Yelp
Six people were behind the bar, no one asked if we needed another drink. But bartenders did laps around the bar not engaging with a single guest. We sat for over half an hour with out any one checking on us. Atmosphere is nice, staff is not polite or friendly. It seems as though none of them have worked in industry previously.

Yelp
Outstanding ! The reservation to the prompt attention to the mixology to the menu, it was all incredible. Sam has built another gem

Yelp
Came here with a smaller group. Only one person enjoyed his food while the other two dishes came out bland and overpriced for the flavor profile you get. Everyone seemed to like their drinks so I'd probably just come back for a cocktail

Yelp
Love the food, cocktails, team, ambiance The summer cocktail list is killer -- I most recently tried the Snappy Dresser & Crime of Passion -- and both are amaaazing food is always on point

Yelp
The atmosphere of Bright Side is awesome! It is open air and has plenty indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside at a very comfortable booth. We ordered cocktails and the 4 of us split everything we ordered. Our server was not the greatest. We asked her if there were any drinks specials. She said there were and to look at the QR code for them. A) not very helpful B) there were no drink specials. The cocktails were meh. The old fashioned just tasted like straight bourbon and the vodka tonic tasted like nothing. We then asked our server about the size of the delicious sounding pizzas. She said they were fairly large 8 piece pizzas. We ordered the sunny side. When it came out is was more of a personal size pizza good for 2 people, not 4- and only 6 pieces. We also ordered the pommes frites. They came out with 4 sauces. No one bothered to tell us what the sauces were :(. When we were halfway through the server came back so we were able to ask her. She said there is another one available if we'd like to try it- we said that would be great- and it never came out. We also ordered the crispy deviled eggs. They were good - but again the menu said for 4 when it really should said 4 pieces. I know the Bright Side is fairly new so I hope the server knowledge and cocktail mixing improves in time.

Yelp
Fun place on the west side to visit for dinner or a Fancy night out. I would recommend it for others to check out, but there were some things about our visit that I didn't care for. We were seated quickly but waited at least 15 minutes for a waiter/waitress to come see us. We attempted a few times to flag down passing servers and even the hostess but it seemed like everyone was avoiding eye contact with us to be honest. My sister had to get up and find someone and let them know we were waiting. It ended up being a miscommunication as to who had our table and our server was very apologetic and nice afterwards. The pizzas were delicious. We tried the pork belly and pommes frites which were good as well. However, the menu descriptions are a bit misleading. I expected them, based on the description, to be some Asian-fusion type of potato dish with gochujan. But it was just French fries with four different dipping sauces. That's not a complaint...more of an observation. When we got our bill, we asked for it to be spilt 3 ways and dessert to be spilt between two of the three of us. I understand splitting a bill can be complicated but the waitress said she could do it. But then she proceeded to charge incorrect amounts for each of us. I was charged way more than my two friends when they were the ones who asked to pay for dessert and who had more drinks on their bill than I. Very confusing. We paid quickly and left. Didn't make a fuss. But it was strange.

Yelp
Had a great time, the atmosphere and look of the place was very elegant. The appetizers and pasta we ordered were good but not great, my spring harvest pasta noodles should have been cooked a little longer. But the PIZZA was AMAZING pesto was awesome

Yelp

Yelp
Came here with a large party for a celebration! And our water was did everything to accommodate us! It is great they take reservations and have lots of Market Garden beer on tap. Neat patio if you want to sit outside too. The Pommes Frites are really good with 4 different sauces! They described all the sauces for us. I also got the Ramp pizza and added pepperoni. Overall the pizza was good, I wish it had more veggies on it. Also I like my crust a little more crunchy - it seemed doughy to me. But overall freaky flavorful!

William M.

Yelp
The food was so bad 7 out of the 9 in our group didn't eat their food. Waitress apologized, but no manager came to the table and no effort to correct the problem. The pizza was the worst. Dinner prices are very expensive for inedible food AND small portions. I ordered a burger, it was a premade patty that was supposed to be medium rare, it arrived after a long wait well done (likely precooked and reheated) and so salty I had one bite and gave up. Even the french fries were lousy.

Yelp
First time visiting was tonight. Atmosphere 3/5 Drinks 3/5 Food 1/5 Service 4/5 Service was great drinks were either way to strong or no alcohol at all. Food apps were ok, the calamari frozen at best super chewy way over cooked. Pork belly 5/5 all day. Ribeye steak 40$ in Cleveland should get you a great steak. We had 3 or 4 at are table all undercooked no sir wrong temps. Looked more like top sirloin than ribeye. Service was amazing but everything else would not make me come back. Overall rating would be a 2/5 for me if your looking for a place with a similar vibe Bartlby is a way better choice also 500 feet away.

Yelp
my favorite place for drinks. i love it. the music is always upbeat and it's never too busy. the bartenders are very tentative, i never have to wait too long for anything!

Yelp
We hosted our wedding rehearsal here for 28 guests and had the most wonderful time!! We even told the Ritz Carlton to recommend their future weddings to host events here. Prior to the event, Justin was very communicative. He made sure to have everything ready to go for us. He purchased decorations and was there to greet us upon arrival. He made sure we felt like we were treated like we were first class! I never went without a drink in my hand. We had purchased the buffet option with steak and fish. We also had the carrot cake for desert (see photo).HIGHLY recommend the carrot cake. Everyone was raving about it and the appetizers. We seriously couldn't have picked a better place. The space was huge and beautiful.

Yelp
We recently had our son's rehersal dinner at Bright Side. I felt so well taken care of. The event space was spotless. The food better than I imagined (for vegan, vegetarian too). . The atmosphere amazing and the staff curtious, efficient and welcoming. From the moment we entered we were greated by our first names and made to feel welcome. I highly recommend. **very cool lounge on the lower floor for after-party drinks and dancing

Yelp
I went a couple weeks after it opened. I thought the restaurant was overpriced and the food was underwhelming for the price. I enjoyed my glass of wine and the cornbread but I did not enjoy the pizza or the orchette pasta. The pizza was undercooked and seemed more homemade than wood fired
google avatar

Yelp
We were a large group and Katie took great care of us! Everyone's food was on point, the wait time was short and the prices were reasonable. Shoutout as well to the manager Miriam for giving our group one of the nicer tables in the place. A memorable stop during a great trip.

Yelp
Service was average, food came quickly but wasn't seasoned well, menu options were limited, very fun location for drinks but won't be back to dine.

Yelp
The restaurant is super cute and the food was wonderful. I got the tuna tartare and the house salad, both amazing. I gave it 4 stars because I have epilepsy and the setting is not visually accessible. They have 2 disco balls going at all times which do add the the vibe of the restaurant but are overbearing with the constant flickering of lights. It looks like they have seating in the back that doesn't have any disco balls, but if you have epilepsy, don't sit at the bar lol.

Lynn T.

Yelp
Design is beautiful. Good wine. "Rice and Roots" was a very filling, stick to the ribs, vegan dish. The pizza was ... awful. It honestly tasted like a frozen pizza. The sauce is way too sweet and overpoweringly herbal. The crust and cheese are tasteless. The dough may have been par baked. It's too bad because the pizza at Bar Cento was delicious.

Ryan ..

Yelp
Excellent food and a really cool new place in Ohio City. Great vibe and nice bar. Highly recommend. Try the burger or the crawaffle sandwich! Also really friendly bartenders.

Yelp
Bright Side has all the makings to be great with how cool the atmosphere is and its location but it falls short. I actually had dinner here about a year ago with a group of friends and had written it off because it was just meh. No one was wowed by their dishes and drinks were subpar. Since I live around the corner from here I decided to give it another try a couple months ago and was pleasantly surprised how different it compared to my first experience - so much so that I came back the very next day for drinks. I thought this place had fully turned around but alas, I went today with family for what was supposed to be a nice brunch get together and I regret making the reservation. To start, they had some type of duct/hvac issue which made all the tables vibrate. It was extremely unpleasant. This was the first red flag. Next, we wanted to order the dippy eggs but per the waitress, the dish didn't work out right for the chef so it's actually just eggs however you want them cooked and served with toast. The second red flag. For the food we got to order... it was all extremely disappointing. Never have I been actually offended by a dish... the French toast breakfast sandwich was nothing of the sort. The breakfast sausage was actually a spicy kielbasa link served in a burnt hot dog bun. According to the manager, it's their fun and funky take on the dish. I extremely disagree - this needs to be rethought or just taken off the menu. There was nothing French toast about it and also a hot dog is NOT a sandwich. To make it even worse it was served with cold shaved hard boiled eggs on the bun... truly bizarre and a rather unappealing plate of food. The rest of the food we ordered all had the same thing in common - basic and lacking flavor. Cinnamon rolls arrived cold.. Spicy chicken and Mushroom pizzas were just meh. The Crowaffle was prolly the best plate of food we received but again, underwhelming. The one positive, our waitress was attentive and sweet. I'm afraid I've officially written off Bright Side again, for good.

Yelp
Floored. I mean, floored. I had a roasted beet and pepper, apple and walnuts salad with just a dynamite dressing that was the singular best "new" salad I've had in years. And, this is coming from a guy who has been invested in great restaurants in LA. Fresh, crisp, light and completely refreshing. Had a terrific lamb belly bbq sandwich. "Chewy" was a great bartender/server/manager. Turned me on to an Ohio Gin - "four peels" and it was terrific. Hopefully, he will order some St Laurent him from Montreal so I at least can feel like I gave him value as well. Love my Cleveland sports teams, but now I have another reason to visit. Outstanding !

Yelp
I thought it was okay with a menu that didn't overwhelm. The highlight was my wife's grilled cheese and tomato soup. Really light bread that looks heavy. My pizza was a little soggy on the bottom and I thought it might have been more flavorful. There was a disturbance behind us that night that also made us leave earlier than we wanted. I might give it another try in the future.

Char L.

Yelp
Way too loud and really poor service. Server messed up my order said he could get it corrected quickly and it never came. Don't bother

Sherri S.

Yelp
Loved our brunch this morning! Lovely atmosphere. We ate inside but picnic tables outside also looked like a great option. Servers were outstanding: attentive without being overbearing; provided helpful suggestions on portion sizes, etc.; kind and upbeat. Food was DELICIOUS! My husband enjoyed the pepperoni pizza which was large enough that he brought half home. I had the avocado salad. Ingredients were fresh and dressing is the perfect complement. Our son had the berry crowaffle with a side of eggs and also gave his meal high marks. First time there but definitely not the last.

Yelp
Poor first impression. The place has been open over a month and has been advertising its hours for over two months - Sunday nights until 2:30am. Great, I thought, a late night spot just like the old Bar Cento. But when I arrived a little after 10pm, the door was locked. It's July and 10pm is right after dusk, the street was crowded, and the bar itself was at still at least half full of people. How inhospitable. The sign out front also says until 2:30am, and I watched at least half a dozen would-be customers try the door after me. I'm very familiar with the street, the neighborhood, the owner, and the chef, and am just disappointed to get off on the wrong foot with this new place. I would easily give them a pass if it weren't so egregiously more than FOUR HOURS earlier than their posted closing time. If they can't get it together enough to stay open until bar close, at least post temporary hours. Of course, out of fairness, I will give them another chance (if I can catch them when they're actually open during their posted hours!) and hope I'll have a great update for here.
