1969 Blue Sky Hotel

If I can I would give them 10 stars! Great location, spacious room, fantastic service! We initially only had 2 nights booked but due to some mishaps at our previous accommodation we had to book 1 more night and checked in late at night. We requested for all 3 nights to be of the same room and they manage to find 1 for us! So grateful for that. We were also unclear of the operating time for the HSR counter as we had an early booking, they went above and beyond to help check for the time. It was really a great favour as without that information we would’ve missed the train. They also had some tea at the lobby which were nice too! Totally would stay again if I visit Taichung!

It's a 600metres walk to railway train station so about 10mins walk over with luggage. Also able to take bus but with longer waiting time . Check-in counter staff was polite but forgotten about our extra blanket request due to room being cold (went in mid Jan winter). Room did not have heater so best to off air con but room was still cold for us need wear jacket to sleep . Otherwise the space we stayed in was spacious and had a separate shower and big bathtub to soak in. It is well connected to other points being in central Taichung with multiple bus stops within walking distance. Overall recommended to stay other than winter time.

5 star experience staying in this hotel. Probably helped that I booked a bigger, more premium room. Service staff are all helpful, friendly, and attentive. The room i booked is as good as what some 5 star boutique hotels offer Excellent location near the usual tourist spots and good eats. Pleasantly surprised by their birthday token, which they found out from my booking details. Will definitely stay there again.

Really nice hotel with massive beds and great service from the staff at the desk. Just massively let down by fellow guests as we were woken up 2/3 times in the night be super loud guests who seemed to be having a big gathering. Would be great to have a what's app group with front desk so you could report this while going in so that something could be done about it while its going on.

We had a wonderful stay here! It's a beautiful, cool and clean hotel right in the heart of Taichung. While we were staying, a typhoon hit Taiwan and it was very scary. The staff here helped by telling us what to expect, extended our stay and even helped us change the travel plans we had made. We're very lucky that we got to wait out the typhoon in such a comfortable hotel with fantastic staff!

It’s very difficult to blindly pick hotels based on photos. You really have to know which area you want to be in, how you want to walk, how close/convenient the attractions you want to visit are in relation to the hotel. Blue Sky punched all those items on my list and for the 2 days we stayed here I couldn’t have asked for much more. The only thing I’d caution is that this area isn’t a “happening” place and most restaurants close early. So if you eat early in order to start the next day early, this will work fine. I was traveling with a friend and we got 2 twins in the room which had ample space. Most of the TV content is in Mandarin so if you are looking for international channels to out yourself to sleep, there are not many. The bathroom was fairly recently updated so the water pressure, fixtures and overall look was great!

amazing hotel, really cute , and lovely staff. the shower is amazing ! the bed is so comfortable and the pillows also. close to the train and also just easy to walk through the city to any attractions.

Great location, walkable distance to many famous landmarks: Taichung Train Station, Miyahara store, Taichung City Hall. It is close to lots of good eateries, restaurants, and milk tea stores. At the corner, there is a bakery that we highly recommend; it has excellent sandwiches and is always crowded. The reception staff is very helpful. The reception area is welcoming with some snacks and a warm delicious date drink. We got Room 715. It is of decent size and has a balcony. Due to some mistakes from Expedia, we had some confusion about the room that was assigned to us. We are grateful that Steven at the reception desk worked hard with his manager Derek to resolve the issue. The hotel does not have breakfast. We appreciate having a Nespresso machine in the room. In addition, Nespresso capsules, snacks, and soft drinks are provided daily. There is no laundry facility. But across the street, there is a 24 hour self-service laundromat.
