1969 Blue Sky Hotel

This is such an affordable and nice hotel in the very heart of Taichung. You can take the public transportation next to the hotel and easily explore the city without own car. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, and QUIET!!! The staff is really nice and help whenever they are needed. I absolutely can recommend this stay if you visit Taichung! And yes, will be back

Very nice and very clean. We extremely liked the decor. We never saw any bugs or anything like that. Internet worked great. Staff was very friendly. Oh my gosh the shower was amazing. Very hot and very good water pressure.

We truly loved our stay here. They had delicious snacks in the pantry. The room was bright and clean and the staff were extremely friendly. Thank you to blue sky hotel for such a great stay for our first time in Taichung ! 🥰

A good value and comfortable hotel with a charming art deco style - we stayed at 1969 Blue Sky for 1 night and it was generally satisfactory. The room is comfortable and clean, and the bed is large. The location is okay, it does take a while to walk to some of the nearby night markets, or Taichung station, but it's not awful. There were some noise issues unfortunately, the rooms don't have great soundproofing, at some point in the night it sounded like someone upstairs was remodeling their room by moving all of their furniture. However it didn't end up being a major issue.

The staff’s service truly made us feel warm and welcomed throughout our stay. We booked two rooms. One was in perfect condition, but the other (Room 615) had some water damage—the floor appeared warped and uneven. The furniture layout in this room was also a bit awkward, especially the writing table and chair. Once someone was seated, there wasn’t enough space for others to walk past. That said, we really enjoyed our stay. The retro design is charming, the room was very spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable.

One of the better boutique style hotel I have stayed in, location is walking distance from Taichung train station. If you love coffee, there are a few very good ones less than 3 mins walk around the hotel location. Staff service was exceptional, will definitely be back to stay here again.

Hotel staff was very helpful. They assisted me with updated information on typhoon TD06 Danas about 2 weeks ago so we could managed in rescheduling our flight to avoid the typhoon. Truly appreciate hotel kind understanding and cooperation by accepting our latest night cancellation without any charge. Thank you very much.

Not the best location as it’s not super close to a train station but the bed was spacious and comfy! Not a lot of street noise but the sound proofing is only so so and sounds from the hallway were easily heard (not a huge deal as we are early risers on vacation). There’s a small breakfast spot and a bakery about 2 min walk and a coffee shop but Google said it doesn’t open until 11am which I feel like is a bit late. From the looks of the lobby they offer luggage storage. The lobby is pretty simple just with a few chairs for waiting. They offer complimentary umbrella loans near the front door. A no frills stay with pretty good value except the weekend day was about twice as much than the previous night! We did not really have any reason to interact with the staff but everyone seemed very friendly :)
