The 2 Cranes Inn is absolutely the type of place I regret not having experienced pre-COVID. I'm not sure I can properly laud 2 Cranes for all the things I appreciated about it (gathered in the span of a one-night stay, mind you), but here goes my attempt!
First off, I appreciate how seriously the hosts have taken COVID. While vaccines are being distributed and case numbers are declining, it's nice not having to feel defensive or concerned about hosts not taking cleanliness or other protocols seriously.
Moving on to the space - we stayed in the Desert Tortoise room and were blown away by how clean, lovingly decorated, thoughtfully stocked, and oh so cozy it was. The bathroom seems to be accessible (don't quote me on this) and I appreciated all their small efforts for conservation (shower gel pumps instead of single-use products, reminders about water conservation, etc). The door does open awkwardly, but nothing you can't get used to. With regard to noise, the Desert Tortoise room was on the first floor, so we did hear some of the other guests thumping up and down the stairs or talking in the common spaces, but it wasn't overly disruptive or interfere with sleep.
Last but not least, the common spaces were wonderful and seemed like they would've been great for chatting with other guests during non-COVID times. There are games, books, bikes available for borrowing, information on the parks, and so many more touches that show you how much love and effort the owners put into this space.
In case it's not obvious, I am absolutely enamoured with 2 Cranes Inn. The price point is an absolute steal for its amenities and proximity to Zion National Park. I would love to return once things are "back to normal" and highly, highly recommend booking here for your stay if it happens to be available.
