2 Gold St

2 Gold Street is the hidden gem of FiDi. The door staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and make us feel safe. The apartments are spacious with newer kitchens and appliances and plenty of cabinet space. The amenities are above and beyond with a 15 yrd (unconfirmed) indoor pool, spacious gym, dual pool tables, lounge, child play room, dual laundry rooms and outstanding rooftop garden. The amenities are rarely crowded and often make living in the city feel relaxing.

This building and the people within it express so much professionalism, cleanliness, and kindness! I'm an artist, and I "look the part". I dress very unique, and I have spent a lot of time in the Villages. So when I got off the subway and walked into the heart of FiDi for the first time... I admit, I felt a little intimidated seeing everyone in suits (or tourists). I was nervous going into the Two Gold complex. I thought to myself, "Oh gosh, they are going to take one look at me and this will be a very short visit..." I was proven wrong! I am SO happy I was proven wrong! Not only am I an artist, but I'm also disabled and part of the LGBTQ community. I've been looking for a new apartment for MONTHS now, and let me say... I was shown MORE compassion and empathy here in this FiDi building than I have anywhere that I've looked at and tried to get in the Villages. Being able to speak with leasing and the other workers at Two Gold did so much positive for me. Not only was staff amazing with speaking to me, but the building and apartments themselves were gorgeous. Utterly spotless everywhere. I was allowed to sit in the lounge downstairs and send an email when I was done touring, and just from people watching for a few minutes, everyone I saw walking in and out of that building were also very respectful. I wish more complexes would have Two Gold's "vibe", both physically and with the nice way people were in it. 5-stars, no question about it!

Pricey but worth it. Among if not the best luxury rental building in Financial District in terms of facilities, amenities, conditions and residential staff.

For the high rent I paid, I received small, old closets without shelves, unhelpful superintendents, and the icing on the cake - the building entrance serves as a public toilet for dogs. Not once have I seen the doormen instruct the residents not to do it there. The entrance constantly smells of urine, with urine everywhere; it's one of the most disgusting things I've experienced. In the morning, the residents take their dogs down and allow them to urinate directly in front of the entrance, not even bothering to cross the street. In the evening, they repeat this in the same spot.

If you care about your safety, your belongings and your life DO NOT live here. This used to be a great building to live in but not anymore. On Halloween there were a bunch of apartments that were robbed due to guests of a resident who was having a huge party during COVID no less. Residents called down to the lobby and nobody answered to help. Management didn't even let us know until 3 or 4 days later when they sent out a 3 sentence email that said keep your doors locked. Then there was a fire the other day and the only reason people knew was because of the Citizen App. Residents including myself tried to get downstairs but the elevators weren't working due to the fire. We called and called the Lobby and once again there was no answer. Aren't residents supposed to be alerted if there is a fire in the building? No alarm went off nothing. And yes there was an actual fire! There is no security in the building. There are hoards of people walking in and out of the building all day long and they are rarely stopped by the doormen which isn't necessarily their fault due to the high volume of people coming in and out and not enough staff. With so pandemic pricing and so many buildings to choose from you'd think management would do more to make their residents feel secure but they don't care. 2 Gold Residents collectively reached out to management with all of our grievances and nobody ever responded. They could care less. They are putting money into making the building nicer but not into security. Basically don't judge a book by it's cover. The building may look nice but what's going on inside isn't nice at all. It's a terrible feeling not to feel safe in your own home.

Do not rent the STUDIOS or 1 BEDS where you can see construction. Construction noise level is untenable -- starting at 630am until late depending on day. Will negatively impact your health. Lease has addendums mentioning this. Good luck if you still choose to move forward, I cannot wait to leave. This is on top of laundry machines being dirty and elevators barely working. More people would comment but are afraid of retribution from management.

2 Gold is the perfect starter building in new york. If you have a higher budget there are better buildings in the area that are newer, cleaner, and all around nicer (see 19 Dutch). 2 Gold is a really solid building if you have a more modest budget, are seeking comfort, a great location in FiDi and don’t really care about or use amenities. This massive apartment complex is composed of two towers (about 50 stories each) and is mostly populated by recent college grads and young professionals. The building staff is exceptional and responsive. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient, the leasing office staff responds quickly to issues and questions if you have any, and the maintenance crew is reliable to resolve any work orders placed over the portal. The building has decent amenities which were considered luxury in the early 2000’s. Common areas have an old/outdated feel to them because of their old carpets (which they are currently updating), outdated furnishings (which they are also slowly updating), a pool table that is falling apart, and a very outdated gym that is extremely small and crowded considering the number of residents that live in both towers and use it. The indoor pool does not look as nice as it sounds, there is no hot tub, no sauna, no steam room and to my knowledge no changing or locker rooms/showers. The other amenities include a laundry room (one per tower) which functions with the Hercules pre-paid cards/app and has only 4 large load washer and drier combos. The rest of the machines-are regular sizes which means you will have to run multiple machines simultaneously to get a large load of laundry done. There is a dry cleaner service inside the building. The building has a rooftop which is overflowing with crowds during summer months and does not have nearly enough seating options to accommodate its residents. Common indoor roof areas (solarium) which students tend to use to study, have been recently renovated with modern and more comfortable furniture as well and new carpeting and wallpapers that matches the renovations on the hallways in all floors. The lobby area has a mail room and front desk runs on a electronic package system. There is no amazon locker or self-serve mail pickup, nor are there fridges to keep online groceries fresh upon delivery. Moving into the building is a pain given the lack of alleyways to load/unload. Throughout peak months, the lobby and main entrance to the building is blocked by moving trucks and movers making the front door situation chaotic. There is only 1 service elevator which makes it even harder to coordinate moves. The elevators TAKE VERY LONG. Add 5-8 minutes to your commute to wait for the elevator in the mornings and evenings. The apartments are comfortable and feel spacious and most have balconies which is a plus. Living room windows are floor to ceiling, room windows are not. Light is good on the west-facing tower if you are higher than floor 30, some apartments on higher floors get glimpses of the river, the Penthouse units have double height ceilings and thus get great light. East tower faces directly into another building and light is poor throughout the day. The bathrooms are small but functional with built in cabinets for products, hidden mirror cabinets, tub/shower combo with glass doors and single faucet vanity. The kitchens are functional but small with very limited counter space. Microwave fans instead of hood vents which makes entire unit smoke easily when cooking. Sufficient kitchen cabinets for normal people, tight storage if you are a more serious home cook. Closet space is standard, no walking closets, no linen closet. AC and Heat units are standard and can be very loud. Note that this is not central air but rather large custom installed units. Not all units are allowed to flex, and those that are have height limits on flex walls. Unit walls are extremely thin, you will hear your upstairs and side neighbors often. Overall good experience at 2Gold keeping in mind I was only living here fri-sun.

Noise insulation is terrible in between units and to the outside doesn’t matter what floor you are on. The elevators are in constant state of disrepair. The laundry room washers and dryers are filthy, never cleaned. They don’t have parts to fix windows

Had a simple question for them and was received by the rudest person I have spoken with in ages. Not sure if it's bad corporate culture, but I won't be doing business with them.

I don't like to write negative reviews, but this experience made me really upset and I want to warn others (including future tenants) about this when considering to live at 2 Gold St. On November 1, while I was waiting for the elevator, an Asian delivery guy asked the lobby staff for directions. The White male staff at the time mumbled some directions and pointed to the elevators. Without much clarity as to which elevator to take, the delivery guy hesitated on his way and turned around to ask one more time. The staff looked at him and completely dismissed him, acting as if the delivery guy who never lived here before should know where to go to deliver food to his customer. Immediately, I caught on to this and told the delivery guy that I'll direct him to where he needed to be. At first, I thought this was just a rare case of poor customer service, without paying too much attention to the details. But later on, I think this was a case of discrimination, which is why I refer to the delivery guy as Asian. On that same day around 7pm, I helped a friend move items out of the apartment. With one of the moving carts, we headed down using the elevators. Immediately, the same White male staff gave us an attitude. First, he made fun of us for being unable to push the cart toward the doors. Second, he proceeded to give us an attitude while watching us move the cart. We ignored him and made our way outside the apartment to load into the car. The next trip down was even worse. The same White male proceeded to mock us and screamed at us for not taking the service elevator as we did not know that was necessary. We had always seen others move items on the cart using the regular elevators and since the first round down was fine, we continued to move the same way. By the time we were outside, he followed out and continued to yell at us. He informed us that he was the management while at the same time, calling management to threaten us. If he was management, why was he calling another party? We had a few more moving trips and to avoid the incredibly rude, discriminating White male staff, we used the service elevators after being screamed, yelled, and mocked at for just moving. How can a human being treat another so poorly is beyond my understanding. This White male staff was incredibly aggressive to us and overstepped the appropriate social boundaries to verbally abuse us. Why? Was it because my friend and I were also Asian? I don't know and that's unclear. Based on this encounter along with the Asian delivery guy, I believe we were being discriminated against. While I was in the lobby throughout the day, from what I observed, other non-Asian tenants were treated with respect by the same staff. Why were we targeted? Why was the delivery man targeted? What is clear is that that the White male staff does not deserve to work in a capacity where normal customer service is expected. It seems that he does not know how to fulfill such a role and it is beyond me that he continues to work at 2 Gold St. I hope this documented experience can help others decide if they want to live in a building with a staff as aggressive and discriminating as the White male staff we encountered on that day. Beware!

Our carbon monoxide alarm went off and it took several tries and an hour and a half to get the building to take us seriously enough to bring the carbon monoxide detector to our unit. We were told to "wait and see" (to see if we got carbon monoxide poisoning??) and that the best they could do was reset the alarm. After the maintenance person reset the alarm (an hour and a half after we first brought the issue to their attention), he seemed to become scared himself and then somehow a carbon monoxide detector was summoned -- even though we were told there was "no way for them to know" if there was carbon monoxide. It makes me feel extremely unsafe to not be taken seriously when I bring up something life threatening -- if there had been actual carbon monoxide our whole floor would have been in serious danger.

I'm a journeyman building service worker. Since the mid 80s I've worked in several NYC residential buildings as a doorman, concierge, elevator operator, porter, etc. It occurred to me working summer vacation relief man in a nice residential bldg would be a good way to replace the income I will soon be losing (i'm a sub teacher). I applied online to some property managers, and last week I got a call from a Mr. Baretto of TF Cornerstone. Mr. Baretto was impressed with my resume, which appeared to offer exactly what he was looking for: a presentable, well-spoken, well-experienced man who might be able to handle a super-challenging lobby. Most co-op apartment buildings on the Upper East Side will have anywhere from 25 to 100 apartment units. In 2003 I worked at a co-op with 25 duplex apartments and a penthouse. 535 Park Ave. had 2 lobby men - one at the door, the other in the elevator - for 16 hours a day taking care of those 25 apartments. 2 Gold Street also employs 2 men in the lobby for 16 hours a day--to service 839 apartment units! Last week Mr. Barreto made an appointment for me to meet with the resident bldg mgr, a competent looking fellow named Mr. Butta. Fortunately for me Mr. Butta was detained and did not show up till 11:10am. This gave me a chance to ask Daniel the concierge some questions. The 1st question I asked was why he was working alone in this ENORMOUS, 51 story complex. This bright and personable young man informed me that Cornerstone had recently gotten rid of one of the lobby jobs, so every morning between 4am and 12 noon ONE MAN takes care of all 839 apartments plus some well-traveled public areas, e.g., the roof and party rooms. I asked how long he had been there. "Less than 2 years." Never in my several decades of bldg service had I seen a man with less than 2 years experience working the coveted 8am - 4pm shift. That job was always done by the senior man on the staff. "Wow, that's amazing you got this shift so quickly!" I said. "I started in the package room, and recently started doing this job," he said smiling weakly. Later I had a chance to chat briefly with a bldg porter cleaning the lobby. He told me the staff had only recently been allowed to join NYC's bdlg service union, Local 32BJ. That and the ridiculous workload explained the quick turnover of lobby staff. Under the Union contract, guys like Daniel with under 2 years on the job are entitled to only 75% of the minimum wage. Daniel will have to survive a full 42 months before he is entitled to the $25 per hour minimum wage demanded by the Union contract. Lots of luck, union brother. At long last Mr. Butta arrived and looked me up and down, undoubtedly wondering how big a schmuck I had to be to be applying for a nightmare job like this at my age. We discussed briefly my past experience and then he brought up some of the unique challenges attendant working this over-priced monument to cynical, greedy NYC landlords. To his credit he frankly admitted the bldg was populated by a lot of young people with drug and alcohol problems and minimal respect for their neighbors. He asked me if I thought I could handle that sort of grief while giving out 500-1000 packages every evening, screening visitors, giving out keys and documents, announcing a 100-200 food deliveries, and numerous other tasks. "I think so," I said disingenuously, wondering if they would also need me to shove a broom up my ass so I could sweep the @#$%ing floor while I was doing everything else. Then Mr. Butta called over Daniel the concierge, whose many duties apparently included interviewing newcomers like me. We chatted about how intense things got in the lobby most evenings. I did my best to feign interest. Mercifully the interviews ended, and I left 2 Gold Street shaking my head in amazement. I smiled remembering that it was cutthroat, scumbag managing agents like these that caused me to go to college 20 years ago, not that that seems to have mattered that much. Anticipating that this would be a horrible bldg job if I took it, I sent Mr. Baretto an email early that morning, hours before meeting with Mr. Butta. I informed Mr. Baretto that because i am what the Union contract calls an "experienced man," and as this was an open position and not a summer relief job, I would be entitled to begin work at 100% of the minimum wage. I never heard from Mr. Baretto or Mr. Butta again. You stand warned.

Abusive, Racist & Ageist Management On November 1, 2020, the building/reception manager (white male in late 40s-mid 50s, always in black blazer) verbally and racially assaulted me and my friend. Around 7pm my friend was helping me move out from the building when the said manager yelled at us out of nowhere for using the non-revolving door labelled "out of service" when it was clearly functional. We explained that we couldn't fit our stuff through the revolving doors, hoping he would understand but he just continued yelling at us. We tried our best to ignore him but on our second trip to the lobby he taunted us when we struggled slightly to move our stuff and mockingly held the "out-of-service" door for us, thinking it was some kind of heroic act. He then inappropriately followed us to our car parked right in front of the building and screamed at us to read the "out-of-service" note on the door. I immediately called him out for being unnecessarily rude and told him to leave us alone. That unfortunately aggravated him to continue verbally assaulting and swearing at us, and to escalate the situation further, he called "the management" in front of us calling us "kids making trouble" and threatening that he would "level up". Another employee came out to talk to us but instead of trying to understand what we had to say, he merely told us that the manager was "part of the management too". The reason I believed this was racially motivated to some extent was because I witnessed just moments before the incident that the manager was similarly aggressive to an Asian delivery man who was unsure about which elevator to use. He was otherwise nice to other people and would greet most of them when they passed through the lobby. My friend posted a Google review days after the event but it was silently removed some months ago. I'm re-sharing this experience to publicly call out the extremely inappropriate and abusive manager and you bet I will not give up until necessary actions are taken against him.

A very unsafe building to live. There were a slew of robberies on Halloween because someone threw a large Halloween party (even though it's not allowed during Covid times) and their guests broke in robbed several apartments. Some residents were at home and harrassed by the robbers when their apartments were broken into. Doormen did nothing and management has not responded to these happenings

Do not live in this building. Management is absolutely horrid, unresponsive, and rude. I have had people try to break into my apartment, neighbors blasting music so loud that my walls shake, and cigarettes tossed onto my balcony countless times in the 12 months I've lived here. This building is unsafe, and an absolute waste of your money. Literally go anywhere else.

As many of the other reviews will attest, the building and management company have a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde feeling. When I first saw the apartment and the building, I was impressed. The common areas are well maintained, the staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful, and maintenance was pretty responsive. They even allowed my dog, a Polish Lowland Sheepdog. The gym is quite impressive as well. The dog community in the building is pretty good (there is a dog park a few blocks away - Wall Street and South Street) and I have made a number of very good friends and had puppy play dates in the hallways (long and great for running). I was living in the building for almost a year when Mr. Hyde appeared in the form of TF Cornerstone, the management company. I had just signed a lease renewal at a negotiated rent and was ready to enjoy another year. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond my control necessitated that I move to Boston. I made arrangements with my work and contacted management. The renewed lease was set to begin on September 1 and I received word in Mid-July, two weeks after I signed the paperwork. I was told that the paperwork had already been processed and I was locked in. However, I could submit paperwork to assign the lease, as long as the new tenant submitted an application and I paid a $1000 lease assignment fee. Management informed me that they would not list the apartment and advised me to find a realtor to show the unit. I immediately hired a realtor, and thus began a very frustrating experience. In November, after a number of months, during which time I was paying two rents, the realtor called to tell me that he had secured a tenant. She was willing to pay all fees and take on the lease as an assignment for the total of my rent. The next day, the realtor called again - TF Cornerstone had poached the tenant. When she arrived at the leasing office to submit the paperwork for my unit, management offered her a vacant unit for a better price with one month's free rent included. This cons the realtor his commission and kept me on the hook for additional rent. Besides being highly unethical, this behavior is of questionable legality. Thankfully, the realtor had another tenant, but for a lower rent. Because my choices were to say no and keep paying rent, or pay the new tenant one month's rent (effectively) at the end of November, the choice was clear. So, in conclusion, TF Cornerstone isn't bad, as long as you don't expect anything of them, except that, given the opportunity, they will attempt to make as much money off of you as possible.

I almost want to give 2 Gold a bad review in order to keep people from moving in and making the rents go up, but I can't. The building is gorgeous and fabulously maintained. Doormen are friendly and helpful, maintenance is quick and thorough, and almost anything you need, from dry cleaning to package pick up, can be done right in the lobby. Not to mention, the gym, pool, and roof are great and there's a solarium. I never knew how much I wanted a solarium until I got one. We initially had some major issues with the leasing office giving us wrong information and making us come in multiple times (during our working hours) to sign things they had forgotten about, which was incredibly frustrating. Once you jump through those hoops though, 2 Gold is great.

Lived here from 2009 - 2011. Overall good place to live. Yes someone was shot, but actually never felt unsafe, and that was apparently drug deal gone bad. Yes there is a younger crowd here, but definitely not complete dorm feel, at least on my floor. I had 3 roommates in a 4 bedroom apt, and we were all working and 3-4 years out of college. Pros: Pool is great and kept clean, gym is big not just a single treadmill, roof deck is huge and fun, roof inside deck is great too for winter, multiple doormen, very new building, feels like hotel in a clean/good way. No mice or roaches. Maintenance comes quickly to fix plumbing issues. Close to 1,2,3,4,5,6, so easy to get to midtown for work. Cons: Management company sucks, always try to raise rent and get more money. Lost our checks twice in the mail and tried to blame us. Crazy hassle to get into the building and approved, but worth it in the end. I loved living here overall.

I lived at 2 gold from June 2011-June 2014. After moving out we got our whole deposit back (plus tiny interest) in about 3 weeks. No nickel&dime bs cleaning fee, etc! Front desk staff are great. Maintenance is responsive- when I needed my room AC changed, they replaced it within the day. When we had a toilet leaking problem, again fixed immediately. View from the roof is nice. Gym is better than most. Rent increases were reasonable and we had some success with negotiations there. Negatives are: Elevators can be very slow at busy times and often one of the three is broken. Gym equipment is slow to be repaired and the gym is sometimes crowded, but not too bad. Bike room in basement is accessible via service elevator, but that is not always available for tenant use. So I had to carry my bike up the stairs more than once. Sandy hit 2 Gold hard, and TFCornerstone got a lot of criticism, but I think much of that was exaggerated.

I've lived in 2 Gold since April 2015, and I can say with 100% certainty that I LOVE it here. My boyfriend and I wanted to move to the Financial District for 2 reasons: 1. to be closer to work/shorter commute and 2. We heard you could get really good deals on luxury buildings in this area. We were coming from the UES, which is considerably more expensive for a doorman building. 2 Gold was one of the more affordable buildings in this area, yet it is arguably the nicest. We're obsessed with the furnished rooftop (that view!), spacious 1 bedroom (by NYC standards) and fitness center. Additionally, the staff here is extremely friendly and helpful (shoutout to Dave!) As for the area, it's going through a transition after 911 & Hurricane Sandy- there is some construction. It's not as "dead" as everyone says it is, and it's only a short walk or train ride to LES, SoHo, and Meatpacking. You're right on the water, which is great in the summer if you like going for walks or runs. I also LOVE the Seaport in the summer- if you're a foodie you will die! One thing that made me nervous is that there are A LOT of Pace students here. I was worried that they would be obnoxious and treat this building like a dorm, but I haven't had a problem with noise or anything of that nature. There actually seems to be a mix of students, young couples/ families, and singles here. I would say the average age of the tenants is in the 25-35 range. My only complaint would be that it is a bit pricey... but if you make use of all the amenities, it's worth it.

Pros: Beautiful building! Floor-to-ceiling windows in every unit. Modern amenities. Pool! Maintenance is fast. Amazing rooftop on the 50-something floor. Cons: Can feel like you are living in a college dorm. Average tenant is just out of college. Rooftop feels like a nightclub on the weekends. Doormen were not attentive when I lived there in 2010, but it looks like it might have improved. Sometimes there is a line to get in the building. Lived here for just about 2 years now and agree with many other recent reviews. The way management handled covid for existing residents was appalling. I understand that they are also struggling; however, I have many friends in luxury buildings similar to this that were given upwards of $500 off their lease. I was simply told to "take advantage of the government stimulus being offered". Recently, we were sent our new lease to resign and when asked why we were not resigning we were shocked they could ask this. Not only did they do nothing for us, but our new rent actually increased! There are 1 bedrooms going for 1k less than what we currently pay! Just seems silly that they wouldn't offer the same discount to existing tenants. They are now going to get less in rent, have to flip the apartment, and show it to interested renters. Just seems silly to not make any accommodation for people that have lived there for 2 years.

Lived here for about 6 months prior to writing this review, and already the management company has shown its true colors. First, a building employee stole ("lost") a package containing an iPhone 5s when they first came out. They convinced me not to file a police report by promising to reimburse me for the $300 or so that we paid, but of course we never saw a dime. Luckily we were able to get Verizon to sell us a replacement phone at the upgrade price of $300 or we would have been out a cool $650. Still a terrible experience. Then, the crowning jewel- we pay an extra $100 per month for a balcony. We moved in during the late fall so even though we used it, it was always pretty cold so we only stayed out as long as we had to. We were very much looking forward to the spring and summer when it would be pleasant to be on the balcony and enjoying the view. However, we received a notice on a Friday that all belongings had to be removed by the following Wednesday for a 5 month long facade repair that will last until the end of August (!!!). To add insult to injury, we will still have to keep paying the extra $100 per month for the balcony even though we won't get to use it. We are annoyed, but the tenants on floors 19 and below have it even worse- their windows will be covered in netting all spring and summer. Lastly, the other reviews are right- this building is full of annoying college kids who stuff their apartments with tenants and make lots of noise on Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights. There is also a very distinct marijuana smell on the weekends. I will give credit where it is due- the pool is very nice and well maintained, and the gym is nice as long as you go at a reasonable time. The roof deck is nice but it will be closed for 5 months during the nicest weather so it's just for show.

pros: Cool, young, attractive people in NYC and amazing rooftop. cons: Leasing office consits only of certified mentally challenged employees. Managers are rude and should be fired.

Loved living at 2 Gold Street! I just moved from 2 Gold recently to try and cut down monthly costs, as that area is getting pretty pricey! It is unfortunate that in a "rent controlled" building the rent still seems to rise a lot each year. But I had such an amazing experience there I felt the need to give them a review! After being in New York a few years, you will see what you can get for your money, and it's not much. AC and an elevator is a premium. Convenience to a subway, front desk to accept your packages, a nice gym, amazing rooftop, and lap pool - well that's pretty fantastic! The staff was always courteous, helpful, and professional. The maintenance team is very quick and responsive. The building is very well maintained. I would hands down live there again if I could afford it. Paying a little more for the conveniences offered there is so worth it. And the area is fantastic! Financial district keeps getting better and better. You are right by the water and away from all the craziness. Very convenient to several trains, downtown restaurants, the Wall St. Ferry to Brooklyn. And you can't beat the view from 2 Gold! Better than any rooftop bar in the city! Oh, and did I mention they have an indoor portion of the roof, so if you want to escape from your roommates, have guests over, have your morning coffee, or get work done next to a fireplace on a nice couch with a view, you can! I would highly recommend living here!

2 Gold has a great location, beautiful roof deck, courteous doormen, and relatively modern floor-to-ceiling glass units. Having said all of that, I would never recommend anyone live in this building. The leasing office staff is courteous and helpful through the application process, and then the experience changes dramatically when the contract is inked. It is a challenge to access the management company and when you do manage to reach someone, it is exceedingly difficult to find anyone with the authority to discuss your matter. We needed to move to a different state midway through our lease period and TFCornerstone did everything in their power to make it as difficult and costly as possible.

Been here 8+ months now and I love it. Great 20's-30's crowd that can get rowdy (but they are harmless). Amenities are great, staff is great definitely happy w/my choice to move here

We stayed in TF cornerstone for a total of 1.5 years. Without a doubt, this was the most hassle free experience we have had. The concierge staff is very friendly and always willing to help out. They keep packages for you and you are informed automatically when package is delivered. It is a great peace of mind. In the summers, the rooftops are a great place to just sit and relax. The pool and gym are clean and well maintained which is commendable considering the volume of people using the facilities The maintenance staff is very hardworking and they make repairs within a few hours. When we moved out, we got our entire deposit back within 15 days - no hassle - no cheap money cutting. I could not have had a better experience

The building is impressive. The manager Michael should be fired for being a horrible manager but other than that all other staff in the building are down to earth and friendly...

I have lived in the 2 Gold building for almost 3 years, the first year and a half was a hoot, after that, it just went downhill. Leasing office is operated by a bunch of idiots, yes, but once you get past the exhausting application process, you get to enjoy your nice yet pricey apartment. The bathroom can get really disgusting because of the white walls and hideous designs(just saying). My major issue was with the management people. They really try to rip you off by overcharging you on EVERYTHING. When I first moved in here in 2012, after Sandy, they mailed you your monthly rent bill, and you can either pay by check or register and pay online, I always prefer paying by check just so things are more secured(old fashion me). Then a year later, they decided not to mail you your bills anymore, without saying a word, and they did it during the Christmas season so I just assumed that it was all the holiday delivery traffic, I was almost a month late on my rent, but luckily they waived the late fees which was about 200 dollars (yikes). And then the leasing office told me that I can keep sending checks to them and they will deliver the checks to management people, so I was like okay, great, easier for me! So I kept doing the same thing for a year, and today, May 31st, I went to give them my rent check, and was told: "oh yeah, we are not accepting those checks anymore." AGAIN, WITH NO PRIOR NOTIFICATIONS AT ALL. Now I'm gonna email the management people to get my account information in order to register, and probably get charged for being late on the rent(yay!) Not to mention their apartment renewal prices are extremely unfair. I renewed my lease twice, and after my second lease renewal, they increased my rent by almost 200 dollars which is insane because it is a rent stabilized building, good thing I negotiated with them and they gave me a better offer. And in the winter of 2014 I saw an availability opens up, it is the exact same unit that I'm renting, SEVEN stories higher, and paying the EXACT same price as I was paying back then. So a couple months later, my second lease renewal arrived, I saw another 35 dollar increase to my apartment, I talked to the management people, and she told me that my information is wrong that the people living 7 stories higher is not paying the same amount of money I was. I was just like: ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU CAN LIE ABOUT PUBLIC INFORMATION????????? To avoid all the shit, find yourself a nice building with NICER management people, there are plenty in the neighborhood, 200 water, 100 john, 99 john and so many more. 2 Gold is just not worth the hassle.

I want to start by saying that I'm not a natural complainer. It goes against my instincts to even write reviews; however the utter recklessness with which this building is managed is shocking. The front desk: excellent. Those guys keep things running. The apartments: generally great with sweet views. The property management is shameful; however. I'm convinced that they recruit from the bottom rung of the worst colleges in America and that they do it purposefully. I have no idea what type of training they receive prior to embarking on a career of rudeness, but it MUST consist of very little. If I could sue them based purely on maintaining a complete lack of humanity, I would. Suffice to say that if there are no problems during you time there, you'll be fine. If anything goes wrong..you're on your own. I would not move here if given the chance again and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Slum lords for rich people. It's that bad.

2 Gold St. Building is kept up pretty well and most of the doormen are really friendly and helpful. However, the majority of tenants are young and not real mature. Anyone who works in their main office tends to be extremely rude and seems to strong arm people. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? It never surprises me to see so many moving vans at the end of every month. The turn over rate is ridiculous!! Even though it is a rent stabilized building, because of a tax abatement, TF Cornerstone seems to think it can do as it pleases. Would definitely not recommend, there are plenty of other buildings in NY that are just as nice and probably less expensive.
