2060 The Newton Hostel

Located in Lavapies not far from the main attractions in city center and at walking distance to Atocha train station, it has a rooftop with a bar - it closes at night though and another cafeteria-like social area with a good kitchen by the lobby. As a large hostel it tends to have groups of first-time travellers but it is still possible to socialize; they promote games, walking tours, pub crawlings etc Beds are perfect, capsule style with curtains and air conditioner on all day long.

I had an amazing stay here! The staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to help with local recommendations. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, which is always my top priority in a hostel. Beyond the cleanliness, the atmosphere was fantastic—it was so easy to meet people in the common areas without it being overly noisy at night. Definitely my go-to spot next time I’m in town!

This youth hostel is really centrally located - a fifteen minute walk away from all the major tourist attractions, particularly the museums and El Retiro parc to the east and the old town, royal palace and cathedral to the west. |The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfortable. The hostel was quiet at night - no problem with noise from the street or other residents.|Cleaning staff are constantly at work to keep all areas of the hostel clean. |The communal kitchen is well equipped and surprisingly clean given all the people who use it. Access to a huge fridge is really practical, as is the dining area. |There's a nice relaxed atmosphere in the dining/lounge and roof top areas which favours meeting other travellers. |The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the hostel organises various outings and visits, e.g. free visits of old town and new town, pub crawl, tapas evening, street art tour (which I did) and flamenco evening....|I would highly recommend this youth hostel.

Great hostel, the rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. You can rent a towel for 3 euros which was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint would be the shower because you had to push the button every few seconds to keep the water running which was kind of annoying, but the bathroom was clean. 10 minute walk from the center of Madrid / Plaza Mayor.

Great location, very safe and fairly quiet. They host various events each day that are very well run with knowledgeable guides. Additionally they have free coffee and churros in the morning which is a nice addition. Highly recommend the private room!

Location was amazing, like a 5 min walk to the center of old town, rooms were nice and clean, and all the services were amazing. Bathrooms were clean, kitchen was available for food prep etc. I definitely recommend for a stay in Madrid. Stowed my luggage while out for the day, even after I had checked out. An awesome Hostel experience

Great Hostels are made by great staff. The staff here are super helpful and help with a smile. The rooms are great. The shared spaces. Plus for the younger crowd looking for nighttime activities they have you covered. Would stay here again and again

Hostel is pretty sweet and lenient enough to allow meeting people and creating new connections. The establishment is clean and beds are comfy and privative. Also, they offer nice activities as well as free churros and coffee in the morning. At night, you can enjoy a nice pint of Mahou on their rooftop. On top of it all, the staff is super welcoming and gives you a helping hand when needed. Being centrally located, it offers great walking accessibility to the cool neighborhoods of Madrid. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and will be back in the near future!
