The 7 Best Hostels in Madrid (Updated 2025)

"Named after Isaac Newton’s prediction that the world would end in 2060, the entire hostel is covered in quotes and colorful artwork around that concept. I loved the rooftop terrace, but the real highlight for me was the spa and sauna (available for an extra fee and well worth it). There’s no breakfast buffet or on-site restaurant, but they offer free coffee and churros every morning and a fully equipped kitchen; the staff organize many social activities (walking and bike tours, pub crawls, group dinners, sangria nights) and you can rent bikes from the hostel. The beds are really comfy with curtains, thick mattresses, individual reading lights, and sockets." - Matthew Kepnes

The hostel is super cute, could be a little bit cheaper but it's good value for money. Even though the rooms are big, there is privacy, the beds are comfy, the showers are hot and clean, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The location is amazing (not in the main center but pretty close by foot, and close to the subway). They are doing lots of tours and parties in the hostel, the roof top is nice too! If you are a solo travelers, I would really recommend:)

I enjoyed staying at this hostel. The main reason I booked this place over others was for the beds with curtains on them, for extra privacy. It’s a relatively social hostel with activities like walking tours and pub crawl. I personally wouldn’t recommend the pub crawl, but check out the other things and find a group of people to check out bars yourself! As a solo female I felt safe. There was one sleezy guy in the hostel who wasn’t asked to leave sadly. But other than that, it was pretty good! Everyone was friendly and I enjoyed my stay. The kitchen is pretty small but has plenty of amenities. There isn’t much chilling space so wouldn’t recommend booking if you need to work or have lots of downtime. The rooftop was a massive highlight and is pretty quiet during the day and busy at night with the in house bar. Great location! Everything within a 20 minute walk.

I quite enjoyed my stay in this hostel, it’s very nice that they have bikes to rent and the accommodations were modern and comfortable. they have a really nice roof deck seating area with a bar which has some amazing views of the southern part of the city. during my first day here I was on the first floor, which I had absolutely no issues with, my room was very comfortable and quiet. during my second day, I was unfortunate enough to be put in the single room they have on the ground floor, which is definitely the worst room in the hostel. you will be woken up all night by drunk tourists, coming back and waiting for the elevator very loudly. If getting a full night’s rest is important to you, ask them to stay in a different room than 001. Also it’s good to know that they don’t rent bikes at night, only during the day. overall, I had a really nice time staying at this hostel and I would probably return again in the future.

I had a really good experience at this hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The common areas had a great vibe and made it easy to meet other travelers. Location was perfect — close to public transportation, restaurants, and major sights. Would definitely stay here again!

I loved staying here, and will be returning soon. I moved to this hostel after a rough night somewhere else, and it saved me. The good A\C in the middle of a blazing hot August was AMAZING. The beds afforded great privacy, the rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the activities were so great for getting to know people. The location is just off the main beat, so quiet at night :)

I LOVE this hostel. I've stayed here twice and it's super clean, comfortable and cheap comparing other places to stay in Madrid. Super central and I love the certains on the beds. I would add a more work-friendly space, but other than that, I would recommend this to anyone solo traveling.

Great location, kind staff, and accommodations covered all you need. Do a free walking tour with Erika, she was awesome and it was an amazing way to meet people (make sure to tip her, she deserves it)!!! The walls are definitely thin and it is loud in the mornings and nights, but hey its a hostel and they offer earplugs at reception... 10/10 will stay here again when back in Madrid!

I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels and this one is exceptional. It is cleaned constantly, the beds are super comfy and private, the kitchen is amazing, and there are chances for socializing and activities. Perfect location in the middle of everything. Free coffee is such a nice touch.
