The 7 Best Hostels in Madrid (Updated 2025)

"Named after Isaac Newton’s prediction that the world would end in 2060, the entire hostel is covered in quotes and colorful artwork around that concept. I loved the rooftop terrace, but the real highlight for me was the spa and sauna (available for an extra fee and well worth it). There’s no breakfast buffet or on-site restaurant, but they offer free coffee and churros every morning and a fully equipped kitchen; the staff organize many social activities (walking and bike tours, pub crawls, group dinners, sangria nights) and you can rent bikes from the hostel. The beds are really comfy with curtains, thick mattresses, individual reading lights, and sockets." - Matthew Kepnes

This youth hostel is really centrally located - a fifteen minute walk away from all the major tourist attractions, particularly the museums and El Retiro parc to the east and the old town, royal palace and cathedral to the west. |The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfortable. The hostel was quiet at night - no problem with noise from the street or other residents.|Cleaning staff are constantly at work to keep all areas of the hostel clean. |The communal kitchen is well equipped and surprisingly clean given all the people who use it. Access to a huge fridge is really practical, as is the dining area. |There's a nice relaxed atmosphere in the dining/lounge and roof top areas which favours meeting other travellers. |The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the hostel organises various outings and visits, e.g. free visits of old town and new town, pub crawl, tapas evening, street art tour (which I did) and flamenco evening....|I would highly recommend this youth hostel.

I booked 5 nights here and really quick booked another week or so, this place is truly like home away from home- Alejandro the great receptionist welcomed me late at night and explained everything in details, their rooftop is to die for, the kitchen has STOVE! which for me as I cook is a major thing, the beds were so comfy and the rooms were cute and nice. All across the hostel you can find these little cute details they write on each door and mirror which gives the place an extra special touch. The team were always there to help with any question, always with a smile, always welcoming. The location was awesome, I wish I could live here forever and I truly loved it. Thank you to all the lovely team who made this place so amazing for me, HIGHLY RECCOMAND THIS PLACE!

The hostel is on a good location, close to public transport, supermarkets and walking distance to the centre. The rooftop is a good place to interact with other visitors and there is always something to do such as tapas night, bingo, walking tours, etc. |The kitchen has anything you’d need to prepare your own food and it’s always kept clean and ready to use. |The rooms have aircon and are cleaned every day. Bed linen is clean and bed is comfortable, with curtains on each beach, allowing privacy. Bathrooms and toilets are cleaned many times a day, which makes it even more convenient. |There is free coffee, tea and churros every morning. |The staff are very friendly and helpful. In my case, my departure bus was at 23:55 on the day of my checkout. However, they permitted me to keep my luggage in the storage and hang around, even use the kitchen, until it was time for me to leave. |Another incredible experience was that, despite being a hostel, it is located in a quiet street and the sleeping quieter time from 23:00 to 08:00 was completely adhered by anyone. |Next time I’m visiting Madrid, I’d definitely stay there.

This is an awesome Hostel, I had a small problem with my reservation and it was handled quickly without issue. Andrea and Victoria are very friendly and made the check in quick even with my mistake! I then went on the day tour with Diana and she is great! Very informative and attentive. I finished the night with a pub crawl and the tour guide was awesome kept us all safe and made sure we a good time! Can’t wait to come back!

The hostel is super cute, could be a little bit cheaper but it's good value for money. Even though the rooms are big, there is privacy, the beds are comfy, the showers are hot and clean, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The location is amazing (not in the main center but pretty close by foot, and close to the subway). They are doing lots of tours and parties in the hostel, the roof top is nice too! If you are a solo travelers, I would really recommend:)

I had an unexpected situation where my bank card was stolen, and the staff went absolutely above and beyond to help me. They were kind, patient, and proactive in making sure I had everything I needed to sort things out. A special thank you to Victoria, who was incredibly helpful and understanding throughout the whole process — truly one of the most compassionate and professional people I’ve met on my travels. I’m so grateful for the support I received here — it made a stressful experience so much easier to handle. Highly recommend this place for both the great facilities and the amazing staff!

I enjoyed staying at this hostel. The main reason I booked this place over others was for the beds with curtains on them, for extra privacy. It’s a relatively social hostel with activities like walking tours and pub crawl. I personally wouldn’t recommend the pub crawl, but check out the other things and find a group of people to check out bars yourself! As a solo female I felt safe. There was one sleezy guy in the hostel who wasn’t asked to leave sadly. But other than that, it was pretty good! Everyone was friendly and I enjoyed my stay. The kitchen is pretty small but has plenty of amenities. There isn’t much chilling space so wouldn’t recommend booking if you need to work or have lots of downtime. The rooftop was a massive highlight and is pretty quiet during the day and busy at night with the in house bar. Great location! Everything within a 20 minute walk.
