Amazing food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. It was our first time trying Guamanian food, and Prubechu made us wish we had tried it sooner. It SLAPS! We ate outside under the tent at the picnic tables. It was very comfortable and warm, despite being a cold and rainy night. We ordered the Koko wings (a MUST order) with the hot sauce, which is an additional charge, but totally worth it since I slathered it on all the other food I ordered. If you like beef stroganoff, let me tell you that you have to order the Tinaktak. It takes beef stroganoff to a whole new level. The brisket was also good. We ordered the appan mendioka (cassava) as a side and it paired well with everything. The dish we found to be a bit underwhelming was the tamale. But maybe because we are used to Mexican tamales with really delicious fillings. This one didn't have a filling, and was more of a simple dish. The Chamorro punch was also a bit too watery for us. Starting with positives- Ambiance- vibes, heat lamps, live music, decor - like my friends backyard in HNL. - check check check! 5/5 Food - delicious vegan & non vegan ono - liciousness! 4/5 Service - it's was weird to say the least...sat right away by friendly front of house @ nice table - check! Waited 20min to order drinks, waited another 15min to receive two non cocktails Waited another 15 for warmed bread... When we politely inquired where our dinner was - only 2 dishes - after seeing 3 tables sit down next to us after we ordered our dinner - receive their entire meals....we were told "oh, we are coursing the meal"... sorry, what now! Did you say that to me!?! Additionally we watched table after table get their food and receive a lecture series about the ingredients - cool story top chef - where's my dinner?!? Now over 60min of waiting... When our food did come out, "cold" delivery meaning no story time & no love & worse still no acknowledgement of the insane wait for the tasty food... We left feeling treated like second class citizens, gaslit, overhearing a heartfelt apology by our server to our neighbor table "thanks for your patience" - a simple - my bad would have resuscitated one or two stars. Again, cool story Guam Cha Cha Cha.

I have never had Guam cuisine before and it was such a treat to try this upscale spot. We started with the Chamorro rolls, which had the most amazing coconut butter and then enjoyed the chicken kelaguen which were like zippy little zesty tacos, their hot sauce is spicy beware! Lastly we enjoyed the Tinatak which was best described to us as a mushroom stroganoff but the tomatoes made the dish feel bright ! They have plentiful outdoor space and would recommend a reservation for this spot. They also have outdoor bathrooms in addition to their brick and mortar. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert this time. But hope to be back!

Came for brunch and there was plenty of seating. They had a large indoor / outdoor space. We shared the koko wings, tinaktak (beef noodles), sweet rolls and bbq eggplant. I loved everything and it was all so flavorful and different than anything I've had before!

Wonderful cozy and modern restaurant with great vibes and a large patio. We were able to easily make a reservation, but it wasn't too busy on a weekend for lunch. They have an extensive drink menu with really reasonable prices too. They were super accommodating of my friend's allergies here, clearly marking which menu options were safe and substituting ingredients if needed. Everything we tried here was so uniquely flavorful, my favorite was the chicken wings! Parking is difficult here since it's in a busy area but there's are metered spots around. I'll definitely be coming back to try more!

Stumbled in here with a friend and it was the patio and menu that attracted us! So happy to see a Guamanian spot in the city. Growing up my mom always made chicken kelaguen so having it in a restaurant felt like nostalgia! We ordered the chicken kelaguen, tinaktak, and the bread and butter rolls. We also each ordered a Chamorro punch. The food was overall super yummy. I was surprised by how delicious the Tinaktak dish was! Never had it before and would def have it again. Staff was so sweet and the ambiance was vibrant. Happy to have stumbled in here!

I saw Prubechu recommended online, and now I know I love the cuisine of Guam! If you're looking for where to stop next, just come here - you need to experience this for yourself! Our drinks were delicious, and the food was just outstanding with so many individual things we both knew we'd like but used in dishes we'd never seen before - the hardest part was picking what to try on this visit. The ribs were so succulent and flavorful but the rice was, honestly, a total standout itself. And I just love a good noodles-and-veg dish and this might have been my favorite in months. Huh, now that I think about it, this meal was a couple weeks ago...We might head back this weekend! The environment of the restaurant is also really nice. Cute lighting, comfy seating, and I had to take some pictures because the plating has a wonderful simple beauty to it here. We were lucky to actually have the owner of the restaurant running our table, so we got great advice on what to try and felt very warmly welcomed. Thank you, Prubenchu!

Very good (but pricey!) Delicious food that seems authentic. Very friendly servers, up beat music, and a great vibe overall. We ordered the Lechen Birenghenas (eggplant in coconut milk), Pika tamales, Koko wings, BBQ pork ribs, a side of red rice, and coconut candy ice cream, which was honestly too much for 2 people so we had a lot of leftovers. Lechen: 5/5 recommended by our server, a bit strange of a flavor at first but the more I ate the more addicted I became. A sign to venture outside of your comfort zone and try new things! Pika tamales: 4/5 I loved the sauce and the egg with the tamale, but it could have used more sauce to balance it out Koko wings: 5/5 we almost didn't get these even tho our server said it's a crowd favorite. SO glad we did. Perfectly soft, perfectly crispy, perfectly seasoned Bbq pork ribs: 4/5 you definitely need a side of rice with this, or a side of something. Coconut candy ice cream: 5/5!!! The sauce on this ice cream is amazing. I love that it comes with ice cream cones.

A bit disappointed overall; really liked the fried chicken but the rest was decent but not great. Empanada was quite nice in terms of texture but the beef and potato filling lacked seasoning. Personally, I didn't like the eggplant, it was a mix of textures and flavors I didn't like. It is served cold, has a very mushy texture, and an off smoky flavor. We thought the beef noodle dish was a bit misleading; we thought it'd be a beef dish with noodles but it was noodles with beef in it. Despite that, it was very coconut forward and tasted quite nice like a coconut curry x beef stroganoff but the portion was really small for $30. Fried chicken was spectacular, best item we had by far. Perfectly crispy dry wings with savory and slightly sweet seasoning. Moist chicken and a nice vinegar sauce on the side. These wings alone make it worth the visit. Finally, dessert was also nice, liked the textures and flavors quite a bit. Service was great, staff was very friendly and attentive. At one point they asked if we wanted hot sauce with the chicken, to which we responded yes, but didn't realize it was with additional charge. Not a big deal but was surprised by it on the bill.

Beautifully executed dishes inspired by Guam - yes Guam! Can't say i've tried Guamanese cuisine before but it was exotic, very tasty - and the staff and beautiful ambiance really make this place a gem in the mission. Yes there are 2 beers on tap, an ILA and blonde, lots of wine and cocktails as well. cheers!!!

Only Guam style food in SF that I know of and have had. Friends and I ordered a variety of dishes - koko wings, tinaktak, coconut tityas, lechen birenghenas and banana donuts. The flavor profile for the dishes we ordered were coconut and citrus forward. Service was great but they did seem to like to upsell. When asked what their most popular dishes were....they said everything which wasn't super helpful. Ambiance was pretty nice outdoors but the bench seating got a bit uncomfortable over time. I was kinda shocked by the pricing of some dishes and value for money isn't really there since the ingredients were pretty basic and dishes were small. One of the main dishes for some roasted yams cost a whopping $32 so just keep that in mind - we didn't order that. I don't think the cost of the food was also balanced with an ambiance that was worth this price point as well. Koko wings (5/5) - marinated well with a citrus forward dipping sauce and nice crunchy exterior Tinaktak (4/5) - thought was a coconut braised beef but ended up being ground beef with some bouncy egg noodles and mushrooms, tomatoes, and green beans Coconut tityas (3/5) - basic flatbread that we used to dip our appetizer in, a bit dry Lechen birenghenas (3/5) - thought it was a bit too charred and citrus heavy that it overshadowed the eggplant natural tastiness Banana donuts (5/5) - these were hitting since it's fried banana balls with fresh whipped cream Overall not bad! I don't know how often I'd come back because of the pricing but it was nice to try a new cuisine. It's important we have a diversity of cuisines represented in the sf food scene and they do a good job in showcasing their dishes. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 3/5

This restaurant has almost everything to make it my perfect type of restaurant. Great service, delicious food and drinks, live music, and great vibes. That's pretty much all you need! I may just be an alcoholic and wished there was hard alcohol lol. But they have beer and sake and actually introduced me to a new favorite sake, Chokaisan 'Mount Chokai.' The description said "a glass of this is a STEAL!" so I had to try it. And it was amazinggggg. Sooo buttery smooth. Must get!!! We ordered: lechen birenghenas aka the eggplant $16 beef and potato empanada $14 mushroom and cheese empanada $11 koko wings $22 tinaktak aka hand made egg noodles $30 Everything was delicious. It was pricey, but aren't most restaurants in SF these days? So now it's more, what actually taste really good and has great vibes? Prubechu. And I bechu'll love this place too ;)

It's my first time eating Guam cuisine. My son wanted this on his birthday. We didn't bother trying to park in this neighborhood. It's shady at night since a few blocks down the street where there are gang fights going on. So we took Lyft. The restaurant has extension next to it which used to be a parking lot but now is a patio. Food was pretty tasty but pricey. Here are my ratings: - Chamorro sweet rolls & tuba butter 3/5 nothing special to me - Ko Ko wings 5/5 - whole fried garlicky brazino 5/5 with lots of veggies like marinated cabbage and eggplant - garlicky shrimp and grits 4/5 only 4 large shrimps and mostly grit with cauliflower and snap peas - Tinatak 2/5 noodles and ground beef not that flavored and bit too mushy - Bunelos aga fried banana 4/5 wish ice cream went with it instead of whipped cream Service was excellent but I don't think I'll come back unfortunately. For the price, it needs to be outstanding.

Service was really friendly, their outdoor seating was really comfortable and warm even in the chilly winter. Food was great and really enjoyed my dinner here. What we got: Chamorro sweet roll with butter: so much joy loved it, fluffy and warm chicken wings: well done fried chicken but too seasoned for my taste, sauce was also too vinegary Chicken kelaguen: very yummy nice balance of flavors and appreciated that it was easy to share with the group Tinaktak: favorite savory item that we got, chewy sauced and coconut perfection Lechen birenghenas: full of flavor but personally too sour Banana donuts: crispy and full banana the coconut cream was so fun and a great addition, loved it!

My gf and my first time trying out Guam-anian food. And let me tell you, their unique style is super tasty. Food was a delight with the wings as the absolute winner for us - crispy and extremely well seasoned. Eggplants are an acquired taste fyi. And to have the best time, sit outside because it's so lively and feels like a neighborhood bbq. Don't forget to enjoy their ice cream dessert. One of my favorite restaurant desserts

Fiesta Tasting Menu 1.) Corn soup with basil, olive oil and cripsy potatoes 2.) Mushroom and strawberry salad with wasabi vinegarette 3.) Smoked eggplant with cherry tomatoes Add on.) Coco wings with lemon finadenne 4.) Shrimp and clam pancake with roe 5.) Taco 6.) Rice 7.) Potato salad 8.) Ribs on lentils 9.) Picanha 10.) Bread pudding For larger groups, you choose between the Fiesta Tasting Menu or family style. The tasting menu was just family style basically. Only the soup, taco, and bread pudding were individual. Everything else was shared. The shared ratio was a bit off. We had 10 people with 4 bowls of salad, 4 dips, 2 bowls of chips, 4 pancakes which we all felt should have been five to have half per person, 4 bowls of rice, 3 bowls of potato salads, 3 plates of ribs, and 3 plates of piranha. The food was overall good in my opinion but I think $96 was expensive for what you got. The soup was quite good and a good portion! The bowl was double the volume I get of an individual bowl at a Chinese restaurant. I liked the salad dressing but I'm not a fan of mushrooms so this was just a preference. For people who do like mushrooms thought the mushroom and strawberry combination was odd. The dip to chip ratio was off gave two Chinese soup bowls of dip per one small bowl of chips. I'm not a fan of eggplant but I couldn't tell the dip was eggplant. I'm also not a fan of clam but I liked the pancake! Taco was good. Rice was good but very oily. I wasn't a fan of the potato salad like I am about Costco potato salad. I'm not sure why exactly I wasn't into the potato salad flavor. I enjoyed both the tender ribs and picanha. Bread pudding was just fine. I'm indifferent to bread pudding.

Incredible spot in the Mission for Guamanian food! It was my first time trying this cuisine and it left me pleasantly surprised -- all the flavors are very unique but every dish felt very cohesive. We ordered the koko wings (super flavorful and incredibly crunchy! and really good with the fermented lemon sauce). The tinaktak was the highlight -- so coconutty, garlicky, and citrusy. Very comforting and filling! Also loved the coconut wrap on the Kelaguen & Coconut Titiyas dish and the chicken was super flavorful. The Lechen Birenghenas was really smoky, which was a really unique flavor I've never had in an eggplant dish before. The service was incredible and so friendly. They even gave us free hot water since it was quite a cold and windy day (they have heaters outdoors too!) The staff were all super knowledgeable about the menu too. The ambiance on the outdoor patio is also incredible -- so colorful, lively, and felt so homey and comfortable. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking to try something new! The dishes are shareable so it's a perfect place for groups.

Located in the Mission District, it's safe to say that Prebechu is the only restaurant in the city featuring Chamorro dishes. The tagline on their website reads, "From Guam with Love" -- and that's exactly what we felt as soon as we walked in. We came in for dinner on a Friday evening so about every table was occupied, it was lively with laughter, and there was a DJ spinning some familiar tracks. The hospitality from the host to our server(s) were world class island vibes -- friendly, sincere, composed, and simply fun! Our sweet host (didn't catch his name) was able to squeeze us in for a table in their heated outdoor patio section, but warned us of a time limit because a reservation was scheduled to come in within 90 minutes. No big deal as 1.5 hours is plenty of time for dinner. But lesson learned for all of y'all, make a reservation so you don't risk not being able to snag a table. Alright, let's talk food. My date and I ordered the following to share which was plenty: * BBQ PORK RIBS ($23.99) soy sauce, vinegar, lemon, garlic, sesame oil * BOWL OF CHICKEN KELAGUEN ($16.20) bbq'd and marinated in lemon with scallion and coconut * RED RICE ($8.01) achote-seasoned rice * KƠ KO WINGS ($20.28) dry spiced fried chicken with lemon finadenne * PICKLE BAG ($8.95) pickled egg, carrots, and assorted vegetables * CHAMORRO POTATO SALAD ($9.01) egg, olive, bell pepper, mayo and nori powder Chef and kitchen staff: y'all have taste and presentation on lock. I appreciate how you all have preserved the recipes of traditional Chamorro cooking, and am impressed with how you added a twist to make the dishes look aesthetically trendy. Taste + Presentation + Authenticity = Brilliance. Bravo. Good vibes, consistency with service and hospitality, and excellent food -- what else can one ask for? We'll be back and you can count on it!

omgggg yummmm!!!!! we got the tinaktak and the mushroom cheese empanada and both were super tasty. the noodles had a great QQ texture and the flavors were soo up my alley. it was super savory and a little acidic - the only thing missing as my dear yelp elite friend jacquelyn said was a bit of crunch. the empanada was crispy and covered in cheese. it came with a delicious sour cream sauce as well. service was attentive and the seating was plentiful. the only other thing is that it is a bit on the pricier side. definitely check out prubechu if you're looking for a nice dinner spot!

I've never had Guamanian food so I was excited to finally try Prubechu, and it did not disappoint! My friends and I arrived on a Saturday just after 6 and managed to snag a pair of high top tables. If you have a larger group or plan to come during peak dinner hours, you may want to make a reservation - both indoor and outdoor seating filled up throughout our meal. For our party of 3, we ordered: - Lechen birenghenas (eggplant): when this came out, we were so confused by its appearance as we had never seen eggplant prepared this way. But this exploded with flavor and was so unique - highly recommend! - Mushroom & cheese empanada: this had more of a crispy than flaky crust compared to traditional empanadas but was still good. We also didn't expect the cheese to be freshly grated in a huge pile on top of the empanada. - Pickle bag: this was legit a bag of assorted/seasonal pickled veggies LOL I only ate the radish bc I don't eat any of the other veggies. It wasn't as salty our sour as American pickles, but also wasn't a strong fermented pickle like kimchi or Szechuan pickled cabbage. - Tinaktak (noodles with coconut braised beef): this appearance also confused us bc we were expecting a brown braised beef. This was reminiscent of cream of mushroom but more savory and with coconut flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy too. Make sure to mix well bc the meat is mostly at the bottom of the bowl! - Chamorro potato salad: this didn't taste super unique, but I love all potatoes so this was still excellent for me LOL. - BBQ chicken skewers: this was essentially teriyaki but had the perfect balance of salty and sweet, and WOW this was the most tender chicken skewer I've ever had in my life. It came w sesame oil to dip but we honestly didn't need it bc the sauce was so good on its own. - Drinks: we each got a different cocktail but I forgot to write down their names :( tasty but nothing super special. The vibes were also very fun! I loved all the island decor, merch, and music, and appreciated that the volume was just right to still carry a conversation. The staff were super nice and friendly too, which added to the warm island vibes. The menu is pretty expansive, so I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes!

Not sure what else to say about this place besides that it's amazing. Set aside the sheer novelty of eating Guamanian food and just enjoy the atmosphere, service, and general ambiance of this place. Sitting outside somehow doesn't feel like you're in the Mission, it feels like you're on a family friend's patio. The food is of course going to be terrific (hence the 5-star review, silly); the fried chicken wings and the sweet rolls are stand-outs, and that's not to mention any of the distinctly Pacific-Rim-style dishes. Love this place and always take people visiting here for a dining experience unlike any they've had before (unless they're visiting me for a second time ;)) Thanks, Prubechu!

This place has an amazing patio area. On a nice day, it's really refreshing and still warm with all the heaters they have around. The staff was always on point, making sure we got our orders and taking away the plates when finished. They also accurately described how much food we should get and was spot on with the estimate. The bad: it's very expensive. 20$ for the eggplant which had 1 Japanese eggplant and the 30$ Japanese yam had only 6 pieces of yam total. If the prices were halved, I would come back since the food was good and it's the only Guam style restaurant in sf, but I can't be okay with paying so much for so little portion sizes.

This spot has been on my bucket list for a minute, and who knew it'd be one of my favorite dining experiences in SF. We made a reservation for the outdoor patio on a Saturday evening, which is such a vibe! Just lively enough but not super loud or crowded. The service was also stellar throughout our entire meal. The cocktails here are so creative, and I got a Makkeolli one with strawberry, which tasted like strawberry milk. So good!! As for food, we got the Chamorro Sweet Rolls with Tuba Butter, the Lechen Birenghenas, the Tinaktak, and the Crispy Sweet & Sour Pork Belly. Everything was such a hit, but my favorite item was probably the Tinaktak. The noodles have the perfect amount of chew and this had such a fresh but nutty flavor. The Lechen Birenghenas is also super unique. For dessert, I knew I wanted the Banana Donuts even before I got here LOL. These were exquisite!! Kind of like beignets, but make it a tiny bit healthier I guess hahaha.

Made reservations on the outdoor patio here for a birthday dinner, and overall it was a good experience. The food had delicious flavors, the tinaktak, koko wings, and brisket skewer being the stand outs for me. However, the price to portion ratio is on the expensive side for what you get and none of my group of 5 left feeling full after 7 dishes and drinks. The cocktails were weak on the alcohol but had nice flavor profiles, our fave being the Guam with a view. The super attentive service and ambiance make this place a little more upscale, and if I ever come again I'd probably just order multiple of my fave dishes.

OBSESSED! Five stars all around for service, food, ambience, and experience. Definitely a must-try if you haven't had Guamanian food, but also a must-try if you're generally a fan of coconutty, bold, island flavors. Where to begin? So many standout dishes, I can barely choose. Lechen birenghenas (5/5) was like a smoky, coconutty baba ghanoush. Island roasted eggplant in coconut milk, citrus, and soy. Such a creamy, inviting palate-opener. Gulf shrimp kelaguen with titiyas (5/5) was a lovely shrimp ceviche-type dish served with the regional flatbread. The flatbread was a fun way to eat the shrimp but my advice? Lather it in the eggplant dish named above. Tinaktak (100/5). No notes. Excellent. Creamy, indulgent noodles. Soft, braised beef. Bright pops of veggies with tomato and bean. Such a vibrant and island-y noodle dish. A MUST try. Will definitely be coming back to try the entire menu from top to bottom. We ordered a healthy amount to share, and I suggest you bring some friends to do the same!

We came for Valentine's Day and sat inside! It was pretty busy, I had reserved a couple weeks in advance which was helpful. They had a few special Valentine's day drinks plus a ribeye for two special, but we ended up going with the $90 per person fiesta table, which was a 9 sharing plate chef's menu. I would say it was worth it for the special occasion! My top 3 of the plates were: 1 the potato soup - I think this one might be on the main menu? So potatoey and warm and just like this savory hug. Good crunchies on top too! 2 chicken kelaguen taco - per our server's explanation, kelaguen is a Chamorro dish that is like a cooked chicken ceviche almost? The chicken was super tangy and bright (not how I'm used to describing chicken) and had this great garlicky creamy aioli type sauce as well. 3 steamed sausage - one of our entrees; I forget the meat but it was served in the leaf that it was steamed in. The sausage mostly just tasted like meat but had these great flavorful crunchy bits on top, and was delish with the rice and sauce that came with it! Prices are definitely more on the "nice" dinner side versus just a casual spot, but I would come back for a special-ish occasion! My first time trying Guam cuisine, and it definitely delivered.

3 stars for value, 5 stars for taste! Went for dinner with friends last night and we all decided to do the Fiesta Table tasting menu. Everything we ate was absolutely amazing, but I was pretty surprised and disappointed by the portions we were served as we were paying $96 each at the table. Between 5 people, we each got our own corn soup, mussel, and bread pudding, but shared all the other dishes. For the main dishes/proteins, our table of 5 got two small soft shell crabs and 3 pieces of short rib to share, which left us all with about 1-2 bites per protein per person. Everything was incredibly well seasoned with complex flavors but value would definitely be better if you ordered a la cart for a group to share family style. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes on the menu if we come back next time!

Such an amazing restaurant from the food and ambiance down to the service! I visited with a couple friends and shared some dishes: -Beef empanada -shrimp kelaguen and titiyas -pork bbq ribs and red rice -pika tamales gisu -buñelos aga (banana donuts) My favorites were the shrimp kelaguen, red rice, and buñelos aga but everything was really good! It is a bit pricier than I'm used to seeing for Chamorro food but portions and taste are well worth it. Service is so friendly and attentive as well

I'm updating my review after another visit to this Guamanian restaurant, and it's even better than before! The portions are generous, and every dish I tried was fantastic, namely the Keleguan, omelette, and red rice. The cozy ambiance really feels like you're in Guam, just as my friend from there mentioned. They even had a live singer/guitarist who perfectly captured the island's inviting, laid-back spirit. Highly recommend for an authentic taste and a great experience!

I had the fiesta Table tasting menu and the food was so good! They brought me a large assortment of dishes and there was so much food I couldn't finish it. I also had a cocktail and a mock tail, both were delicious! The wait staff were super friendly and attentive. They were also knowledgeable in their recommendations. It was a bit cold inside the restaurant (late October in S.F.) because they leave the door open to the patio dining area. Otherwise I had a lovely time.

What a fun, delicious, fantastic spot in the Mission. Prubechu is the only Chamorro/Guamanian restaurant I know--and they get it right. Highly recommended. First, the absolutely delicious chamorro sweet rolls & tuba butter. Pillowy rolls, and the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It is divine with the butter. Heirloom tomato salad. Unique, and yummy. Wonderful, high-quality tomatoes. The shiso dressing is fantastic. Thrice cooked brisket skewer. Fantastic, super tender, great texture. Tasty sauce! The brisket is prepared in thee ways, if I remember correctly: smoked, braised and roasted. Red rice. Simple, delicious, and flavorful. Great companion for all the other dishes. The prices are a bit on the high side but worth it. It's expensive running a restaurant in the Mission. Friendly, efficiency service. The staff seem passionate and knowledgeable about the food! Seems to always be very busy, so make a reservation if you can! We particularly love dining in their outside area. Great vibe, you can feel the energy and liveliness. Area is on Mission, so if you drive, definitely prepare for major parking challenges! Otherwise, it's extremely close to BART.

Dinner at 5:30 pm weekday, not full. When we left, they were full. Got a history lesson on Guam. My curious companion talks to everyone. This is what happens with sociologists. Study of people where ever we go. We started with fried chicken wings. Addicting. Citrus with curry and turmeric spice. 2 drumettes and 3 little wingettes. The coconut and ground beef noodle dish was my favorite. The noodles were adente. The japanese yams was a mislabeled dish. Two little cubes of Japanese yam, but it is artistic stunning. Got chinese gai lan (greens), creamed spinach, some squash cubes. It is an entree in itself. Service was excellent, friendly, and checked with us at least 10 times. Staff was upbeat as well as the music from the speaker. Got chastise for parking the bike, not in the back but next to the shed. Sitting outside, very cool vibe.

I really wanted to like this spot because I've walked by it all the time. But this place ended up being a hit or miss, had very slow service (waited over 45 minutes after placing my order to get my first dish), and was all around too pricey for what you get. My partner and I got dinner here and shared the ko'ko' wings, tinaktak, bbq pork ribs, red rice, and some drinks. We were so hungry by the time food came because we waited over 45 minutes sitting at our empty table after ordering. The tinaktak was our favorite dish because it was so flavorful and complex, nothing like anything we've had before, and simply just delicious! The ko'ko' wings and red rice were okay but not worth the price. The worst was the bbq pork ribs, which were way too dry! Overall, I don't think this place is worth coming back to.

The ambience at Prubechu is something I crave in SF and I'm glad I've found a place. I came here for a date night and it was amazing. This place is definitely on the pricier side but I left absolutely stuffed so I'm not upset about it. The meal was excellent but I will say the brisket was wayyyyyyy too overcooked to the point where it felt a little inedible. Similarly the pork ribs were very lackluster. This disappointment came after the chicken tacos that had us dancing in our seats. Overall, the experience was great but I'm not sure if I'll be running back!

It was a really nice atmosphere & the service was great! Being from Saipan I had high expectations for it being a Chamorro restaurant & I was not disappointed. I felt like someone's auntie Mary was back there cooking the food herself. Chagi Prubechu!!

Prubechu is quite the cute spot in the mission. I heard about their wings in an Infatuation article, and have been looking forward to coming here since. The Koko wings did not disappoint. They were crispy, flavorful, and came with a delicious lemon fina'denne' sauce. As a sauce sl*t, I was quite excited by the new options available to me. We also had the red rice and the BBQ pork ribs. Both were pretty tasty too, but the wings were the highlight. Those three dishes were just enough to feed me and a friend, but one additional veggie dish would've probably been a good call. The service at Prubechu was solid, nothing to write home about though. They were pretty insistent on us ordering more, but I guess that's their job! We enjoyed the interior of the restaurant, and although we didn't eat outside, it did look cute out there! Biggest complaint would probably be the prices. I know it's hard to serve good food at a fair price in San Francisco, but $22 for 5 wings seems a little wild haha. Overall, I'd go back to Prubechu!

The most incredible food and beautiful service too. Literally the best food I've had all year! Everything is delicious and prepared perfectly. Do not skip dessert as it is incredible and authentic. I will definitely be back this week again asap to try more things. 5/5 stars I didn't take more pictures than this but the food is served with many gorgeous presentations.

I came to prubechu not knowing much about guamanian cuisine. A friend and I did the tasting menu and were impressed with the range of flavors. We shared ~10 dishes and left very full. It's one of the more affordable tasting menus for how much food you're getting at $90 each. Service was a little slow and the cocktails were nothing special. Would definitely recommend for a date night or if you're looking to try a new cuisine in sf.

I've never tried Guamanian food, but this place was definitely worth the visit. We came on a Friday night without reservations, but were able to get a table. It surpassed my expectations. From the aesthetic restaurant, to the quality of the food, I was blown away. I came here with friends and we ordered: *koko wings (dry-spiced fried chicken) *bbq chicken skewers *tinaktak (coconut braised beef, egg noodles) *red rice (achote-seasoned rice) Everything was so fresh, so flavorful, and so unique. If you've never had Guamanian food, Prubechu would be my go-to spot!

I wanted to love this place - it's role in elevating an oft-neglected cuisine into the mainstream is to be commended - but I left feeling that this might just not be for me. As a novice to Guamanian food, I decided to trust the kitchen and opted for the tasting menu; we went in blind and started off impressed with some great first few dishes, notably a spiced bread and a sweet corn soup. The oysters were also excellent, but the main courses left something to be desired. The poke rice was a bit basic (needed more sauce), and the pork belly was a tad too rubbery. Desserts were excellent and seasonal. But for the price point, I'd have expected more. It was a good "catered work meal" rather than the "fine dining tasting menu" I'd expected walking in. Service is adept and personable, and the restaurant itself is a joyful burst of color. But I'm fine not returning. Worth a visit. But just not for me.

What a treat this place was! Parking can be hard on Mission so it's better to take Bart or get dropped off. Their outdoor decoration is hella cute, very colorful and island vibes. Their greenery is nice too. They also have two clean outdoor port-a-potty's even decorated like their indoor bathroom and has music playing! One of the nicest outdoor bathrooms I've ever been in. Their inside bathroom is just as nice with nice decor and loud island music. It was everyone's first time trying Guamanian cuisine so we all just ordered based on staff's recommendations or descriptions. There was nothing we ordered that we didn't like. The fried donuts was a great finisher. The wedge salad with wasabi dressing was subtle and I don't even like wasabi! The curry noodles and pork belly was a nice combo. The table next to us ordered different items and still made us envious of their entrees. Next time, definitely going to order the whole fish and wings! Can't recommend this place enough! One of the most memorable meals thus far this year. Shout out to the homie for a great find.

Easily one of the best meals I've had in the bay area! It was my first time having food from Guam and the flavors were so unique but so delicious. We ordered the chicken wings, ribs, rice, the beef/potato empanada, and the rolls. My favorite item was the chicken wings - perfect amount of crunch and very delectable. The rolls were also so amazing - I'm not sure how they made such a simple dish taste so good but you must order! We got the fried banana dessert as well which was like heaven in my mouth. Another must order! The meal was a bit expensive but definitely worth it to me. I liked how culturally rich the decor was and the service was great. Staff were super friendly and welcoming.

Been here twice. Both times the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is great. Both times were in a Sunday and there is live music, that is great! Now the food..... Hot Dam! It's so good. I am vegan and there are a ton of opinions and the staff is super helpful. The meat is apparently delicious as well. The sauces are yummy and the dishes are interesting and so delicious. It's a little pricy, but well worth it. Go treat yourself and tip your server!!

The highlight of the meal was the Garlicky Shrimp and Grits. The dish is actually a spin on chalakiles, a soup with ground rice, and it was a little spicy and crazy flavorful. Despite the other dishes being unremarkable, the unique ambiance was super nice. Take a look at the photos people posted, because this spot is special. The majority of the space is outdoors, but they really went all-out decorating the enclosed parking lot and turning it into a well-heated island destination. The live music on the Friday night I came was a nice touch! The staff being super cordial really put a bow on it. I noticed they were able to handle large groups, and several staff members chatted with someone who had come solo. The other dishes I had I probably wouldn't get again. Maybe my standards have been elevated too much by a childhood of sweet butter from Texas Roadhouse and Cracker Barrel, but the sweet rolls didn't really pack a punch. They kind of reminded me of King's Hawaiian bread, but in a good way haha. The crispy sweet and sour pork belly just wasn't my thing: I think any dish with pineapple gets super saturated with the taste, this included. I guess this was sort of my fault for getting it, but I'd generally prefer getting small pieces of pork belly to the ones in this dish. The golai hagon suni, or coconut creamed spinach, was also just okay, and super lemony. The spot is probably on the edge of needing a marking of $$$ on review sites rather than $$. Nothing wrong with that considering the level of care they put into the general experience.

Although the experience with our server was not the best, we truly believe this restaurant deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Everyone can have a bad day, and perhaps today was one of those days. This review is intended to inform the establishment that sometimes one's behavior can ruin what should be a wonderful day or special occasion for others. Food: 5 stars The person who seated us: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars Our waiter, Paul, was quite dismissive and walked away while we were still ordering our food. When we asked for a box for our leftovers, Paul again walked away in the middle of our request. I let it go the first time, and after the second incident, we thought, "everyone has a bad day, so it's fine." However, while watching him interact with other tables, we became upset. He was not only smiling but also engaging in conversation with the other tables. As customers, we couldn't help but wonder, "Was it us? What did we do wrong?" Today was my wife and my 8th anniversary, and we came here because she loved this place--never again for me. After I brought Paul's behavior to the attention of the person who seated us, he went and told Paul while we were still seated. Paul then approached us, asking what he did wrong, and as I began to explain, he interrupted me by pouring more water and saying, "Well, are we done?" I responded, "Yes, so please just walk away--goodbye." The man in the blue hat who seated us was the person I spoke to about Paul's behavior. He genuinely wanted to make things right, and I must admit I had a sour attitude because I was very upset. My wife and I had the best day, and it was completely ruined by our experience at this venue. I will never return, but I know my wife will continue to support this business because she loves the food.

It was our first time trying Guamanian food and we were so excited to check out Prubechu! The ambiance for this restaurant was so perfect for a Sunday brunch. They had live music and it was such a cozy vibe. We loved the sweet rolls and the koko wings! The sweet rolls were warm and buttery soft. The koko wings had the perfect crunch and oh so flavorful! Would go back and get both again! I would skip on the bbq pork ribs because they were a bit over grilled and tasted super heavy. The tinaktak was decent. Overall a great brunch experience and the service was good as well!

Let's get this out of the way right now. Prubechu is now one of my top 5 restaurants of ALL TIME. I can't say enough about this spot in San Francisco. We each got the Fiesta Table which is a chef's selection of items on and off the menu. It was GORGEOUS. Food from Guam is vibrant, colorful and so interesting in taste and texture. Prubechu nails it all. There's so much on the menu and we were all so unfamiliar with food from Guam. Highly recommend the Fiesta Table as an introduction to this gorgeous cuisine. The staff is AMAZING. Almost all are from Guam and they are so delightful and fun. Lucy, our server said "my husband, woks front of house, and head chef are best friends and I grew up with the guitarist live performer." It's a family atmosphere and it comes across in their impeccable service. I couldn't recommend this place more. We all want to visit Guam now! GO TO PRUBECHU!!

Where do I even start... Never had food with the origins from Guam and man was I missing out! I was with a friend and decided to go for an early dinner around 6:30 on First off the ambiance: absolutely loved it! There was live music while sitting outside, the decor was simple but clean and had cute tropical decor. Service: service was great! Got us everything in a timely fashion as well as constantly filled up our waters without us having to ask. The server also gave us great recommendations for food. Last off food: it was only two of us so we decided to get 2 things and a side. The rice is to die for!!! You must get it , it was flavorful and just added zest to our meal the yams were savory but also sweet! I've never thought I'd taste something so unique like it. And then we got the chicken wings (I think the coco ones) and it was cooked perfectly! Crispy outside and tender middle All in all: I WILL BE BACK FOR SURE. Great food and i highly recommend this restaurant
