23 on Glen Guest House

This would be the second visit in the same year. Both experiences has been excellent. From the friendly greeting at the door, that feels like you are an old friend that is coming for a visit to the peaceful rooms and soft beds, this place is definitely one of the top guest houses for me. For people that enjoy their quiet time, this place offers that, rooms are nice and peaceful, first visit I did not hear my neighbours at all. Breakfast is always good. Does not offer dinner but there are many places that you could visit in the surrounding areas if you want a dinner.

We stayed one night at the 23 on Glen Guesthouse. Walking into the house you are blown away by the beautifully decorated and laid out dining area. We were shown around the house, given safety instructions and taken to our rooms where again, we were very impressed with the decor. Spacious rooms with private ensuites and tea/coffee facilities. ||We enjoyed one of the best meals in a long time at the Back Street Grill only 600 m from the hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! ||Unfortunately we had an early flight at 7:00 am so we didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast. We would absolutely stay again!

Our stay at 23 on Glen Guest House in the Eastern Cape was absolutely wonderful, thanks to the incredibly kind and caring Vanessa. Travelling with our two cats, one needing daily medication due to a heart-condition , can be stressful, but Vanessa’s genuine love for animals made us feel right at home. The accommodation is truly **pet-friendly** and our furbabies were not only welcomed but cared for with compassion. We were also impressed by the delicious breakfasts each morning, the convenience of free and secure parking on the beautiful premises, and the well-appointed rooms. Everything you could need is provided, even heated blankets for extra comfort! Thank you, Vanessa, for creating such a warm, thoughtful, and pet-welcoming haven. We can’t wait to return!

I can't fault Vanessa and the ladies that looked after us! The breakfast was amazing, the rooms comfortable and the atmosphere friendly and kind!

Booked in for a week long stay (business trip). Everything was just spectacular...from the staff, to the breakfast, to the rooms, cleaning services, etc. outstanding friendly staff. They made our stay such a pleasure. Cannot wait to return!

We had a short one night stay here before an early morning flight .|The rooms and accommodation are very good - certainly more than adequate for our families needs. |We didn’t get to try breakfast as we left early so I can’t say how that was.||The only challenge we had was that the property is not manned/doesn’t have a reception all the time. We didn’t realise that we needed to notify them in advance of our arrival time so when we did arrive we couldn’t get anyone to let us in etc. We understand that they had messaged on our UK mobile number to advise of this, but as we’d swapped our SIM cards over to SA ones we didn’t get the message. |Eventually another guest let us in but even once inside we couldn’t find contact details or a way to contact the host. We finally were able to email and they came to check us in.|Just something for other travellers to be aware of and to plan for!

Great place to stay, beautifully renovated and furnished. Very nice interior design. Parking lots are available in the courtyard. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, but a tiny bit too little. There were WiFi connectivity issues, the guesthouse staff was currently fixing. Yet, it unfortunately didn't really work. Also, I was not very fond of the bathroom sliding door, which was allowing a too big gap to ensure complete privacy. Still, our stay was overall very positive and we can definitely recommend the guesthouse. It had probably the most beautiful room design on our whole garden route tour. And have a look at those plugs - welcome to the 21st century. Why are those actually not standard everywhere, yet?
