237 S. Tryon St. Garage

I had made a reservation until 22:30. The first time I left the garage normally. On the way out I asked the garage person if I could go back in and leave until 22:30, which is when I had paid. The answer was yes you can as many times as you want untill 22:30. But the next time I tried to go out, at around 10:00 PM,the machine did not recognize the QR Code.As a result, I had to pay again for something I had already paid for!

This is the worst managed parking garage in Uptown Charlotte, bar none. Do NOT waste your money renting a spot monthly. Rented here specifically because I own an EV and they have EV spots here. EV chargers down frequently. People parking cars in EV spots without using chargers. Entire garage is poorly maintained. Only 1 elevator operational for the last 6+ months meaning you end up waiting 3-5 minutes every time you arrive and leave. Stairwells smell like piss. Tons of people double parked or parking massive pickup trucks in compact spaces never enforced, just horrible. Don’t bother.

Bought a $35 prepaid pass through FIFA’s official link for the 237 S. Tryon St. garage. Both entry and exit scanners flashed “Invalid Barcode” — no attendant anywhere, no call button that worked. After ten minutes blocking the lane I had to swipe my credit card for another $ just to get out. So I paid twice for the same spot, zero customer support on-site, and now I’m chasing a refund by email. Tip: either skip this garage or pay at the gate; the QR system clearly isn’t reliable and you’ll eat the cost if it fails.

Convenient location to downtown and Spectrum, but the discount offered was not accounted for when exiting. Tricky to get back into garage - have to enter through the attached hotel, turn left through door to get to elevators - definitely not obvious.

Do not park here under any circumstances. According to the hotel, there have been a number of recent break-ins, something that I experienced first hand this past weekend. The complete lack of security cameras or some sort of attendant/guard is inexcusable, especially if theft is a problem. On top of this, I paid my ticket at the pay station which was $20, and then on the way out it wouldn’t scan my ticket and when it finally did I was charged an additional $30. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not park here.

The stairwells do smell like an outhouse as one other poster said. But the deck itself is good. No issues with monthly parking. Plenty of open spots in the upper half and you're not stuck parking on a roof in the sun. Elevators work fine and are clean. Pedestrian exit to both the Overstreet Mall or the ground floor corner of Tryon/3rd. 3rd street isn't very populated with walkers, so fairly easy to get out of garage at night.

Will squeeze every cent out of you for every single thing you do. You can't even cancel your parking subscription whenever you want. There is a cost for that too. Not that it matters as preferred parking owns many of the parking decks that people need to park in of you work in Charlotte.

This parking deck is chaos. The attendant was confused, parking is tight as hell, the stairways smell like an outhouse and there are homeless people LIVING in the stairwells. Not my idea of a great place to park. Hope my car is still there and in one piece when I get back...I’d recommend finding an alternate parking garage!!
