Yelp
I live in Fishtown and this diner is pretty cool. The food is excellent always made fresh to order. It's always clean. The girls are always really sweet and lovely. All the portions are pretty large and could be shared breakfast lunch and dinner one of the best places in Fishtown

Moll M.

Yelp
great, clean diner, many coffee and menu options. we got crème brulee French toast, chipped beef, crabcake eggs Benny and standard eggs and toast. everything was fantastic.

Yelp
We came out at a time when the restaurant was empty. There were only 2 tables and ours. It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered breakfast. The food was cold. In the mist of cooking they began to clean the kitchen. They did not give refills until we asked. Food was not great and neither was the service.

Yelp
This diner has a beautiful yellow & blue interior, and the scent of fried foods waft to your nose in greeting the moment you walk through the door. The service is also quick, likely quicker than the time it takes for you to decide on what to order. I also really like the mural in the back of the diner. I got a savoury crêpe that featured chicken, vegetables, and avocado. I wouldn't recommend ordering crêpes from here as they are rather thick and taste like pancake batter (the filling was good though). My bae got a bacon egg & cheese on a hoagie type roll and after having a bite I think I just ordered the wrong thing. We also split a refreshing orange juice.

Yelp
I love the Fishtown Diner. It's a classic American diner with a little bit of grit, too large menu, and decent grill. It's a great place to take my kids - they're always accommodating, and my kids love the huge booths.

Nickolai D.

Yelp
The worst Easter breakfast,I ever had,I came in and sat at the counter and no one at like I was there for fifteen minutes, then my order wasn't complete , after I ask for home fries, never came and pancakes wasn't done and flat and didn't look done and the bacon was like week old,and sausage was greasy in side very cheap brand and the place looked close from outside? coffee was horrible..

Christine C.

Yelp
Ordered through door dash, they completely left the steak out of the order. We called them to let them know and have them deliver it, they told us we don't have any other option except to come pick it up. They did not offer any other suggestions, very poor customer service and staff unprofessional. It's a real shame because we order from here several times a week and no longer will be! Good luck staying in business with your current customer service

Yelp
We got our food exactly as we ordered it. We forgot our "to go" box and the waitress made sure we got it. Bottom line - great food and great service!!

Yelp
I called Green Eggs Café on a Saturday morning to check on the wait times and was so happy to hear there was barely a wait. My friend and I rushed over and were bursting with excitement to see all these empty tables around us, when we were reminded of their stupid cash-only policy. Unfortunately, neither of us carried cash or had our debit cards, so we had to leave with our hungry bellies. As we walked out, we noticed Fishtown Diner across the street and walked right in. Thankfully, there wasn't a wait and we were seated immediately. As I browsed the menu, I can't believe my eyes. Everything was so cheap. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich, and I ordered a short stack of pancakes, a coffee (Lavazza), and a side of turkey sausage. The food was decent - what you would expect from a diner, and the portions were huge, but best of all, the whole bill came out to be $21. And they take credit card!!! Never would I have known about this gem if we didn't bring cash for Green Eggs Café. I wouldn't mind coming back here again for breakfast food - which is served all day by the way!

Yelp
The food is amazing every time i visit here this place make me feel so good every single bite is delicious till end of the meal i tried every platter almost i recommend this diner than any diner in Philadelphia. The staff is so friendly polite and they give whole service at it's best. All in all 10/10

Francesca F.

Yelp
Solid diner in Fishtown. Cute aesthetic. Not dingy at all! Pretty up to date in design. Food was a good size, pretty decent diner food! Service was ok. Not super duper friendly but not mean in any way. Just fine I would say? Not a bad thing. Would probably come back.

Yelp
I have been craving a gyro and saw that the diner had it on there big menu. Unfortunately, we weren't able to eat and enjoy our meal in the diner but it was still good by the time I was able to eat it. There was too much Tzatziki sauce for my liking but I was able to get the excess out my gyro. It was pretty empty when we showed up but people started coming in after some time. The staff were kind and friendly towards us and very understanding after abruptly having to change our order to go right as it was about to be plated. And she gave us fresh drinks to go without having to ask. Staff was masked up and hand sanitizer was in the front. Went to use the bathroom and had my stomach turned upside down. Whomever used the toilet, missed and left the evidence all on the back of the toilet. IT WAS GROSS

Yelp
This is the most conflicting review that I've ever written... we only order cheesecake waffles on a Sunday afternoon. The place was completely empty! Once we settled into our booth, I noticed that the diner didn't smell like food, more so like a stale smell. I can't describe it, it wasn't unbearable, just--different. But the waffles came out, they were great. Literally one of the best that I've ever tasted. It was like dessert! I have to go back and try more. And I also need to go back to see if that smell is their norm, or if it was just an off day.

Yelp
Dined in during the middle of the night after being out - service was awesome, food was great, and the welcoming atmosphere was enough to make us excited to go back again! Restaurant layout is so cute and definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
Today my husband and I decided to have breakfast at this dinner that we have been going to for years now we walked in noticed they didn't have a good table open so we sat down to wait for a table as we are sitting we notice a group of servers all talking together but staring directly at us we pay closer attention and we realize the one in the middle of the group Karen (a server we get from time to time) is taking about us I'm not sure if she realized or even cared but we could clearly hear what she was saying and the other servers staring directly at us made it pretty obvious she started complaining about how we don't tip her when we visit but that is only due too her unpleasant attitude my husband went to the front desk to ask an if tips where included we where told that they are only included on weekends which was no problem to us we have been coming here for years but when the server we asked went to double checked with Karen she starting saying to we need to just read the signs and that they don't work for free. My husband and I are very shocked by this treatment and behavior all we did was walk into the diner
google avatar

Brianna K.

Yelp
Rude staff. Especially the heavy set lady at the register. When we got our check we could barely read it but saw extra charges on it. When we got up front we asked the register lady what the charge was and she said it was tip. And how for parties 2 or more on the weekends they can choose to charge 20% tip. So i said to my boyfriend (since he didnt hear her) that the get to pick their own tip. The lady rudely said "they dont pick their tip honey". So i responded saying how adding it on (without any signs or mention of it) is picking your tip. She tried to argue with me saying its up to the server if they want to add a tip or not to the check. Pretty sure thats the same as picking their tip. We tip on service quality. Our server was nice and we wouldve given her a 20% (if not more, and it wouldve been cash too) tip regardless. However forcing ppl to do a 20% tip based on if the server feels like adding it or not (which if they have the ability to, obviously they are going to) and not saying anything and arguing with a customer about it is pretty pathetic. The only signs they have about this is for parties of 4 or more. Not 2 people and up to servers discretion. Anyway, that lady needs an attitude check and they need to make customers aware bc i bet you most people end up double tipping if they plan to leave cash. Even if they dont plan to leave cash they still have you sign another receipt asking for a tip (on top of the one already added by the server) . Definitely sketchy and not cool.

Yelp
This place has been terrible since it changed its name but I figured let me give it another chance. I ordered an open face Turkey sandwich with xxtra brown gravy, a salad with no onions and old bay wiz fries. I received only turkey gravy on the Turkey, no wiz and onions all over my salad. So we called to ask them to remake it. We took it there and all they did was take the onions off the salad, drizzle some cheese over the fries and add brown gravy on top of the turkey gravy. After my wife specifically asked them to remake everything. I'm allergic to onions and they just disregarded it. I will absolutely never return here. The owner should be ashamed of this establishment esp after we were there a year or so ago and there were rats playing tag in the dining area. 10/10 do not recommend you could make better food on the side walk. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Yelp
Average food in a more hipster vibe, though Fishtown has come a long way from its more humble roots just a few short years ago. They have everything from milkshakes to breakfast to burgers and, hey, it is Philadelphia, so they ha e cheesesteaks. Service and food are ok, I guess ok in a mediocre kind of way, but diners have never been known to be culinary destination spots. Again, it has a cool vibe and the more traditional diner feel. It is a bit more expensive, but in all honesty, I guess the world is a bit more expensive. Stop in and give them a try.

Yelp
I like it. It's casual, quick service, nice size portions. Waitresses friendly. Clean. It's open late. I enjoy the club sandwiches Really good milkshakes I

Yelp
I've ordered on ubereats and also visited this place recently. Ubereats orders: food was burnt or soggy and the deliveries always run late due to the diner, not drivers. Actual visit: The service lacks and the food is average diner food. Not sure how this place stays in business, but I am sure it's because of the location. The hostess didn't greet, no one was friendly. I was actually here for a business meeting since it was the only place that had available seating/parking. Sadly, it was a bad choice. I've been here when it was mugshot diner, it was a better experience. Sad to see things changed for the worst.

Mel Demetrius Y.

Yelp
Terrible Food. Order Wrong. Ordered a Latte and Got Black Coffee. Asked for sugar and got none. Asked for cheese on my eggs and there was none. One syrup per tray of french toast. Ordered Hot Fries. They did NOT send Salt, Pepper or Ketchup. No Napkins or Utensils. Asked for the driver to call when they arrived at the lobby of the hotel. They did NOT which meant cold food. I will NEVER order from them again. Worst Ever.

Maryann H.

Yelp
Food is good but expensive. Service is okay. Ambience is fine. Do not recommend unless you want to pay for it.

Yelp
I'm currently visiting family in Fishtown and decided to go to my favorite diner, Fishtown Diner. On Sunday, I specifically asked for Mindy to be my server but was told by a new host with fake eyelashes and long blonde braids that she was unavailable because she had just been seated. Unfortunately, this was not the first time this host had been rude to me. In fact, when I went back on Tuesday, she was still unpleasant to deal with. Her customer service skills are extremely poor and I don't think she should be in a host position. Despite this, the food was amazing, which I would give a 5-star rating. However, due to the host's behavior, my overall experience was not great and I would not recommend this diner to others.

Yelp
The place is really a great place all-around diner The service is great the food is tremendous, and service is spectacular

Yelp
Sat for 15 minutes no service, not even waters. Got up and left as it didn't look like we'd be helped anytime soon. The times I ordered it as DoorDash it was okay

Yelp
Had a stellar late night meal at this great diner in Fishtown. I was with a very large group of people, but we all got served in a timely manner and with delicious food. Everyone had nothing but good things to say about their food and the wait staff was super nice! My fried crabcake burger was excellent. Meaty lumps of crab, delicious sauce, and no dry at all. The onion rings were really excellent as well, didnt feel frozen but more fresh made and were quite amazing! Certainly didnt expect this place to be so good at 2am but even as it got busier, the service was still just as good and was a highlight of my night!

Yelp
Well I was in the mood for like a small fish lunch, but all they had were big dinners with all kinds of sides... price was up there too. So I just opted for a tuna wrap. The waitress didn't have much to say about the desserts, there was no rice pudding so I opted for some coconut creme cake, which was fresh. Btw I don't know why this place is also called the Mugshot Diner... Fishtown is fine.

Yelp
*NAME AND MANAGEMENT HAS CHANGED. NOW CALLED THE FISHTOWN DINER* I had been there one time as the mugshot diner and had a pretty good experience. Place was packed and there was a line- clearly due to the quality and price of the food. I decided to give it another go as I heard good things about the new management and changes. Came on a Monday night and it was EMPTY. There was one other booth of two people. A few more people trickled in as we were dining but not at all busy. Could have been because of it being a day of the week but I'm not sure. They had a large section of the back of the diner blocked off because they are in the process of repainting a wall to include a mural that is dedicated to all things philly sports which you can tell will be awesome but the paint is just out in the open and there should be a rope or blockade or something because a little kid could easily run around the restaurant and get into all the paint, supplies and tarps laid out. I got a chicken parm sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were done to perfection. HOWEVER the chicken parm was completely inedible. It tasted like I was biting into a rubber chicken - I sent it back. Waitress was EXTREMELY nice and got the menu for me to order something else. She took my plate away and unfortunately the sweet potato fries :( I ordered a burger and SP fries again. The fries were super undercooked and I was really sad my other ones were gone. The burger was basic and fine. Did the job. But I was still skeeved out by my chicken experience. After dinner when we asked for the check the waitress said she could offer my a piece of cake for my troubles but I don't really eat cake so I didn't want any. She handed us the bill and we had to pay for the chicken parm - although not eaten and more expensive than the burger.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Mugshot for sometime. Today we decided to stop before the shore and going to stocks bakery. It's Fishtown so parking can be an issue. Luckily we found a spot fairly easy. We arrived around 10 and it was pretty dead. We were sat in a booth close to the hostess. Our server was nice. She was patient with our daughter as well. I went with a porkroll and cheese on an English muffin with home fries. The wife went with an omelette with home fries and rye toast. My sandwich was good and pretty spot on. The home fries were saturated in grease. They were bad! My wife's eggs were beyond over cooked and had a gritty consistency. Worst eggs we've ever had by far. The rye toast was dry and burnt on one side, getting some butter was a task in itself. The hot tea was luke warm at best. The music in the background was just as bad as the food. Who plays gangster rap music at 10am while kids are in there. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Hi I stopped in today n asked for Kim the host Drea said no because because she just got sat so was very rude I come here often and I was very disappointed and I didn't even wanna eat here no more after the incident have to hire better staff
google avatar

Lyfe J.

Yelp
So my first time at this place. I had a amazing time. However my Queen found a hair in her omelette. This was for me the turning point on how I felt about this place. The hostess did a great job helping us and telling the cooks to remake the food. We were worried about what came would happen next and well in short the next omelette was fantastic. Bottom line this place is nice.

Nancy G.

Yelp
It didn't matter that the food was decent, the staff was miserable (with the exception of one young girl running around helping the servers). Our waitress ? She look super annoyed the whole time, took forever to get to us, never smiled and was just unfriendly, period. Like the other woman's review on here, were were given a receipt to sign that was so faded that we couldn't read it. When we asked the server what the $10.00 on the bottom was for, she said to my friend from the Philippines "it's gratuity, do you know what that means sweetie? ". I guess because she looked different and had an accent that made her stupid. She is college educated, and I can assure you a great deal smarter than this condescending miserable girl. I waitressed for years, and I never heard of adding a 20% tip if I felt like it without even explaining to the customer that it was added? How many people double-tipped this server because they either couldn't see it or just assumed that was how much their food was. It explained why the service was so lousy....she knew she was slapping 20% on to the bill, so she figured she could treat us any way she wanted to. We won't be going back, and it would be wise for the owners to review their tipping practices as well as hiring some friendly people. The hostess was awful too, but that's a whole other storya

Yelp
Mugshot Diner in Fishtown, Philadelphia, is a classic urban diner, open 24/7 for the people of this north of Center City community. We stopped in after a show at Punch Line comedy club the other night. Laughing so much made us hungry. We cruised around the block for parking and found a spot on our second pass on York Street. Thank you parking angels! We sat in a booth along the front windows, where the hostess placed two menus and a specials laminated card. Our server came along promptly, introduced himself, and told us to let him know when we were ready to order. At 10 it wasn't very busy. Decent music in the background. We ordered one of their burgers and eggplant parmesan on ciabatta, after our server warned us off other ideas. Gotta trust the guy. Both sandwiches were decent - the burger grilled to a juicy medium, and the eggplant tender with adequate red sauce and mozzarella. They weren't awesome, but neither was that expected for the place and price. We were satisfied with this late meal. Mugshot has a sister house in Mt. Holly, NJ, where I have had several good breakfasts. If you like either one, your bound to like the other.

Yelp
You had a crazy Saturday night and you literally feel like you've been hit by a bus Sunday morning. Where are you going in fishtown to nurse that hangover? Don't go to a boujee, hipster place where you'll be the only one that looks like a cretin. Come here! The wait was only 10 minutes and every thing is reasonably priced. It's also BYO if you need a little hair of the dog.
google avatar

Yelp
I have tried this diner on multiple occasions for breakfast. Unsure why I continuously give it a chance. Out of my 4 visits my waitress was only friendly once. One time I ordered take out and the woman at the register literally rolled her eyes at me. Extremely distasteful. Tried the eggs and asked for medium and they were slimy. Tried a vegetable omelette and the veggies did not taste fresh. Tried a muffin and it was dry. Tried an egg sandwich with cheddar and it was sloppy and greasy. Needless to say after all of my previous experiences I will not be back. It was a convenient location and very close to my boyfriends house, however, I think we will travel a little further to enjoy quality food in the future.

Yelp
MICE!!!!! I ate there on Thursday (1/20) with my friend to have dinner. As we're eating our dinner, the couple in front of us screamed because- you guessed it: a little grey mouse scurried across the floor and into the kitchen. After that, we either saw 2 different mice run into the bathroom from the kitchen, or the same mouse run back and forth twice (either way, still pretty fucking gross). Our waitress was super helpful and understanding which I appreciated, but the chefs were chilling in the back like they had no idea the mice were running between their legs. Maybe they didn't, I can't make too definitive of a statement since I don't know them. Whoever owns this place needs to get their shit together cause the food was actually kinda good (before the Ratatouille reenactment, of course).

Frostcarlo S.

Yelp
Awesome, fresh everything, from the salad to the meats. I enjoyed coming here on my lunch break
google avatar

Wender O.

Yelp
Mugshot ! Where do I start. I have been coming here for a few years now since 2013. This place never fails me and the consistency is often what separates it from other diners. I have tried quite a few things from this menu , my favorite being the chicken parm and chicken noodle soup. The yellow and blue booths are very comfortable and spacious. Often being the place to go to after a night out with the boys. Went yesterday for breakfast and had the French toast with strawberry and blueberries , side of Turkey bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese. I was completely satisfied and our server was amazing. Will always come back for more
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
So this would probably get a solid three stars from me because this is a very run of the mill joint with very mediocre food and it's basically exactly what you'd expect. I don't come here because I want to. More so out of convenience because it's in my neighborhood and if I just need to eat something quick and don't feel like venturing far from home it does in a pinch. But I'm never coming here again based on some real shady stuff that went down tonight. So apparently the new policy is that they auto add gratuity to your check on the weekends but there is no signage or anything on the menu to inform the patrons of this policy. I ordered something I usually get and know what my bill comes out to when I ordered it and noticed the price was unusually high so I wouldn't have even noticed this had I not really really looked at my check. I overheard a few servers even mentioning amongst themselves that they got double tipped from a few tables because people didn't noticed gratuity was automatically added to their bills. There's nothing wrong with auto adding gratuity to your checks to make sure your servers aren't getting stiffed. However it's deceptive to not inform your patrons of that policy flat out. To make matters worse, the gratuity added onto my bill was 40%! My $8.50 meal had a $3.50 gratuity added on. I'm someone that always tips 20% and have made a living being a server so I always tip at least 20% and extra if I think service was great (it uh...wasn't). I felt bad complaining over that but it's kind of the principal of the thing? They told me the miscalculation was because "their computer system is old" but uh I have used calculators older than me to accurately calculate what 20% of a total is. After it was all said and done the automatic 20% gratuity was even less than what I would have actually tipped the server tonight had I been given the option to just pay and tip how I usually do. So yeah like...if you need to come here in a pinch, or still choose to do so, just be warned. Really look at your check to verify if gratuity was added or not and that it is actually a correct and fair number.

Mark S.

Yelp
We came in on Saturday for a late breakfast. I must say our waitress was rude and rushing us to be done. We come in every so often and never had an experience such as this before. Then she had the audacity to include her tip on our check. We like the food and the convenience but hope to never have her as our waitress again.
google avatar

Alexis M.

Yelp
Last minute decision. Came to area for green Eggs Café, but it was tooooo crowded. So this happening often will be an Advantage for the diner . For our first time it was a good experience, the sever was nice and attentive. Food came fast but could of been hotter , will definitely return again
google avatar

Krissi S.

Yelp
Wack. Fishtown Diner is certainly no Mugshots. My cheesesteak was overcooked & greasy aaaaaand missing the mayo & ketchup I asked for. My friend's chicken parm looked horrible, seeme didn't enjoy it or even finish it. I won't be back.
google avatar

Justin B.

Yelp
Let me tell you about my perfect morning. Say I have a doctors appointment or something that requires me to go into work later than usual. Well I do whatever that is and then go to Mugshot for the two eggs breakfast. It's the most basic of breakfast meals but I love it here. I dream about it. If I still live here when I retire I'll most likely make it habit. Wasting my entire 401K. So i sit and enjoy my coffee and eggs. Being a suburb kid by birth I have a natural affinity toward diners. If you're more interested in dinner at the diner the salads are super filling. These aren't dinky salads like the local bars are serving. These are hearty monsters that come with pitas. That's mostly what I get here. However I've had a few other dishes and all have been excellent. Also, back to breakfast, you gotta try the fruit parfait. It is awesome and once again it's not your average Starbucks, 6oz, non fat horse malarkey. It has texture and girth. There are meat on them bones. Better coffee than most diners. Anyway it upsets me to see that they only have 3 stars on here. I don't think they are being rated accurately. The wait staff is always super nice and helpful. It's decently priced. It's not too loud. It does have duct tape over some of the holes in the seats but I like that.

Yelp
Ordered the Veggie Quesadilla for take out and it seems to have been filled with leftover/random vegetables. Menu lists "Cheese, sauteed onions, green peppers, and tomatoes" Arrived with those, plus spinach, olives, mushrooms, and what appear to be the remnants of yesterday's steamed vegetables (cauliflower, carrots, green beans and broccoli). Super disappointed to not get the item as requested/presented and to have the suspicion that they're just throwing in old food to new orders. Threw it away after approximately three bites. I've had decent experiences there, but over the last few orders/visits, I'm done.
google avatar

Lidia M.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in I saw three waiters setting around looking extremely bored - they all made eye contact with me and saw me looking around but didn't even unkowledge that they saw me. When I asked about the prices for the bakery items- they couldn't answer me . They said they only know the prices for the cheesecake and since they don't know the prices for the other cakes they will charge me the same price for any other cake as they would for cheese cake . It's a shame that they made a really nice old school dinner set up to go to waste with such horrible customer service . I ordered a cappuccino and I could swear I saw fear in the waitresses eyes lol She asked me 3 times if I'm sure I don't want just coffee ... needless to say I didn't stay for dinner
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
I went to the Fishtown diner after it was under new management. I got the vegetable wrap and it was microwaved veggies in a tortilla. Very disappointing. They have too big of a menu to be able to execute any of them well. Avoid this place unless you want crappy diner food.
google avatar

Kathy R.

Yelp
If you would like to order cream chipped beef on white toast, and might do well to mention that you would like some chipped beef included in the cream. There was such a minimal amount that I had to literally dig through it to find it. Highly disappointing.

Lauren K.

Yelp
Horrible service, everyone is rude and it takes forever for food to come out. Beware they will give you a barely legible check and the tip will already be included. I won't go here again.

Yelp
My husband and I live within walking distance of this diner, but only got to try it for the first time today. I was a little nervous because there are a lot of negative reviews, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised! I also didn't know what the concept was behind the name, but apparently it's a diner filled with a bunch of celebrity mugshots. It's a little weird because I don't necessarily want to be thinking about criminals while I'm eating, but whatever. Anyway, the food was good. I got the creme brûlée French toast and was a little trepidatious since diners don't usually tend to make sweet breakfasts too well, but I really enjoyed what came out! The French toast was pretty light and not too egg-y. My husband got a basic breakfast platter. It came with two eggs, home fries, toast, and meat. Our server kept our water and coffee/tea mugs filled, so that's a plus. The prices were reasonable but not like genuine diner prices. We have a friend that says you should be able to go into a diner and get eggs, meat, and toast for under $6.00. They failed that test, but for everything we ate it only cost $25.00. I would surely return for breakfast. I'm not too sure how well they execute the rest of the things on their menu, but breakfast was a winner.
