After having dinner at Acanto, some of us decided to get a drink, so we walked down the street to this hotel bar. I'd never heard of 25hours Hotel, so it was cool to check out something new.
When we walked in, I thought we were at a youth hostel or something. There were tons of young people playing ping pong! Totally reminded me of my college days back in Los Angeles, when students played ping pong in the rec room.
Turns out there was some ping pong tournament, so I guess this wasn't what the bar typically looked like. But it still made for a fun and interesting atmosphere.
The decor is kind of retro, but with a modern flair. The furniture seemed to be a bit mismatched at first, with different pieces and colors strewn about, but upon closer inspection, you could tell that some interior decorator had carefully chosen everything to match exactly. Every single color in the multicolored rug was exactly replicated in the sofa pillows, chairs, tables, etc.
I ordered something new that I'd never seen before--Hofgarten Sauer rhabarberschorle (rhubarb spritzer)--which was a refreshing change to my usual Apfelshorle. A bit sweet and tangy, it was a refreshing fizzy drink to quench my thirst after dinner.
The NENI menu card stated free Wi-Fi, but I found the signal too weak to do anything.
The restroom upstairs had tons of mirrors for one of those really cool effects where you see the reflection go on for infinity.
The DJ played good tunes all night, which made for a very nice atmosphere to chill out with some friends for a drink and conversation. My only remark would be that the crowd seemed rather young on a Friday night, but that could have been due to the ping pong tournament.
