"28 Palms Ranch offers desert solitude with Mongolian-style yurts, each equipped with a queen-sized bed, private bathroom, heated shower, fire pit, barbecue area, and picnic table. The venue is located near Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park." - Travel + Leisure Editors
We just completed a wonderful stay hosted by Erin. The outdoor shower is so much fun (air dry!) and it really is glamping, definitely outdoorsy with a hint of roughing it, but with the comfort of running water, a toilet, and a climate-controlled megatent with a soft and comfy bed. Recommended!

Had a last minute available weekend and booked a yurt to be able to visit the Joshua Tree National Park.
My yurt had amazing linens and a very comfy bed.
I used the gas grill to cook up a frozen pizza and enjoyed some quiet time under the stars on the Adirondack chairs.
I appreciated the outdoor shower and the AC which kept the yurt cool after long hot hikes.
Definitely glamping. Be prepared with your own ice for the icebox/cooler. Know that the bathroom is like a latrine. Conveniences like power in the yurt and running water definitely elevated this from an average glamping experience.
Everything as advertised (or honestly, better!) Plenty of privacy.
Really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend!

My adult daughter and I stayed here after Memorial Weekend 2024. We were excited to try a yurt. The trip was to spend time at Joshua Tree National Park and to explore the area. This was an exceptional experience and Erin made it so much better than could have thought. She was in constant communication and stopped by a couple times to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had a little dining table which was great to store our snacks and meals as we opted to eat outside since it was so nice. Dishes and cookware were provided to use the outdoor bbq grill if you wanted to heat up/cook food. Outside was a sink with running water as well as a cool shower; it was awesome to shower and your view was of the mountain range. There's a marine toilet so you can do your biz in private. We got food and firewood in town at a local grocery store that Erin recommended. Erin provides an ice chest so we filled that with ice and actually took it with us to the park so our lunches/drinks would stay cold. It had everything we needed for lunches in the park and dinners at the yurt. The night skies were amazing!!! Erin also recommended several great restaurants in the area...use her recommendations! We had a blast staying here and highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. Thank you Erin for a wonderful and memorable stay!

We loved our stay here! It was very hot when we came through Joshua Tree, but the yurt was air conditioned and comfortable. This was a great alternative to camping during the summer heat. Erin was so friendly, she came by when we arrived to make sure we knew how to operate the marine toilet and the shower. She even mailed a stuffed animal we had forgotten to our destination. We definitely want to come back when the weather is cooler to explore more of the area.

Perfect balance of modern and experience of outdoor (the very basic outdoor shower and marine toilet). Inside of the yurt, the design is exotic, roomy space, the bed is comfy. (Memory foam!) it's very basic but they provide everything you need for cooking (and fire woods!) except for tv and fridge. They did provide a cooler. Star gazing is so amazing at night. we are here in the summer so no hike is advised between 10-5. We went on a nearby hike called 49 palm oasis.

Erin was super helpful and friendly(and gave us an excellent dinner recommendation!). The yurt was stocked with everything we needed and beds were very comfortable. Our daughter loved the floor bed. Shower was plenty warm enough, even on a cold morning. Hope to make another visit someday soon.

Our experience at 28 Palms Ranch was incredible! Erin was a fantastic host, super polite and kind. The location was secluded and had gorgeous views. The yurt itself was spacious and I cannot get over how comfortable the bed was! I cannot recommend these yurts enough, and we will definitely be back if we’re ever in the area!
