"Maybe you normally would have had plans to go to the Beatrice Inn this week, sit in a big leather booth beneath an oil painting, and split a tomahawk steak with the only person who gets a little tongue when you kiss. That energy, unfortunately, is going to have to wait - but you can still get that steak delivered to your apartment. Or, if you want a piece of meat that’s a little more manageable, try a New York strip, half a duck, or dry-aged burger with caramelized onions. If it’s an extra-special night, add a bottle of Champagne to your order." - hannah albertine
"If burning through an expense account is the objective, the Beatrice Inn is more than happy to oblige. The meat-focused restaurant in a former nightclub is dripping with old glamour, from its zebra painting and leather trim to the excess-forward menu. Chef-owner Angie Mar piles an impossible amount of raw seafood on the market-price Grand Coquillage platter, and $120 roast duck is flambéed and served with cherry jus." - Paul Schrodt
"There are places that specialize in fried chicken or steak or burgers, and then there’s Beatrice Inn. This West Village spot pretty much only serves different types of meat, and it does them all really well. Order a 160-day whiskey-aged tomahawk for your anniversary, or a pork pie with bone marrow and beef suet crust for the final episode of Too Hot To Handle. Either way, add a bottle of Champagne." - matt tervooren
"The Beatrice Inn makes the kind of food you start fantasizing about when you get lost in the desert for several days. Things like fried chicken, meat pies, and a roasted half duck. Order online for pickup and delivery." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, bryan kim, arden shore, matt tervooren
"If you want to spend a significant amount of money on some very rich food, but can’t get into 4 Charles (where you’d be dipping your fries in creamed spinach and calling that a vegetable), try The Beatrice Inn. It’s in the bottom of a townhouse on 12th Street, and the main dining room has ferns, a fireplace, and a portrait of a zebra. You won’t find any zebra on the menu, but you will find steak, pork, venison, and rabbit. Everything is pretty expensive, but now at least that won’t be a surprise." - bryan kim
