"Orient Express Restaurant and Lounge, Sodo Georgetown by Starbucks Global Creative. This gem of the SoDo neighborhood nearly defies description. This is what happens when you take seven antique train cars (one of which actually belonged to Franklin D. Roosevelt), turn them into a restaurant/karaoke bar that serves fantastic Chinese food and stiff drinks. Time will be lost. Parties will be had."

Yelp
great food! spicy curry the lady working at the front was so nice, great service! i got takeout but it is super pretty in there

Yelp
Great portions. Fast service. In the middle of nowhere. But good food. The Thai peanut sauce had a kick. Not used to the curry in it. But it got better as you go. The rolls themselves had too much shredded lettuce and mung beans sprout. Still worth a try. BBQ Pork Fried Rice is always a favorite. General Tso's Chicken is tasty, but a little stringy. Smaller pieces would help. They are ginormous pieces. But still tasty. Same for BBQ pork. Restaurant style... Cabooses? Anyhow, a bit excessive, but a unique dive.

Nico B.

Yelp
I was genuinely not expecting much from my visit to Orient Express, but I was delighted by what I found. My partner and I enjoyed some really flavorful General Tso's chicken, as well as green bean and beef stir fry, and some plump and juicy pork dumplings. Everything was delicious! The restaurant is in an industrial, slightly sketchy part of town. However, the real benefit is there is TONS of parking in the giant parking lot. It's not well-lighted, and there are a lot of potholes, so do be careful walking to the entrance at night. The entire restuarant is comprised of decommissioned train cars, including one that was part of Roosevelt's famous whistlestop train tour! Everything is a little rough around the edges, but that is part of the appeal. The seats were comfortable, the dining cars are extremely spacious, and there's just something so undeniably enjoyable about having dinner on a train. I highly suggest checking Orient Express out, even if it's just for a photo opp. The bright yellow train cars are hard to miss!

Yelp
The old Andy's Diner was a familiar place, but now it has been Orient Express for such a long time I am beginning to forget what I used to eat there. Now I look forward to consistent Chinese food, delicious won ton soup, great orange chicken, honey walnut prawns and stir fried rice noodle with beef. Love that it also has a full bar and you can choose to sit in one of the cars far enough away from the bar to avoid the noise. Separate rooms are also available if you are looking for a little more privacy. Service has been good and the food comes out pretty fast.

Valerie Y.

Yelp
I was nearly deterred by the reviews on Yelp and Google, but coming to Orient Express was a great experience. My frisbee team stopped by late on a Sunday night after a game, and the host welcomed us and put us in the karaoke room! It smelled a bit like smoke, but that smell slowly disappeared as the food came out. My table ordered the Salt and Pepper Tofu, Seafood Noodles, HK Fried Rice, Egg Drop Soup, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Eggplant. The food was honestly great. They nailed the HK Fried Rice and the Salt and Pepper Tofu. The portions were generally pretty big (except for the Shrimp) and none of us left hungry. Our waitress was also really nice and brought out so many bowls and plates once she saw we were doing a family-style meal. The vibes seem a little off from the outside since it's in a quiet area and the old train car gives spooky vibes, but it's great once you step inside. There's also plenty of parking! I really recommend stopping by and trying out this place.

Yelp
Everything was delicious . Very East Coast. Will definitely go back. Service was fast and eating in a train car was pretty fun.

Yelp
Fun venue in a super sketch area Food is expensive, almost each dish is $20.99 Drinks are $14+ Food is ok, I can't even say good: mix of Chinese & Thai dishes available. (Thai pineapple fried rice is SPICY). Service here is questionable, but I guess the two people here try their best. Karaoke is fun- the lyrics are sometimes super off and some of the music videos are questionable

Yelp
Orient Express went out of their way to grant me the BEST 30th Birthday Dinner I could've imagined. Their karaoke rooms are outstanding... they have a way for you to get any song you want to sing (using their selection or YouTube). And their service was so thoughtful and attentive and lovely. They worked with me to create a full-vegan menu for the dinner, and I daresay it was one of the best meals of my life. The salt and pepper tofu, the eggplant, the veggie fried rice.....etc. Just a really special meal, evening, and memory. You're the best, Orient Express! Can't wait to come back for more :)

Yelp
Such a fun place to do karaoke and for a good price. Food was ok, nothing amazing. The staff I will say was very rude both on the phone and in person so that's why I gave it 3 stars. If you can get past the cranky staff, it's a good time lol.

Erin N.

Yelp
theyre open for food past 11, the sign on the window says 2AM. stop in for food and check it out anyway. the bar closes earlier though. such a cool /historic spot. a must see for anyone visiting seattle. very awesome to hangout and chill essentially on the outskirts of the city, everyone i bring here is always happy and enchanted to see this place. good memories. the food is good enough but essentially the ambiance and location is the best part. i hope this place never closes. the people working here are sweet.

Lady F.

Yelp
We have driven place many times over the years and decided to finally stopped in. Clearly their business is pick up and delivery along with Karaoke in the bar. But we were warmly welcomed and seated. The food was really tasty and we enjoyed our meal with plenty to take home for a meal the next day. I honestly felt it was a good dine in experience and I would recommend it for take out or delivery. I loved the ambiance of the dining room, which gave a train dining feel. I appreciated hearing laughter and warm encounters from the host as people came in. I appreciated the service, even though apparently they were not really set up for in dining room customers. LadyFlava of LadyFlavaNews

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised by this place in terms of flavor. I have been searching Seattle proper for a spot like this, and this is the only one that comes close to tasting a bit like what I'm used to coming from the San Francisco Bay Area. Thought the decor of the place was kitschy and loved how they provided historical pics and backstory to how this place came to be. I had to deduct a star due to the lack of cleanliness of the place, to the point that I was ready to potentially be sick afterward but figured it's the price you pay for hole-in-the-wall places like this one. Had no idea, they have an attached Karaoke Lounge but will definitely be back for that at some point. We had a pretty classic order (not sure of the exact names, feeling lazy to reference the menu), Soy Sauce Noodle w Beef, Egg Rolls, Ginger Beef Scallion, Wor Wonton Soup. The Noodles were basic, but they were what I expected, so it worked out. The Ginger Beef Scallion was really good, just a bit too liquidy. The Egg Rolls were a little basic but also what I expected as for taste; these were a little bit disappointing; I was hoping for more flavor because that can make or break a place for me. The Wor Wonton was surprisingly good, I'll definitely order that again. Recommend this place if you're looking for something quick that tastes averagely as a typical hole-in-wall should? It's not fancy or clean, and I hardly consider it cheap eats, but the taste is at least a bit better than in other spots in the city. Definitely not a date spot, good for groups, though!

Yelp
Me and my friends went to the orient express on a Sunday night. It was pretty empty. We went for kareoke. The actual room was ok. The hallway and restaurant was a little confusing. It was hard to get to the bathroom. The food was pretty good! It was pretty standard. No complaints from me. I thought it was nice how you could use the room cover towards food. It was still ~$30 a person, which isn't too terrible. The service was really great. They got our food to us really fast & came in to take places every once in a while. Overall, I would probably go back here. I've never been to kareoke before so I don't have much to compare it to

Valeria S.

Yelp
I love coming here with my husband we have a great time eating delicious food. The 10. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings are our absolute favorite along with the 1. Mongolian Beef .

Kristen K.

Yelp
Orient Express is a unique Chinese restaurant and lounge, with private karaoke rooms. They are conveniently located a 5-10 minute walk from the SODO Link light rail station, and they have a parking lot. This is a review of their karaoke rooms. Overall, I was impressed. As long as every member of your party spends a minimum $25 on food, there is no room fee and you can stay in the room as long as you want. (With tax and 20% gratuity fee, it came out to just under $35/person total.) It's a fantastic value for the money IF you really love karaoke and will sing for 3+ hours. We were there for 6+ hours and sung until our voices died. I heard from some friends before that the food was "meh," but we all thought it was pretty decent family-style Chinese food. The karaoke menu is more limited than the main restaurant menu, but still had plenty of options. Some hits were the salt and pepper shrimp, garlic eggplant, and beef dishes. Most dishes on the karaoke menu are about $18-22, so when we all ordered at least $25/person we had so much food that no one left hungry. It's a very quirky place! The building is composed of several train cars with a restaurant/kitchen smack dab in the middle, and walking around the hallways feels a bit like a maze. The room was clean, the bathrooms were small but tidy, and the staff were very polite and helpful even though we had a huge rowdy party. (Note that I don't think this is ADA accessible: You have to walk up stairs to enter the building, and many of the hallways are too narrow with sharp turns for a wheelchair.) We were in the VIP room with 25 people. (The staff said we could fit up to 35, but 25 was definitely the largest I'd go before you run out of space/seating.) There was still lots of space to get up and dance. But I'd go with a slightly smaller group (maybe 10-15 people) in a smaller room, so we don't need to hit the minimum 20 guests for the big room, and so everyone can sing more songs. You can call ahead of time to make reservations, or walk in. The setup is good: dimmable lights, comfortable and flexible seating, two TV screens, strong mics, good sound quality. The karaoke system is a weird/quirky Chinese one but at least it has the capability to pull up YouTube videos (only 1 at a time with ads and no queue though) from the touch screen on the side, so you can sing any song you can find online. It was a little annoying that the on-screen keyboard would only pop up if we went back to the menu, and the typing sound was super loud and couldn't be adjusted, but we got over it. Overall, if you were just going for an hour or two or for the food, then it's not really worth it. But if you're hardcore into karaoke and want to sing in a private room until your lungs give out, the price is unbeatable! I would love to go back!

Yelp
My partner took me here after my work event. It's one of her favorite places to eat and she wanted to share it. It does feel like a well kept secret. We sat on the side with the bar. It's pretty old but I really enjoyed the space. Felt kind of divey.I think we walked in on a themed karaoke night or party. Our bartender took our order immediately and had the food out before we could blink. The portions are huge and the service was amazing. If I lived in the area I'd probably go often.

Lord D.

Yelp
Stopped in around 5pm Saturday August 10 th2024. We had the BBQ pork and it is phenomenal! The best I have ever had! We had drinks from the bar and they were on point and not watered down. We had Almond Chicken, Honey Walnut Prawns and OE Special Fried Rice. The food is very very good, the prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly. We loved the whole atmosphere. I highly recommend. I will drive up from Bonney Lake just to eat here again. It was that good.

Natalya O.

Yelp
Cool unique atmosphere, the honey walnut prawns and orange beef and fried rice were all super delicious

Ivy L.

Yelp
This 4/5 is mainly for the karaoke rooms. I looooove karaoke and Orient Express has the best song selection I've seen in Seattle. Great value too, as there is only a minimum spending on food and no hourly charge for the room. Sound system is not bad, beats some other fancy karaoke places that charge $35/hour. That said, I would definitely come back for the karaoke but I wouldn't come specifically for the food. It was at best slightly better than Panda Express. The papaya salad was too salty and fishy. The salt and pepper squid was a little bland and too chewy. The mapo tofu and eggplant dishes barely tasted anything. My favorite dish was probably the fried rice. The service was fast, but it definitely helps if you speak Cantonese. The cleanliness of the space was questionable, but none of us got sick afterwards - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! The area is probably not the safest so I wouldn't leave any valuables in the car. Will probably come back to try their drinks in the karaoke rooms.

Michael T.

Yelp
Food was excellent, good chilling spot with family and friends, plenty of parking on the side of the restaurant.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
i've been coming here for years with my parents, it's one of the places with a more authentic taste of chinese food likely due to it being mostly run by chinese immigrant staff. although unlike other asian restaurants i've been to before this one had a train theme that piques my curiosity time and time again. i heavily recommend the salt and pepper squid/chicken or the salty fish fried rice. karaoke here is also a blast. i've celebrated my birthday here before and it's very accommodating for big group. i can leisurely enjoy my potsticker while watching my friends belt out their favourite songs. you can even use youtube acoustic videos to play recent bangers which definitely impressed me as most karaoke places i've been only have machines with pre downloaded tracks. overall the food is pretty good & i would highly recommend if you're in the area

K W.

Yelp
This was our first time here. Headed to the bar for some food and was welcomed by the bar manager, Amber. She was so friendly, outgoing and encouraging to the bands that were playing that evening. Because of her, we will definitely be back! Thank you Amber for an amazing experience!

Noel Falcão R.

Yelp
One of the most unique hidden gems of Seattle. The staff are super friendly, food is amazing and drinks palpable and strong. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are transported back to the 1930s. It's a great time.

John M.

Yelp
I was in Seattle for work. I thought the old train car thing would be fun for a change. It was a Wednesday night, an open jam was happening (the band was fantastic!), the drinks were great, and the food we delicious. It's nothing fancy, but if you love the old school, real PNW vibe you will love it here. No smoking. KENO and scratch off cards. Craft beer. A great bartender. I will go back on future trips to Seattle.

Thomas B.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber Eats so I can't comment on the service or restaurant itself. My wife and I both ordered Pad Thai and the Crab Cheese Wontons. The Pad Thai was just bad. The noodles were all stuck together; both the pork and tofu were lacking in flavor and the tofu was tough; the flavor was lacking and there was no spice. I should have realized the dish would lack flavor over the lack of question regarding spiciness. Overall, the Pad Thai was nothing sort of traditional Pad Thai and I would recommend avoiding it all together. The crab cheese wantons were OK. They're served similar to empanadas in their presentation, which is fine but these specific wantons were too soggy. They tasted good, though, which is why I'd say they're OK. Overall, I'd struggle ordering from this restaurant again.

Jeffrey Y.

Yelp
Hands down best karaoke place I've ever been to. I love karaoke (so far yelped karaoke in SF, Austin, NYC, Singapore, and Seattle!) and am blown away by the space and value at Orient Express. $25/person for the whole night with as much worth of food included! We got the large room Roundhouse with ~20 people and sang a mix of Mandarin and English songs all night. The music videos were often spot on, the screens were the highest definition of any karaoke place I've been to, and the acoustics were solid. $25 for 6 hr of music is an insane deal already, but the food just is the cherry on top! The food itself is nothing to write home about, but the overall experience is phenomenal. QUALITY - 5/10 -- Okay food, met expectations. SERVICE - 8/10 -- Water refills, unobtrusive food layouts, very solid karaoke experience. AMBIENCE - 8/10 KARAOKE - 10/10 -- Amazing VALUE - 11/10 -- Amazing OVERALL - 11/10 -- Am extremely happy.

Yelp
Their food is great but delivery service is the worst. I wish I could take back my tips. So bad I will not be ordering delivery from here again. Not one to leave bad reviews especially when I like the restaurant but these experiences have impacted me to the extent that I want to warn others. Not that I celebrate x-mas but what a day to be shitty towards others, towards disabled people. Today the driver refused to bring the delivery to my door, leaving it downstairs after arguing with me and trying to leave it at the building next door because it was easier for them to find. As a disabled person i order food when I cannot make it myself so this severely impacts me. Also he called me because he was lost. When I stated I left directions in the designated comment section, he casually replied that he never reads those so I had to sit there and verbally give him directions exactly as i had written them out. It is pure laziness and being a jerk for no reason. It would have taken just as long to read my directions and deliver to my door as it did to hassle me and leave it where he felt was convent to him as if I were servicing him. My time has value as well which is what I pay for... what delivery fees and tips are for. The time before the currier brought it to my door but was yelling all the way down the hall and then incoherently yelled at me. Again delivery fees and tips, wtf. Note, I receive plenty of deliveries and while not the easiest place to find, I have a script I use which 99% of people have no trouble navigating with. So I am unsure why this particular place has so many issues.

J S.

Yelp
Minimum order on the food per person and it was okay. Their karaoke machine does not work well. Food is intentionally priced to be just below the minimum order per person on the dish.

Matt C.

Yelp
We ordered from here for delivery this Christmas. The food was delivered promptly, still piping hot from the kitchen, 10 or 15 minutes before the estimate from when we placed the order. The delivery guy was super nice and the food was amazing. Delivery was way cheaper from the store than using Uber eats. The proportions were great (none of us were able to finish our order and that's not usually the case for me). This place will become our new go-to

Minh P.

Yelp
Decent food, greatest value for karaoke you'd ever find in Seattle. The playlist is updated with latest songs. You just have to spend $25 minimum on food! You'd have to find song or artist with the initials ("Let Me Love You"=LMLY). I find it's easiest to click Language then English then put in song initials. The vibe is quirky as well!

Shelly F.

Yelp
Soooo disappointed!! I have eaten here a few times and the food has always been very good. But today, not good, in fact it was terrible :( I ordered the Pad See Yew (Thai Lunch) This is my go to at all Thai places, my favorite! It's supposed to come with broccoli & eggs. The noodles were hard also. It came with ONE small piece of broccoli and NO egg, usually Thai food has some kind of flavor/spice, this tasted like straight up Soy Sauce. If I had ordered it for there and not got it go, I would of sent it back. I will definitely not be ordering this dish from there again.

Denise R.

Yelp
It's one of those consistent favorites. I ordered delivery and it came from 15 minutes away hot enough to burn my tongue. Also, it was scheduled to be here at 6:15 but arrived at 5:39. I'm not complaining....

G P.

Yelp
i love this spot, I'm a history guy and these trains are historical. really cool dive bar attached to Chinese restaurant with multiple private kareoke rooms. lots of parking and the staff of extra cool. it's a for sure place to check out.

Austin G.

Yelp
Disclaimer: This review is for the space only, I didn't venture to try the food due to the negative Yelp reviews. The space itself if worth a visit. It's a Chinese restaurant made from several old train cars, including one used by FDR on the campaign trail. They make lunch, dinner, and even have a bar/lounge area. Every last Saturday of the month, they host a dance party called the "train wreck." If you like obscure things, it's a great adventure and a beautiful space to photograph.

M W.

Yelp
I've had zero luck finding chinese food in WA that is on par with NY style hunan and szechuan or even polynesian. I've been here twice now and the food is very good. I ordered egg foo young expecting a stack of pancakes under brown sauce. It was actually light with a clearer sauce and plenty of vegetables. It was delicious. Also ordered General Tso chicken. Big pieces of chicken not the dried kibble you get at other places. The sauce was tangy with some heat. Also delicious. The little train storefront don't let it scare you away. It's a little gem of a dive and very friendly staff.

Danielle D.

Yelp
I had a thai place that I swore by in Cap Hill but they don't deliver. I was also desperately searching for a "go to" Chinese spot on this coast. I found this restaurant on BEYOND MENU and have since only ordered from this restaurant for all of my Chinese and Thai take out orders! This place is the FASTEST to deliver hot and delicious food. Plus the prices are really good for the amount of food you get! The food!!! Let's talk about it. I've tried : Hot and sour soup Spring rolls Eggplant in garlic sauce Ma po tofu Pork in garlic sauce Fried rice Orange chicken General tso chicken Pad see-yew Pad kee mao Green curry ALL were great --and I've yet to be let down when trying something new! The taste brings me back home in NY (I say that a lot about restaurants I like out here)--but this restaurant is better than anything I've tried in NY. I recommend this restaurant 100%. Note : i've seen a lot of salty comments about rice not coming with the dinner. Most of the places in Seattle do not serve rice unless asked for. I personally don't eat rice--but a choice of rice DOES come with the Chinese lunch option (when lunch option is available).

Chimi Y.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying this place after seeing them on the curious seattle Instagram account however I was somewhat disappointed. To start off there was no rice served with our entrees. We ordered kung poa chicken and Mongolian beef and there was no rice included for either when we received our meal. No where did we see that rice was not included, especially for $13.95 for the entree. The Mongolian beef tasted good I enjoyed it over the kung poa chicken. Appetizers: spring rolls and crab cheese wonton. I like the spring rolls however the crab cheese wontons were not crispy and the inside was an interesting mixture that could have used more cream cheese. I also ordered an egg drop soup which had good taste but it was SO thick, they added too much corn starch. The soup was goopy and has the consistency of congee rice soup, very odd for egg drop soup.

Mateo G.

Yelp
Great spot in a train, but the food was okay. Not the best. Much better Chinese and Thai food throughout Seattle. Fun spot to check out though

Joe S.

Yelp
Reviewing just their mu shu pork. It rocked. Spot on from what I loved when I was a kid back in nyc. Haven't yet tried yet anything else but this was to die for.

Lucas N.

Yelp
Placed an order of Orange chicken, and fried rice, $16.xx almost $17 each other so $35.xx total, but the appealing (the picture actually looks better than the outside) and the quality not what I expected (the coating of orange chicken totally shoggy, mushy). Can get better quality, and better price at different restaurant. Kinda disappointed

Amber H.

Yelp
Came here for karaoke night and the food is just as delicious as the last time. The service was fantastic and ambiance was amazing! Going to book our holiday party in one of the private karaoke rooms this year This place is a hidden gem. Definitely recommend

Joey K.

Yelp
I ordered from Orient Express almost reluctantly. It was one of the only Asian restaurants that delivered through Grub Hub a couple weeks ago and at first it seemed like it was going to be super westernized and not great quality. You can typically discern stuff like that through size of the menu, what the menu focuses on, and the different proteins they have available. It turned out that my initial assumption was wrong... Very wrong. I ordered the Singaporean noodles, Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce, and my father ordered Mushu pork. All three dishes were insanely good. The Singaporean noodles had a good level of spice, was filled with high quality proteins, and had a great noodle to protein/veggie ratio. The Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce was light, refreshing, and great for micronutrients. The Mushu pork was good. I didn't really try much of that one, but my dad said it was great. I grew up about 10-15 minutes away from Orient Express and never tried it because of the way it looks, the way that many people refer to it as just a bar, and because of the neighborhood it is in (not the most convenient place to drive to). But boy, when they say don't judge a book by its cover, they were seriously right.

Linda L.

Yelp
I can't speak for their food (only because we didn't dine in that evening) but I would 100% recommend stopping by here for drinks and karaoke! Located on 4th Ave, you honestly can't miss this quirky establishment. I mean, it's two bright yellow train cars; gotta love it. Walking in, to your right, is the restaurant/dining area, and to your left, will lead you to the bar. The seating arrangements are very roomy, and your first step in, makes you feel like you stepped into a whole different era. It was a tad bit confusing to navigate around this establishment, but was interesting to take a look around nonetheless so no complaints! The bartenders, Amber and Julee were super nice, hilarious, and knew what they were doing. If you want to be around good people accompanied with good pours, stop on in!

Mike T.

Yelp
2nd time getting food from here. I'm changing it to 5 stars. Is this the best Chinese food I've ever had? Is it even top 5? No, but it doesn't have to be. I ordered pad thai out of curiosity and fried rice. I had protein at home. First off, the price is very good, especially for being in Seattle. $10 for fried rice, and $12.50 for an entree is a good price point, even without white rice being included. It's kind of stingy to not include rice, but the portions of the entree are generous, especially for the price. Pad Thai- This was not Pad thai, but it was good. This was Pad Chinese. There were the same noodles in pad thai, and had peanuts and bean sprouts in there, but the sauce was gravy-like or was what comes with almond chicken. Not sure what it was. There was no ketchup or spicy flavor in it. This was the Chinese version of Pad Thai for sure....but it was good because it had lots of onions and veg in it. Fried rice- delicious and generous portion. Had a decent amount of veg and bbq pork in it, and it was done right. Food was out in a jiffy and it was $22 for two entrees. I had dinner tonight, and also lunch for tomorrow. Best bang for your buck is here.

Lee A.

Yelp
Honestly I've got no idea what to say about this place! So bizzare. First time here and it was like stepping into some old fashioned movie. The place is also surprisingly big! It's also dirty, smelly and weird! Once a month they play electronic dance music which is what we went for. What I liked though was it was such a mix of people. Ages, styles... You can walk in wearing whatever you'd like and won't feel out of place. Will definitely check it out next month.

Kathryn B.

Yelp
This place is so delicious! Honey walnut shrimp, ginger beef, and pad kee moa were our favorites! Very fresh and friendly service too. Authentic Chinese food and cocktails in a really fun environment- train cars!

Jordan W.

Yelp
Walked in to order takeout and was very happy with how friendly the staff was how quickly the food was ready. My orange chicken was piping hot and still crispy by the time I got home. I will be ordering from here again.

A. W.

Yelp
Food is not great, but not the worst I've ever had. Reasonably fast delivery and, when ordering from GrubHub, no delivery charge. There is a $20 minimum order fee, which is a bit steep when you're only ordering for one person. However, their portions are generous and I get a good 3-4 meals out of it. I usually order two lunch combos, which gives the best variety of dishes.

Bobbie N.

Yelp
I planned a 30-person birthday party in one of the karaoke cars this weekend, and while there were a couple things that could have gone better, we had a great time! There's not much information about the karaoke situation on the Orient Express' website, and not all of the staff speaks English, but I learned over the phone that you can book rooms for up to 40 people, with a minimum that your group needs to spend on food and drink amounting to $23/person. Our room's orders wound up on one bill that we paid at the front on our way out. There's a separate menu for the karaoke rooms (see pics), and a server who comes around to take orders. The appetizers and well drinks were perfect for our crew, though we did have to track down our server a couple times throughout the night. Some of our friends just started going to the bar to get drinks, but those orders didn't count towards the minimum we needed to spend in our room. One other heads up: the karaoke system is pretty tricky to figure out. You have to search by initials, and while it's chock full of Asian songs and artists, it was hard to find a lot of the American classics we were looking for. That said, the music videos are hilarious, the amenities inside our room were great, and in general the staff was fantastic. Go with an easygoing group who appreciates a night out at a kitschy spot!
