Second Chance is A.O.K......a very chic little resale store selling ladies' designer clothing, shoes, bags, accessories. They also carry a tiny bit of home decor type items (vases, frames, glassware). The stuff they sell is very high-end. Somehow they always have a big stock of Chico's items.
They are very, VERY fussy about what they will accept for resale. They will take items either on cash basis or consignment, as the seller prefers.
The prices do tend to be on the high side for resale. Everything is marked with those "double" prices, where if the item does not sell by a certain date the price will be reduced at that point. So if there's something you like, you always have the option to take a chance and come back for it, hoping it will still be there on the magic day when the price drops.
They have occasional sales and specials, which you can be notified of if you join their email list. (You will not get a slew of emails from them; it's very occasional.) but they are usually the kind of sales that have a catch - some things are always excluded.
Sometimes you will get super lucky here and find a great piece for dirt cheap, but not too often. It's much smaller than nearby Clothes Mentor and the hours of business are more limited.
The owner and staff are the nicest of people. One time I came here with my mother, who is 90, and the store was actually closed (it was Sunday) but the owner inside saw us and our disappointment, came to the door and opened up just for us. She was so polite and patient and helpful and let us spend as much time as we needed to find some items for my mother. That's the kind of thing you don't forget!
