We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here on date night!! The cocktails were delicious, every dish we tried was delicious, and the service was spectacular! We will definitely be back!! I think my fave was the tenderloin but the risotto was also amazing!

What a gem of a restaurant! Food and beverage are the perfect balance of local and global. Tried the elk ragu and was thoroughly impressed. Farro risotto was a delicious vegetarian option (albeit a bit small). Amazing basque cake for dessert. The menu seems to swap out often, which to me is a welcome treat. The service and atmosphere was great as well. Our server had plenty of great recommendations. The decor is simple but elevated. Perfect for a special night out with loved ones.

Hats off to the Chef, and staff! Has a great atmosphere for fine dining. With the open kitchen you get to see so many delectable meals coming out. The wine selection was diverse and very good. I had the Surf and Turf (the special for the night) my wife had the beef bourguignon. We will be back again!! *For our 2nd time back was just as good if not better. We were a little early so we had some cocktails at the bar. We split the bread basket, the butter was creamy and delightful. My wife had the spaghetti alla chitarra this was the best spaghetti I have ever had. The mountain of fry’s fried in duck fat was amazing. The steak was tender and juicy. We will be back again, this is a must if you have never been!!

I’m a local and often sit at the bar. I appreciate the happy hour menu/drinks, service and quality of food. While the Bistro is very strong in a rotating menu of superb craft cocktails the wines by the glass haven’t changed. The biggest red is a medium bodied Tempranillo which isn’t the best pairing with a steak or pasta dish. I’d love to see a rotating list of exciting wines by the glass.

Wow! What an amazing experience to dine here! Love! Love! Love this place:) Such beautiful humans, relaxing atmosphere and the food is Chef’s Kiss! This is a must stop when in the area! My advice order everything! Sooo delicious! Xoxo Bistro you’re my fav!

Had an amazing meal here recently. Spencer was our server and provided impeccable care and attention to detail. We had the winter salad, french onion, mussels and frites, and new york strip. Everything was absolutely delicious. The new owners have brought a modern but approachable update to the bistro and we can't wait to visit again and try the rest of the menu!

Went by myself about two months ago. Really enjoyed the food, ordered a Ratatouille Salad and a French Onion Soup. The people there were really nice.

Decor, design, delight! I haven’t had pheasant in many years and this recipe has me craving it more! Beet tortellini, Caesar salad, duck fat fries, amazing bread. Boil this all together with stellar service and nice music bringing it all together for a fabulous meal with my family. One on up to Livingston MT and give this place a go. You won’t regret this hour or two of your life!

Yelp
Entirely worth the hype. The food is wonderful and lived up to the reputation. The staff are wonderfully kind and helpful. They were incredibly accommodating to my almost-two-year-old daughter, giving her a delightful experience. The casual elegance of the place is really warm. I'll be back!

Yelp
My wife and I came here a couple years ago, when it was a prix fixe menu. It was one of the best meals of my life, I raved about it to anyone that would listen. The cocktails were great, the food amazing (seriously, I count the pheasant I had that night as the best bite I've had in all of Montana), the ambiance dim, quiet and intimate. We were in town for our anniversary, and decided to go again. I regret that decision. Service was very slow, 30 minutes to get our drinks, which were middling at best. The menu is poorly conceived, the food mediocre and overpriced. The ambiance I loved so much has been replaced by a very open, airy and noisy one. Might as well be an entirely different, worse restaurant. Likely won't be back for the price.

Yelp
Just had a wonderful dinner at 2SB. Best, most tender lamb chops I've ever had. The Vichysoise was so delicious, perfectly divine. Had mussels with a genuine Pernod sauce. Service was just great, thanks Muriel! Perfect dinner in a very pleasant setting.

Yelp
I had eaten at the previous prix fixe iteration of 2nd Street Bistro and had a delicious meal. That being said, the multi course set menu experience felt like a bit of a commitment, so I just didn't think to go there often. When they reopened under new ownership with an a la carte menu, I decided to give it a go and boy oh boy am I glad I did!! I took a friend for a birthday dinner and got a reservation a couple days in advance. The ambiance is more modern, clean, and bright than before. The food. Wow!! Every dish was spectacular. We shared the snap pea salad, my friend had the halibut, I had the duck confit, and we split the chocolate mousse for dessert. We traded bites of our entrees and they were very different but both absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. Our server, Spencer, was so friendly and the food came out in a timely manner but we didn't feel rushed at all. It was a delightful experience from start to finish and I am so excited to go back more often. Well done!

Yelp
Oh Livingston, how you've captured my heart and soul. My dream since an episode filmed on a little show called "No Reservations" featuring the beloved Anthony Bourdain, aired in 2009 showcasing Livingston, Montana. Not only that, but the historic Murray Hotel and the 2nd Street Bistro. It's been my dream to eat here and I'm pleased to share my experience with you. I had a reservation for one at the bar and luckily got to have the entire bar to myself. I had the pleasure of meeting most of the front-of-house staff and one of the owners. Everyone made it feel like home. The amuse-bouche started off with a tuna poke atop smashed avocado on a crisp. Appetizer round was a beautiful duck egg yolk ravioli with a salad of shaved asparagus and chicharron. The egg yolk burst as I broke in to the ravioli. It was fuckjng divine. The soup was literally the best French onion soup I've ever had. It's hard to nail the salinity of this dish, 2nd Street crushed it. I could drink that shit every day. Entree round, I went with the most amazing skate wing grenobloise. A beautiful piece of skate fish sautéed with lemon, capers and brown butter, served with saffron potatoes and the most beautifully cooked vegetables. Desert rounded off this amazing night with a beautiful piece of French Opera Cake; beautifully layered almond sponge cake with a chocolate ganache and an espresso butter cream. All I can say is wow. This was easily the best fish dish I've ever had.... In a small town in Montana. I fell in love with Livingston. I fell in love with the people here. Most importantly I fell in love with the food. This is my town. These are my people. I need more of this in my life.

Yelp
Great ambiance, foods good, however server was down right rude. We drove from Billings to dine, and celebrate my birthday. She couldn't be bothered tho, wouldn't even crack a smile. She acted as if we where an inconvenience on her night. We all ordered apps, salads, and entrees, and two nice bottles of wine. Never felt so unwelcome in my life. Our party either works in the industry or has in the past. We tried our best to make her job easy because we know some days can be harder then others. Even after attempting to give her the benefit of the doubt, we found ourselves puzzled by the lack of warmth and generosity. It's hard for me to leave a negative review because like I said, I've been there. But, when you're in the service industry being pleasant is a minimum requirement. Despite the stinky attitude the chef prepared some lovely food for us, and we left her a generous tip hoping that maybe a few extra bucks would help her crack a smile. But, nope, nothing. Although we will not be returning to 2nd street bistro, we still wish mrs grumpy pants the best.

Yelp
Food here is 5 stars, when it finally comes out. Service was literally some of the worst I've ever had, anywhere. Disclaimer: we got there 20 minutes after our reservation time due to an accident in the canyon that blocked the whole freeway. As soon as I got cell service again I called to apologize. We also had our puppy in in the car thanks to our sitter crapping out on us. But we really didn't want to bail on the reservation as it was our anniversary and we had been so looking forward to our one big fancy meal out for the year. So we had to take turns ducking out to deal with the nervous puppy. That's on us. We then spent the whole meal literally wondering if we were being punished for being late, or for having to step out, or both. Or maybe it was because we weren't ordering wine. Best case, we were just flat out being ignored. After getting seated we waited 10 minutes until our server showed up. We were offered a bubbly but no bread. We ordered right away since we had ample time alone with the menu - good thing we did. Before we got our starters, the table of six next to us that was seated 5 minutes after us had their starters and bread. I refrained from asking for bread for fear of slowing things down even further. I had already made the great mistake of ordering both the soup and the salad. Soup came, but it was another 30 minutes until the salads followed. As we worked on our salads the table next to us was getting their enjoying their mains. Because we were seated next to the kitchen it was plain to see when our salads were finally cleared that our mains still hadn't even been started - there was no one even in the kitchen. 20 minutes after our salads we were brought steak knives and at that point asked for the main and dessert to go. It was already 2 hours from when we had been seated, we didn't want to find out how late we would have had to stay to actually finish the meal. For a 4 course prix fixe at $85 a person you expect the service to be on par with the food. The whole experience was atrocious, and ruined a great meal for us. A simple explanation or apology or even just acknowledgement could have gone a long way, but nothing came. I left a tip only because our whole tipping culture and underpaying service workers is effed, but you couldn't pay me to come back here and go through that again.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to give this place a try last night (on a Wednesday), after having looked at a few places and decided to give this place a go. From the moment we walked we were greeted by a nice hostess who told us it would be one moment while she sets our table up. We proceeded to watch her light a candle at our table, fill our water glasses and set some menus down before sitting us. Once we sat down, our amazing waitress Lauren offered a taster of Brut and named off the specials for the night. We asked her for something nonalcoholic to drink, as we didn't see any options on the menu, and said she would gladly make us some mock tails (which did not disappoint). After she had brought our drinks, my friend and I looked over the menu and decided to try the soup du jour, which was a Portuguese sausage and kale soup, and the blt Blu salad to start. We were very surprised by both, the freshness and flavor were amazing. For our entree I chose the Ossobucco and my friend had the steak du jour Oscar style.... Now let me tell you I thought I have had amazing meals before, especially having been to Hell's Kitchen and other restaurants in San Francisco, but this was by far the best thing I have EVER eaten in my life. The Ossobucco was tender and very flavorful, it was accompanied by a wild mushroom risotto and combined was a experience I have never had in my life. My friends steak du jour was extremely tender and was accompanied with a port foie gras reduction, creamy potatoes, soft shell crab and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. It practically melted in your mouth with every bite. For the first time we ate all the appetizers and entrees completely, we would have licked the plates if it were a proper thing to do lol. We felt full but not in a way where you feel sluggish, it was a happy full. We then decided on desserts which were the butterscotch and bourbon custard and the profiteroles filled with a espresso cream. The profiteroles were amazing, the espresso cream inside I could eat all day. But when I took my first bite of the custard, it literally brought me and my friend to tears. I have never had a dessert that had such balance of sweetness and a hint of saltiness, along with the bourbon not being overbearing. It was a perfect balance the made me euphorically happy, which completed a perfect meal. So in closing, do not hesitate to go and try 2nd Street Bistro. It will be the best meal you have ever had. How this place isn't on the map of the greatest restaurants ever, beats the hell out of me because I can confidently say Gordon Ramsays cooking can't even touch this place with a 10 ft pole when it comes to amazing cuisine and service. Thank you for an amazing experience and we will see you soon!

Yelp
We passed through Livingston on our way to Bozeman in preparation to fly out after our Yellowstone trip. We came across the realization that Anthony Bourdain had done clips on his Parts Unknown documentary series that were dedicated to Livingston, so we figured we'd give it a try. To start, the service here was really great. We got complimentary bread, olive oil and I believe dry-cured ham. My only complaint is that they charged us for an extra scallop without asking us if we wanted it (the dish came with 3, but we were a party of 4 so they probably added it as a courtesy, but do think they should have at least mentioned they would charge $5 extra). We ordered the bolognese, bistro scallops, lamb shank and short ribs. My favorites were probably the bolognese and the bistro scallops. I was told that the chef spent time training in Italy and made the pasta by hand. The scallops are a classic here and the crawfish risotto complimented the dish well. The short ribs tasted a little dry to me, and the lamb shank tasted very fresh though had a very strong lamb flavor. Overall I would definitely recommend this place as a nice dinner if you're passing by. Not worth a huge detour for, but if you're around and want a relaxing and more upscale dinner like we did to wrap up our trip, this is the place.

Yelp
During a three week stay in Livingston, we ate here or ordered food to go at least five times. This is the best restaurant in Livingston by far, in my opinion. Excellent dishes, from pasta to salads. The owner , who greets you at the door, is clearly very experienced from a major urban center. One problem: we had reservations for 4 and drove 2 hours from Red Lodge . Weh we called to confirm, they failed to tell us that their air conditioning wasnt working... it was over 100 degrees. Had they informed us on the phone, we would have made other plans. We asked that the dinner be prepared to go.... impossible to eat inside when its over 100!

Cory C.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant I've been to in the general Yellowstone area, by far (I've been here about a week now for vacation and have eaten out every day). I was wowed by every dish my family ordered. Like most other restaurants I've been to in Montana/Wyoming, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our server was very knowledgeable in answering any questions we had, and he consistently refilled our waters as needed. For an appetizer, we ordered pan seared scallops over a bed of crawfish basil risotto and sriracha buerre blanc. We all gobbled it up...the scallops had a great sear and a subtle sweetness; the risotto had a good depth of flavor; and the beurre blanc was perfect for dipping the bread in. I ordered the pan seared Alaskan halibut for my entree, and wow, I cannot remember the last time I had a piece of fish that good. It was extremely fresh (unlike the other fish I've had in the area) and had a well-seared crust on the outside, without the inside getting over cooked. The beurre blanc was a great complement to the fish. The vegetables that came with it were grilled and delicious - I usually don't like zucchini or squash, but I finished it all. I also tried the dishes my family ordered: beef stroganoff, seafood stew, and tuna panzanella salad with a side of truffle fries. Again, everything was amazing. They used homemade pasta for the stroganoff. It had a rustic, yet sophisticated feel to it. Everything in the seafood stew was fresh and flavorful. The truffle fries were addicting and had a good amount of truffle oil in them. Yes, it's pricy, but it's totally worth it. My only regret is that we won't be able to come back here this trip. If I'm ever back in the area, I will 100% come here to eat!

Yelp
I used to give 5 stars. When places lean too heavy on "Covid Excuses" it turns me off fast. The menu has been cut to almost nothing. Like 4 choices a night. No plated full meals. All 4-5 course dinner at $70.00. Which was way more than I would have paid. Had Bison steak, which was good, but not $70 good. The "courses" were OK. Salad good. The rest was nothing I wanted to have. Also, they took away seating at the bar. I almost always sit there. No reason, just gone. It needs to be enlarged, not killed off. They don't seem to want people in the bar at all.

Allie M.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Every course was delicious and beautiful. I had the crab salad, french onion soup, bison steak, and creme brûlée. The menu changes monthly, so if I lived in the area I would definitely go once a month. Their wine list is also incredible!

Krissy K.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Montana. They are offering a pre-fixe menu now and they change it up each month. The chef is super talented and the staff is amazing, if you're looking for a fancy date night out or a place to impress visitors, this is the place. They also offer the perfect espresso martini if you're into those.

Holland V.

Yelp
I was in town for business. Ate here 2/4 nights I was in town. I had their amazing house infused pineapple/jalepeno margarita (YUM) french onion soup and house salad with goat cheese ball the first time and the margarita, house salad w goat cheese and scallops the second time. Everything was amazing. The scallops came on bed of risotto. They seem to always be busy so I would suggest reservations if over two people. Otherwise I seemed pretty easy to grab a seat at the bar. Would highly recommend!

A H.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Great food and pleasant, talented staff! Definitely recommend.

Donna L.

Yelp
A lovely dining experience. Beautiful surroundings, delightful staff. Every course was delicious. The pacing of the meal was relaxed which was exactly what we were looking for. Perfect cocktails, nice wine list. In summer the vegetables all come from their own garden. Make a reservation. Highly recommended.

Debra R.

Yelp
Upscale dining in a historic building. We opted for indoor seating since the wind tends to blow on the outdoor tables. Our friends have eaten here numerous times, and had several recommendations including the shrimp fettuccine which looked quite good. I opted for the pan seared scallops with a nice spice since it was served with risotto in a Sriracha sauce. Very rich and tasty. My husband's bison rib eye was so huge there was plenty for a frittata the next morning. Reasonably priced cocktails like a dark and stormy, plus a decent wine list. There is a small classy bar area too.

L F.

Yelp
What a great find on our overnight Last week at the Murray Hotel. Service was exceptional, food was fresh and delicious. Our party of three had two different pasta dishes and one ribeye steak special. Exceptional. House made pasta was very good. Creme brûlée for dessert was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Patrick G.

Yelp
2nd Street Bistro is back! While it's always been a great staple for Livingston, Brian and his team have used the pandemic to launch an amazing prix fixe menu with a true bistro-style atmosphere and level of service, coupled with approachable wines. Also hats off to them for keeping the customer service efforts tight, friendly, and prompt - which is a rarity right now at so many restaurants post-pandemic. Well done.

Robin G.

Yelp
This spot is as good as any 4 star in NYC. I wandered in in a Sunday night. 5 course price fixe only, with 3 accompanying wines, I was advised:$35. NO, come ON! Okay. Like the trout in the Yellowstone River, I'll bite. 1st course: Garlic custard with pickled shallots and vinaigrette, Spanish bubbles in the glass. Then, a puréed soup of morels. More bubbles. Followed by a frisée salad with morel tapenade on crostini, and a truly great Cotes du Rhone. Main course: scampi grilled, on a bed of savory risotto, picante tomato sauce. Wow...Livingston? Really? Topping it off: Affogato (Vanilla ice cream in espresso...haven't had this since I lived in Rome) and a fab iced cookie...glass of Salice wine. I'd move here just to come Sunday nights. NOT kidding. I used to work with Julia Child. I assure you, she'd be blown away. Cudos to the 2nd Street Bistro. May you NEVER leave Livingston.

Ann A.

Yelp
Ate here recently. First thing I missed when looking online was the $75.00 price for the 4 course meal. I have no problem paying $75.00 for a four course meal if it is EXCELLENT. This was not an excellent meal, I was very disappointed. Do you know how to season food? Appetizer and main dish were so bland. Cesar salad was horrid. i can make a better Cesar salad that what i was served at home. My dessert was okay, it should have been GREAT. Will be eating here again.

Graham P.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Our server, Elise, was very friendly and took great care of us. Their house wines, and mixed drinks were delicious, as was the halibut and short rib dishes we ordered. I definitely recommend the mussels and calamari, as well as the pot de creme desert with scotch night cap!! Will definitely be back!

Jillian M.

Yelp
Where do I start? This place is delightfully understated. The food speaks for itself. Everything is just wonderful, and the service is spot on. Cannot wait to go back! My only (little) thing is that it would be great to see "to go"boxes in a material other than styrofoam, but life is expensive and I get that. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Kathleen R.

Yelp
We had a disappointing experience there. Food was marginal and service very slow. Not the quality we had when we ate there several years ago.

Lauren C.

Yelp
Stumbled into this restaurant on a drive home- AMAZING! Food, service and atmosphere could no have been better.

Yelp
My husband and I have traveled all day and wanted something special to celebrate our up coming anniversary. We packed for hiking and shopping so we were dressed in t-shirts & jeans. We entered the restaurant with only 2 parties seated. There were two waitresses, one in training. The older one literally look at us from top to bottom and became flustered. She was started to fumble with the menus as if she didn't know where they were. She excused herself and directed the younger waitress to follow her. She took 2 wine and 2 food menus withe her. When they both came back, the older waitress dropped the 4 menus in her hand as if she was nervous. Mind you, the dinning room was virtually empty. We followed them to the table right by the kitchen. It was hot and noisy in a very small area. They only gave us the wine list and took the menus back to the hostess table. We asked to be reseated and the newer waitress was willing to do it right away when someone in the kitchen said that she had ask the other woman. Did I mention that there were probably 12 tables available? We followed the young lady and the other lady hesitated as if asked for her first born child. We told them to never mind and left. I have never been so mistreated at any restaurant before. We were planning on spending $100 at least. We went to another restaurant near by and thoroughly enjoyed it at a fraction of what we budgeted. Oh, in case you were thinking that the other tables were reserved? We were staying at the adjacent hotel and passed by the restaurant 40 minutes later. Only 2 tables were seated. SHAME ON THEM FOR BEING SNOBS.

KJ B.

Yelp
Long day from Boise after an afternoon in Yellowstone Lots of Bars in Livingston but we drove past The Bistro and decided to try it! Well worth the effort: Friendly Clean Great Bar/Cocktails and good well worth the stop! It was very very relaxing!

Carol D.

Yelp
We were staying near Livingston and found this gem through YELP! The place was packed - but the hostess took great care of us while we waited a short time for a table. It was SOO worth the wait - the food and service was incredible. I had the ravioli special which was YUMMY and my husband had the filet with smashed potatoes. Marie Claire was our server - she was an incredible server - and although very busy - took time to talk and made our evening very special. We were so surprised to find such incredible food - great wine - and a top notch restaurant in a small town! Montana was full of surprises and this was one of them!

Dirk D.

Yelp
I would have given the restaurant a 4.5 if it wasn't for the waiter. Seated on time and greeted promptly. Ordered wine and appetizers. When they came ordered salads and entrees. 45 minutes later he brought another appetizer and said he was sorry. No plates. 15 minutes later they delivered the entrees, one at a time over ten minutes. Not what I expected from a high quality restaurant.

Kat F.

Yelp
We love this restaurant but tonight we got attitude from the bartender. It was a very busy night and we sat at the bar. He took 15 minutes to talk to us. We are regulars who tip more than 20 percent always! If you can't take the heat it's time to move on! Food is always delicious!!!

Yelp
Driving from Florida to Seattle was an interesting journey especially because of the many interesting small towns representing to me the real America. One such interesting town was Livingston, Montana. At first glance, I thought there was not much there but once I ventured off the highway and into the center of this town I was surprised to see quaint shops, the amazing Murray Hotel and attached to this, the 2nd Street Bistro (2SB). Both of these once made famous by that chef, television personality, and author Anthony Bourdin. Chef (and owner) Brian Menges who has cooked for several famous hotels in large cities fell in love with Livingston and the beautiful building (which he bought) during his travels and bravely established 2SB. The result is a restaurant one would expect to find in New York, Chicago or San Francisco. The service by the staff, the ambiance and especially the food are all excellent. Some menu items that made me salivate were: -- Escargot En Croute - a dozen snails in garlic, shallots, almonds and parsley baked in puff pastry $12 -- Pan Seared Scallops - 3 huge scallops with crawfish and basil risotto, sriracha beurre blanc $17 -- Spring Halibut - pan seared Alaskan halibut, classic ratatouille, citrus beurre blanc $32 -- Pork Scallopini - local pork scallopini, homemade spaetzle, seasonal vegetables, mustard demi $28 The above can be accompanied by a variety of wines from the well-stocked wine cellar at incredibly reasonable prices.

Yelp
I started with the Crab Cakes on Fried Green Tomatoes, Jesus-God--I am pretty sure I cried after having tried these. I then had the pumpkin seed/pear salad on mixed greens with a very light dressing. I really do not like dressing on my salad, but this was perfect. The main dish was a special for the night, Short Ribs. They were yum. The food was overall great and timed perfectly. What i liked most about his place were the people. The server spent time with us and it wasn't an uptight place. The food was upscale but the atmosphere was chill and so were the chefs. We sat at the table near the kitchen, which is designed for the customer to see them cooking. Our server knew what was on the menu and explained it in Non foodie terms. Oh, and she recommended some great local beers. Ingredients are local and fresh. Anthony Bordain went here and featured this restaurant on No Reservations. I have posted a picture that tells you just how he feels about this place.

Sara J.

Yelp
You know when you leave a restaurant on a high because the food was so good? It happens so rarely. How is this restaurant not in a big city? This would be on the top 10 list in Austin where we have a disproportionate share of creatives. The food was inspired from start to finish. We ordered a ton just wanting to try as much as possible but we couldn't stop eating. The soup, the salad, the appetizer, the ravioli de jour, the cocktails, the stroganoff, mmm. We didn't leave room for dessert and I'll be forever remorseful. And, our waitress couldn't have been more attentive and sweet. Other reviews bash the service. Can you imagine trying to staff a restaurant like this in such a small town? Be realistic people. And complaining about the price when you can look at the price point before you go? I can't take your reviews seriously if these are your complaints. I'm sorry I'll probably never be in Livingston again to have another absolutely delightful experience at this restaurant. It may be worth a trip from Texas just to eat here again.

John M.

Yelp
It was Friday night very busy the waitresses were nice but sadly the food took forever to come out, half of it was cold when it was supposed to be hot and the onion soup had very little taste. The short ribs were terrible they had run out of prime rib which our group originally came in for and they also run out of bread so they gave us french fries instead. The bill was wrong and had to be corrected. I don't blame the waitresses but this restaurant is obviously poorly managed. I cannot recommend this to anyone and would not go back there.

Helen V.

Yelp
On Sunday afyernoon at 5:30, made reservations for 2 for 7 that night. After 5 minutes on hold, called back. Paul made sure the hostess picked up our call. When we arrived at 7 she said we had the tabletop looking over the kitchen and was that ok? I said: are you kidding me?!!!! Got a great table, service ok, the food...so, so. I had shrimp scampi - kind of soggy. My ceasar salad was 4 whole lettuce leaves on a plate. I've never seen that. Had been wanting to try 2SB for some time but not worth all the hype. Not our kind of place.

Yelp
We had the worst restaurant experience ever at this place. We were a party of 5, we ordered 2 appetizers, and it took 2 hours, 15 minutes to get our entrees. When the entrees came, 3 were fine, 1 was room temperature, and the prime rib was cold and raw. The waitress kept telling us all night that our meal was "just 5 more minutes". We didn't get it until we threatened to leave. We had to ask to see the manager twice before he showed up. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Yelp
So disappointed in what is meant to be one of the best in Livingston. It was cold and noisy for starters. House white wine was awful. Chardonnay was $13. And the only Chardonnay. They charged to split an "endive" salad that wasn't endive at all. We both ordered pasta which came 30 minutes after we finished our salad...Luke warm. We wanted the chocolate chip cookie desert and they were out of vanilla ice cream...seriously at 8:30 on a Saturday nite?!? Our server tried hard but there are definitely serious kitchen problems. Choose Mustang or Montana Chop House instead. We spend 4 months here but won't be back.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the hip, lively atmosphere with great service, and menu. Open kitchen and prep interesting to observe. Reservations recommended. Fairly expensive but was worth it- $141 for 2 people- cocktails, wine and tip included

Yelp
Overall service was good. However, the seven people at our table received their food and I sat for over 20 minutes waiting for mine, while everyone else finished their food. Our server was kind enough to take care of my meal.

Yelp
The best thing about this restaurant was our server, Elise, who was excellent and genuinely friendly. The food (black angus rib-eye steak with smashed potatoes and squash) was passable at best, especially considering how expensive this place is. We were 30 minutes early and asked if it would be possible to be seated sooner because there were so many empty tables. The hostess, who was moving around the restaurant like she thought she was a runway model, haughtily informed us that wouldn't be possible. No one came in before we were seated either. The atmosphere seems (and looks) like a tacky old diner. Not impressed with this place at all.

Yelp
Delicious, Yum, my favorite in town. Expensive for the area, but well worth it. If you are looking to "Dine"in the area... Go here.

Yelp
This trendy fine restaurant is a good incentive to go back to Livingston! We thought I found a hidden gem, little did we know then that Anthony Bourdain had recommended it. And my husband and I both concur. We thought, oh boy, what is there to eat here... till we walked by this hip restaurant, with a little cafe next to it. I must say we have not had this good of a food in finer places! Bread, yes! Food, oh yes. Wine, a good nod. Dessert? Mouth watering.

Yelp
We were recomeended the place by some friends we were visiting so we thought we would give it a try. Stopped in Sunday Sept 11th around 7:30 PM. and stood in the "lobby area" and noticed the menu signed by Anthony Bourdain and the glowing review the accompanied it. After reading the review we were greeted by a agitated hostess who asked if we had reservations to which we replied "no" and we were only here for drinks. She said if we wanted to eat it would be quite a wait so I asked to sit in the bar. She was getting more agitated as additional folks were arriving with her greetings being just as kurt to the new arrivials. The hostess then stated there were NO clean tables in the bar and it would be a "while" till she would have one ready. I said no worries we would wait for an available seat AT the bar. It did strike me as odd that there were quite a few tables available in the bar that appeared to be clean and ready but I dropped it. After lookiing over the menu to see the offerings for wine and apps, we spotted an area at the bar that a patron had just vacated. I apporached the bar with my wife and kindly asked the bartender "if the previous patron had left and were these two seats available"? He shot back a "well it WILL be if I get it cleaned"!...with an attitude taken from a Robert DeNero movie... My wife looked and I looked at each other and could not believe how in the timeframe of 10 minutes we manged to be rudly greeted by a hostess and then again by the bartender. We promptly elected to leave the establishment with my vow to address this on Yelp! Just because you get reviewed by Anthony Bordain (Yes I have seen all his shows and eated in his places as well) dosnt give you the right to treat people like you are an "A" list invite only eatery in NYC or LA. I have been to NYC and LA many times and have been treated better in both cities in every instance. Too bad I didnt stay for the "wonderful food" which im sure was to be served with a welcoming attidute. Listen up 2nd st...I got it that this is probably the biggest thing to happen to Livingston MT since electricity...but if you want to stay in business for the long run...start with the attitude. Ohterwise you will end up like the rest of the storefronts in Livingston...VACANT!

Yelp
Start to finish, excellent cocktail variety, yummy small plates, delicious entrees and heavenly desserts. Our service by Corinne(sp?)was excellent, as opposed to other reviewers here, but having worked in food service before, it's all in how you approach your server. Be a great customer, get great service.

Yelp
Service Excellent. Bread excellent. Whipped butter excellent. Food: not great. Here's why: Meatloaf underseasoned. Needs more salt. Pizza w/ Moroccan lamb was overpowered by the olive. Would be nice to taste lamb, not olive, pizza. Seafood paella: should use good quality stock for a Paella. Seafood was cooked well, but paella itself lacked flavor. I guess for montana it's alright, but if you come from a big city with good food, you'd probably be disappointed here.

Yelp
Oh my god!!!! I was visiting from LA for my boyfriends family reunion and I seriously LOVED this restaurant. I felt like I was living off of fries and meat, and I needed a quality meal. We got in and sat down and I could only afford the burger (haha). One of the best burgers of my life. Great quality and what? REAL cheddar cheese? Tasty, wonderfully seasoned deliciousness. I split a really yummy pear and candied walnut salad with my boyfriend and I think he got the pasta bolognese (I think). Good, but small portion. My burger was big, though. Big and tasty. Service was great, too!

Yelp
I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The food has always been outstanding, locally sourced excellent food. The service is just appalling. From the hostess you first meet when you come in, there is always delay even if you have a reservation. Last night the excuse was the "people before you stayed too long." Then the waiter, always slow and very non-attentive. Drinks from the bar take Forever. I just don't understand why the service side of the place can't match the food quality. I anticipate coming here, then experience the terrible service, say I won't come again, but after a few months I return.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots for dinner in Livingston! The food is always well prepared, fresh, well presented, and most importantly delicious. If your looking for a nice, high end restaurant for dinner this is it.

Yelp
First Livingston is a cute little western town with many old brick buildings. The bistro is cute and open to the street - at least in August. We stopped late afternoon and at a Greek salad. It was beautiful with 2 small lamb chops and break along with a fantastic Greek salad. I was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent.
