20250423 post for the last three nights.
I have eaten at the 320 River Kitchen (part of the bar) three times, once for breakfast and twice for dinner.
4/21, Isreal waited on me for my first dinner, and he was fantastic. Patient, timed food, talked through choices, put a napkin in my lap, filled my water glass regularly, everything. Isreal was great.
That night, I ordered the miso salmon. Its roasted bok choy was a little damp, and the sweet miso glaze was a bit heavy.
The management bought me an apple cobbler with ice cream. The ice cream and parts of the cobbler were coated with a carmelized hard candy. While tasty, the cobbler oats topping could have been crunchy instead of like oat meal.
4/22, for breakfast, I had lox and cream cheese with a fried egg on a bagel. Being an open faced sandwich, it was messy, as open faced sandwiches often are. The egg was not overcooked.
4/23, the waiter was not too attentive, and the music wasn't appropriate (dance club electronic remixes - House). It was distracting if not annoying. I ordered the hanger steak medium-rare. It came with some truffle fries, and I ordered the pumpkin cheese cake, which was decorated with pumpkin & peanut brittle and chantilly cream.
I thought the hanger steak would be bigger (for 40 bucks), yet it was properly cooked, a quality cut, and satisfying. I had greater aspirations for the cheese cake than it could meet. Still. I am glad I tried it.
