Overall, this place is fun. The setting and design were superb- I especially loved the projector of old pictures and awesome music. The hostess when we entered Yardbird was one of the nicest woman I've ever met in my life. She was very accommodating and kind and us down and a great location.
The food was good, but pretty heavy, we were a little disappointed that they were only serving brunch at 2:30 on a Sunday, since we had our dishes, picked out from the lunch menu before we came (obviously that was our bad). The menu is pretty limited if you want something light - everything is very heavy here. Both my husband and left with a little bit of an upset stomach just from how heavy everything was, but the main reason for three stars is below.
It took a very long time to even be greeted by our server. Like 15-20mins+. When he came, visits were few and far in between and we kept having to ask for basic things the server should've gotten us. For example, water. We asked for ice water. It didn't come until after our meal had already come, and we had to ask the person who delivered our meal, which was not our waiter. We needed a condiment with our meal, but he was nowhere to be found so I had to ask another person that delivered a meal to a nearby table. at the end of the meal, we were told that Yardbird automatically adds 18% gratuity to the bill, so I guess it makes sense that our waiter had a significant lack of effort. Why be motivated for a tip that you've already gotten?
Anyway, I get that this is Las Vegas but I felt it was a little bit dishonest to have an additional gratuity blank on the check when you're already charging 18%. I feel like a lot of people probably misread it and think that the additional gratuity line on the bill is the only gratuity.
I was really looking forward to chicken & waffles as it's one of my favorite dishes, but I didn't really like that the chicken comes on the bone so you have to take it off the bone and put it on your own waffle. It felt like two separate dishes to be honest, the price and portion reflected two different dishes as well.
Overall, I was supremely looking forward to this meal, but to be honest, the inattentive server, having to dissemble the chicken and put it on the waffle and not having multiple things during our meal that we wanted, kind of ruined it for us.
I don't recommend this place for business meetings unless you are getting boneless chicken or salad - since you have to pick the chicken off the bone. It's very messy and time consuming.
There is a very loud, and fun vibe going on here but it was hard to look over some of things mentioned here. Unfortunately I'm going to have to leave 3 stars. I'm thinking about coming back to try breakfast, but with so many options at the Venetian, I'm not sure after our experience that I want to spend the time, effort or money on Yardbird.
